Obama may hold off on health care until February?
Another Black Conservative has the story, via Politico
Politico is reporting that the White House is pushing health care off until after the State of the Union, sometime in February and will make a “very hard pivot” towards jobs instead. This can only mean that Nancy is having trouble getting her House members to swallow the senate version of the bill. Why else put off health care?
The public anger is growing by the day. More and more people are learning about the backroom deals and nasty provisions in Reid’s bill. Even people on the left are growing angry. Hmmm, could it be that Obama is trying to ease public concerns? Ease off the gas pedal a bit, move this c0ntentious issue to a back burner? It seems that Reid, Pelosi and the rest are chomping at the bit to ram this through. So, if this does get delayed, perhaps Obama is looking at this politically, and not just ideogically. The Right and the Left increasinlgly hates this bill, and no doubt the Democrats must, at some point, start thinking about keeping control of Congress and re-electing Obama in 2012.
Maybe he is willing to delay passage to score political points? Maybe those plunging approval numbers are driving such a strategic move. Maybe the thought of political suicide is scaring him? That is IF, of course, such a delay is on his mind at all.

D.C. Dems Facing Penalties For Alleged Campaign Finance Violations – Washington Examiner
The District’s Office of Campaign Finance is weighing penalties against the D.C. Democratic (Communist) State Committee for its failure to file financial reports related to its trip to the 2008 convention in Denver, among other potentially costly violations.
The Democrats’ (Communists’) committee faces thousands of dollars in fines, perhaps enough to bankrupt the organization, several members said. Each alleged violation, investigators said in a final audit issued this week, will be referred to the OCF general counsel “for any action deemed appropriate.”
The committee drastically understated its accounts, failed to file its required Jan. 31, 2008, financial statement, and did not report any receipts or expenditures related to the August 2008 Denver convention, auditors say.
Political action committees that fail to file reports are subject to a $50 per day penalty, up to $2,000 per violation.
The DCDSC has argued that “D.C. Denver Convention 2008″ was a separate and distinct organization free from reporting requirements because it was not organized to support a D.C. politician or political campaign. Not so, auditors said.
Japanese Man Takes Video Game Character As Wife – Reuters
A Japanese man has married a character in a popular video game, taking her — and his handheld game console — on an overseas honeymoon.
The man, who prefers to use his online moniker SAL9000, met character Nene Anegasaki while playing dating simulation game “Love Plus.”
They got married a few weeks ago, broadcasting their ceremony live on Japan’s version of video-sharing website Youtube.
SAL9000, who did not want to reveal his real name for fear of being misunderstood, admits to be an “otaku,” a breed of Japanese youth obsessed with video games, computers and fantasy worlds.
“In the Japanese otaku or nerd culture, there’s a tradition of calling characters my wife, and I sort of thought of Nene as my wife. Since I was calling her that, I thought we’d just have to get married then,” he told Reuters Television.
“If more people were to find ways of expressing themselves like this, I think it would make society a bit more interesting.”
Pair Allegedly Try To Swap Stolen Lizard For Booze – My Way
Police arrested two men after they stole a lizard from an animal hospital and tried to pawn it for alcohol. Police told The Ledger Independent that 44-year-old man and an 18-year-old teen stole the 18-inch bearded dragon from Eagles Landing Pet Hospital last week.
Officers later got a tip that two men had tried to pawn a reptile. When the attempt failed, police said the men went to at least two liquor stores and tried to trade the lizard for alcohol. The men were arrested not long afterward.
The lizard, known as “Big,” is back at the veterinary clinic.
The 44-year-old man was released Monday from the Rowan County Detention Center after posting $500 bond. The teen was still being held Tuesday for the same amount.
Obama’s Christmas Tree Graced By Chairman Mao, Transvestite – WorldNetDaily
The face of China’s Mao Zedong, blamed for the deaths of 50 to 80 million of his countrymen, graces an ornament on the White House Christmas tree for President (Chairman) Obama’s first holiday season in residence.
According to BigGovernment.com, the tree also features an ornament adding (Comrade) Obama to Mount Rushmore.
The images, such as the “transvestite” character “Hedda Lettuce,” are attributed to the work of Simon Doonan, creative director of Barney’s New York, whose previous projects have included Margaret Thatcher as a dominatrix and Dan Quayle as a ventriloquist’s dummy, according to the New York Times.
“Why let a holiday season come between the White House and making some political statements,” Big Government’s report asked. “These photos of ornaments on the White House Christmas tree in the Blue Room were taken just days ago. Of course, Mao has his place in the White House.”
The Times noted the White House’s choice of Doonan to decorate this year was confirmed by volunteers and florists who gathered to install annual displays.
The Times reported Doonan’s work in the White House “certainly… will be less controversial than Mr. Doonan’s displays for Barneys for more than two decades, which have alternatively fascinated and horrified holiday shoppers.”
The report said previous holiday themes have included Andy Warhol and Sigmund Freud.
“And, so soon after collecting the Nobel Peace Prize, why wouldn’t the White House have an ornament superimposing President (Chairman) Obama onto Mt. Rushmore,” said Big Government’s “Capitol Confidential” column.
Why have Americans come to tolerate, embrace and even champion many things that would have horrified their parents’ generation?
On the website’s forum page, one participant commented, “It’s a ‘Holiday Tree’ not a Christmas tree. These people don’t have any real morals so they might as well score some points with the moonbats.”
The report follows a commentary from legendary martial arts champion, actor and WorldNetDaily columnist Chuck Norris on (Comrade) Obama’s penchant for rejecting Christianity and its symbols.
Norris wrote in his recent WND column that (Comrade) Obama has “sarcastically belittled America’s Judeo-Christian heritage and degraded its adherents with trite remarks typical of any atheistic antagonist.”
He cited statements by (Comrade) Obama, including, “Whatever we were, we are no longer a Christian nation,” and “The Sermon on the Mount [is] a passage that is so radical that our own defense department wouldn’t survive its application.”

