Caroline Glick, writing for The Jerusalem Post, has had enough of Appeasement Obama. In a recent column she expresses frustration and disgust at his conciliatory nature towards Amercia’s adversaries and his seeming derision of America’s longtime allies:
“Since Obama took office, he has been abandoning one US ally after another while seeking to curry favor with one US adversary after another. At every turn, America’s allies – from Israel to Honduras, to Columbia, South Korea and Japan, to Poland and the Czech Republic – have reacted with disbelief and horror to his treachery. And at every turn, America’s adversaries – from Iran to Venezuela to North Korea and Russia – have responded with derision and contempt to his seemingly obsessive attempts to appease them. “
Ah, Mr. President sir, about those non-existent taxes in health care reform?
It seems that there are eight new taxes, and correct me if I am wrong Mr. President, but isn’t eight a lot more than zero?

Take that ACORN!
Already facing the loss of federal government funding, the community-organizing group Acorn also has run afoul of one of its big corporate partners, Bank of America Corp.
In response to questions from The Wall Street Journal, a spokesman for the banking company said it has “suspended current commitments” to Acorn Housing, an affiliated group, and “will not enter into any further agreements with Acorn or any of its affiliates,” pending assessments by the bank of the organization’s operations.
Acorn, officially the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, has been under fire since the recent release of secretly recorded videos that showed Acorn employees offering advice on evading taxes, setting up brothels and smuggling illegal immigrants.
Well, I guess that would make B.O.A RAAAAACIST! And YES, if RS McCain is spell checking this I did put five a’s in raaaaacist!

Oh that wacky Obama State Department The detainees at Gitmo are now refugees!
A Republican sends over this video of the State Department press briefing today, in which Assistant Secretary P.J. Crowley calls Gitmo detainees “refugees” at about the 24-minute mark.
QUESTION: Talk to us a little bit about response and talks and any commitments that you may have gotten from our European and other friends in the international community about taking in Guantanamo detainees as the camp in Guantanamo is expected to close at some point in the near future. Have you gotten any commitments from our European friends and anybody else?
CROWLEY: Ambassador Dan Fried continues his efforts to resettle, you know, Guantanamo refugees to various places around the world.
Refugees? Are they victims now? Poor displaced people seeking refuge and shelter? Good grief!
Reminder: Roman Polanski Raped A Child – Kate Harding
Roman Polanski raped a child. Let’s just start right there, because that’s the detail that tends to get neglected when we start discussing whether it was fair for the bail-jumping director to be arrested at age 76, after 32 years in “exile” (which in this case means owning multiple homes in Europe, continuing to work as a director, marrying and fathering two children, even winning an Oscar, but never – poor baby – being able to return to the U.S.).
Let’s keep in mind that Roman Polanski gave a 13-year-old girl a Quaalude and champagne, then raped her, before we start discussing whether the victim looked older than her 13 years, or that she now says she’d rather not see him prosecuted because she can’t stand the media attention. Before we discuss how awesome his movies are or what the now-deceased judge did wrong at his trial, let’s take a moment to recall that according to the victim’s grand jury testimony, Roman Polanski instructed her to get into a jacuzzi naked, refused to take her home when she begged to go, began kissing her even though she said no and asked him to stop; performed cunnilingus on her as she said no and asked him to stop; put his penis in her vagina as she said no and asked him to stop; asked if he could penetrate her anally, to which she replied, “No,” then went ahead and did it anyway, until he had an orgasm.
Can we do that? Can we take a moment to think about all that, and about the fact that Polanski pled guilty to unlawful sex with a minor, before we start talking about what a victim he is? Because that would be great, and not nearly enough people seem to be doing it.
U.S. Commander Of Afghanistan Only Talked To Obama Once – Washington Times
The military general credited for capturing Saddam Hussein and killing the leader of al-Qaeda in Iraq says he has only spoken to President Obama once since taking command of Afghanistan.
“I’ve talked to the president, since I’ve been here, once on a VTC [video teleconferece],” General Stanley McChrystal told CBS reporter David Martin in a television interview that aired Sunday.
“You’ve talked to him once in 70 days?” Mr. Martin followed up.
“That is correct,” the general replied.
This revelation comes amid the explosive publication of an classified report written by the general that said the war in Afghanistan “will likely result in failure” if more troops are not added next year. Yet, the debate over health care reform continues to dominate Washington’s political discussions.
Former U.S. Ambassador for the United Nations John Bolton said this was indicative of President Obama’s misplaced priorities.

