A story of love, seduction and Obamagasms!
Sister Toldjah has the scoop! David Brooks is smitten!
TNR has a revealing – and highly nauseating – piece on the “courtship” of David Brooks by Barack Obama. The story pretty much confirms what I and many others have been saying about David Brooks for a while now in that he’s allowed himself to be shamelessly used and abused by Beltway Democrats for at least the last several years, and none of them have used him more to their advantage than Barack Obama, David Axelrod (whose relationship with Brooks goes back decades) and others in The One’s administration. Here’s a snippet:
In the spring of 2005, New York Times columnist David Brooks arrived at then-Senator Barack Obama’s office for a chat. Brooks, a conservative writer who joined the Times in 2003 from The Weekly Standard, had never met Obama before. But, as they chewed over the finer points of Edmund Burke, it didn’t take long for the two men to click. “I don’t want to sound like I’m bragging,” Brooks recently told me, “but usually when I talk to senators, while they may know a policy area better than me, they generally don’t know political philosophy better than me. I got the sense he knew both better than me.”
That first encounter is still vivid in Brooks’s mind. “I remember distinctly an image of–we were sitting on his couches, and I was looking at his pant leg and his perfectly creased pant,” Brooks says, “and I’m thinking, a) he’s going to be president and b) he’ll be a very good president.” In the fall of 2006, two days after Obama’s The Audacity of Hope hit bookstores, Brooks published a glowing Times column. The headline was “Run, Barack, Run.”
Sen. Grassley: Public option OFF the table
Encouraging? Yes! I am highly skeptical? Yes! Do I trust the government to fix the health care system? No!
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) – Iowa Republican Sen. Charles Grassley said Monday he remains hopeful a limited health care reform measure can be negotiated but a small group working on the issue agrees a government-run public option won’t be part of a package.
Grassley, the ranking Republican on the Senate Finance Committee, is among a bipartisan group of six lawmakers who are negotiating a compromise to overhaul the nation’s health care system.
”I’m still hopeful, but I’m hopeful based on I think you’re talking about something a little less sweeping than what we talked about before,” Grassley said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press. ”I say that with some comfort because we hear other senators at the table say it.’‘
Obama as Lenin?
Interesting piece by James Lewis over at the American ThinkerGo read the whole article, it lays out for fascinating similarities between the two men
H/T Kim Priestcap at Wizbang who sums up the piece very well.
He also discusses the Obama/Lenin concepts of cult of personality, revolution comes from above, scapegoating the rich, exploiting ethnic hatreds, controlling the media, and others. Lewis’ article gives us important insight into Obama’s actions and beliefs and puts them into a context that we can better understand. If we are going to defend our nation, our freedoms, and our liberties by pushing back against Obama’s machinations, we need to know exactly who he is and what motivates him.
Well, someone is popular
And that someone is SarahPalin
She’s got over a thousand invitations, with 950 as speaking requests. Politicians are desperate for her to come campaign on their behalf. And some thought she ruined her career by resigning as Alaska’s governor.
Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin this week will begin accepting and rejecting the more than 1,070 invitations she has received for paid speeches and political appearances since she resigned from office, aides said. Twenty speakers’ bureaus made offers to represent her. She has signed with Washington Speakers Bureau, which represents everyone from George and Laura Bush to Bob Woodward and Katie Couric to Alan Greenspan, Colin Powell and Rudy Giuliani.
More than 950 requests for speeches have poured in for Palin, and over 120 candidates for office have asked her to appear, including folks running for Senate, House and state Legislature, aides said.
Well, so much for her being finished. 2012 is a ways off yet. Despite the fact that some think the campaign is already underway, there should still be time for Palin to become a factor. Yes, the “experts” have counted her out, but I do not agree.
Las Vegas Review-Journal Publisher Calls Out Harry Reid Over “Boorish” And “Asinine” Remarks
Sherman Frederick: Enough Is Enough, Harry – Stop The Childish Bullying
This newspaper traces its roots to before Las Vegas was Las Vegas.
We’ve seen cattle ranches give way to railroads. We chronicled the construction of Hoover Dam. We reported on the first day of legalized gambling. The first hospital. The first school. The first church. We survived the mob, Howard Hughes, the Great Depression, several recessions, two world wars, dozens of news competitors and any number of two-bit politicians who couldn’t stand scrutiny, much less criticism.
