Obama’s racial gap

Donald Douglas has a good post up about Obama’s falling approval numbers among White Americans. Not only White Republicans either. White emocrats and independents are as displeased with Obama as their Republican counterparts. It is a good post and please go read it

What I find compelling here is the media’s take on this racial gap. When the media talks of Republican’s problems getting Black voters, they place the blame sqarely on the GOP. However, now, the media tends to place Obama’s racial gap at the feet of those who diusagree with Obama, rather than at his feet.

This is remarkable to me. The media’s blatant double standard between coverage Republicans and Democrats is well documented. Their coverage of racoal issues, is, to me, even more slanted and biased though. Blacks who disagree with a candidate or politician are never referred to as ignorant, or angry, or bitter, and are certainlt never painted as racist, or influenced by race.

The Whites disaproving of Obama, however, are hardly treated the same though. The media has repeatedly tried to paint them as racially motivated. Double standards? Yes, the media has that covered VERY WELL!
