Oh those tricky Israelis
According to Hamas, the Israelis have devised an insidious plot to corrupt the Palestinian youth; they are passing out chewing gum laced with aphrodisiacs.
Hamas suspects that Israeli intelligence services are supplying its Gaza Strip stronghold with chewing gum that boosts the sex drive in order to “corrupt the young,” an official said on Tuesday.
“We have discovered two types of stimulants that were introduced into the Gaza Strip from Israeli border crossings,” Hamas police spokesman Islam Shahwan told AFP.

Sarah Palin on Cap and Tax
Oh the Left will be in full PDS bloom after they read this column by America’s favorite governor. In fact, they will likely not even read it, they will just go into full blown PDS and condemn it. You, however should read it!
Unfortunately, many in the national media would rather focus on the personality-driven political gossip of the day than on the gravity of these challenges. So, at risk of disappointing the chattering class, let me make clear what is foremost on my mind and where my focus will be:
I am deeply concerned about President Obama’s cap-and-trade energy plan, and I believe it is an enormous threat to our economy. It would undermine our recovery over the short term and would inflict permanent damage.
So, now we get a glimpse into what Palin will be doing once she leaves the Governors chair. And we might now know that her “issue” of choice will be energy. very good, she certainly understands it having governed Alaska. And she knows what cap and trade will do to athe economy.
The ironic beauty in this plan? Soon, even the most ardent liberal will understand supply-side economics.
The Americans hit hardest will be those already struggling to make ends meet. As the president eloquently puts it, their electricity bills will “necessarily skyrocket.” So much for not raising taxes on anyone making less than $250,000 a year.
Even Warren Buffett, an ardent Obama supporter, admitted that under the cap-and-tax scheme, “poor people are going to pay a lot more for electricity.”
We must move in a new direction. We are ripe for economic growth and energy independence if we responsibly tap the resources that God created right underfoot on American soil. Just as important, we have more desire and ability to protect the environment than any foreign nation from which we purchase energy today.
Ah, I love the line about Liberals understanding supply-side economics. Now, while the Left and the elitist ”Conservatives” like Peggy Noonan scoffs at the piece, trust me they will, we should pay heed to its warnings. Frankly, it does not take a brilliant mind to figure out what cap and trade will do to our economy.
No, that is not a shot at Sarah Palin, she is a very bright woman who, unlike many of the “educated intellectual elites” has common sense. And what Anerica needs now my friends is political leaders with common sense. Not politicians who have no guts, and certainly not “elites” who are more concerned with looking down their nose at the middle class than with doing the right thing.
Congress Authorized CIA To Develop Secret Al Qaeda Plan, Former Official Says – Fox News
Congress originally authorized the CIA to develop the secret counterterrorism program that is now drawing fierce criticism from House Democrats who say they were kept in the dark all along, a former senior intelligence official told FOX News on Monday.
The program, which sources told FOX News was a plan to capture or kill Al Qaeda operatives, also never came close to being operational, the intelligence official said.
“This was not a program. It never began,” the former official said. “The authority was given by Congress to develop this idea… There was no need to brief it. It wasn’t a reality.”
Democrats want an investigation into the program, particularly following reports that former Vice President Dick Cheney was the one who ordered it kept secret.
Another official told The Associated Press that while Congress was aware of the program, CIA Director Leon Panetta recently told lawmakers that according to notes he had been given Cheney directed the CIA not to tell Congress specifics of the secret program.
Panetta told the committees there was no indication of anything illegal or inappropriate about the effort itself, the official said.
But after Panetta told congressional lawmakers that he canceled the program, House Democrats also called on the CIA director to retract his statement that the CIA does not mislead Congress. Panetta made that statement after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi claimed the CIA lied to Congress.
The former intelligence official suggested House Democrats made the demand for the sake of providing Pelosi political cover.
“If you notice, Director Panetta briefed both (the Senate and House) intelligence committees on the same day… about the same issue. Did you hear anyone from the Senate intelligence committee say anything about it?”
Eligibility Arguments To Get Court Hearing – WND
In what ultimately could prove to be a turning point in the legal challenges to Barack Obama’s eligibility to be president, a federal judge in California has planned a hearing on the merits of a federal court case raising those questions.
