Shown in the video below, 5 basij retreated into their headquarters to escape mob justice last night. According to the write-up on this video, the mob managed to fire the natural gas lines leading to the building. Five basij were believed dead in the explosion and fire.

Yesterday, Michael Ledeen wrote about “cracks in the regime’s instruments of repression,” noting reports that “many [IRGC] commanders” have refused to carry out orders. Further, he reprints an extraordinary appeal from several former IRGC soldiers who, on their farsi blog, accuse the regime and the IRGC of having become wholly corrupt and “calling on their brethren to defect, and join the revolution.” This is perhaps the most critical of all the faultlines, for if the security apparatus fails, there can be no doubt that the theocracy will be swept away soon after.
The question is how long will the protesterts keep going? They are already on day nine, can they keep going, and will enough of the security forces defect and join their efforts? If so, we all may be watching the beginning of a new birth of freedom for Iran.

President Barack Obama finally said what he should have been saying for days now. Better late than never I suppose.
My question would be how much harm has the delay in Obama’s statement done? Wouldn’t the protesers in Iran be better off if the president would have said this days ago?

All this makes me think is that the Senate is full of a bunch of idiots. Did we really need a resolution apologizing for slavery? Do these people have nothing better to do with their time? I hope they are only apologizing for themselves. No one I have ever met in my life owned a slave. I have nothing to be sorry for. Slavery was wrong, but I’m not the one that committed that wrong so this apology better not be on my behalf.
Well said! I mean if we ARE to start issuing apologies to dead folks, we best start with our Founders for allowing the great Constitution they gave us to become a forgotten document. How about all those veterans who died to keep us free? How do we repay them? By allowing our freedom’s to be slowly siphoned away. Good grief! Do not even get me started!
Not much of a fight really
One of my blogging role models, R.S. McCain is taking great delight in smacking Conor Friedersdorf around in a debate over what a “Conservative’ really is.
As the title of this blog post indicates, this is not really a good scrap at all. In fact, I cannot recall witnessing such a beating since my uncle Earl decided to put Christmas decorations on the neighbors roof after shaking Jim Beam’s hand three too many times. Our neighbor, a former Green Beret did not, to put it mildly, like a drunken man putting Santa and his Reigndeer on his roof. I wonder if Earl ever got that plastic Santa’s head out of his………… Ah, never mind.
Anyway, if you want to see a classic deate beat down, where NO Christmas decorations OR drunken uncle’s are defiled, here ya go
Oh, and I must note that in his beating down of Conor What His Face, McCain makes a troubling confession.
Oh, and guess what I ate for supper last night? A soy burger (Morningstar Farm Zesty Tomato Basil) on whole wheat bread. It was delicious.

I detest reality tv but posting the news that Kate and John might get divorced might get me hits. And I know that in blogging, hits are hits baby!

A good news/bad new scenario

But this depressed housing market dream is real. And Detroit, Michigan, artist Jon Brumit and his wife, Sarah, are living it.
The couple never counted on owning a home.
“It’s not that we have a little money,” Jon Brumit said, laughing. “I’m saying we have no money.”
But the couple began entertaining the idea of a permanent nest when their friends Mitch Cope and Gina Reichert, also artists, started taking advantage of foreclosures in the city, where the average home price dipped to $11,533 in April, according to the Detroit Association of Realtors.

Thomas Parkin was arrested after an alleged fraud in which he impersonated his mother Irene at the Brooklyn Department of Motor Vehicles and attempted to renew her driver’s licence.
According to authorities, Mr Parkin wore a pink jacket and a blonde wig, nail polish, lipstick and dark glasses in an attempt to convince people he was Irene, who had been dead for six years

E.. The people who use all of the aboveI am a woman but I am not aggrieved therefore, Democrats have relegated me to the “Women Who Don’t Count Club” and I am eternally grateful for it. Democrats have no use for women in my club because we can’t be used. It is a situation which I find, to borrow from my aggrieved sisters, empowering. I can dive face first in to the deep end of the libertarian pool and people in my party may shake their heads, disagree or depending on the particular issue become completely flumboozled, but so far, no one from my party has called me a c**t or kicked me to the curb. And, if there is any using going on I have to admit I use my party to further my agenda.

Well, that WOULD BE an act of war, but what would President Obama do? I know what I, as president would do, but, since I am NOT president, that is unimportant. What IS important is what our president does IF North Korea does act on it’s threat?
When America starts “diversifying” it’s armed forces
We are all screwed!
I think one of the most harmful concepts to American society is Diversity. The word is trumpeted by the left as vital in every facet of our lives. If any segment of society does not have the perfect mix of minorities then we have somehow failed and remedial action is required. I disconcur. Institutional racism has been gone for a long while now and if there are areas where minorities are under-performing then it is time for some “face in the mirror” introspection not to parrot “It’s just another lie, perpetrated by the man, tryin’ to keep a brother down”. It would be nice if we could live in the post-racial world our President claims to inhabit, but it’s still identity politics as usual. Here is a sad example.
The Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Gary Roughead announced in Annapolis recently that “diversity is the number one priority” at the Naval Academy.
The Naval Academy superintendent, Vice Adm. Jeffrey Fowler, echoed him. Everyone understands that “diversity” here means nonwhite skins.Fowler insisted recently that we needed to have Annapolis graduates who “looked like” the Fleet, where enlisted people are about 42 percent nonwhite, largely African American and Hispanic
Real diversity, of course, has nothing to do with skin color. Nothing at all. The Left is absolutely obsessed with “diversity”, but not diversity of thought, or ideals, etc. Instead, they are hung up on bean counting. That is no way to run our miitary, that is a way to ruin our military. What all our armed forces should be looking at is finding the best officers, period!

Dear Lord, please touch and heal this girl, bring her back to her loved ones safe and whole, please Lord.
