Useless Nations scolds North Korea
They might be so displeased with Lil Kim testing nukes that they might pass get tough with sanctions, but just maybe!
The UN Security Council acted with unusual alacrity and unanimity to condemn North Korea’s underground nuclear test this weekend, threatening new sanctions … but not actually imposing any. Kim Jong-Il took the measure of the UNSC and of global leadership, and responded with a barrage of short-range missile launches, testing his weaponry and rattling his saber:
North Korea, defiant in the face of international condemnation of its latest nuclear test, fired two more short-range missiles off its east coast on Tuesday and accused the United States of plotting against its government.
In a move certain to compound tensions in the region, South Korea said it would join a U.S.-led initiative to intercept ships suspected of carrying weapons of mass destruction, something Pyongyang has warned it would consider a declaration of war.
Oh, what would the world do without the UN?

Sister Toldjah topless?
Well, no sorry fellas, but one of my favorite bloggers is talking about whether or not women have a right to go topless so just calm down boys.
I’ve been honoring the sacrifices our soldiers have made by exercising my right to free speech in debating at a political forum over whether or not women being banned from being able to go out in public topless is “unconstitutional” because it “discriminates” against women. The liberal argument goes something like this: Men are not banned from doing so, so why should women be? My response has been to repeatedly point out that it is not “discrimination” because men are required to cover up their, ahem, private parts in public, too. The response then is only one sex is allowed to bare their “breasts.” My response was to point out that men’s “breasts” were not a sexual part of their anatomy. And then there was an attempt at defining “sexual anatomy.” Sigh. It just went on and on.
I should point out – purely for the record – that not a single woman joined in the thread to argue the side that the (liberal and libertarian) males were arguing. Those males claimed their arguments were purely based on their concern that women were being “oppressed” – and one pointed to a couple of court cases (lower – state level) where the court agreed.
My take is very simple. It is like this. There is GOOD topless, and BAD topless. Halle Berry topless, YES! Rosie O’Dinell topless? NO!

A silly question
Will the Left apologize to Bolton ? William Jacobson makes a great observation and asks a question we all know the answer to
On May 20, 2009, John Bolton wrote an op-ed for The Wall Street Journal titled “Get Ready for Another North Korean Nuke Test” in which he noted that the complacency of the Obama administration about North Korea’s nuclear ambitions (and Iran’s) was misplaced:
“The curtain is about to rise again on the long-running nuclear tragicomedy, “North Korea Outwits the United States.” Despite Kim Jong Il’s explicit threats of another nuclear test, U.S. Special Envoy Stephen Bosworth said last week that the Obama administration is “relatively relaxed” and that “there is not a sense of crisis.” They’re certainly smiling in Pyongyang.”
As usual, the Left lashed out at Bolton, who may be third after George Bush and Dick Cheney in being portrayed as crazy and paranoid. Bolton has been derided as “the neocon’s neocon” who “laps up the hosannas of fellow knuckle-draggers.”
Should they apologize and admit they were wrong? Hell yes! Will they? Hell no! They will just reinvent histry, blame Bush and people like Bolton for the evil intentions of North Korea, and Iran, and go back to their insulated world where everything is America’s fault!
Obama: worse than the worst?
I have often referred to Jimmy carter as the worst US president ever, I am sure many of y’all would agree with that estimation of him. I also said during the 2008 campaign that Obama was just another Carter. This writer would disagree with me. According to him, Obama is worse!
After Obama assumed office in January, whatever hesitation that existed in North Korea’s policy-making circles regarding the likely response of U.S. administration has disappeared, and its leadership now feels it can defy the U.S. and the international community with impunity.
A series of actions taken by the Obama administration have created an impression in Iran, the “Af-Pak” region, China and North Korea that Obama does not have the political will to retaliate decisively to acts that are detrimental to U.S. interests, and to international peace and security.
Among such actions, one could cite: the soft policy toward Iran: the reluctance to articulate strongly U.S. determination to support the security interests of Israel; the ambivalent attitude toward Pakistan despite its continued support to anti-India terrorist groups and its ineffective action against the sanctuaries of Al-Qaida and the Taliban in Pakistani territory; its silence on the question of the violation of the human rights of the Burmese people and the continued illegal detention of Aung San Suu Kyi by the military regime in Myanmar; and its silence on the Tibetan issue

