On October 14, Lord Christopher Monckton, a noted climate change skeptic, gave a presentation at Bethel University in St. Paul, MN. In this 4 minute excerpt from his speech, he issues a dire warning to all Americans regarding the United Nations Climate Change Treaty, scheduled to be signed in Copenhagen in December 2009.
Lord Monckton served as a policy adviser to Margaret Thatcher. He has repeatedly challenged Al Gore to a debate to which Gore has refused. Monckton sued to stop Gore’s film “An Inconvenient Truth” from being shown in British schools due to its inaccuracies. The judge found in-favor of Monckton, ordering 9 serious errors in the film to be corrected. Lord Monckton travels internationally in an attempt to educating the public about the myth of global warming.

Good for him. We are cheered to see that this ordeal of puritanical witchhunting has not broken Roman Polanski’s spirit.

Nuclear Materials Stored In Siberian Parking Lots – Der Spiegel
A French documentary has revealed that radioactive materials from nuclear power plants are being stored in containers in a Siberian parking lot. Meanwhile the largest power company in Europe, France’s EDF, which sent the materials there, says it is not responsible.
The largest utility company in Europe, Électricité de France, has been accused of storing nuclear waste in an open air car park in Siberia. An investigative documentary called the “Nuclear Nightmare” that screened on Tuesday in Germany and France accuses the company of sending nuclear waste to a town in Siberia where it is then stored in metal containers in a parking lot.
The containers, the makers of the documentary — French documentary director Eric Guéret and French journalist Laure Noualhat of the newspaper Libération — report, are in the Siberian town of Seversk, formerly a secret “closed city” where there are several nuclear reactors, plants for reprocessing uranium and plutonium as well as storage and production facilities for nuclear weapons. Although the Russian town now appears on maps, entry into the area is still restricted to locals. Noualhat told SPIEGEL ONLINE that although they visited the outskirts of the city during their research, they were not able to get in themselves. However, they did interview contacts who worked in the nuclear industry inside the city. And apparently the containers can also be seen via satellite images.
Protests Erupt Over Suspected Fraud In Russian Elections – Fox News
Police on Friday detained about 10 people protesting what they consider fraud in Russia’s nationwide local elections, preventing them from delivering a petition to the presidential administration.
Friday’s small protest was led by marginalized Kremlin critics, but it followed a rare display of apparent rebellion in Russia’s Kremlin-controlled parliament. Dozens of lawmakers on Wednesday walked out in protest over the elections, which left their parties without representation in many local legislatures.
Prime Minister Vladimir Putin’s party, United Russia, was the overwhelming victor in most of the 7,000 elections held Sunday across Russia.
Independent election observers and opposition parties insist there were mass violations during voting.
“The elections were absolutely dishonest,” said Sergei Udaltsov, a sharp Kremlin critic and leader of a left-wing movement, who led Friday’s protest in central Moscow.
Udaltsov accused authorities of ballot stuffing and abusing the absentee voting system.
Moments later police violently hauled Udaltsov to a bus nearby as he began collecting signatures for a petition calling for the election results to be scrapped.
Several of his supporters were also carried away, with some shouting “disgrace!” as they grappled with police.

Faced with a promised vote to subpoena documents on Countrywide Financial’s “Friends of Angelo” program, Democrats on the House Oversight Committee fled a scheduled 2 p.m. markup today.
Rep. Darrell Issa of California, the Ranking Republican on the Oversight Committee, had promised to call for a vote at today’s markup on whether to subpoena documents involved in the program that gave sweetheart mortgages to at least four Democratic government officials, including two senators.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the program might have also benefitted the chairman of House Oversight, Rep. Edolphus Towns, D-N.Y.
Even if it had been ruled out of order, Issa’s motion would have received a vote.
The committee’s Democrats simply failed to appear. Republican staffers say they caught them on tape leaving by a back door at 2:35.

The two sides go hand-in-hand in determining if a gal is appealing over the long haul.
Also, the make up of your soul affects how you look physically. The most extreme example of this is the schizophrenic person, who, if you look at their pictures before the onset, look pretty much like anyone else, but after the illness has ravaged them for a bit, have distorted features. A less extreme example is Kirsten Powers who is quite attractive physically, but whose dour form of feminism infuses her face with a perpetual sad sack look.

HMMMMM Is it time for fans to tell the NFL PCFL to stop discriminating against Conservatives? HMMMMM, Smitty is down with that!
The NFL, like Congress, is mostly a pack of sell-outs who’ve lost their way, and deserve to be ignored. Which I’ve more or less done with the NFL since around the Reagan administration.
The big difference is that the NFL, while a sad caricature of its former glory, limits the scope of its damage mostly to itself. It is hard to imagine Harry Reid, as head coach of the Senate, or Nancy Pelosi in the House, as a bigger disaster.

The House of Representatives voted on Thursday to allow foreign terrorism suspects from the Guantanamo Bay prison into the United States to face trial.
The 307 to 114 vote removes one of many roadblocks the Obama administration faces as it tries to empty the internationally condemned prison by January.
The measure, included in a $42.8 billion bill to fund the Homeland Security Department, must be passed by the Senate before President Barack Obama can sign it into law.
Republicans had argued that allowing suspects to face trial in U.S. courts could create security risks and extend American legal protections to those who do not deserve them. But their attempt to strip the measure from the spending bill failed.
Nepali Teen Bids For Crown Of World’s Smallest Man Ever – London Times
A 22 inch-tall Nepali teenager who laid claim to the title of world’s smallest man when he came of age this week says he is looking forward to global fame, international travel – and an arranged marriage with a bride of similar stature.
When Khagendra Thapa Magar, who weighs just 10lbs, turned 18 yesterday he submitted an application to the Guinness Book of World Records, hoping to realise his ambition of being recognised as the planet’s shortest man, a title currently held by He Pingping of China, who is 28.7 inches tall.
If Mr Magar’s claim is verified, he could turn out to be the joint shortest man of all time, according to Guinness, equalling the late Gul Mohammed of Delhi, who also stood 22 inches tall and died in 1997.
Mr Magar, who enjoys karate and occasionally performs with a dancing troupe, told The Times that his life in the foothills of the Himalayas in rural Nepal – one of the world’s poorest countries – had already been transformed after world of his size spread. “God is great. He made me small in size but has now given me big name. What else could I have asked for,” he said.
He now hopes his celebrity status will let him travel to “Japan, London and America”.
“Suddenly ridicule has turned into praise. Earlier people used to make fun of me. Now they congratulate me,” he said.
The student, who has learning difficulties and says his hobbies include “playing with pebbles” and “worshipping Buddha”, also has his sights set on an arranged marriage – and children.
“I keep on telling my father to find me a small wife,” he said. “Now it’s up to him to find a right match. I would love to have children but have not yet decided about the numbers.”
