Video-Bill Maher thinks all Conservatives are maniacs who will try to kill Obama

Newsbusters has the clip

Note in this several things. First of all Maher has a segment on how nutty Glenn Beck and right wingers are, and includes Keith Olbermann! Good grief! The panel also includes Socialist Bernie Sanders, and actress Kerry Washington, a Liberal, and a Iberal from the New York Times, Andrew Ross Sorkin. Nice balance there Bill Maher!

Please note when Maher just throws out, without any documentation, that Obama has already received more threats than any president in history. Washington replies, “does that surprise you?” as if everyone knows that those racist Republicans are just itching to harm the president.

The most obnoxious moment comes from Olby near the end of the clip. After the panel laughs off concerns about Obama pushing Socialism, Olby rants thatAmerica is going to have to reign in corporations and cut back on their liberties. That is, of course, SOCIALISM! These people, are pathetic! They rant about how they are more intellectual, then, defeat every argument they put forth with their own words! If they were only as smat as they think they are.

Anyone else think the “pissed off bus tour” will not end well?

Sure, this a great idea! Let’s put angry activists on a bus and drive them around to the homes of AIG execs! Nothing could ever go wrong there!

By the way, a group you might have heard of, ACORN, is behind this. I do have to ask the glaringly obvious question here. Why not bus people to the homes of the Congressmen who APPROVED the AIG bonuses? Why not bus theser “victims” to DC, and protest there?

Once again it seems the Left only has a problem with bonuses if individuals make them, if the government OKs them it is OK, until someone collects the bonus that is! Then climb on the Outraged Bus and terrorize private citizens and their neighbors!

This is a step in a dangerous direction.Imagine a group of wackos coming to your home, to protest you receiving a bonus at work? I gotta say, I would be damned sure to defend my home. This goes beyond peaceful protest, this is designed to intimidate and threaten.

I just hope no harm comes to these people.

Yes, Virginia, Pelosi cares nothing about the Constitution!

Great piece I found at Poweline Blog that bothers to ask the question every one of our political leaders SHOULD be asking every time they vote on a bill.

Is it constitutional or not? In the case of the 90% tax on AIG bonuses, the answer is clearly HELL NO!

If the Pelosi bill is actually enacted into law (which I still think is doubtful) and upheld by the courts, there is no limit to the arbitrary power of Congress. In that event, we have no property rights and there is no Constitution–no equal protection clause, no due process clause, no impairment of contracts clause, no bill of attainder/ex post facto law clause. Instead, we are living in a majoritarian tyranny. As I explained here, there is nothing wrong with the AIG bonuses and no reason why they should be repaid. But even if you think it was wrong for AIG to pay them, Pelosi’s proposed confiscatory tax–total taxes would exceed 100 percent in some jurisdictions–is an outrage. If Congress can appease a howling mob of demagogues by enacting discriminatory tax legislation against a group of people who are, for the moment, politically unpopular, even though the vast majority of them have nothing to do with the supposed problems that have given rise to popular outcry–imagine, say, Congress enacting a surtax on the incomes of all homosexuals in response to a notorious case of homosexual molestation–then the idea that the Constitution affords us any sort of protection against arbitrary government power is an illusion.

Could not have said it any better myself.

H/T Blue Crab Boulevard who raises an excellent point worth noting, and hopefully, heeding

It is lousy law and Congress needs to pull back from this assault on the Constitution. I cannot imagine this thing passing muster at the Supreme Court.

There are plenty of people to get mad at in the AIG fiasco. But the voters should direct their anger at the folks who specifically allowed the AIG bonuses in the first place.

That would be the Democrats in Congress (along with three Republicans) and Barack Obama.

Don’t let them trample the constitution to divert attention from their actions.

Selective Socialism Syndrome strikes White House?

Apparently Team Obama had to choose between two Marxist ideals, cap and trade, or reforming (nationalizing) national health care. Must have been a tough choice for the President, and it would seem that cap and trade was voted off the Socialist Island

Good news that cap and trade will be postponed, for a while, it will make a comeback, maybe in a second Obama term, or in dome future administration, Seems that Marxist ideals never really die, so, like weeds, we just have to keep pulling them up, so, stay vigilant.

Ed Morrissey also questions if all the other Obamgasmic spending will curtail, to some degree at least, the health care revamping. So, maybe this is a good news, could be worse news scenario. The best idea for making this news even better, get Conservatives who will fight back elected in 2010!

The non-story of the day?

Oh, how about the “Obama insulted the Special Olympics”  nonsense? YES, I said it was nonsense. This hypersensitive outrage over a stupid remark, YES, it was stupid, but really, get a grip please, is way over the top.

Taking a remark and blowing it far out of any sensible proportions is a tactic that we conservatives have rightly berated the Loony Left for doing for years. It should be beneath us as Conservatives frankly.

Yes we know, the media would be on this story like hot on Salma Hayek wrestling Halle Berry in baby oil if President Bush had said it. And we would be defending him against the surge of political correctness. And we would be right to do so. But we ought not encourage a similar eruption of hypersensitivity over Obama’s remark either. Again, let’s leave that type of cheap tactic to the Left, we are, or should be far better than that! We have spent years fighting PC, let’s not start encouraging it.

Besides we have many things to criticize President Empty Suit over don’t we? Substantive things?  You know, his incompetence, his asinine, assbackwards economic policies, his moronic plans for cap and trade, the list goes on and on.

Consistency test time Democrats

I have said recently, on this very blog, that the biggest problem Liberals have is with being consistent on issues. Well, that criticism, and their consistency, is about to be tested.

