A record day
This blog enjoyed a record day yesterday, registering over 2,000 hits, for the first time, and going past 90,000 total hits early this AM. Thanks to all those who visited, and a very special thanks to Theo Spark, a great blog who posted about my naming this woman as the most beautiful ever! That link gave me TONS of hits! Awesome!
Again thanks!
ObamaCare! An ambulance chaser’s wet dream!
There is no liit to the four-letter words I want to post about this!
Just before the House leadership’s 794-page health care reform bill went to a Ways & Means markup last Thursday, a remarkable provision was slipped in that amounts to one of the more audacious and far-reaching trial lawyer power grabs seen on Capitol Hill in a while. Republicans managed to fend it off for the moment–but don’t be surprised if it shows up again down the road in some form.
The provision would have drastically widened the scope of lawsuits against what are known as Medicare third-party defendants. In the simplest scenario, Medicare has paid the bills of someone injured in, say, a car accident, and then learns that the beneficiary has successfully sued and obtained damages from the other driver. Sometimes at this point Medicare (i.e., the government) demands that the beneficiary hand over some or all of the settlement toward the cost of the health care. Under some conditions, however, it is also free to file its own lawsuit to recover the medical outlays directly from the negligent driver (who in some circumstances might even wind up covering the same medical bills twice). It might file suit directly if, for example, it does not expect to get a collectible judgment from the beneficiary.
Can’t we trade Lindsay Graham for a pack of gum or something?
Damned RINO! He likes his Liberals Bold and Edgy huh?
Another DaleyGator diagnosis! Obama suffering from Transparency Dysfunction!
See, this is when a president who promises transparency every five minutes during the campaign, can’t fulfill that promise after the election. It is kind of like Erectile Dysfunction, but worse, because with TD, the president can screw the entire nation!
Shouldn’t the public know which health care CEOs the White House is courting in its desperate attempt to save Obamacare?
Didn’t the president promise the dawn of the greatest era of sunlight and open records and transparency — and an end to the dark days of George Bush?
Uhhhhh, never mind:
It’s ALL about the “O”!
Well, when you elect some who is full of ambition to be president, this is what you get!
Recall Barack Obama whining the other day how “this isn’t about me”?
Well, that’s nonsense. Of course it’s all about him.A telling episode recounted by Senate Finance ranking member Charles Grassley reveals the Obama administration might be more worried than they are letting on that a Republican senator’s comparison of the healthcare overhaul to Waterloo might be dangerously close to the truth.
Grassley said he spoke with a Democratic House member last week who shared Obama’s bleak reaction during a private meeting to reports that some factions of House Democrats were lining up to stall or even take down the overhaul unless leaders made major changes.
“Let’s just lay everything on the table,” Grassley said. “A Democrat congressman last week told me after a conversation with the president that the president had trouble in the House of Representatives, and it wasn’t going to pass if there weren’t some changes made … and the president says, ‘You’re going to destroy my presidency.’ “
Greg Gutfeld on Deepak Chopra
So today on the Huffington Post, Deepak Chopra published yet another anti-American screed – this time lamenting the fact that we’re the last remaining superpower. He says the world would be a better place if the US just packed it in as a leader, and to quote Lennon, “give peace a chance!” In it he writes, “America leads the world in arms dealing, starting wars, and developing new methods of mechanized death,” conveniently leaving out all the incidental stuff that comes with being a heavily armed, supercool, superpower. Meaning, saving millions of lives by ending world wars, getting rid of dictators, stopping famine and assorted civil conflicts, and preventing mass disease. Chopra also hilariously vomits that “Peace is achieved by being peaceful, no matter what the military-industrial complex claims to the contrary.”
Tell that to the Iranian voters, jackass.
UGH! What is more disgusting and worthless than dog crap on the bottom of your shoe?
Why the Westboro Bastards Church of course! CassyFiano has the info on their latest publicity stunt!
When I was looking on their website to see if they were indeed claiming this video, I found this flyer stating that they’re planning to “respectfully” picket a Marine’s memorial service right here at Camp Lejeune.
God Hates America, and God is killing our troops in His wrath. Thank God for IEDs.
This message to be preached in respectful, lawful proximity to the memorial of Sgt. Michael C. Roy
Tue., July 28, at 1:15 p.m.
Camp Lejeune Protestant Chapel
New Bridge St. & E. Railroad St., Jacksonville, NCSgt. Roy gave his life for the Constitutional right of WBC to warn America. To deny us our First Amendment rights is to declare to the world that Sgt. Roy died in vain; and that America is a nation of sodomite hypocrites.
These soldiers are dying for the homosexual and other sins of America. God is now America’s enemy, and God Himself is fighting against America.
Thankfully, the Camp Lejeune Protestant Chapel is on base, so the assholes won’t be able to get near the memorial service. I felt nauseated reading that crap and watching that music video. It’s disgusting what these people are willing to do. What makes it even worse is that they’re doing it in the name of God. There is not much greater evil than that, is there?
What can you say about these miscreant bottom-feeders? Are they better than Al-qaeda? Yes, but only by a little bit.
