Poll: 84% of Americans are racist or something
Because we have been told by the political correctors that making English the official language is racist right?
Who is ready to pay more for a car?
Hey, if we are expected to pay more for beer , and sodas for Socialist health care, then we better expect to pay more for cars to pay for a cleaner planet!
Nobody in the White House is going to call the president’s “mileage and pollution” plan what it is.
It’s a $1,300 car tax. On the working class. On the middle class. On everyone who has responded to the government’s consumption-mania incentives — loosened credit, tax deductions — and bought/planned to buy a new car without taking into account these unanticipated costs:
President Barack Obama wants drivers to go farther on a gallon of gas and cause less damage to the environment — and be willing to pick up the tab.
Obama on Tuesday planned to announce the first-ever national emissions limits for cars and trucks, as well as require a 35.5 miles per gallon standard. Consumers should expect to pay an extra $1,300 per vehicle by the time the plan is complete in 2016, officials said…
…Administration officials said consumers were going to pay an extra $700 for mileage standards that had already been approved. The comprehensive Obama plan would add another $600 to the price of a vehicle, a senior administration official said.
The extra miles would come at roughly a 5 percent increase each year. By the time the plan takes full effect, at the end of 2016, new vehicles would cost an extra $1,300.
That official said the cost would be recovered through savings at the pump for consumers who choose a standard 60-month car loan and if gas prices follow government projections.
As Michelle points out, this is a tax plain and simple. And like all taxes, yes, I said ALL taxes, they will hurt the working Americans the hardest. But hey, that is the price of Marxist aims. The backs of the workers must be broken, their liberty usurped, and their ability to guide the ship of their own life must be crushed.
And of course, you can expect that $1300 price tag to go up. And jobs? Yes,expect this to cost those too, but I suppose no price is too high for Utopia right?
Biden’s latest
Did you know someone fired on Crazy Uncle’s Joe’s plane in Bosnia? As AllahPundit points out, if Joe IS embellishing this, it would not be the first time. But AP DOES give Joe the nod on this
I think he’s telling the truth this time. Granted, he’s (a) a moron, (b) a confirmed plagiarist, (c) been caught exaggerating his escapades in war zones at least twice before, but that’s the whole point. Law of averages, people. One of these days he’s bound to stumble into an honest account. If not now, when?
Like the blind hog Joe is. He will find that acorn of truth sometimes.
The next cash cow for our greedy government?
Details of the proposed beer tax are described in a Senate Finance Committee document distributed to lawmakers before a closed-door meeting Wednesday. Senators are focusing on how to pay for expanding health insurance for an estimated 50 million uninsured Americans, a cost that could range to some $1.5 trillion over 10 years.
You can’t raise that from beer money alone.
Lawmakers are looking at an extensive list of spending cuts and tax increases, including a new levy on the value of job-based health insurance. The latter proposal seems to be gaining ground. It could lead to higher income taxes for some people with particularly generous job-based health care.
No decisions were expected at the meeting, but Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, D-Mont., will use the feedback to shape legislation he intends to introduce in the next few weeks.
While many of the revenue raisers involve obscure provisions of federal law, most consumers can relate to a beer tax.
Taxes on wine and hard liquor would also go up.
That’s right kids. Look, I told everyone that our government, being the spedaholics they are, would have to start taxing “bad” behaviors to pay for the Socialist Utopian health care didn’t I? Well, they could not stop at taxing sodas, so, it is on to beer now! Oh, and yes, if you get insurance from your employer? You are getting taxed too!
What next? Junk food? Likely, but hey you meat eaters? You are on the tax list too. Don’t worry, they will get to you too.
That damned Blog Pox got me!
Troglo Pundit, who is OK for a Big Ten fan seems to have gotten me with the dreaded Filthy Blog Pox, so, I have to now share eight random things about me. And then pass it on to another blogger!
So, here goes.
My favorite author is Dean Koontz, I love his writing, but his Conservative/Liberatrian politics come through in his books.
I also love history, my favorite topic is the ar Between the States. I have read hundreds of books on the war, the leaders, soldiers, battles, and love giving historical talks on the War.
I rarely sit down during Florida Gator football games, Iam just too nervous if we play a big game.
The blogger I would most like to meet, would be Michelle Malkin.