According to attorney Orly Taitz, who is working on multiple cases alleging Obama is a “usurper” because he doesn’t meet the constitutional requirement that only a “natural born citizen” can be president, U.S. District Judge David O. Carter ruled in a hearing today that her case will move forward.
The hearing was on her motion for a default order against Obama, because although Taitz said she notified him of the action, Obama’s attorneys did not make an appearance.
Her complaint was filed against the president on Jan. 20, the day of his inauguration, over his actions before he became president.
Taitz has told WND if her motion for default is granted she immediately would request access to Obama’s birth records and other documentation that could determine his eligibility to occupy the Oval Office.
“I have a very clear case,” Taitz said. “I think they dropped the ball. They didn’t figure out this case filed on Jan. 20th, on the day of inauguration.”
The case was filed on behalf of former U.S. Ambassador Alan Keyes, also a contestant in the 2008 presidential race in California, and others. Taitz said the case might have been confused with another Keyes vs. Obama case filed in the state’s court system, which was thrown out and now is on appeal.
“I will be asking for the release of his vital records,” she has told WND.
The case, which also includes Wiley S. Drake and Markham Robinson as plaintiffs, names as defendant “Barack H Obama also known as Barack Hussein Obama II also known as Barack H Obama II also known as Barry Obama also known as Barry Soetoro.”
“Plaintiffs respectfully submit that this Court’s order finding or at least strongly suggesting that 4(e) service is insufficient, and requiring 4(i) service, regarding the subject matter of this lawsuit as against the sole served Defendant Barack H. Obama, is manifestly erroneous and plaintiffs accordingly request that the court reconsider its motion,” she argued in her motion.
“In the alternative, plaintiffs move and request that this court exercise its sound discretion to certify a question for interlocutory appeal.”
She told WND that at today’s hearing, the judge issued no orders, but promised that the case would be moved forward and he would address the merits of the dispute. He said there would be no dismissals based on “procedural issues.”
The judge said as a former Marine he recognizes the importance of having a constitutionally qualified president.

There are two different versions of the story of the end of the Cold War: the Russian version, and the truth. President Barack Obama endorsed the Russian version in Moscow last week.
Speaking to a group of students, our president explained it this way: “The American and Soviet armies were still massed in Europe, trained and ready to fight. The ideological trenches of the last century were roughly in place. Competition in everything from astrophysics to athletics was treated as a zero-sum game. If one person won, then the other person had to lose. And then within a few short years, the world as it was ceased to be. Make no mistake: This change did not come from any one nation. The Cold War reached a conclusion because of the actions of many nations over many years, and because the people of Russia and Eastern Europe stood up and decided that its end would be peaceful.”
The truth, of course, is that the Soviets ran a brutal, authoritarian regime. The KGB killed their opponents or dragged them off to the Gulag. There was no free press, no freedom of speech, no freedom of worship, no freedom of any kind. The basis of the Cold War was not “competition in astrophysics and athletics.” It was a global battle between tyranny and freedom. The Soviet “sphere of influence” was delineated by walls and barbed wire and tanks and secret police to prevent people from escaping. America was an unmatched force for good in the world during the Cold War. The Soviets were not. The Cold War ended not because the Soviets decided it should but because they were no match for the forces of freedom and the commitment of free nations to defend liberty and defeat Communism.
It is irresponsible for an American president to go to Moscow and tell a room full of young Russians less than the truth about how the Cold War ended. One wonders whether this was just an attempt to push “reset” — or maybe to curry favor. Perhaps, most concerning of all, Mr. Obama believes what he said.
Go read the entire piece, it is well worth it. All I can add is that my biggest fear about Obama was that he, like Jimmy Carter, plays the moral equivalency game where American history is involved.
Leftists often, or maybe I should say always, fall into that trap. Whether they are arguing that an armed American response to terrorism makes us “just as bad as the terrorists”, or that an armed home owner who fights back against the home invader is only “adding to the cycle of violence” the Leftist never is capable of making a clear moral judgement.