Yes, they have a right to do what they do, but when someone decides to take a big stick to them for doing it, I am going to laugh and do the happy dance!
Updates on Erin Andrews peephole video video
DonaldDouglas has been all over this story from the beginning. And it seems everyone is reporting it, could it be an inside job? Talking about it, debating it even being covered to begin with.
Erin Andrews is rightly PO’d and is going to se the little miscreant peeping Tom nailed to the wall for this. I say GOOD FOR HER!
Some guys have all the freaking luck!
You know this kind of thing never happens to me!
As the man was lying defenceless on the ground, the women proceeded to pull off his trousers and underwear and molest him sexually before fleeing the scene.
According to police, the 50-year-old was not otherwise beaten or physically assaulted by the gang of five girls.
Of course, given my luck the women would all look like Joy Behar! UGH!
A Badger tackles health care!
I gotta say, this has potential, even if it does come from a Big Ten fan
Serious Health Care Reform Proposal:
Let the Democrats put forward three different health care reform proposals. Let the Republicans put forward two different proposals. Find five states to volunteer. Each state adopts one of the proposals. Wait several years. See if any of these proposals worked out well, and if so, which one seems best, and why.
I’ve been touting this for years – the Free State Project, Trog-style.
Health Care Myths exploded
The Democrats have been pushing several myths regarding health care in our nation for years now. The media, naturally, has not done its job, and has allowed these myths to go unchallenged. The American Spectator’s Philip Klein does their work for them.
With the fight over the future of the United States health care system now upon us, conservatives find themselves at a tremendous disadvantage. The Democrats are in control of the White House and Congress and they now count as allies many of the same special interest groups, such as insurers, who opposed the push for HillaryCare in 1993 and 1994. But the biggest obstacle conservatives face is that for decades they have allowed many myths and misleading facts about health care to permeate the national consciousness and rig the debate in the favor of those who want to expand the role of government. The only hope that conservatives have of winning the debate is to challenge fundamentally some of the leading assumptions people have about health care. While there is a lot of misinformation to parse, TAS has compiled a list of some of the most pernicious myths in need of debunking.
Read the entire piece, and share it with your friends who have bought into these myths.
At least one Democrat has some common sense
And that Democrat would be one Rep. Dan Boren of Okahoma. As Hot Air points out, Boren went on record and opposed Card Check, which of course, brought scorn from Liberal union leaders. Now, Boren is speaking out against cap and trade, calling it The worst bill he has ever seen! And apparently he might not be on the health care bandwagon either! He thinks it would make our health care problems worse. You know, I like this guy, perhaps he is in the wrong party? Of course, if he keeps on opposing Obama’s agenda, he might get the boot.
“The cap and trade bill is really the worst piece of legislation I’ve seen since I’ve been there,” Rep. Dan Boren (D-Okla.) told the Tulsa Metro Chamber of Commerce. “It raises energy prices on businesses, raises electric bills on families, and it even raises gasoline prices in the middle of a recession. And, it makes America less competitive in the global economy.”
Boren was one of 44 House Democrats to vote against the American Clean Energy and Security Act, crafted by Reps. Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) and Ed Markey (D-Mass.), in a razor-thin vote last month.
Now, Boren’s vote is being courted in a bid to pass a preliminary healthcare reform package in the House. Some centrist Democrats have defected from party leadership in committee votes on the healthcare legislation, citing concerns over provisions that would impose a surtax on wealthy Americans and would create a public (or “government-run”) insurance option for consumers.
Boren signaled that it may be tough for Democratic leaders to count on his vote for the health bill, their other signature piece of legislation aside the climate change bill.
Code Blue for ObamaCare
I am of to work, but MichelleMalkin has the scoops on why Obama might be getting worried!
Certain sign of desperation: Summoning the nutroots to help.
And another from Mark Knoller, who reports that the White House has moved up Obama’s health care statement today to 12:15pm in the Rose Garden.
And now this from Reuters:
The House of Representatives Energy and Commerce Committee has canceled its Tuesday debate and vote on healthcare legislation but has kept a Wednesday meeting on its schedule.
Good. This will give Obama time to study the plan he supports — a plan that he admitted he’s not familiar with when asked about the provision that would effectively kill off the individual insurance market.
Folks, there is no greater threat to our liberty than the ideal of having the government hijack our health care.
Mayo Clinic to Dr. Obama: Your plan stinks
Ouch! This sharp rebuke has to hurt! Too bad for the president that facts are getting in the way of his Socialist health care agenda.
Minnesota’s not-for-profit Mayo Clinic, which Mr. Obama has repeatedly hailed as offering top quality care at affordable costs, blasted the House Democrats’ version of the health care plan as lawmakers continue to grapple with several bills from each chamber and multiple committees.
The Mayo Clinic said there are some positive elements of the bill, but overall “the proposed legislation misses the opportunity to help create higher quality, more affordable health care for patients.”
“In fact, it will do the opposite,” clinic officials said, because the proposals aren’t [R]patient-focused or results-oriented. “The real losers will be the citizens of the United States.”
Ah, the focus should be on patients? Who knew?
