Grassley: AIG execs should kill themselves
A tad over the top don’t ya think there Senator? I mean WAY OVER THE TOP!
Iowa Sen. Charles Grassley suggested that AIG executives should take a Japanese approach toward accepting responsibility for the collapse of the insurance giant by resigning or killing themselves.
The Republican lawmaker’s harsh comments came during an interview with Cedar Rapids, Iowa, radio station WMT on Monday. They echo remarks he has made in the past about corporate executives and public apologies, but went further in suggesting suicide.
“I suggest, you know, obviously, maybe they ought to be removed,” Grassley said. “But I would suggest the first thing that would make me feel a little bit better toward them if they’d follow the Japanese example and come before the American people and take that deep bow and say, I’m sorry, and then either do one of two things: resign or go commit suicide.
“And in the case of the Japanese, they usually commit suicide before they make any apology.”
This is too much, especially considering the government’s record of fiscal irresponsibilty! Glass Houses Senator, glass houses!
ACORN evolves
As an acorn grows into an oak, ACORN grows from voter fraud to census fraud?
The U.S. Census is supposed to be free of politics, but one group with a history of voter fraud, ACORN, is participating in next year’s count, raising concerns about the politicization of the decennial survey. The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now signed on as a national partner with the U.S. Census Bureau in February 2009 to assist with the recruitment of the 1.4 million temporary workers needed to go door-to-door to count every person in the United States — currently believed to be more than 306 million people.
A U.S. Census “sell sheet,” an advertisement used to recruit national partners, says partnerships with groups like ACORN ”play an important role in making the 2010 Census successful,” including by “help[ing] recruit census workers.”
The bureau is currently employing help from more than 250 national partners, including TARGET and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), to assist in the hiring effort.
But ACORN’s partnership with the 2010 Census is worrisome to lawmakers who say past allegations of fraud should raise concerns about the organization.
“It’s a concern, especially when you look at all the different charges of voter fraud. And it’s not just the lawmakers’ concern. It should be the concern of every citizen in the country,” Rep. Lynn A. Westmoreland, R-Ga., vice ranking member of the subcommittee for the U.S. Census, told FOXNews.com. “We want an enumeration. We don’t want to have any false numbers.”
ACORN, which claims to be a non-partisan grassroots community organization of low- and moderate-income people, came under fire in 2007 when Washington State filed felony charges against several paid ACORN employees and supervisors for more than 1,700 fraudulent voter registrations. In March 2008, an ACORN worker in Pennsylvania was sentenced for making 29 phony voter registration forms. The group’s activities were frequently questioned in the 2008 presidential election.

Very bad day to be a bad guy
Nice going asshat! Maybe thuggery ain’t your game?
Any robber this inept needs to find a new line of work. He kicked in a home owner’s door and and tried to impersonate a Police Officer. His street slang was so bad the victim ran into the other room, grabbed a rifle and shot him. As the criminal tried to make a getaway, his accomplices backed over him twice in the alley where they were parked. Police have apprehended 26-year-old Derek Shaun Clark. They are looking for his accomplices.
It has come to this!
Just keep reminding yourself that it is for our safety
Welsh MPs want to call time on glass bottles in bars and pubs.
They have signed a motion in the House of Commons calling for glass bottles to be replaced by safer multi-layered plastic ones.
They are backing research by the University of Wales College of Medicine in Cardiff, which shows that thousands of fight injuries could be prevented if clubs served drink in plastic bottles.
The man behind the study, plastic surgeon Jon Shepherd, said the MPs’ support was another step in the campaign to see Cardiff bars with a high-risk of violence selling only plastic bottles, perhaps within two years.
Heck, just mandate everyone wear helmets and shoulder, knee, elbow pads all the time! Good freaking grief!
No Sh## fact of the f***ing day!
The worse the economy, the worse the f***ing language? Well, I will be damned! What do you know?
It’s hard to escape news about the bombing economy these days. It’s also getting harder to escape another type of explosion — the verbal kind.
“I’ve been dropping the F-bomb every time I look at the Dow or my 401(k) statement,” says April Thomas, a 35-year-old freelance writer from Watkinsville, Ga. “You open the statement and see that number in black and white and the reality hits and you say a few choice words.”