Such is Obama’s issue with the history of the Cold War. The Soviets WERE the bad guys, we WERE the good guys, period! The Soviet Union built nuclear arsenals not to protect itself from us, or because the Soviets feared us. They were Hell bent on conquering the world and subjugating it to Communist rule. If you do not believe this ask anyone who lived in Eastern Europe in the 1950′s. The Left, for whatever reason, I have come to believe that they suffer from accute Moral Retardation, cannot accept this truth.
Likewise, the Left also cannot bring itself to accept that America needed to have a superior military, and YES, our military was superior, thanks President Reagan, to the Soviets. We built our military to be stronger to achieve peace. Peace through strength works, the outcome of the Cold War proves this. The Carter approach of appeasement was a miserable failure for one very simple reason that simpleton’s like Carter cannot grasp. Evil cannot be appeased or reasoned with. It must be beaten, or at the very least threatened with utter destruction if it acts on it’s passion for mayhem.
I truly believe that President Obama, like President Carter, just cannot believe this truth. He is, like Carter, a Leftist, and Leftists, because of their moral retardation, cannot come to the realization that there ARE morally superior nations, governments, or cultures. In other words they have difficulty understanding or maybe I should say accepting that America WAS superior to the Soviet Union in it’s system of government, it’s economic system, and most certainly in the treatment of it’s people.
Look at how the Left views Cuba under Fidel Castro today. Why Cuba is better than America the Leftist will argue. There is free health care in Cuba, and everyone can read in Cuba. Nevermind that their health care stinks, or that while everyone can read, what they are allowed ro read is mandated by Mr. Castro. And the beloved freedom of speech, the Left boasts of defending? Let them try that in Cuba.
Now, the clear superiority of Western culture is something that the Leftist will deny vehemently when it is presented to them. In fact, the typical Leftist tends to break out in hives when someone argues that Western culture, particularly American culture is the best thing for peace, liberty and prosperity.
I have found that there is no quicker way to get a Leftist truly irate than to tell them these few words. “If every nation on earth was like America, there would be no terrorism, no wars, no famines, and no destitution”. Go ahead, try saying that sentence to a committed Leftist. But be prepared as their head will spin around and green fluid will likely fly from their mouth.
When you dare speak those words to a Leftist, they will screech at you about the many, many failings of America, they will accuse you of looking at America through rose-colored glasses. They will bring up slavery, Jim Crow, the denial of women’s equality, and every other stain on America’s past. Hell, they will even throw in some sins America never committed, such as being an imperialist natio, just to make themselves feel better. Leftists DO love to angry, embittered and they love to play the victim.
They will berate you for never seeing anything but perfection from America. “Why can’t you ever admit America is not perfect?” one lady screamed at me a few years ago. I can, and have found fault with America’s past sins of course. No nation is perfect, but America is far closer than most in history. That America is the greatest nation on earth is a fact, but facts do not enter into the thinking mechanisms of Leftists. They cannot admit America’s greatness, they can only seem to find faults, again, even if those faults have long since been cured or, actually never existed at all.
The Leftist, while accusing us of “defending America no matter what” are sure NEVER to say anything good about America. Now, they will go on and on about how America has lots of changing to do. Our economic system must be “socialized”. Our Constitution must be seen as a living thing, that can mean anything they choose to have it mean. Our military MUST be downsized, and cut, lest we cause worry to some dictator. Again, ANY terror attack, or the existence of teror group, is America’s fault because we have the mightiest military on the planet. September 11th? America’s fault, Saddam Hussein? America’s fault! Terrorism? America’s fault! Climate change? America’s fault! AIDS? America’s fault! Ingrown toenails? America’s fault!
Sadly, I must conclude that Obama’s association’s have led him to adopt radical Leftist views of this great nation. Take one bitter preacher screeching Black Liberation Theology, in a bitter racist church. Add a Marxist mentor. Add one unrepentent terrorist, albeit “just a guy in Barack’s neighborhood”. Mix these ingredients up, and you start to understand why Obama has embarked on aoplogize for America tours, released terrorists who have our soldier’s blood on their hands, tried his best to fundamentally change our economy, and is trying to adopt a Marxist-style government health care take over, and is pushing for cap and trade to fight a “crisis” that does not even exist.
