How do “activists” create crisis?

Simply put, they lie, they inflate numbers, they just make things up. Convinced that the end jusifies their means, they will say anything to create a crisis that they think exists and the facts? Who needs facts? Not these folks apparently!

The report — released Tuesday by the National Center on Family Homelessness and reported by numerous news organizations, including FOXNews.com — estimated that one out of every 50 children in America experienced “homelessness” during that two-year span.

But rather than using the definition of homelessness established by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Massachusetts-based organization used a standard adopted by the Department of Education that includes children who are “doubled up,” or children who share housing with other persons due to economic hardship or similar reason.

The difference? About 1,170,000 children.

Activist groups sadly can be creative with stats and studies to further their agenda. For example, gun control groups lie about the number of “children” killed by guns, including “children, op to the age of 21, and including “children” who are killed while committing violent crimes. They also lie by showing stats of the number of gun deaths, not botheing to mention that some of those are violent criminals killed by the gun of a police man or armed citizen defending themselves. They also never show the stats of defensive gun uses where the armed citizen does not kill, or many times even fire their weapon.

The reason activists engage in this type of behavior is simple, they want an outcome, and they will gladly lie to achieve it. Facts be damned! And yes, some activists for Conservative causes have done it as well, and that, to me, is doubly shameful.

Overall though, this is largely a problem among liberal activists. Radical environmentalists, global warming alarmists, race baiters, gun grabbers, “children’s advocates”, and “women’s right” groups like N.O.W. commonly use these tactics, and it is despicable.

Here is a rule ANY activist should use. If you must lie, or exclude information to further your cause, then there is something terribly wrong with your cause.