Iran Picks Yom Kippur To Test Fire Long-Range Missile
Iran on Monday test-fired long-range missiles it says could hit targets inside arch-foe Israel, as the defiant Revolutionary Guards staged war games amid tension with the West over Tehran’s atomic drive.
The UN nuclear watchdog revealed on Friday that Tehran was building a second uranium enrichment plant, ratcheting up tensions with the West which suspects the Islamic republic wants to acquire atomic weapons, a charge it denies.
Guards’ air force commander Hossein Salami said his men test-fired surface-to-surface Sejil and Shahab-3 long-range missiles on the second straight day of the manoeuvres.
“An improved version of Shahab-3 and the two-stage Sejil, powered by solid fuel, were fired” Salami was quoted as saying by state-owned Arabic language Al-Alam television.
The Fars news agency said it was the first time the Sejil had been test-fired during a military exercise.
State-owned English-language Press TV broadcast the first footage of the Sejil, as the light blue missile barrelled skywards trailing thick white smoke.
The channel also showed footage of a Shahab-3 blasting off in a ball of fire from desert terrain.
Iran says both long-range weapons can travel for 2,000 kilometres (1,240 miles), which would put Israel, most Arab states and parts of Europe, including much of Turkey, within range.
“These are long-range missiles and can hit any target in the region,” Salami said.
On Sunday, the Guards fired several short- and medium-range missiles, some bearing multiple warheads, state media reported. The medium-range Shahab-1 and Shahab-2, with a range of between 300 kilometres and 700 kilometres, were successfully launched, Salami said.
Support For Health Care Plan Hits New Low – Rasmussen
Just 41% of voters nationwide now favor the health care reform proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats. That’s down two points from a week ago and the lowest level of support yet measured.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 56% are opposed to the plan.
Senior citizens are less supportive of the plan than younger voters. In the latest survey, just 33% of seniors favor the plan while 59% are opposed. The intensity gap among seniors is significant. Only 16% of the over-65 crowd Strongly Favors the legislation while 46% are Strongly Opposed.
Local Mayor Caught Cross Dressing In Womens’ Underwear: The Plot Thickens – Cleveland Examiner
Last week, East Cleveland mayor Eric Brewer found himself in a very embarrassing situation: having to explain pictures, supposedly of him, wearing womens’ underwear. Now, thanks to investigative reporter Carl Monday, the plot has thickened.
Are the pictures real? Did Brewer know the photos had gotten out before they were leaked to the world? If you choose to believe the source, the answer to the second question seems to be “yes.”
In a recent interview, Monday talked with Brewer’s mayoral opponent, Gary Norton. In the interview, Norton related an interesting tale of a conversation that transpired between the two men before Norton decided to run for mayor. Brewer asked Norton if there was any potentially damaging information that could come out. Norton mentioned the pictures, to which Brewer replied, according to Norton, by asking “what pictures?” before finally admitting that one was real, albeit retouched. So what about the rest?
According to Brewer in an email sent back in June (yes, June), the pictures were first downloaded by a police officer, Charles Teal and given to Cuyahoga County Commissioner Peter Lawson Jones, who then turned them over to Norton. Teal denied any involvement, Jones will not comment, and Norton refuses to tell who leaked the photos to him.

Though I am sure there are many more gems like this buried in the Baucus Bill, this one deserves special mention. Politico notes the rarity of such a confirmation. How often do we see handwritten confirmation the 20 something group who will be forced to subsidize the health care costs of the 50 something crew must pay a $1900 fine if they don’t buy health care? Worse still, they face a year in jail and/or an additional $25,000 fine for failure to pay the first fine. Good thing the Presidential Propaganda Commission has this age group out designing t-shirts to distract them. Perhaps we could recruit a few to upload the bill on the internet instead.

How many creepy czars can really be uncovered in the Obama White House? It’s like a bizarre scavenger hunt. First Van Jones and now Kevin Jennings. Who is Kevin Jennings? He’s the Safe Schools Czar.
How many? Well, until Obama names a Creepy Czar Czar, to keep track of all the Czar creepiness, I guess we will never know.