We all know that Liberals bashed Bush repeatedly over the deficit, and spending. OK, fair enough, I did too, although I have no problem with spending on defense while many Libs do. Now, though, I want to watch the reactions from those who knocked Bush on deficits to this news!

President Barack Obama’s budget would generate deficits averaging almost $1 trillion a year over the next decade, according to the latest congressional estimates, significantly worse than predicted by the White House just last month.

The Congressional Budget Office figures, obtained by The Associated Press Friday, predict Obama’s budget will produce $9.3 trillion worth of red ink over 2010-2019. That’s $2.3 trillion worse than the White House predicted in its budget.

OK, Liberals, let’s see if you can be consistent, now THAT would be some real change!

Surprise, surprise, Robert Reich DOES have a clue!

To think all these years I thought of Robert Reich as just another clueless Liberal. Seems I was wrong!

AIG is rapidly becoming a nightmarish metaphor for the Obama administration’s problems administering the bailout of Wall Street. One central problem is the lack of transparency. According to some news reports, Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner knew weeks ago that AIG was planning to issue the bonuses to executives in its notorious credit default swap unit, and felt it was contractually bound to do so. But even if Geithner discovered all this just last week, he faces an awkward question about why he didn’t know sooner. These bonuses in fact were only the latest in a series, and were not even distributed until last Friday. But it was not until Saturday, after the story leaked to the press, that Geithner went public to express his “outrage” about them.

Meanwhile, the Treasury has been readying yet another big multibillion-dollar payout to AIG on top of the $170 billion already provided the company, because AIG has been hemorrhaging red ink. The company’s balance sheets have been deteriorating far more quickly than the Treasury had anticipated. But there’s been no clear exit strategy for stopping the flow of taxpayer money.

What’s particularly embarrassing for the current administration is that it had promised to undertake the Wall Street bailout far more transparently and effectively than the way the Bush administration went about it. The Obama administration had assured the public that, among other things, taxpayer money would no longer be used to backstop Wall Street bonuses. (It’s worth noting, in this regard, that the related plan put forward by the Obama Treasury to limit executive pay in Wall Street firms that received bailouts turned out to be riddled with holes.)

Wow, hard-hitting, and, I must say, I am glad this is written by a Liberal. I think that this is going to be repeated by more and more from the Left in America. Not the far left, which LOVES Marxism, and wants to see America fade from its position of global dominance. But from Liberal writers who are starting to see how empty Obama’s suit is!

Check out this excerpet from Reich’s piece to see just how far Obama has slipped.

The Wall Street bailout is starting to look like the most expensive tax-supported fiasco in history. The problem for the Obama administration is that this bailout is near the very center of the president’s economic recovery program. It’s not possible for the economy to bounce back until credit markets are working again. Yet even though the bailout so far is a bust, Geithner still hasn’t decided — or told the public — how he’s going to use the remaining $300 billion of bailout money differently

Again, this is not coming from any “right-wingers”, this is coming from a devoted Liberal.

Jihadi Swine, party of 33, your table in Hell is now available

Courtesy of the US military! Ah, Friday afternoon, the work week is done, and I wanted to share some uplifting news! And folks, THIS is uplifting!

The U.S. military in Afghanistan said Afghan and U.S.-led troops have killed 33 militants in separate clashes in Helmand and Logar provinces.

A combined force of troops came under heavy fire Thursday while on patrol in Gereshk district of the country’s volatile Helmand province. The U.S. said troops returned fire after determining there were no civilians in the area, killing 30 insurgents. One Afghan soldier was wounded.

Southern Helmand province is one of Afghanistan’s most dangerous areas, with Taliban militants in control of large swaths of territory and supported by the region’s lucrative illegal opium trade.

On Friday, the U.S. said three militants were killed during a raid on a bomb-making operation in eastern Logar province.

Video-Michelle Malkin on Speaker Face Lift, and AIG

I blogged about this last night, but it is always nice to hear My blogging role model’s take on issues of the day, so dig in!

Hmmm, seems some bonuses are more outrageous than others

A clear case os SOS (Selective Outrage Syndrome)? Perhaps, but certainly, as maddening as the AIG bonuses, and all bonuses for CEO’s that stink at their jobs are, these bonuses are just as upsetting, or should be.

Just as a side note here, I do not mind paying bonuses to CEO’s, not in the least. BUT, when a  company is failing, THEN, I do not think those bonuses ought to be paid. When jobs are being cut, then, no, I do not believe in bonuses at all.

For further clarification, no matter how much I oppose bonuses under the circumstances I described, I oppose the government getting involved even more.

Take a peek at the AIG bonuses, the same government that is so outraged over them, is the same government that APPROVED THEM! So, the Congress OK’s the bonuses, then, for political points, gets outraged over the bonuses, an now is going to impose a 90% tax on those bonuses? THAT is the biggest outrage of all!

Nice going Mr. President

Comparing the AIG fiasco with homocide bombers? Classy!

No US combat deaths in Iraq since December

Great news!  Of course, watch any credit for the news go directly to President Bush Obama! Hope and Change and all.

Shocker of the day

Pssst! Hey you, tell your Liberal friends that enforcing immigration laws, is effective! Yes, that is right, it works! After six Swift meatpacking plants were raided in 2006. What happened after those raids is fascinating.

Production went on, the jobs lost were filled by LEGAL immigrants and US citizens.

Also salaries ROSE after the raids. Hmmm…..

Be sure to read the rest of the information at NRO. And again, pass this around. Contact your Senators and Congressmen and let them know too.

Wow, I guess everyone DOES have a blog these days!

Finally, the brains of the Obama presidency is blogging!