If I won the Lotto, I would buy a cabin in the Rockies, hike every day, and blog at night. I would also have my own sports bar in my home, with pool tables, big screens, and full bar to have friends over.
I have always, and likely will always buy and drive Fords.
Favorite TV show ever? Seinfeld, period!
I once wanted to be a sportscaster, and used to do play by play when I watched games as a kid. And yes, I would be better than most of the ones doing it today!
Now, who will I infect? Hmmm, how about Sister Toldjah?
No updates today
I am exhausted, my eyes are killing me from allergies, and my stomach is not doing me any favors either, then there is the lack of sleep lately. Man, I sound like a whiner!
Anyway, apologies for my under the weatherness kids. See y’all tomorrow!
Indocrinating the kids
Pirate’s Cove has the latest example of how schools are being used to indoctrinate rather than educate
They said if George Bush Barack Obama was elected president, sex ed would be taught at the kindergarten level. And they were right
A California school district seems intent on teaching pre-school children to accept the homosexual lifestyle.
The Alameda Unified School District announced it was considering a supplemental curriculum to eradicate “homophobia” in kindergarten children. Brad Dacus, founder of the Pacific Justice Institute (PJI), said the meeting room for the public session earlier this week was overcrowded with angry parents.
Do the words age-appropriate mean anything? Anything at all. This is a school supplanting the parent’s rightful role as, well, parents!
The Gaffetastical Joe Biden!
MichelleMalkin runs down a list of what I think must now just be referred to as Bidenisms!
Socialized medicine is GREAT! Unless you, like, need medical care of course
Why does the Left wajt to bring this miserable failure to America?
Canadians often wait months or even years for necessary care. For some, the status quo has become so dire that they have turned to the courts for recourse. Several cases currently before provincial courts provide studies in what Americans could expect from government-run health insurance.
In Ontario, Lindsay McCreith was suffering from headaches and seizures yet faced a four and a half month wait for an MRI scan in January of 2006. Deciding that the wait was untenable, Mr. McCreith did what a lot of Canadians do: He went south, and paid for an MRI scan across the border in Buffalo. The MRI revealed a malignant brain tumor.
Ontario’s government system still refused to provide timely treatment, offering instead a months-long wait for surgery. In the end, Mr. McCreith returned to Buffalo and paid for surgery that may have saved his life. He’s challenging Ontario’s government-run monopoly health-insurance system, claiming it violates the right to life and security of the person guaranteed by the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
Shona Holmes, another Ontario court challenger, endured a similarly harrowing struggle. In March of 2005, Ms. Holmes began losing her vision and experienced headaches, anxiety attacks, extreme fatigue and weight gain. Despite an MRI scan showing a brain tumor, Ms. Holmes was told she would have to wait months to see a specialist. In June, her vision deteriorating rapidly, Ms. Holmes went to the Mayo Clinic in Arizona, where she found that immediate surgery was required to prevent permanent vision loss and potentially death. Again, the government system in Ontario required more appointments and more tests along with more wait times. Ms. Holmes returned to the Mayo Clinic and paid for her surgery.
On the other side of the country in Alberta, Bill Murray waited in pain for more than a year to see a specialist for his arthritic hip. The specialist recommended a “Birmingham” hip resurfacing surgery (a state-of-the-art procedure that gives better results than basic hip replacement) as the best medical option. But government bureaucrats determined that Mr. Murray, who was 57, was “too old” to enjoy the benefits of this procedure and said no. In the end, he was also denied the opportunity to pay for the procedure himself in Alberta. He’s heading to court claiming a violation of Charter rights as well.
These constitutional challenges, along with one launched in British Columbia last month, share a common goal: to win Canadians the freedom to spend their own money to protect themselves from the inadequacies of the government health-insurance system.
The cases find their footing in a landmark ruling on Quebec health insurance in 2005. The Supreme Court of Canada found that Canadians suffer physically and psychologically while waiting for treatment in the public health-care system, and that the government monopoly on essential health services imposes a risk of death and irreparable harm. The Supreme Court ruled that Quebec’s prohibition on private health insurance violates citizen rights as guaranteed by that province’s Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms.
The experiences of these Canadians — along with the untold stories of the 750,794 citizens waiting a median of 17.3 weeks from mandatory general-practitioner referrals to treatment in 2008 — show how miserable things can get when government is put in charge of managing health insurance.

