Liz Cheney smacks down Norah O’Donnell

Warching the video I noted two things. First Cheney is very effective at not allowing the discussion to be moved away from the issue. Second, she is very good at defining her views and the facts and not allowing the media interviewer to spin.

The most idiotic moment comes late in the clip when O’Donnell insists that if we do not “torture” then our troops will not be tortured if captured by terrorists! Good grief is she really that naive?

Some people should not be police officers!

Yep, here it is, video evidence that while 99.5 % of cops are great, there is still that other .5% Via Hot Air

Another bigoted race pimp defiling Confederate graves

Is there a more despicable thing than disturbing or defiling graves? This case is even more upsetting to me for several reasons. Nevermind that the “man” who did this did so out of hatred and bigotry. The Klueless Klutz Klan in their dunce caps are no more hate-filled and assbackwards than this bottom-feeding race pimp is. The objects of the hatred are different, but the hate is just as sickening! So what has me ready to spit fire?

Several Confederate flags placed on the graves of Civil War soldiers got pulled up by a black Auburn city councilman, who called them symbols of racism and hatred.

Mary Norman, president of Auburn Heritage Association, said she was at her family’s burial plot in Pine Hill Cemetery when Councilman Arthur Dowdell removed the small Confederate flag from her great-grandfather’s grave Thursday afternoon.

“He pulled up the flag, snapped it in two and put it in his car,”

OK, first of all, I am a descendant of over 75, that I have identified, Confederate soldiers. I started studying the War Between the States when I was nine, and have been a student of it ever since, 34 years now. Let me say unapologetically that I am very proud of my ancestors, I deeply respect that they picked up guns and fought, not because of slavery, or White supremacy, but because they were invaded, and because they believed, as did many that their State, had a right to leave the Union.

I have, for years, now, written and spoken at every opportunity to defend their honor, and to honor their sacrifices and their gallantry. I have also done my best to share the knowledge that my study of the war has taught me. The image of the Confederate soldier as a lilly-White, ignorant bigot is wrong. People who perpetuate such myths are deliberately misleading those they are teaching.

Yes, Confederate soldiers, like the Union troops they battled were mostly White. But the facts are clear, that not all Confederate soldiers were White. There were thousands of Black soldiers, body servants, laborers, that fought and served the Confederate military. They were entire Confederate regiments made up of Mexican, and Cuban soldiers. In Lee’s Army of Northern Virginia there were at least 5,000 Jewish soldiers. American Indians fought with the Confederacy as well. The last general to surrender? A Cherokee, Stand Watie. Judah P. Benjamin was a Jew and served in Jefferson Davis’s cabinet. Many Confederate generals Clebourne, Ewell, Lee, Longstreet, Jackson, among others, came out in favor of freeing the slaves to fight for the South. The president of the Confederacy, Jefferson Davis, not only held far more progressive views of Blacks than Lincoln, but also adopted a Black child, Jim Limber. Stonewall Jackson ran a school that taught Blacks to read in Lexington, Virginia.

The examples that dismantle the PC version of the war are many, and could, and have, filled many books. But back to this example of anti-Southern bigotry.

This was an act to of course, garner attention and cedit as a “civil-rights” leader for the miscreant who perpetrated this cowardly deed. He is intolerant of other’s and their holiday, their ancestors, and their traditions. He is either ignorant of history or just motivated by his own quest for power, or perhaps merely by the basest of all, by his bitterness and hatred.

He trespassed on private property and desecrated the graves of men far better than he will ever be. He spat on their graves and in the faces of the descendants of those soldiers.

This man is nothing but a bully, and a damnable coward. And as a man who has stood at the graves of several of my ancestors, let me say, any “man” trying to desecrate those graves is in for the beating of their life. Yes, I am sure a race pimp like Dowdell would cry racism, and hate crime and try to play the victim card, but there are some things that must not be tolerated, and desecrating soldiers graves is one of things.

Sorry, but bigots, no matter their color, seriously piss me off. Oh, and as a side note here, a short story from a personal experience. Back in 1994, at the Florida State Fairgrounds, I and some others from the Sons of Confederate Veterans were doing a living history presentation.

Some of us had Confederate uniforms, we had pictures, various flags, and other historical items. A couple of men, approached us and started looking at some of our items. Upon greeting the two, I was asked by one, “Are y’all with the Klann too?” Glaring at the idiot, I said “No, we do not associate with trash!” and then pointed out our display on different races that served in the Confederate armies. The information seemed to stun these two walking brain donors. After a few moments they walked away. I hope they learned something.

Obama and the War on Warriors?

A great post over at Wizbang that Kim Priestap has written. It echoes the thoughts I have had about the Left’s relentless campaign against our military.

What REALLY happened to the Left’s poster victim?

OK, enough of the phony, contrived “outrage” from the Left over the “torture” of Khalid Shaikh Mohammed. Michael Laprarie takes a look at what REALLY happened to KSM.

