Racial Obsession Syndrome strikes again! And as usual, one Maureen Dowd is eaten up with ROS! 

Surrounded by middle-aged white guys — a sepia snapshot of the days when such pols ran Washington like their own men’s club — Joe Wilson yelled “You lie!” at a president who didn’t.

OK, Maureen, you clueless wonder. You start a column, meant to denounce racism, by using “White males” as a racial slur? Really?

But, fair or not, what I heard was an unspoken word in the air: You lie, boy!

OH, of course! It HAD to be about race right? No way an American congresman could simply be displaying his gross displeasure at what he considers to be lies spewed by Obama?

The outburst was unexpected from a milquetoast Republican backbencher from South Carolina who had attracted little media attention. Now it has made him an overnight right-wing hero, inspiring “You lie!” bumper stickers and T-shirts.

Ah, South Carolina huh? A White guy from there? The “non-judgemental” Liberal, Dowd, cannot wait to infer that the entire state of South Carolina is, well, you know….

The congressman, we learned, belonged to the Sons of Confederate Veterans, led a 2000 campaign to keep the Confederate flag waving above South Carolina’s state Capitol and denounced as a “smear” the true claim of a black woman that she was the daughter of Strom Thurmond, the ’48 segregationist candidate for president. Wilson clearly did not like being lectured and even rebuked by the brainy black president presiding over the majestic chamber.

Hmmm, again, Dowd jumps to great conclusions here. And, false, factless ones as well. The SCV is a historical, and heritage organization, with members of varying races, and religions. Sorry Maureen, but your stereotyping is sloppy and ignorant. Like most bigots, YES, Maureeen you are a damnable bigot, you are ignorant and assbackwards!

Further, Maureen, why would you, a “tolerant, inclusive, sensitive Liberal” want the history of South Carolina erased? The Confederate flag you speak of is an EXACT replica of the 1st South Carolina Infantry’s battle flag. It flies AT the Confederate Memorial. It is history Maureen. Why is that wrong Maureen? Many South Carolinians wish to honor their ancestors sacrifice. Why would you, Mauren, a super-inclusive Liberal, seek to EXCLUDE these people? Why would you, a super-sensitive Liberal, seek to be insensitive to them Maureen?

I’ve been loath to admit that the shrieking lunacy of the summer — the frantic efforts to paint our first black president as the Other, a foreigner, socialist, fascist, Marxist, racist, Commie, Nazi; a cad who would snuff old people; a snake who would indoctrinate kids — had much to do with race.

No, Maureen it is not, nor ever has been about race, except in your deluded mind of course! Because it is YOU Maureen who is completely obsessed with skin color.