The Left has long held America’s super power status in distain. They deemed America “arrogant” long before they had George W. Bush to kick around and they won’t be happy, if they are capable of happiness, until they’ve seen America humbled in the eyes of the world. Now that they have a friend in the White House, that awful day seems destined to come sooner rather than later.
The Left has indeed held our military might and status as a super power in disdain. It is one of the very first things I noted about the Left when I was a boy. They see American might as an inherent blight upon the globe. And, sadly,they have been trying to undermine that strength for decades now.
Should the succeed, the world will pay a price that is impossible for any of us to grasp. If not for America, the Soviets would have spread the evil of Communsim, and yes, Communism is the single biggest evil ever to stalk this earth. We still face evil today, and the Left is still on the wrong side of this titanic struggle.
Carter was too stupid or too much in ideological agreement with Communism to stand up to it in any meaningful way. I fear Obama is no better, if not, as the writer suggests,worse.

Sure North Korea has gulags, and their people starve
But, Ted Turner says he visited there and the people all looked well to him, plus they have a waterslide, so it must be on OK place right? WRONG!
Grandsons are condemned to life-long terms as slave laborers alongside their grandfathers, both equally helpless in the brutal surroundings. Prisoners are arbitrarily murdered by security guards. Women suffer from forced abortions at the hands of unlicensed doctors. Newborn babies are beaten to death. And sons and daughters are publicly executed in front of their mothers.
This is not the story of an age of slavery from centuries past or of a survivor of Nazi Germany’s Holocaust. It is what is happening at this moment inside the gulags of North Korea. The stories of gulag survivors are often too horrible to believe for the citizens of civilized countries. If one were to have the opportunity to speak with a survivor of a North Korean gulag, what they would reveal might be well beyond the threshold of the listener’s imagination. Chul Hwan Kang became the first of many defectors to follow when he arrived in South Korea in 1992 having survived detention in living hell. He served in the labor camp for political prisoners called “Yoduk” from the age of 9 to 19 for the sole reason that his grandfather was accused of criticizing the North Korean regime.
Kang recounts his experience as a young person in the camps stating that children would spend the day beginning at 6 o’clock in the morning working hard manual labor. The failure to accomplish the work quota may result in reduced food rations. At age 17, he was less than 150 centimeters tall (5 feet) and weighed about 40 kilograms (88 pounds). In fact, Kang’s size was characteristic of all detained children, whose growth was universally retarded by continuous malnutrition and brutality. Girls were no taller than 145 centimeters by their late teens and were never cleaner than boys. With unkempt hair and lacking the nutrition critical to adolescent development, they did not look like girls, forced to become part of an androgynous and anonymous prison population.
The Other McCain is a…..
I always knew there was something about that guy, besides his blogging genius, there had to be a darker side to R. S. McCain, and Lance Burri has found it. Well, actually, the blogging guru found it himself. It seems that McCain, like every other outspoken Conservative has been smeared by the Left, shocking that the Left would try to smear a Conservative I know. And, because McCain dares to be a Southerner, and is White, that is two strikes there buddy, and a Conservative, third strike, then he MUST be a racist hate-mongering bigot who likely runs down stray cats on his riding lawn mower, listens to talk radio, prays, and probably doesn’t recycle either!
Still, knowing allof this, I kinda like McCain, he is one of my blogging role models, not my favorite blogging role model, but still, he is OK in my book. Now if he and Lance Burri, another great blogger were fans of this team they would rise even higher in my view. Not as high as her of course but still, she, like my beloved Gators has championships!

Today in Athens for the second consecutive day a few hundred Muslim immigrants were involved in clashes with the police, one of whom was accused of stealing a copy of the Koran and beating a Muslim. Over 1,000 people were involved in protests after spontaneous demonstrations yesterday, during which violence took place with bottles and rocks being thrown, causing the police to intervene with tear-gas. Numerous people were taken into custody. The protest, which was announced yesterday, began this afternoon in the centrally-located Omonia Square, with people chanting ‘Allah is Great’ and ‘Stop racism’, while holding copies of the Koran, despite the fact that authorities said yesterday that they would investigate into the accusations against the police officer.
People, it is a BOOK, no one in their right mind riots over a book!
