George Tiller gunned down in church
A Despicable act that is already being used by the Leftists like Andrew Sullivan who are all too happy to play politics with this.
No, I was no fan of Tiller, he was, in my estimation an evil man, but the cold-blooded murder of Tiller is nothing but an evil, cowardly act that must be condemned by all. So must any pro-lifer who cheers at Tiller’s death. The right thing to do now is to offer prayers for Dr. Tiller’s family, and the family of the delusional man that murdered Dr. Tiller.
This act will no doubt create calls from the Left for more gun laws, and will heap blame on everyone who is a Christian, pro-life, Conservative, and OF course they will seek to paint everyone on the right as terrorists, murderers, and let’s see how many times we here about “Christianists” being responsible.
The Left will use this as another way to intimidate those opposed to abortions into silence. I fear the Left will also use this tp push for laws that punish certain speech they disagree with. The old “Conservative talk radio and Conservative bloggers cause this type of thing to happen” cards will be played.
Of course, all the reaction from the Right I have seen is to be applauded. Unlike the Left, the Right is not looking to exploit this. Instead take a sampling of these comments.

Dr. Tiller was known for performing late term abortions, an act I consider unspeakably evil. Dr. Tiller’s murder is no less evil.
It is not given to us to mete out justice. That right is neither given to us by the laws of man nor the laws of God. Tiller’s actions were in accordance with the laws of man in this country. He was given that right through a legitimate legal process and that right has been upheld in our courts. I believe that Tiller violated God’s law and as a Christian, I believe I have a responsibility to speak out against the travesty of abortion. However, I also know that God did not invest in me the power to administer His judgment or his justice.
I am not so naïve that I don’t know that there those on my side of the abortion debate who were gladdened by the news of Dr. Tiller’s murder. I would ask them, what positive benefit will arise from this act?

Kansas has the death penalty and it should be on the table in the sentencing of Tiller’s assassin. I don’t advocate the death penalty, but that is Kansas law, and I agree with her. Contradictory? Yeah, I guess. This was an act of terrorism, as well as of murder. It was no more or less an act of political assassination than any of the bombings advocated by Bill Ayers. It was no more or less a violation of civil rights than the New Black Panther polling intimidation that the Obama Justice Department decided to drop ex post facto. There is either one justice for all, or there is justice for none.

Also, the murderer sent Mr. Tiller to face his Maker with very little chance to repent for his sins. That is not the mark of a true Christian, to say the least. Whatever the motive of the crime, the horror it evokes always inspires a draconian response, and involves other consequences never intended by the criminal.

Self-Censorship? Not a good idea for Conservatives
Brilliant post at Saber Point that points out how foolish the GOP is for allowing Democrats to define the boundaries for Republicans.
Those rules are that Republicans cannot criticize any Democrat who is of a minority extraction, whether they be hispanic or black; to do so shall be judged “racism” with no appeal. However, this rule shall not be applied to Democrats. They can demean and insult Republicans of minority descent until Hell freezes over, but that’s fair game. It is an egregious double standard that was invented specifically for the purpose of shutting up Republicans.
These well-entrenched “rules” cause Republicans to self-censor. Quite a few have now concluded that we cannot oppose Sotomayor on the High Court simply because of her race; that to do so will bring charges of racism; and that we will lose the hispanic vote.
Rush says we should no longer play the game by the Democrats’ rules, but should boldly criticize and oppose far-left candidates regardless of their membership in any ethnic group. Yes, they will call us racists, but they always call us racists. Let them.
No we won’t lose the hispanic vote because we don’t have it to lose. Bush appointed hispanics to the courts and those hispanics were viciously denounced and opposed by the Democrats. Both Bush and McCain looked the other way on illegal immigration. It didn’t help them with hispanics.
This is precisely the same point I have raised for years now. Democrats say what they want about Conservatives. They throw charges of racism, and sexism around without care. They want to A) throw enough mud at us that some sticks. and B) Intimdate us into silence.

The U.S. Army is set to start testing a computerized, high-tech projectile launcher that can take out bad guys hiding around corners and in caves or trenches, even if they’re out of the soldier’s line of sight.Some experts call it the “Judge Dredd” gun, after the Sylvester Stallone movie. The Pentagon calls it the XM-25 Individual Air Burst Weapon, which uses a laser rangefinder to precisely measure the distance to a target, then primes a fuse on a timed grenade so that the projectile explodes exactly where it should.
“The way a soldier operates this is you basically find your target, then laze to it, which gives the range, then you get an adjusted aim point, adjust fire and pull the trigger,” deputy program manager Richard Audette told Army News Service. “Say you’ve lazed out to 543 meters … when you pull the trigger it arms the round and fires it 543 meters plus or minus a one-, two- or three-meter increment, then it explodes over the target.”

The “waterboarding” consisted of just pouring a buttload water from a pitcher into his mouth until he coughed it up.

But, I will add this, Mr. Mancow Mandouche,’s stunt was a slap at our military and intelligence agents. By misrepresenting what waterboarding REALLY is, he painted false images of those brave men and women.

