Meghan McCain, useful idiot for Democrats

Sorry, but that is what she is. She is being used and promoted by the media, and the Democrats because she is saying EXACTLY what they want “new Republicans” to say. She is ragging on the GOP, ragging on Conservatism, and advocating a GOP that would, if it followed her inane advice, become a party with no ideals, no standards and no chance at ever regaining political majorities.

In short, a Meghan McCain model GOP would be another wing of the Democratic Party. The differences between the two parties would effectively cease to matter at all. And that, naturally, would forever alienate the Conservative base from the GOP. Wanna take a wild guess how that would play in elections across America?

DUDE! You thought your job stunk?

Everyone hates their job at times, but really now, at least you are not out there tackling naked guys!

A great idea for rebuilding the GOP!

Hmmm, let’s see now, Palin/Prejean 2012! I could go for that! I really like the way the VP debate could go. Think of it, Prejean lays out the “let’s debate in bikinis” challenge! NO way Biden wins that!

Honesty loses to PC again

That is the really sad lesson of the Miss California tale isn’t it? Carrie Prejean answered the question posed to her. She said she was glad that states could decide for themselves. She even gave the obligatory pre-emptive apology by saying she hoped she did not offend anyone.

All she really did wrong was this. She was HONEST! She dared to actually honest the question HONESTLY! Honesty used to be something to be aimed for didn’t it? Not anymore! Oh, people SAY they want honesty, but only if it is some carefully scripted, BS answer, that sounds like it is being given by a robot.

The lesson here for anyone wanting to get ahead is this. Be careful what you say, be hypersensitive, be wary that you do not go out of the PC boundaries. Do that, or else! Like I have said before, free speech is useless if everyone is afraid to use it.

OK, they are not REALLY in bikinis, except in my mind of course,  but, I need more hits, so, BIKINIS it is! H/T  Tiger Hawk

Noted Douchebag out of work

Somehow, I cannot feel sorry for him, likely because he has shown himself to be such a sorry excuse for a human being so often!

Obama vs defendents rights

I wonder how the Left will react to such a story? Silence? Outrage? Mass protests? Comparisons of Obama to Hitler? Calls for impeachment? Most likely silence.

Teacher sends feces, note home with student

Now this might seem strange but I guess the note was meant to clear the whole “mess”up!

The father of the boy who only wants his first name of Jason used and his son not identified says the teacher was way out of line.

”It’s about the way she handled the situation of sending a piece of human waste home on a school bus with a 5 year old kid in kindergarten,” said Jason.

Jason says attached to the bag of excrement in the backpack was a note that said “this little turd was found on the floor of my room.”

Joe Scarborough: Yep! Hardball sucks a big one!

Or words to that general effect anyway!

Oh to be a fly on the NBC cafeteria wall next time Joe Scarborough and Chris Matthews run into each other.  On today’s Morning Joe, Scarborough singled out Hardball as an example of the cable shows he doesn’t watch because their guests “vomit bad information” for which they’re cheered.

Hey Joe, thanks, but we already knew that watching  Hardball is about as appealing as eating tofu!

Obama’s plan to close Gitmo hits a slight snag

The Obama plan so far.

Step 1- Order Gitmo closed.

Step 2- Send the largest group of prisoners held at Gitmo back to Yemen

Step 3- Figure out a way to get around Step 2 falling apart

“We’re at a complete impasse,” said one American official who is involved in the issue but was speaking without authorization and so requested anonymity. “I don’t know that there’s a viable Plan B.”

The Yemeni government has asked Washington to return its detainees and has said that it would need substantial aid to rehabilitate the men. But the Obama administration is increasingly skeptical of Yemen’s ability to provide adequate rehabilitation and security to supervise returned prisoners. In addition, American officials are wary of sending detainees to Yemen because of growing indications of activity by Al Qaeda there.

The developments are significant for the Obama administration because the 97 Yemeni detainees make up more than 40 percent of the remaining 241 prisoners at Guantánamo Bay. The question of what to do with them “is integral to the process of closing Guantánamo,” said Ken Gude, an associate director at the Center for American Progress who has written about closing the prison camp.

The standoff over the Yemeni detainees comes on top of other difficulties that have emerged since President Obama announced his intention to close the prison that has drawn international criticism for years.

DOHBAMA! So, the options are send them somewhere else, which does not seem particularly promising, or pay Yemen to take them knowing Yemen, a hot bed for Al Qaeada activity, likely will not even watch them! Hey, I know, Team Obama can just dial up plan B, oh, yeah, they do not have one of those! Of course, as Ed Morrissey points out, Obama could wake up and choose the most obvious solution.

Now, the Obama administration admits they have no Plan B.  No wonder; it took Obama more than two years to discover what most of us had been screaming at the top of our lungs about Yemen and the terrorists.  It will take at least that long for a viable Plan B to occur to them — which would to just keep Gitmo open and conduct the military tribunals that Congress authorized twice.

Time to freak out over Pakinstan’s nukes?

I wondered yesterday what America would do if the Taliban got close enough to threaten taking control of Pakistan’s nukes. Well that time is getting too close for comfort.

The Taliban takeover of Haripur would put the Taliban on the doorstep of Islamabad and would also put two major nuclear facilities at risk.