No BS, no baloney, no spin, just facts. No doubt the Moonbats will ignore them, they always do, but real Americans, who do use their brains should read this piece. Make sure to read the entire piece. And maybe pass it along to a friend who thinks we have lost our values by becoming a nation of “torture”

Earlier this week, liberal bloggers breathlessly repeated this remarkable discovery, dredged up from CIA interrogation memos and published by the New York Times on Monday: “Waterboarding Used 266 Times On 2 Suspects.”

An incredible claim, to be sure, and one so perfect in its characterization of Bush Administration officials as merciless Nazis that it immediately outweighed all the other revelations about enhanced interrogation methods made during the rest of the week.

If the notion of Khalid Shaikh Mohammed being subjected to six waterboarding sessions per day continuously for a month seemed a little far-fetched to you, you weren’t the only one. I held off writing about this story in the hope that a reasonable explanation would eventually surface. Writing for National Review Online, Clifford May seems to be offering that explanation:

The link to NRO takes a look beyond the hyperbole and sensationaslism. After explaining what the misconception is about the number of times KSM was waterboarded May offers some more common sense which the Left needs.

1) Such detailed rules suggest that serious thought was given to where to draw the line between coercion — “stress and duress” — and torture. You can disagree with where those lines were drawn, but I don’t see how you can say no attempt was made to set limits.

Nor do I see how — except in an Orwellian universe — lawyers from the current administration can prosecute lawyers from the previous administration because they disagree with their legal opinions.

Not only lawyers but also physicians and psychologists were involved in these decisions. Indeed, these interrogations were supervised by physicians and psychologists who had the power to stop them. (My column today touches on this question.)

Time and intensity are relevant factors. Who would argue that a single night of sleep deprivation constitutes torture? Who would argue that a month of sleep deprivation is not?

2) Remember that Abu Zubaydah said: “Brothers who are captured and interrogated are permitted by Allah to provide information when they believe they have reached the limit of their ability to withhold it in the face of psychological and physical hardships.”

Any interrogator worth his salt would understand this means it is his job to bring his subject to the point at which cooperation is no longer betrayal but permitted according to his religious beliefs. Can that be achieved short of torture? Sure. Can it be achieved without coercive interrogation techniques? No, not with subjects who have the beliefs described above.

A great read for those whining over “torture”

Via Red State!

To all hand-wringing Democrats in Washington – claiming that America lost its values in permitting the CIA to carry forward its terrible interrogation techniques with persons responsible for the MURDER of nearly 3,000 Americans – get a life.

Are we to believe that somehow an internationally known, public high school swim team in Ann Arbor, Michigan can compel its 15 year old, 10th grade swimmers:

  • to swim not less than 18,000 yards a day (760 lengths in a 25 yard pool) over a period of 4 1/2 hours;
  • to lift weights for not less than 1 hour per day;
  • to do pull-ups until the swimmers literally vomit at the base of the pull-up bar;
  • to get less than 5 hours of sleep per night, only to get up at 5:00 a.m. and ride a bike eight miles to and from the swimming pool – twice a day (in the summer);
  • to, let’s not forget, endure your teammates giving repeated “snuggies” and hanging you by your underwear from a flagpole (of course, this doesn’t happen anymore ;-) );
  • and to generally endure a swimming regimen and discipline, which has produced numerous national champion teams and swimmers, including medal-winning Olympians,

BUT the CIA can’t compel the production of important information about terrorists’ identities and future terrorist attacks, designed to save the lives of millions of Americans, by:

  • immersing someone in water for 30 seconds;
  • by depriving them from their beauty sleep, night after night;
  • by grabbing them harshly by the shoulders and directing their attention to what you are saying;
  • by slapping them occasionally to get their attention; and,
  • by not feeding them a USDA approved diet?

Are you kidding me?

YES, waterboarding DID stop a terror attack on LA

Patterico has two oustanding posts up that totally destroy any and all of the arguments and spin the Left is using to use waterboarding as the greatest crime ever committed by any nation. The second pst also proves that YES, the timeline DOES show, CLEARLY, that waterboarding DID prevent a terror attack on LA!

My thoughts are all I can add here. The Left plays fast and loose with their rhetoric. If a terror attack DID happen under Bush, they would have BBQ’d him for it. As they have tried to do regarding 9-11! Of course they beat the drum of discontent with the “Bush has made us less safe” lie, even though there were NO terror attacks here AFTER 9-11.

Further, they have stubbornly denied that anything Bush did prevented any attacks. They accomplish this by constantly refusing to count thwarted terror attacks, as successes! They will say that the attack was still being planned, so it was not a real attack. Or they will deny that there was a plot, or they will even do as they are doing right now. Try to deny that waterboarding worked in preventing terror attacks. Anything to keep their war on Bush going! Too bad they do not hate Jihadists as much as they hate our former president.

Video- Your Marxist Morons of the Day!