Slublog catches the NY Tmes in some racial double standards where Sonia Sotomayor and Clarence Thomas are concerned. According to the Times Sotomayor is a great choice and a step towards greater diversity. Remember kids diversity, when approved of by the Left is good!
But, diversity, when it is not stamped with the Liberal Seal of Approval, well, is nothing but divisive!
See, minorities who are Liberal are GOOD! Minorities who are Conservative are BAD! The Liberal logic teaches that minorities are SUPPOSED to be Liberal! If not, then they are to be scorned!
Funny, to me, that whole business of trying to tie political ideology to skin color sounds kind of, well, racist!
Nancy Pelosi is a very scary woman
And I am not the only one frightened by her recent statements on climate change. It is a case of the Left, yet AGAIN, creating some “human right” that does not exist. In this case it is the right to a “clean environment”. The most troubling aspect of course, is not the Left’s frequent effors to create new “human rights”. The worst part is how they often use the pursuit of these so-called rights, as excuses to squash other actual rights
“I do see this opportunity for climate change to be … a game-changer,” she said at Tsinghua. “It’s a place where human rights — looking out for the needs of the poor in terms of climate change and healthy environment — are a human right.”
To achieve this, Pelosi said governments would have to make decisions and choices based on science.
“They also have to do it with openness, transparency and accountability to the people,” she said. “Everyone has to have their situation improved by it.”
In answering a question from a student about how Pelosi was going to get Americans to cut back on their carbon emissions, the leading Democratic lawmaker said it was important to educate children on how to conserve energy and for citizens to build more environmentally friendly homes.
“We have so much room for improvement,” she said. “Every aspect of our lives must be subjected to an inventory … of how we are taking responsibility.”
Every aspect of our lives? That is a damned scary thought isn’t it? And to think, Leftists like Pelosi are slowly trying to set up a time when they can foist their twisted ideals of “human rights” upon us, whether we agree or not. You can see where the talk of basic human rights is leading right? First we convince people that climate change, based upon politically corrected science of course, is a direct threat to their human rights. To stop this travesty they will tell us, “every aspect” of our lives must be examined, and of course, changes will be prescribed to help fix the crisis, a crisis that the Leftists invented of course.
Once that is achieved, and enough of us are suitably convinced that this is a noble fight for our “human rights” then, naturally, we will be willing to undergo Leftist examinations of “every aspect” of our lives. If that means sacrificing actual Constitutional rights, on the altar of Leftism, then we will be expected to do it or else!
So, do you want your liberties? Those Liberties that America’s Founders believed came not from government, not from men, but from our Creator. Do you want to preserve those rights?
Do you wish to control your own course in life? Raise your kids according to your values? Own property? Eat what you want? Drive the vehicle you choose to? Live in any home you can afford? Keep it at the temperature that you are comfortable in? Do you want to be able to live without Leftist overlords dictating “every aspect” of your life?
Or do you want to have your actual freedoms monitored and restricted in the false pursuit of rights that do not exist, and that can never be achieved by the means the Left will prescribe?
The choice is still ours, for now.

“It became clear to us that Chrysler does not see the wisdom of terminating 25 percent of its dealers. It really wasn’t Chrysler’s decision. They are under enormous pressure from the president’s automotive task force,” said attorney Leonard Bellavia.
Bellavia zeroed in on the fundamental problem with Obama’s takeover of two of Detroit Big Three — something is terribly wrong when the government tells corporations who to hire and fire, what products to sell, and who will be their dealers.
“What is the next task force? Shoe stores? Pizzerias?” Bellavia said. “The problem we have is the free enterprise system is not run by the government, it’s run by business entrepreneurs. The dealers themselves will decide if it’s not productive to go forward.”
In view of these facts, when is the mainstream media going to challenge Obama to explain why he thinks he can do a better job running car companies than can the shareholders, bondholders and dealers? And where in the Constitution does it say the president has such authority in the first place?
More to the point, when is the mainstream media going to start calling what Obama is doing what it is, which at the very least is a crude kind of South American, crony statism. Given the Chicago roots of Obama and his chief of staff, the phrase used recently by The Examiner’s Michael Barone is probably most accurate — “gangster government.”

A man who called 911 to complain that McDonald’s left a juice box out of his drive-through order was arrested on Monday, Portland television station KPTV reported.
Raibin Osman appeared before a Washington County judge Tuesday on a charge of misusing emergency services. He said he called emergency dispatchers after the drive-through employee wouldn’t come back to the window to give him a juice box.

North Korea’s military says it considers South Korea’s participation in a U.S.-led program to intercept ships suspected of spreading weapons of mass destruction tantamount to a declaration of war against the North.
The communist North’s military said in a statement Wednesday that it will respond with “immediate, strong military measures” if the South actually stops and searches any North Korean ships under the Proliferation Security Initiative.
The statement, carried by the North’s Korean Central News Agency, said North Korea no longer considers itself bound by the armistice that ended the Korean War, as a protest over the South’s participation.
It is time to lay down the law Mr. President! North Korea is testing you, what will you have America do? Will we stand strong? Or will you let us be seen as weak?

Is it okay to show your patriotism at the office?
For one Arlington woman, the answer was “no” after she hung an American flag in her office just before the Memorial Day weekend.
Debbie McLucas is one of four hospital supervisors at Kindred Hospital in Mansfield. Last week, she hung a three-by-five foot American flag in the office she shares with the other supervisors.
When McLucas came to work Friday, her boss told her another supervisor had found her flag offensive. “I was just totally speechless. I was like, ‘You’re kidding me,’” McLucas said.
Talk about stuck on stoopit!