Michele Mehl, a 35-year-old PR executive from Bothell, Wash., says she, too, has noticed a changed in her cussing habits.
It figures I guess!

Tender, Juicy Obama Fingers Hit The Shelves – Der Spiegel

A German frozen food company hopes to raise sales with a new product: Obama fingers. The tender, fried chicken bits come with a tasty curry sauce. The company says it was unaware of the possible racist overtones of the product.
Doh!
Noted Douchebag: Bush/Cheney worse than the Gestapo!
Look, little Andy Sullivan has his panties in a bunch again!
Bush and Cheney were, in fact, more brutal in their “enhanced interrogation” than the Gestapo was. And note that I am not engaging in the slightest hyperbole here. I’m not saying that the US is Nazi Germany in any way. I am saying that the torture program used by Bush and Cheney follows exactly the specific methods used by the Gestapo. This is not in any historical dispute, although the irony of using the exact same phrase for the exact same methods is one reason the Bushies dropped the term.
We also have a very specific legal precedent. When the US captured officials who had done to prisoners exactly what the last president did, the US prosecuted them, found them guilty and executed them. The price Cheney pays is a fawning interview on CNN.
Hmmm, I think little Andy is the leading candidate for my next Marxist Moron Award!
Hey Andy, try reading a litttle history at some point! Here Andy!
In the months after Hitler took power, the SA and Gestapo agents went from door to door looking for Hitler’s enemies. Socialists, Communists, trade union leaders, and others who had spoken out against the Nazi party were arrested, and some were killed. By the middle of 1933, the Nazi party was the only political party, and nearly all organized opposition to the regime had been eliminated. Democracy was dead in Germany.
OK, Andy WHEN did Bush send police door to door to arrest his political enemies? WHEN?
When did he use them to ELIMINATE the opposition party? WHEN?
Many different groups, including the SA and SS, set up hundreds of makeshift “camps” in empty warehouses, factories, and other locations all over Germany where they held political opponents without trial and under conditions of great cruelty
When did Bush order political opponents put in camps? WHEN?
You daily dose of media Obamgasms!
Not only Barack can cause spontaneous Obamagasms apparently. No, his wife, you know, the ones with biceps, can cause them too!
Michelle Malkin suggests a vomit bag before reading this, I suggest an extra-large bucket to spew in! And as an added bonus, I have obtained a video of actual Obamgasms taking place! If you REALLY want to hurl, imagine Chrissy Matthews doing this!
Laughing at Moonbats relieves stress!
Try it laugh at Moonbats and their inanity! If you need some help, check out the video at my bogging role model’s site! Good grief these folks are really pathetic!
Caught on tape!RINO tells Conservative: Kiss my fat ARSE!
Wow! I think there may be only one way to settle the Meghan McCain/Laura Ingraham fued! Steel cage match? Naw! Debate? Naw! A spelling contest? Nope! After watching this clip, I think it is time for a Mud wrassiln match!
Noted right-winger: Tax hikes hurt business!
What is special about the comment? Nothing at all, but is is the commentator that is surprising. Hmmm, maybe a Conservative can be a Liberal who has not been over-taxed yet?
We’re constantly told that taxes don’t matter to business and investors, but listen to that noted supply-side economist, Alec Baldwin. The actor recently rebuked New York Governor David Paterson for threatening to try to help close the state’s $7 billion budget deficit by canceling a 35% tax credit for films shot in the Big Apple.“I’m telling you right now,” Mr. Baldwin declared, “if these tax breaks are not reinstated into the budget, film production in this town is going to collapse, and television is going to collapse and it’s all going to go to California.” Well, well. Apparently taxes do matter, at least when it comes to filming “30 Rock” in Manhattan.
Believe it or not, Mr. Baldwin’s views are shared across the movie industry, which is pleading in state capitals across the country for most-favored-tax status. Hollywood productions are highly mobile and can film just about anywhere. So they have taken to shopping around the country — and the world — for the most lucrative tax avoidance deal.
According to the Motion Picture Association of America, nearly 40 states have corporate tax carve outs or generous cash rebates to lure movie studios to their states. In Michigan, producers negotiated a 40% tax credit on their production costs. A bipartisan bill introduced in the Texas legislature last week and supported by Governor Rick Perry would allocate $60 million into the Texas Film Incentive Program. Members of the Screen Actors Guild held a rally last week in front of the state capitol urging the tax breaks.
