After thousands of Bama fans descend upon it to watch the Tide whip the Texas Longhorns for college football’s National Championship. Robert Stacy McCain, a big Bama fan will be headed there soon, and like I said, Pasadena, might never recover.
The game, set for January 7th, will pit the SEC against the Big 12 for the second straight year. Last year Oklahoma fell to my beloved Gators, and in 2003, those OU Sooners were whipped by LSU. So the Big 12 is 0-2 against the SEC in title tilts. And go ahead and write this in stone, Bama will make it 3-0 for the SEC.
A Bama victory will also mark the first time one conference has won four straight championships. My Gators won in 2006, and 2008, and LSU took the ring in 2007, so, it is time for Bama to get on board. A Bama win would also give the SEC a 5th ring in seven years, LSU won in 2003, as I alluded to earlier. Auburn would have won the 2004 championship, except the BCS screwed the undefeated Tigers out of a shot, so, it ought to be six in seven years for the SEC!