Haripur borders the Margala Hills, a region in the Islamabad Capital Territory. Haripur also borders the Punjab districts of Attock and Rawalpindi.

Attock hosts two major nuclear facilities in Pakistan: the Wah Cantonment Ordnance Complex and the Kamra (Minhas) Airbase. The Wah Cantonment Ordnance Complex host three sites where nuclear weapons and components are stored and assembled and aircraft and missiles are modified for use in nuclear attacks. The nearby Kamra Airbase is thought to host attack aircraft capable of delivering nuclear weapons.

Rawalpindi is the “garrison” city for Pakistan’s military. The city hosts the headquarters of the Army and Air Force, and several nuclear weapons research facilities are also located there.

There are lots of players here, India, obviously would be a target, as would our troops in Afghanistan. No doubt America would have to move to secure the nukes, and what if India decides to send its military in?

Hot Air has lots more on this and many more questions to ponder.

I remember reading last year somewhere that the Pentagon has emergency contingency plans to seize Pakistan’s nukes if things go haywire, but I’m naively hoping against hope that Zardari and the military leadership will voluntarily surrender them to keep them out of jihadi hands if they think they’re about to be overrun. Obama would have to guarantee Pakistan’s security against an Indian nuclear attack, though, and even then national pride might stop them from giving up the bomb — assuming, that is, that the leadership still has sufficient control over the military to get them to carry out an order like that. A horrifying possibility here is that there are Taliban sympathizers among the Pakistani troops safeguarding their nuclear arsenal. The more leverage the jihadis get, the greater the risk of defections.

Office of Accountability? You can’t hold them accountable!

Government accountability? Are you serious?

The Government Accountability Office today issued a report on the $787 billion stimulus bill called “RECOVERY ACT: As Initial Implementation Unfolds in States and Localities, Continued Attention to Accountability Issues Is Essential.”

The GAO study asserts that officials from most of the states surveyed “expressed concerns regarding the lack of Recovery Act funding provided for accountability and oversight. Due to fiscal constraints, many states reported significant declines in the number of oversight staff — limiting their ability to ensure proper implementation and management of Recovery Act funds.”

Because the economic downturn has led to “fiscal constraints, many states reported significant declines in the number of oversight staff, limiting their ability to ensure proper implementation and management of Recovery Act funds.”

This is the type of thing that so upset somany Americans. Their money, gone!, Where? Who knows?

McCain rips Obama over “witch hunt”

You have to admire one thing about John McCain. He will tell you what he thinks. I doubt Obama was enjoying McCain’s honesty very much today though. McCain may have agreed with Obama on “torture”, but he definitely is not in agreement on prosecutorial witch hunts!

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) warned Thursday that any attempt by the Obama administration to prosecute the Bush-era lawyers who wrote memos signing off on waterboarding would start a “witch hunt.”

“If you criminalize legal advice, which is basically what they’re going to do, then it has a terribly chilling effect on any kind of advice and counsel that the president might receive,” McCain said during an interview on CBS’s “Early Show.”

The former GOP presidential nominee and POW supported Obama’s decision to end the use of waterboarding and other “enhanced interrogation” techniques but insisted that those who gave legal advice should not be prosecuted because they were “sworn to do their duty to the best of their ability.”

“Look, I didn’t agree, as you said, with the techniques — and I’d be glad to continue that debate with people. But to criminalize their legal counsel, unless you can prove that they intentionally violated existing laws or ethics, then this is going to turn into a witch hunt,” he said.

Leftist Icon Chavez only believes in rights he approves of

The Left claims to love freedom, and dissent, and freedom of speech, but yet they idolize Marxists like this! who trample the natural rights of people as they deem fit.

A Venezuelan court has ordered the arrest of a key opponent of President Hugo Chavez who fled to Peru and is seeking political asylum there, prosecutors in Caracas said Wednesday.

In Peru’s capital, Venezuelan opposition leader Manuel Rosales made his first public appearance in more than three weeks, calling the charges against him trumped-up and heaping ridicule on Chavez, his political rival in 2006 presidential elections.

“A democrat doesn’t turn himself in to a dictator,” Rosales said. He called Chavez a “coward” and vowed to “keep confronting this abusive totalitarian regime, which violates human rights.”

You damned folks must be crazy!

To believe in a right to keep and bear arms! Crazy! Crazy this Liberal says!

Bravo, Tom Mauser. I was in England in 1998 when two U.S. Capitol policemen were slaughtered by a gunman who snuck inside the Capitol building with a weapon and opened fire. A British TV correspondent reporting from the scene said that not even this unthinkable crime would prompt Americans to increase gun control laws (implying that in England, where gun ownership is much more restricted, such a crime would lead to even tougher regulations). We sit idly by while the gun lobby lulls Americans into ignoring the rising cacophony of gunfire ricocheting through cities and towns, across school yards, to the hilltops and beyond. Other countries watch us and think we’re crazy, because, guess what, we are!

Crazy? No, some happen to believe in a right to self-defense, and hundreds of thousands use gun to do so every year. The Left can go on being outraged that we allow guns to exist, and to be bought, and carried by Americans. Yet they never consider that guns are overwhelmingly a positive in our society.

H/T Conservsative Scalawag who raises a great point about what other rights the Left might also find “crazy”
