Video-Chrissy Matthews goes off again
And a new term enters or lexicon thanks to Matthews! CHENEY TALK! Matthews has lost any credibility as a non-partisan long ago, even before he started having Obamagasms on national TV but this is sad. Congressman Ford, a Democrat, says that yes, he would have voted for enhanced interrogations after 9-11 if it could have stopped an attack on a US city. Matthews response? He starts jabbering about Cheney talk, and how there was no nuclear threat, and how Bush and Cheney lied, blah, blah…..
The interesting thing is, Ford never mentioned a nuclear attack on an American city. Here is what he did say
You have to remember when this was occurring. This is 2002, 2003. The country was in a different place, in a different space. And if you were to say to me, as an American, put aside my partisanship, that we have an opportunity to gain information that would prevent the destruction of an American city, to prevent killings in American cities, and we have to use certain techniques, I’m one of those Americans that would have voted a certain way, Chris. And that polling said it might have been torture, but I’m not as outraged.
See, nothing about a nuke, yet Matthews starts babbling about nukes, and evidence, and Cheney. No wonder MSNBC has rating lower than Keith Olbermann’s approval among his former girlfriends. Here is the video. One final thought, shouldn’t Matthews be damning Pelosi for her approval and knowledge of the “torture” Matthews is so upset about?

OK,here it is, healthcare, make that government-run health care is good for you, sodas? Well they are full of sugar, and are bad for you. Since sodas are bad, and government care is good, but expensive, really expensive, (rationing care is gonna cost a bunch), the Nannny Staters are going to tax sodas, to pay for government health care. See, it is for your own damn good!
Dems are considering new taxes on sodas and sugary drinks to help pay for the nationalized healthcare monstrosity they are about to impose on America.
The Wall Street Journal reported:Senate leaders are considering new federal taxes on soda and other sugary drinks to help pay for an overhaul of the nation’s health-care system.
The taxes would pay for only a fraction of the cost to expand health-insurance coverage to all Americans and would face strong opposition from the beverage industry. They also could spark a backlash from consumers who would have to pay several cents more for a soft drink.
On Tuesday, the Senate Finance Committee is set to hear proposals from about a dozen experts about how to pay for the comprehensive health-care overhaul that President Barack Obama wants to enact this year. Early estimates put the cost of the plan at around $1.2 trillion. The administration has so far only earmarked funds for about half of that amount.
The Center for Science in the Public Interest, a Washington-based watchdog group that pressures food companies to make healthier products, plans to propose a federal excise tax on soda, certain fruit drinks, energy drinks, sports drinks and ready-to-drink teas. It would not include most diet beverages. Excise taxes are levied on goods and manufacturers typically pass them on to consumers.
OK, sure soda taxes, then what? Since that tax will only begin to pay for Nanny Care, what else needs taxing? What other legal product can they tax? What other behavior can they punish? Extra taxes on beef? Candy? Ice Cream? Hamburgers? BBQ? Anything that they deem to high in fat, salt, sugar, calories, etc? Come on America, you wanted change? Pony up, time to be patriotic like Joe Biden said.

Good grief Jimmy Carter, whose energy policies were a disater advising Obama to emulate his actions? What next, is Joe Biden going to advise Obama to follow his lead in public speaking? I mean following Carter’s lead? What could possibly go wrong?
Jimmy Carter, who presidend over the oil crisis of 1979, told Congress Tuesday that America’s energy challenges are deeper and more urgent today than when he was president, but the solutions are the same.
In testimony to the Foreign Relations Committee, Carter called on Congress to make energy independence a top national priority and urged a comprehensive approach that could blunt the influence of lobbyists. Such special interests worked diligently to scuttle his energy initiatives during his presidency, Carter said.
The former president told the panel that such a universal approach was the only strategy that worked when he led the country through the oil and gas crunch of the late 1970s, which resulted in long lines snaking around gas stations and some states resorting to gas rationing. The complexity of the problems required a diverse answer at the time, Carter said, much like today’s crises.
“There needs to be an omnibus proposal that is addressed collectively,” Carter said. “No single element of it can be separated from the others.”
Carter’s comments come amid resistance by some lawmakers to President Barack Obama’s proposals to close oil and gas tax loopholes. Carter recalled how senators from oil-rich states teamed up with lobbyists to derail much of his initial energy legislation in 1977.

Harold Koh, the nominee for Legal Adviser to the State Department, supports “the global regulation of small arms” and a “global gun control regime.” And he believes it is “needlessly provocative” for any U.S. representative to refer to the right to bear arms when speaking to a foreign audience: the very mention of the Second Amendment, apparently, is offensive. That has very serious implications for domestic policy, but what does Koh want to do with the legal, international arms trade? The answer is simple: he wants to ban it.

Congratualations to Carrie Prejean, and kudos to Donald Trump for not caving in to the Leftists. Trump made a great point today, saying that the views expressed by Prejean are the SAME as those of President Obama. A point the Left is refusing to even acknowledge.

An insider told us, “Those tickets were harder to get than gold dust and Meghan blatantly only had two and thought she didn’t have to follow the same rules as everyone else.”

Officials in the governor’s office say a politically powerful union may have had inappropriate influence over the Obama administration’s decision to withhold billions of dollars in federal stimulus money from California if the state does not reverse a scheduled wage cut for the labor group’s workers.
The officials say they are particularly troubled that the Service Employees International Union, which lobbied the federal government to step in, was included in a conference call in which state and federal officials reviewed the wage cut and the terms of the stimulus package.
Hmmm, very interesting set of circumstances. Of course may these folks were just making sure that they got their money’s worth?

In its effort to overhaul health care, Congress is planning to give employers sweeping new authority to reward employees for healthy behavior, including better diet, more exercise, weight loss and smoking cessation.
A web of federal rules limits what employers and insurers can do now.
Congress is seriously considering proposals to provide tax credits or other subsidies to employers who offer wellness programs that meet federal criteria. In addition, lawmakers said they would make it easier for employers to use financial rewards or penalties to promote healthy behavior among employees.
In other words, Big Brother is coming to your kitchen, to the gym with you, and is that Nancy Pelosi watching you across the bar?

Eric Stucky said he had every intention of shooting the man he caught breaking into his home Friday morning in the 2000 block of S.W. West Trail Road.
Lucky for the burglar, he didn’t try to escape or make a threatening move while being held at gunpoint.
Pointing his .357-caliber Desert Eagle at the man in his home office, Stucky said he called 911 and explained the situation. He said sheriff’s deputies arrived about four minutes later and took the man into custody.
Once again, a crime prevented because of an armed citizen a citizen that would be disarmed if the gun banners had their way.