Again boys and girls the lesson is, lower taxes are GOOD for business, higher taxes are BAD for business! Now, if little Alec can grasp this, maybe Little Barack can too!
New low in stupidity reached!
Something like this was just bound to happen sooner or later now wasn’t it?
A school program designed to offer fifth-graders a feel for conditions faced by soldiers during the Civil War will no longer include its most popular feature.
The daylong education program will proceed as before, but without the 20- to 30-minute battle segment, Judy Baseman, assistant superintendent for the Appleton Area School District, said Wednesday.
The battle segment was scratched after a group of parents raised concerns it conflicts with violence-prevention efforts and a district policy banning look-alike weapons at schools.
Wow! Where do I start? I suppose if we allow this type of logic to be used, we better not teach about any wars at all. I mean, really now who are these morons running these schools? What the Hell are they thinking? And what of the parents? Why are they NOT raising three kinds of hell over this?
Parents of the nearly 800 fifth-graders scheduled participate in this year’s Civil War programs learned of the change in letters distributed March 5.
The letter stated the battle portion of the re-enactment was dropped to fit with district policy “related to weapons” and efforts to promote “the desired school climate.”
Nan Bunnow, the district’s director of humanities, said principals of the 15 participating schools recommended the change to program leaders. Bunnow said students were generally disappointed, but complaints of the change from parents have been few.
“This has been such a popular and important event to the students, we hadn’t really thought about (the violence),” Bunnow said.
They had not thought about the violence? It was a freaking war you imbeciles! Wow! WE are now seeing our schools acting as if kids learning is dangerous! Good freaking grief! These idiots are actually patting themselves on the back as if they are heroic! I have worked at re-enactments, and talked to kids about the War Between the States. The guys who dress up and play the soldiers teach kids so much that books just cannot. My God, are we now afraid to teach history?
She has met the enemy, and it is me?
Well, not JUST me, but all bloggers apparently!
Believe it or not, that is not what placed her on the naughty list. The Maryland Daily Record is reporting that during the state of the city address recently, she warned city residents that it’s not crime, or the stagnant economy that is a great danger to the city…but malicious bloggers.
The Daily Record reported that Tilghman in her speech said that the presence of a small group of suspicious, mean-spirited people over the last five years focused on the negative has grown, endangering the city’s vitality. She added that some people are avoiding serving their city because it’s not worth chancing the scorn of bloggers.
Umm, one would say that this goes back to only three years ago, which was when in February 2006, Joe Albero, of Salisbury News fame as well as our Eastern Shore Correspondent, before he had any blog, filed a complaint against the Salisbury Waste Water Treatment Plant to the state Department of the Environment. That ultimately resulted in the city getting spanked on the hand by the state.
It should also be pointed out that this is not the first time that Tilghman has gone after the bloggers. In the past, she has called a press conference to direct attention to the blogs she says were unfairly attacking her. She has also participated in dirty tricks during an election. The last municipal election in 2007, she invited the candidates for city council for a community forum she hosted. Which is all well in good, but it was with her three picks
Well, gee lady! H/T Ace
Armed and Safe: You won’t find that stuff at gun shows
One of my favorite blogs exposes and destroys the on going myth that Mexican drug cartels are arming themselves at gun shows in America!
I’ve mentioned before one of the problems (one of many) with the idea that the drug violence in Mexico can somehow be blamed on inadequate gun laws in the U.S. I refer to the fact that in a growing number of cases, the weapons involved are either banned outright for ownership by private citizens, or are extremely heavily regulated–weapons such as belt-fed machine guns, grenades (both hand grenades and grenades from launchers), RPGs, plastic explosive, and mortars. What surprises me is seeing even the L.A. Times picking up on this.
So, the next time you hear a Democrat blaming America for armed Mexican drug dealers, you can tell them to stop the BS!

Videos- John Stossel talks straight on government bailouts
There are six videos total here, and they will make you think, and make you crazy. The only one I would disagree with, in part anyway, is the one covering border security. But, overall, a great series of vids.
A huge H/T to HotAir
Exit question, how great would it be if every journalist actually did their job like Stossel?