We’re still here doing what we do for the people of Las Vegas and Nevada. So, let me assure you, if we weathered all of that, we can damn sure outlast the bully threats of Sen. Harry Reid.
On Wednesday, before he addressed a Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce luncheon, Reid joined the chamber’s board members for a meet-’n'-greet and a photo. One of the last in line was the Review-Journal’s director of advertising, Bob Brown, a hard-working Nevadan who toils every day on behalf of advertisers. He has nothing to do with news coverage or the opinion pages of the Review-Journal.
Yet, as Bob shook hands with our senior U.S. senator in what should have been nothing but a gracious business setting, Reid said: “I hope you go out of business.”
Later, in his public speech, Reid said he wanted to let everyone know that he wants the Review-Journal to continue selling advertising because the Las Vegas Sun is delivered inside the Review-Journal.
Such behavior cannot go unchallenged.
You could call Reid’s remark ugly and be right. It certainly was boorish. Asinine? That goes without saying.
But to fully capture the magnitude of Reid’s remark (and to stop him from doing the same thing to others) it must be called what it was – a full-on threat perpetrated by a bully who has forgotten that he was elected to office to protect Nevadans, not sound like he’s shaking them down.
No citizen should expect this kind of behavior from a U.S. senator. It is certainly not becoming of a man who is the majority leader in the U.S. Senate. And it absolutely is not what anyone would expect from a man who now asks Nevadans to send him back to the Senate for a fifth term.
If he thinks he can push the state’s largest newspaper around by exacting some kind of economic punishment in retaliation for not seeing eye to eye with him on matters of politics, I can only imagine how he pressures businesses and individuals who don’t have the wherewithal of the Review-Journal.
For the sake of all who live and work in Nevada, we can’t let this bully behavior pass without calling out Sen. Reid. If he’ll try it with the Review-Journal, you can bet that he’s tried it with others. So today, we serve notice on Sen. Reid that this creepy tactic will not be tolerated.
We won’t allow you to bully us. And if you try it with anyone else, count on going through us first.
That’s a promise, not a threat.
And it’s a promise to our readers, not to you, Sen. Reid.
Former Rep. Traficant Out Of Prison Wednesday – News Max
Renegade former congressman James A. Traficant Jr., who delighted in “Star Trek” references and polyester suits, is to be released Wednesday from a federal prison in Minnesota after serving seven years for corruption.
The longtime Democratic lawmaker, now 68, will return to a hometown that has ample evidence of the federal aid he landed, including a highway, second federal courthouse, and an arena.
Still, he could face an uneven welcome in a city with a corrupt reputation but a new generation of leaders, including a young mayor and Traficant’s congressional successor.
That reputation – more than 70 corruption convictions in a federal investigation – could mean he’ll be accepted when he returns to his blue-collar hometown, said Zach Roush, 18, a Youngstown State University student.

“With Youngstown’s reputation, he’ll probably do real well,” Roush said while walking toward campus. “We have a reputation with all the corruption and all that good stuff. It doesn’t bother me as long as it doesn’t affect me.”
Traficant is to be released from the Federal Medical Center in Rochester, Minn., where he was transferred in 2004. Prison authorities say they will announce his release only after he has left the prison.
His three years of probation will include a requirement to report regularly to a probation officer, be subject to unannounced home visits and get permission before traveling outside northern Ohio. Traficant hasn’t indicated whether he plans to work or retire, chief probation officer Greg Johnson said.
Traficant, whose wild hair contributed to an offbeat reputation, was convicted in a raucous trial in 2002 of bribery and racketeering for accepting bribes from businessmen and taking kickbacks from staff members. He then was expelled from Congress, only the second House member since the Civil War to be ousted for unethical conduct.
Green Czar’s ‘Communist Manifesto’ Scrubbed From Net – WorldNetDaily
How is this for a quick clean up job?
Last week, WND reported the official communist-oriented manifesto of a radical group founded by Obama’s environmental adviser. Van Jones, was published in full on the Internet.
Just hours later, the manifesto was removed and the entire website was taken down. It is, however, still available in web archives.
As WND previously reported, Van Jones, special adviser for green jobs, enterprise and innovation to the White House Council on Environmental Quality, is an admitted black nationalist and radical communist.

