Titled “A Blueprint for Federal Action” and released only in response to requests under the Freedom of Information Act, the 51-page Bloomberg battle plan takes another cue from the military in calling for its mission to be carried out jointly by seven federal departments and agencies: the departments of State, Justice and Homeland Security, the FBI and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE), the White House Office of Management and Budget and the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The first six agencies are wholly under President Obama’s command, while the CPSC is an independent agency headed by commissioners nominated by the president.
The “Blueprint for Federal Action,” a copy of which was obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request, presents 40 recommendations that would dramatically curtail firearms freedoms.
That Bloomberg got elected to any office truly makes my skin crawl. To think such men as Jefferson, Franklin, Madison, Washington and Mason did what they did, risked everything to form a nation founded upon God-given liberties. The good news is that she got completely naked. The bad news is that the singer is Erykah Badu. Um . . . pass.
Erykah Badu shed her clothes as she walked along a Dallas, Texas, sidewalk until she was nude and then fell near where President Kennedy was assassinated.
The result was a controversial video, released Saturday, for her song “Window Seat,” which Badu said was “shot guerrilla style” with no crew and in one take March 17. Children could be seen nearby as Badu stripped in Dealey Plaza, a popular tourist spot since Kennedy’s 1963 assassination.
Badu will not face indecent exposure charges for shedding her clothes on the Dallas, Texas, sidewalk, a Dallas Police spokeswoman said.

The New York Times: The Obama administration will approve significant oil and gas exploration off America’s coasts, including a possible sale two years from now of leases off Virginia’s coast, administration officials said Wednesday.
The move, which President Obama will announce Wednesday morning with Interior Secretary Ken Salazar at Andrews Air Force Base, ends a long-standing moratorium on oil and gas drilling along much of the East Coast, from Delaware to central Florida.
The new strategy, an administration official said, calls for also developing oil and gas exploration in the Eastern Gulf of Mexico, more than 125 miles from Florida’s coast; and in large areas in the Chukchi and Beaufort Seas in the Arctic Ocean, north of Alaska, after the government conducts detailed studies. …
The administration’s decision to open up large swaths of the Outer Continental Shelf, even as it keeps some key preserves off-limits, is likely to anger environmentalists and several key lawmakers who had pressed Obama to keep the moratorium in place. But oil and gas companies are sure to welcome the proposal.
This is good news. America should have been drilling offshore decades ago. Not drilling off America’s shores to please environmentalist was always a foolish policy. With so many nations drilling oil for us (and less responsibly too) we were only deluding ourselves into thinking we were saving the planet.the Obama administration is opening up vast areas of the coast for offshore drilling.

Iranian Nuclear Scientist Defects To U.S. In CIA Intelligence Coup – ABC News
An award-winning Iranian nuclear scientist, who disappeared last year under mysterious circumstances, has defected to the CIA and been resettled in the United States, according to people briefed on the operation by intelligence officials.
The officials were said to have termed the defection of the scientist, Shahram Amiri, “an intelligence coup” in the continuing CIA operation to spy on and undermine Iran’s nuclear program.
A spokesperson for the CIA declined to comment. In its declassified annual report to Congress, the CIA said, “Iran is keeping open the option to develop nuclear weapons though we do not know whether Tehran eventually will decide to produce nuclear weapons.”
Amiri, a nuclear physicist in his early 30s, went missing last June three days after arriving in Saudi Arabia on a pilgrimage, according to the Iranian government. He worked at Tehran’s Malek Ashtar University, which is closely connected to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, according to the Associated Press.
“The significance of the coup will depend on how much the scientist knew in the compartmentalized Iranian nuclear program,” said former White House counter-terrorism official Richard Clarke, an ABC News consultant. “Just taking one scientist out of the program will not really disrupt it.”
Iran’s Foreign Minister, Manouchehr Mottaki, and other Iranian officials last year blamed the U.S. for “kidnapping” Amiri, but his whereabouts had remained a mystery until now.

U.S. Private Sector Sheds 23,000 Jobs In March – Sydney Morning Herald
The US economy shed 23,000 private-sector jobs in March, a payrolls firm said Wednesday in a report that was dramatically worse than market expectations.
Non-farm private payrolls fell 23,000 in March on a seasonally adjusted basis, payrolls firm ADP said. Investors had expected around 40,000 jobs to be created this month.