Politico reports that Alabama Democrat Rep. Parker Griffith will switch parties today. He’s a defender of grass-roots activists who protested at town halls over the summer and a cancer doctor who passionately opposes a government health care takeover. Bring it on:
POLITICO has learned that Rep. Parker Griffith, a freshman Democrat from Alabama, will announce today that he’s switching parties to become a Republican.
According to a senior GOP aide familiar with the decision, the announcement will take place in this afternoon in his home district in northern Alabama.
Griffith’s party switch comes on the eve of a pivotal congressional health care vote and will send a jolt through a Democratic House Caucus that has already been unnerved by the recent retirements of a handful of members who, like Griffith, hail from districts that offer prime pickup opportunities for the GOP in 2010.
The switch represents a coup for House Republican leadership, which had been courting Griffith since he publicly criticized Democratic leadership in the wake of raucous town halls over the summer.
Griffith, who captured the seat in a close 2008 open seat contest, will become the first Republican to hold the historically Democratic, Huntsville-based district. A radiation oncologist who founded a cancer treatment center, Griffith plans to blast the Democratic health care bill as a prime reason for his decision to switch parties—and is expected to cite his medical background as his authority on the subject.
Let the political bloweback begin for Reid, and Pelosi.

Beginning on January 1, 2015, a qualified health plan may contract with—
(B) a health care provider only if such provider implements such mechanisms to improve health care quality as the Secretary may by regulation require.
In plain English, any decision you, or your doctor, might make as regards your personal health care can and likely will ultimately have been pre-determined by Washington, DC. If a bureaucrat writes a regulation, and those will not be written or known until perhaps 18 months after this ridiculous bill has been passed, that will determine what is and what isn’t an acceptable health care choice for you, or your doctor.
The Federal Government will sit squarely in between every doctor-patient relationship that is deemed qualified for insurance purposes. Public or private, it won’t matter. And they can write whatever regulations they want. There is no way to predict what any future regulations might be. But you’ll take it or leave it, or leave any soon to be alleged privately insured health care system, while being penalized for that, too.
There will be no such thing as private health insurance any more. The federal government will dictate it all by regulation.
There it is, I have said, others have said, and anyone paying attention can plainly see where this attempt to “reform” health care will lead. So, America, what will it be? Liberty? Tyranny? Life? Or American freedom’s death by a thousand nanny state regulations?