Jones was the leader and founder of a radical group, the communist revolutionary organization Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement, or STORM.
STORM’s official manifesto, titled, “Reclaiming Revolution,” had been published on the Internet.
A WND review of the 97-page treatise found that the manual describes Jones’ organization as having a “commitment to the fundamental ideas of Marxism-Leninism.”
“We agreed with Lenin’s analysis of the state and the party,” reads the manifesto. “And we found inspiration in the revolutionary strategies developed by Third World revolutionaries like Mao Tse-tung and Amilcar Cabral.”
Obama Approval Now At 46 Percent – Rasmussen
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows that 30% of the nation’s voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-one percent (41%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -11.
Twenty-nine percent (29%) are confident that Congress knows what it’s doing when it comes to the economy. If Americans could vote to keep or replace the entire Congress, 57% would throw out all the legislators and start over again. Just 25% would vote to keep the Congress.

The Presidential Approval Index is calculated by subtracting the number who Strongly Disapprove from the number who Strongly Approve. It is updated daily at 9:30 a.m. Eastern. Updates also available on Twitter and Facebook.
Overall, 46% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President’s performance. That’s the lowest level of total approval yet measured for Obama. Fifty-three percent (53%) now disapprove. Eighty-one percent (81%) of Democrats approve while 83% of Republicans disapprove. As for those not affiliated with either major party, 66% disapprove.
Another radical close to Obama
Van Jones, self-avowed Communist, and Obama’s “Green czar” who wants to help Obama “change” the way we remember 9-11.
The plan is to turn a “day of fear” that helps Republicans into a day of activism called the National Day of Service that helps the left. In other words, nihilistic liberals are planning to drain 9/11 of all meaning.
“They think it needs to be taken back from the right,” said the source. “They’re taking that day and they’re breaking it because it gives Republicans an advantage. To them, that day is a fearful day.”
A coalition including the unsavory left-wing pressure group Color of Change and about 60 far-left, environmentalist, labor, and corporate shakedown groups participated in the call. Groups on the call included: ACORN, AFL-CIO, Apollo Alliance, Community Action Partnership, Deep South Center for Environmental Justice, 80 Million Strong for Young American Jobs, Friends of the Earth, Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, Mobilize.org, National Black Police Association, National Coalition on Black Civic Participation, National Council of Negro Women, National Wildlife Federation, RainbowPUSH Coalition, Urban League, and Young Democrats of America.
Color of Change is the extremist racial grievance group that isn’t happy that TV’s Glenn Beck did several news packages on Van Jones, the self-described “communist” and “rowdy black nationalist” who became the president’s green jobs czar after jumping on the environmentalist bandwagon. The White House may be behind a push to destroy Beck by convincing advertisers to stop buying time on his show. Jones was also on the board of the Apollo Alliance, a hard-left environmentalist group that is now running large chunks of the Obama administration. The group has acknowledged that it dictated parts of the February stimulus bill to Congress.
Read all that Donald Douglas has on this. It is very important to understand just how radical many of Obama’s Czars really are. Take special note of this link to some more background on Van Jones.
The man in question is named Van Jones, and President Obama appointed him as a czar in charge of developing “green energy policy.” His exact title is Special Advisor for Green Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation at the White House Council on Environmental Quality. His responsibility is to coordinate the stimulus spending to assure that a hefty portion of it goes to projects that promote green energy. What in Jones’ recent background should raise questions about his worthiness for the appointment? What was the expertise that made him qualified for the position? He was founder of in September 2007 of “Green For All,” a non-governmental organization “dedicated to building an inclusive green economy strong enough to lift people out of poverty … advocating for local, state and federal commitment to job creation, job training, and entrepreneurial opportunities in the emerging green economy – especially for people from disadvantaged communities.” He also attended Yale Law School, thus following a career path similar to that of President Obama. And like the President, he recently said he considers himself a “community organizer.”
As David Horowitz has pointed out, from 1992 until 2002, Jones was a member of a radical communist group that was dedicated to “organizing a revolutionary movement in America.” Arrested during the Rodney King riots in Los Angeles, and briefly sent to jail, Jones met, he said “communists and anarchists,” and decided “ ‘This is what I need to be part of.’” He said that he spent “the next ten years of my life working with a lot of those people I met in jail, trying to be a revolutionary.”