Your Marxist Moron of the Day
Roger Cohen, columnist for the NY Times, spewing the same old Hey, let’s appease the tyrants and dictators nonsense that the Left never evolves past. Here is the money quote
So here’s what Obama should say to Netanyahu when he says Arab states have identical fears over Iran:
“We’re aware of this, Mr. Prime Minister, which is why we sent Defense Secretary Robert Gates and others to reassure Arab allies. But the U.S. interest is not served by the Mideast status quo. Our interest lies in new region-wide security arrangements that promote a two-state peace, end 30 years of non-communication with Iran, and ultimately afford Israel a brighter future. You can’t build settlements and expect Iran’s influence to diminish.”
When Netanyahu demurs, Obama should add: “And you know what the Arabs tell me in private? That Israeli use of force against Iran would be a disaster. And that it’s impossible to tell Iran it can’t have nukes when Israel has them. They say that’s a double standard. And you know what? They may have a point.”
Cohen seems addicted to moral equivalence retardation here. Israel has no choice but to be prepared and able to defend itself with overwhelming force. There are bad peole, and bad national leaders who do not want peace, or harmony, of to get along.
Expecting Israel to disarm inthe face of hostile enemies is akin to expecting a citizen to have a dialogue with rapists or car jackers. Israel, the nation, has a right, no, a DUTY to defend it’s people, just as any citizen has the duty to defend themselves from evil doers. Surrendering that right will not lead to peace, it will only lead to destruction for Istrael.
Israel National News asks the question of the day
Hey, Obama just whose side are you on anyway?
Even as the would-be Hitler of Persia, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, races towards the nuclear finish-line, the man sitting in the White House is doing little to stop him. Indeed, as the Financial Times reports today, the Obama administration seems more concerned about Israel defending itself against Iran than about the Ayatollah’s atomic ambitions.
According to the FT, CIA Chief Leon Panetta paid a secret visit to Israel two weeks ago. His goal was not to reassure the Jewish state or even allay its fears of a second Holocaust. Instead, his primary objective was to make sure that Israel does not attack Iran’s nuclear installations without notifying the US in advance.
Doesn’t the head of the CIA have better things to do with his time?
It seems that Washington is beginning to panic over a possible Israeli response much more than over the likelihood of Tehran being able to pull the nuclear trigger. Does this make sense?
If Israel is America’s closest ally in the region, then why is Obama trying to tie the Jewish state’s hands in the face of an existential threat? Whose side is Obama on?
To all those American Jews who cast their ballots for Barack Obama in last November’s US Presidential election, it is time to admit the folly of your vote. By putting him in the Oval Office, you might just have endangered the future of the Jewish state.
Yes, Mr. President,I would like to have answer for that as well. And hopefully that will not take until the end of the year
Some Obamatastic Change I can dig
The GOP has tied the Democrats in party identification. Will Obama be as good at creating Republicans as he has been at selling guns?
I sure “hope” so
Your Sunday evening musical escape
How about some Werewolves of London
Then some Outlaws Ghost Riders in the Sky
Some folks just want the GOP to be irrelevant I guess
Y’all know by now about the new blog Not One Red Cent my newest post is up there btw, go and read it, I think it sums up the efforts of those involved fairly well.
Some folks do not understand the effort though. Some Republicans see any effort to support a more Conservative candidate, or in this case to get the Republican elites to listen to the grass roots folks, as a disaster for the Republican Party. They are obsessed with leaving the old bad GOP behind and building a broader-based, less “extreme” party. In other words a party with no spine, no heart, no soul, and no firm ideals.
R S McCain just posted a well-deserved smackdown to one such Meghan McCain Republican who thinks we are all nutty conspiracy theorists
Michelle “Guns” Obama to grads, GIVE BACK!
OK good advice, but what she should have sais is “Give back, don’t be like Barack and I. Now that would be GREAT advice!
Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and his wife Michelle gave $10,772 of the $1.2 million they earned from 2000 through 2004 to charities, or less than 1 percent, according to tax returns for those years released today by his campaign. The Obamas increased the amount they gave to charity when their income rose in 2005 and 2006 after the Illinois senator published a bestselling book. The $137,622 they gave over those two years amounted to more than 5 percent of their $2.6 million income.
What they give, or gave, is entirely THEIR business. It is, after all, THEIR money. But if they are going to talk the talk……
