Your stupid stimulus stunt!
MichelleMalkin brings us this example of just how deep the pit of stupidity is getting!
The state of Washington sent out $1 checks to the 250,000 food stamp recipients in the state.
The director of the Community Services Division for the Department of Social and Health Services, Leo Ribas, says the checks mailed Feb. 17 trigger an additional $43 million in federal food benefits. They also connect recipients to an energy assistance program.
Ribas says the $1 check is a one-time move to leverage the federal money. He says next year the state will be able to trigger the federal assistance through a routine deposit in food stamp accounts.
These mental midgets are damned lucky breathing is an involuntary bodily function.

Here we go again! House Republicans are bracing for another onslaught of out-of-control Democrat-authored spending as the omnibus bill is expected to hit the floor of the House as early as next week.
And it’ll be yet another spending bill House Republicans and the American people have not yet been allowed to see and the Democrats haven’t even bothered to read. As if the $1.2 trillion Democrats spent on “stimulus” last week wasn’t enough of a disaster, this colossal bill encompasses the remaining nine appropriations bills for fiscal year 2009 sloughed off by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).
House minority leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) called upon the Speaker Thursday to release the voluminous spending bill online without delay. “If Democratic leaders plan to schedule a vote on the half-trillion dollar omnibus spending bill next week, they should post the legislation online immediately so the American people have adequate time to read the measure and understand what is in it,” Boehner said. “My colleagues in the Republican leadership and I made this request two weeks ago, and to date, our request has gone unanswered. Time is running short, and American taxpayers deserve to know how their hard-earned tax dollars will be used under this legislation.”
You want earmarks? There are lots and lots and lots of earmarks in the $410 billion omnibus spending bill coming down the road. Not that any of the people who are going to vote for it will actually read it, of course. If they did, they couldn’t look into the camera and sanctimoniously declare that, uh, you know, “There are no earmarks.”

Pakistani militants in the country’s northwest are understood to have received 480 million rupees ( 6 million dollars) in compensation after agreeing to a cease conflict with government forces for an indefinite period. Well-placed security sources have told Adnkronos International (AKI) that the militants agreed to lay down their arms and endorse the deal between the government and local leader Sufi Mohammad to impose Sharia law in the region.
“The amount has been paid through a backchannel, ” a senior security official told AKI on condition of anonymity.
“It is compensation for those who were killed during military operations and compensation for the properties destroyed by the security forces. In fact, negotiations for this package were finalised well before Maulana Sufi Mohammad signed a peace deal.”
The security official said the amount was delivered from a special fund of president Asif Ari Zardari. All the tribal areas come under the president’s jurisdiction and a special aid package, including a donation from the US, was designated for the tribal area by the president’s office and distributed through the governor’s office in the North West Frontier Province.

You take one gigantic douchebag, Ward Churchill, who is of course, famous for saying the victims of 9/11 had it coming, and you add another douchebag, Bill Ayers,who actually WAS a terrorist, and what do you get? A cesspool of sub-human scum!
Two of academia’s most controversial left-wing figures — ex-Weatherman Bill Ayers and fired University of Colorado professor Ward Churchill — will share a stage on the Boulder campus next month.
Three CU student groups recruited Ayers, a lightning rod of controversy during the 2008 presidential election, to speak at an academic-freedom rally just days before Churchill’s lawsuit against CU goes to trial.
“What we’re trying to show with this event is that Ward Churchill is not alone in this,” said Aaron Smith, a recent CU graduate and member of Students for True Academic Freedom.
The March 5 event, “Forbidden Education and the Rise of Neo-McCarthyism,” will be held at the Glenn Miller Ballroom, and also will feature author and activist Derrick Jensen. Co-sponsors include the Student Environmental Action Coalition and 180 Degree Shift at the 11th Hour.

Back to the Carter years?
Before the election, I, and many others compared Obama to Carter. Well, if this column is right, then, we have indeed arrived in a new 1977.
Yes, I know, returning to those times is not what anyone, at least those of us who have actually read the Constitution, and who actually have a bit of economic common sense, is not a pleasasnt thought. Not in the least! But, look at the possible bright side here. Recall that after Carter came Reagan. So, if history is repeating itself, and if Obama is Carter reconfigured, then 2013 could mark the turnaround of America.
So, remember this note of positivity while your 401K tanks, the markets nosedive, taxes skyrocket, spending balloons, ad America moves ever towards a more Marxist state.
Stay positive my fellow Conservatives, we shall yet regain our founding principles. As Reagan followed Carter, another Conservative will follow Obama. Who will it be? How about

Hey, how about a 90% marginal tax rate?
Democrats are outraged if anyone suggests they want to bring socialism to America. I mean how couyld anyone actually think they support socialism? How indeed?
When I got my time with him, I explained to him that even people who make $150k in Northern Cal. are not “rich” and should not be taxed as if they were. (A 1400 sq ft, 40 year old home here goes for over half a million, even after the housing slump. Then you add in real estate taxes, state income taxes, 10% sales tax, gas prices, utility costs, etc.) I also expressed my concern that about half the people in the country now pay no income taxes, so there is overwhelming incentive for them to keep voting for democrats and therefore higher taxes for the rest of us. He told me that he thought tax rates should go up for the very rich and that the top marginal tax rate should be 90%. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing, so I asked in a voice that many in the room could hear if he really meant 90%, and he said yes. Several people asked me after my turn was over if they heard correctly what he said, and were amazed when I said yes.
This is from a conversation a lady had with California Democrat Jerry McNerney. A Democrat? Supporting a 90% tax rate? Who could have thought?

Excellent! Let’s all hope this spirit keeps on growing across America.
Perhaps 750 braved windy, 23-degree weather in Overland Park to protest the pork in the stimulus. Liberty-minded, free-market Americans met outside of Congressman Dennis Moore’s Office in Overland Park to protest his votes to waste tax dollars.
Michelle Malkin’s web site first announced this event on Thursday. A stay-at-home mom, Amanda Grosserode, is organizing a grass-root movement in fiscal responsibility from Seattle to Denver to Mesa to Overland Park. Local Kansas groups like AFP and KRA alerted their members about the event. Darla Jaye on 980 KMBZ talked about the planned event last night.