Jennings is a piece of work. No doubt. Pamela Gellar blogged about him back in June. He’s only now starting to catch a bit of attention.
Here is yet ANOTHER radical with ties to Team Obama folks. It is crystal clear nw that Obama never was the “post-racial” man he played during the campaign. It is also clear that he is a man of very radical leanings and ideals. Every time we look into one of Obama’s czars, or allies, we find radical beliefs that are far removed from mainstream America.
Is this a man crush?
Is it just me, or does one Lance Burri have a man crush on Rick Perry? I know the Classic Liberal has the hots for Britney Spears, and to be honest, her body is way hotter than Perry’s. So, I am starting to worry about Lance.

In other words he is beating Charlie like a rented, red-headed, government mule! He is beating him like a drum, a cheap rug, like a step-child, well you get the picture.
Johnson, who was once a rational, sane human being, decided he was going to start banning Conservatives from his blog, he attacked McCain’s character, and he went on the warpath against Southerners, Christians, and pretty much anyone else committed to Conservatism.
So, it is with a smile I watch the Johnson get dismantled by McCain, and others. Hey, you best leave us Southerners alone, we do not like confrontation, but, if you push us, well…..

This is what has happened in the people’s state of Michigan where a kindly maternal woman is being ground under the iron boot heel of authorities from the State of Michigan because she dared to watch her neighbor’s children for about 40 minutes before school each weekday in violation of the state’s child daycare center registration laws.
Shockingly this poor woman is being threatened by the goosesteppers of the child welfare department of what should be the Badger State instead of Wolverine — that would be more apt in this case — because she did not get a childcare license for watching her neighbor’s kids for the 40 minutes before the the bus arrives each morning.
Folks we have at last come to a decision point.
We have allowed our various governments from the smallest village all the way to the halls of the federal government to become an anti-family, anti-American despotism and here is just another disgusting example of that devolution from American republic to fascist state.
When we are prohibited by state law to even offer a little help to our friends and neighbors or face prosecution by the all powerful state, we have arrived at a time when our government is no longer on our side. Our governments, all of them, are fast becoming enemies to the common good, enemies to the rights and liberties of the people they are supposed to govern. Government is now only interested in its own power and its own needs.
When you can’t even help a neighbor for fear of the fascist state coming down on you like a ton of bricks we have arrived at a turning point for sure. It is time to take power away from government at every level. When any politician is running for office and telling us what he will “do” for us, tell him you only want one thing from him. Tell him you want him to LEAVE US ALONE.
Like I said, un-freaking-believable! I was just discussing with someone the other day that it is often local, or state government that most infringes where they have no right to. The same level of outrage shown towards Obama Care ought to be show towards perverse intrusions into our private lives by local statists. These miscreants can be voted out, and SHOULD BE!

I am back!
Some computer issues have given me fits since Wednesday, but, I think they are fixed, I hope anyway. Ed has been doing some great blogging, and I am ready to rock ‘n roll! So, here we go! Over at Wizbang, this item just caught my eye it deals with the “Kennedy legacy”
Well, Ted Kennedy’s been buried for almost a month, and we’re getting a glimpse of his legacy. And — as should be expected — it’s a remarkable conflation of greed, corruption, chicanery, and political maneuverings.
First up, his successor in the United States Senate has been named. Paul Kirk, a former Kennedy aide, DNC chairman, and the executor of Kennedy’s estate, was appointed by Governor Deval Patrick yesterday.
And the Massachusetts Republican Party (from their convention in a phone booth) promptly filed suit. They pointed out that, in Massachusetts, laws do not become effective for 90 days after signing unless they are declared an “emergency.” And the “emergency” is only recognized if 2/3 of the legislature votes to call it such when the bill is passed — which did not happen with the bill that gave the governor back the power to fill Senate vacancies.
Ah, those champions of the little guy strike again. When there was a Republican governor, Mitt Romney, in Massachusetts, Kennedy sought to change how Senate replacements were selected. He was concerned that if John Kerry were elected president in 2004, Romney would tab a Republican to replace him. So, Kennedy decided the voters ought to decide.
Then, recently, when Kennedy knew his life was coming toan end, he worried that allowing the people to vote might not serve the Democrats as well, as having the current Democratic governor decide a replacement for Teddy.
Convenient principles Teddy had at the end there. Power to the people, UNLESS the people might go against Teddy’s wishes that is.