My, my, my. Florida Rep. Alan Grayson wants to see one of his critics go directly to jail — all over her use of the word “my.”
In an effort to raise money against the outspoken freshman Democrat, a Republican activist named Angie Langley has launched “mycongressmanisnuts.com” — a Web site that parodies Grayson’s re-election site, “congressmanwithguts.com.”
Like I said, he is a walking cesspool. He reminds me of a school bully, he really does. And like a school bully, he is a cowardly man, afraid of being exposed for what he is.

Obama not “Progressive” enough?
Apparently some on the far, far, far, far Left are not convinced Obama is radical enough!
The health care plan announced in “Audacity” sounds a lot like the corporate-dominated plan cobbled together by Hillary Clinton in 1994 and echoed in the current bills to “reform” health care now being considered in Congress. Obama even buys in to the nonsense that what’s wrong with America can be cured by tort reform (which prevents ordinary Americans from holding “corporations accountable for faulty products and negligence.”) Sustar warned us, using Obama’s own words, but I failed to heed them.
Likewise, columnist David Sirota pointed out that Obama had never developed significant legislative initiatives during his first two years in the Senate and did not aspire to “challenging the status quo in any fundamental way.” Sirota wrote further–
“Obama is a candidate who has kept his record deliberately thin, who has risked almost nothing for the bigger (progressive) movement, and in fact who has sometimes gone out of his way to reinforce dishonest stereotypes about the left. This is a man who has helped launch the Hamilton Project designed to undermine Democrats pushing for fairer trade deals. This is a man who belittled Paul Wellstone (the progressive senator from Wisconsin killed in a plane crash during the election of 2002) as merely a ‘gadfly.’ This is a man who refused to lift a finger for Ned Lamont (the 2008 Democratic nominee for senator from Connecticut, who defeated Joe Lieberman in the Democratic primary, but lost to him in the general election when Lieberman ran as an independent). Flocking to a candidate like that without demanding that he change only reinforces the damaging concept that our movement is a Seinfeld Movement about nothing.”
Both Ezra Klein and Tom Hayden warned in 2006 and 2007 that Obama was an empty vessel into which those of us who consider ourselves progressives and populists could pour our fondest wishes for an America that cared about all of its people, not just the wealthy and the corporations. Hayden pointed out that Obama did not support those who might be called the “Tom Hayden Democrats,” or the “George McGovern Democrats,” or the “Jesse Jackson Democrats,” or the Martin Luther King Democrats,” or the “Cesar Chavez Democrats,” or the “Gloria Steinem Democrats,” or the “Bobby Kennedy Democrats.” And it is true, as well, that Obama does not support those who might be called the “FDR Democrats.”
As Barack Obama is demonstrating, he will work out secret deals with the pharmaceutical companies and embrace the health insurance companies, whose failures to meet the health insurance needs of all Americans are as significant as the failures of the Wall Street giants who made such a mess of the financial system that they had to be bailed out by the taxpayers. He will put no political pressure on reluctant senators and representatives to achieve health care reform worthy of the name. Instead, he allows his Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel to triangulate his policies by “setting up false polarities” (in Hayden’s words) so that he can position himself in the middle, even when the better and more intellectually honest position is elsewhere. So, we had no hearing on single-payer health insurance, and we will get, at best, a pitiable public option, if we get any option at all.
Undoubtedly, part of the cloud that hampered my vision over the past two years was the fact that Obama is African-American. As one who has supported the civil rights movement since the age of ten, who marched for equal rights, who rallied with Dr. King, who participated in demonstrations against racial segregation, and who negotiated with businessmen to end segregation in their establishments, it was no small event during my lifetime to see an African-American elected president.
But having a president who is African-American, or a woman, or a Hispanic-American, or a Native American means nothing unless that person cares more for average Americans than he or she does for the privileged and the powerful. We need a president who will challenge the status quo, both at home and abroad. It appears that in Barack Obama, we do not have such a person.