The group he joined was Storm, a Bay Area Marxist-Maoist collective staffed by members of radical nonprofit groups, who worked with another body Jones had founded, The Ella Baker Center for Human Rights, that sought to provide alternative to prison for African-Americans convicted of crimes. Storm made its position clear in its published manifesto, Reclaiming Revolution:Standing Together to Form a Revolutionary Movement. The group defined itself as a “revolutionary cadre organization,” that understood that “revolutionary Marxist politics would be central to the development of a successful liberation movement in this country.” Its commitment was to “Marxist-Leninist politics,” which posed a problem- since its shrewd leaders knew that “most young activists…were hostile to revolutionary Marxism.”
Read it all, it takes some time, but it is worth it my friends. As you read and learn, please recall how Obama has continually vowed to “fundamentally change” America.
When I say educated beyond one’s hat size?
I mean people like John Batchelor, who Smitty of the Other McCain takes to the proverbial woodshed over his snobbery and elitism.
Go watch the clip of Batchelor doing his best immitation of a talking corpse pretending to be an intelligent being. Then, go read the thrashing delivered by Smitty. A smalll taste here.
Mr. Batchelor says at one point: “The chief idea of the party is liberty.” And yet, you’ve conveniently labeled reasonably orderly, if raucus and spirited, dissent as “anarchy”. Mr. Batchelor, how can you even play the anarchy card? All of the violence of which I’m aware has been carried out by those who oppose Tea Party Movement and its noble goals.
Mr. Batchelor on future voices of the GOP: “Right now, if I know their names, they’re not the furture leaders.“
Based upon the content of this clip, Mr. Batchelor, anyone you endorse is probably going to be a tool, a tool’s tool, a machine tool for producing new tools. So my advice to you, Mr. Batchelor, is that your influence is best enhanced by endorsing everyone else, so that the sewage of your condescension doesn’t become a stench overwhelming the aroma of your candidate.
All I can add to Smitty’s take is this question. If Batchelor is so apalled by the Tea Party protesters, apparently they are not snobby enough for Batchelor, what would he have them do? Protest in the same monotone, emotionless, drone as he has perfected? Perhaps he just believes they should just shut up and let the “elites” argue for them?
If I had conducted this interview, I would have pressed Mr. Personality as to what he would have the protesters do. I would not have allowed him to evade the question like the intellectual fraud he is. I damn sure would not have stroked his ego by repeatedly calling him “eloquent” either. Using big words is not eloquence. Neither is parroting the same line for 10 minutes frankly. And certainly, one who does not know much about the founding of America, or the definition of anarchy, is not eloquent. Not in the least.
Finally, because I am not as charitable as Smitty, I WILL offer the portrait of Batchelor Smitty would not.

The Obama Doctrine
Call me loony, but I think the Monroe Doctrine and the Bush Doctrine make a lot more sense!
America’s betrayal of the South Vietnamese was a national disgrace, a permanent black mark on our honor. Not very good for our image, or our ability to earn and sustain lasting friendships in this world.
If we learn from history, certainly one lesson is that abandoning allies for political expediency is a disaster that can lead to the deaths of millions.
Why then is the Obama administration abandoning today’s American allies?
The United States is poised to dump a critical missile-defense agreement with two of its most dependable NATO allies. The Polish daily Gazeta Wyborcza reported yesterday that the Obama administration is going to scrap the “third site” anti-missile system scheduled to be deployed in Poland and the Czech Republic. Missile interceptors in Poland and a radar station in the Czech Republic were scheduled to be deployed by 2013. Now the plan appears to have been shot down. [MORE]
And the lesson our allies other countries are learning? America is not a dependable long term friend. America is either weak and in decline, and/or the current American government has double crossed everyone and flipped to the other side of the battle of socialism-communism-fascism vs capitalism-democracy-freedom.
Excellent analysis! I wonder which side of the struggle Obama is on? Well, we know what side his ranting, ravin, racist reverand is on, and Bill Ayers, and so many of his supporters.
Yes, yes, I know, I am engaging in “guilt by association”, and the Left HATES that! But, let us think about that for a moment. If you hang around with mostly radical Communists, well……….
