Obama’s “world without nukes” speech

5 Apr

Who could see this coming? An ultra-Liberal Democrat calling on the U.S. to disarm because our enemies will certainly do the same, and never use our weakness to their advantage.

“All nations must come together to build a stronger, global regime. And that’s why we must stand shoulder to shoulder to pressure the North Koreans to change course.”

Even without what Obama called North Korea’s “provocation,” the speech was set against considerable symbolism.

The president directly addressed the Cold War history of this former Soviet bloc city, calling the remaining nuclear weapons “the most dangerous legacy” of that era.

He again pointed to history to say that America must lead. “As a nuclear power – as the only nuclear power to have used a nuclear weapon – the United States has a moral responsibility to act,” he said.

Obama proposed doing so by reducing America’s arsenal, if not altogether eliminating it; hosting a summit on nuclear security; seeking ratification of the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty; strengthening the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty; and pursuing a new agreement aimed at stopping the production of fissile materials.

Eliminating OUR arsenal? Get that folks? ELIMINIATE our nuclear ability, and then what? HOPE that our enemies suddenly CHANGE their ways? My God this man is completely clueless.

What next? Proposing that Americans throw out their guns and leave their doors unlocked to “lead the way” in stopping crimes?

Why is the Left so hung up on the notion that the only way to achieve peace is for the good guys to disarm?

Honestly! How many times do these people need to be shown that they are wrong? You cannot gain peace through weakness because evil will exploit that weakness every time. Evil does not wish to get along, or pursue moral responsibilities, it wishes to win. At any cost!

I agree, why the hell would WE disarm our nukes. The U.S. is a country the world can truly trust. We’ve proven that over and over.

The Left does not grasp this. They are morally retarded.