Little Keithy Olbermann and his fellow douchebag Lawrence O’Donnell having Jihadigasms over how mean we were to the terrorists. O’Donnell, calls anyone who does not serve in the military a coward, and calls the terrorists more “committed” than Conservatives.

This is a truly disgusting clip of two mental midgets who have been educated way beyond their hat size!

I might take theser pinheads seriously if once, just ONCE, they showed at least as much outrage over Sharia Law, and it’s inhumane treatment of women, or terrorists killing of innocents, or honor killings, or John Murtha calling our troops cold-blooded killers, as they do over Conservatives daring to care about America!

A great example of TARP absurdity

Imagine this. You get a loan, you repay in full it early.  Sounds good so far right? However,the lender makes you pay a huge penalty, to pay them back early!

Sounds like some alternate reality? Well, yes, it really does, but when you consider the lender was the government, you might say it figures!

Local banker Bill Cooper, who runs TCF Bank in the Twin Cities, has established himself as a tough-as-nails businessman and has won the admiration of many in this area.  Today’s announcement exemplifies why.  Cooper has repaid the TARP funds in order to get Treasury off his back, even though he had to pay a premium to do so:

Hope and Change? More like Control and Money!

As Ed Morrissey points out, this is completely assbackwards way to conduct business. Early repayment of TARP funds should be rewarded, not penalized! This is the government though, and reason is not part of this. This is about, say it with me, control and or money!

Either banks can accept being owned in part by the government or they can get their “souls” back as it were, but they have to pay the fiddler to do so. Profits? I guess they belong to the government now! Boy, I can’t wait for government to run health care, and the car companies……

Barney Frank-LIAR!

Remember that Obama said the stimulus would create a rush for new construction jobs?

Not so much! Like almost every big promise from a politician, this one has fallen well short!

In his Earth Day speech on Wednesday, Barack Obama claimed that Porkulus and its tax breaks for weatherization and residential energy efficiency had set off a “rush” to hire construction workers to make homes more energy efficient.  Yesterday, his Labor Department begged to differ.  They adjusted the numbers announced earlier this month on jobless claims upward, past analysts’ expectations, and the analysts predicted that unemployment would rise for the next 12 months into double digits:

About the pit of Leftist stupidity

It is getting deeper every day! They might hit China any day now!

Valerik Kashkin, a clown in the Moscow State Circus, was performing in Liverpool’s Sefton Park last Saturday when he fell from a three metre high slack wire, injuring his foot.

Although he continued to perform for the rest of the show, when he went to hospital later that evening, he was told he had broken the metatarsal bone in his left foot.

When he returned to the circus he was told by management he could no longer wear the size-18 shoes because they compromised his health and safety.

Obama set to release pics of detainee treatment

This news has me so freaking pissed I cannot see straight! Oh, but the Lefties, will be having multiple Obamagasms, and likely Jihadigasms too. Gee, I wonder how the ACLU, which is as anti-American as it gets, will choose to use these photos? I think we all know the answer to that! And at the link, we can see EXACTLY where this is going to lead

Courts had ruled against the Bush administration’s attempts to keep the photographs from public view. ACLU attorney Amrit Singh tells ABC News that “the fact that the Obama administration opted not to seek further review is a sign that it is committed to more transparency.”

Singh added that the photographs “only underscore the need for a criminal investigation and prosecution if warranted” of U.S. officials responsible for the harsh treatment of detainees

Of course, there are always those pesky “unitnded consequences” aren’t there?

Calling the ACLU push to release the photographs “prurient” and “reprehensible,” Dr. Mark M. Lowenthal, former Assistant Director of Central Intelligence for Analysis and Production, tells ABC News that the Obama administration should have taken the case all the way to the Supreme Court.

“They should have fought it all the way; if they lost, they lost,” said Lowenthal, who retired from the Agency in 2005. “There’s nothing to be gained from it. There’s no substantive reason why those photos have to be released.”

Lowenthal said the president’s moves in the last week have left many in the CIA dispirited, based on “the undercurrent I’ve been getting from colleagues still in the building, or colleagues who have left not that long ago.”

“We ask these people to do extremely dangerous things, things they’ve been ordered to do by legal authorities, with the understanding that they will get top cover if something goes wrong,” Lowenthal says. “They don’t believe they have that cover anymore.” Releasing the photographs “will make it much worse,” he said.

Gorezilla afraid to debate former UK science advisor about climate change?

Why would Congress not allow an opposing view to be shared at today’s global warming hearing? Maybe there are two reasond? Fear and dishonesty?

UK’s Lord Christopher Monckton, a former science advisor to Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, claimed House Democrats have refused to allow him to appear alongside former Vice President Al Gore at a high profile global warming hearing on Friday April 24, 2009 at 10am in Washington. Monckton told Climate Depot that the Democrats rescinded his scheduled joint appearance at the House Energy and Commerce hearing on Friday. Monckton said he was informed that he would not be allowed to testify alongside Gore when his plane landed from England Thursday afternoon.

Ah, can you smell the “inclusion” of dissenting views?