Suicide Bombers Kill 12 More In Russia – The Guardian
A team of suicide bombers struck again in Russia early this morning following Monday’s devastating attacks, killing at least 12 people and injuring 28 others in the unstable southern Caucasus republic of Dagestan.
The bombers targeted the town of Kizlyar on the border with Chechnya. The first explosion occurred at 8.45am Moscow time when a bomber drove his Niva car towards the headquarters of the local interior ministry.

Bodies Of 21 Babies Washed Up In Plastic Bags On Riverbank – The Scotsman
The bodies of 21 babies, believed to have been dumped by hospitals, have washed up on a riverbank in eastern China. Video footage on state TV showed that the bodies – in yellow plastic bags – included some infants several months old.
Some wore identification tags with their mothers’ names, birth dates, measurements and weights. The official Xinhua News Agency said there were also foetuses among the bodies.

More than 3.3 million college students may have been victimized by a computer data theft at a Minnesota company that handles federal student loans.
According to a story over the weekend in the Minneapolis Star Tribune, thieves stole the data earlier this month from ECMC. The company was founded 16 years ago as Educational Credit Management Corp.

Lawmakers Demand Administration Deploy National Guard, Border Patrol After Killing – Fox News
Lawmakers from Arizona and New Mexico are ratcheting up their demands that the Obama administration deploy hundreds of National Guard troops and Border Patrol agents to the Mexican border after the killing of a prominent southeast Arizona rancher.
Local police say Robert Krentz, 58, whose body was found slumped over his ATV on his ranch Saturday, was probably shot to death by an illegal immigrant. Footprints from the scene of the crime led back across the Mexican border.

Man Jumps To Death From Empire State Building – Washington Post
A 21-year-old man plunged to his death Tuesday in an apparent suicide jump off the Empire State Building, authorities said. Police say the man was dead when rescue workers arrived at the 102-story skyscraper shortly before 6:30 p.m.
Authorities would not immediately release his name or say from which floor he had jumped. The Empire State Building is the third-tallest building in the United States.

In October 2007, a jury awarded the Snyders $2.9 million in compensatory damages, $6 million in punitive damages for invasion of privacy and $2 million for causing emotional distress. It was thrown out on appeal by the Fourth Circuit. Federal judges have now ordered the family to pay $16,510 to ringleader Fred Phelps as they pursue a Supreme Court case. SCOTUS agreed earlier this month to hear the Snyders’ appeal.

Now, I know that Liberals often define words very differently than real people do, and the word “fair” is a great example. Joe Biden illustrates my point very well.

I call it just being fair – giving the middle class taxpayers an even break that the wealthy have been getting.”
The top quintile of Americans earned 55.7% of pretax income and paid 69.3% of federal taxes in 2006, according to the most recent CBO data. But the Vice President isn’t buying the idea that the wealthiest are already paying their fair share, noting the top 1% of earners get 22% of all income made in the U.S.
“Taxes have been lowered for the wealthy considerably over the years,” he says. “It’s about time we get a little tax equity here.”
See what I mean? Biden calls punishing the more successful fair. He calls a graduated tax rate fair. I call it Socialistic, unfair, assbackwards, and un-American!
One more thing, if health care is a right, if we are entitled to it, then WHY should anyone pay for it? Do we pay for the right to speak, or worship as we choose? Now, I am not arguing that health care insurance is a right at all. All I am saying is, if the Liberals are serious about it being a right, then they ought to argue it ought to be free shouldn’t they? Sorry, I know I am asking for some intellectual consistency from the Left, and that is certainly never going to happen.

But just what is that philosophy – you may be asking with your head cocked slightly to one side – and who the hell are you, anyway?
Well dear friends, my name is Edward L. Daley, and I was a radical, activistic conservative long before the term ‘tea party’ was reintroduced into our political lexicon. Now please shut the hell up for a moment and allow me to enlighten you.

Over 100 Released Gitmo Detainees Have Returned To Terrorism – Fox News
Prior to his release in December, Abdul Hafiz was Prisoner Number 1030 at Guantanamo Bay. Now, less than four months later, he’s back home in Afghanistan and working for the Taliban – just the latest of more than 100 released detainees who have returned to terrorism, according to the Pentagon.
Hafiz, suspected in the March 2003 kidnapping and murder of an International Red Cross worker, was the “Taliban head of all Madrassas… responsible for recruiting and sending young men to fight for the Taliban,” according to U.S. government memos. He was said to have maintained contacts for Mullah Mohammad Omar, the leader of the Taliban of Afghanistan, and to have admitted to participating in jihad against the Soviets.
But despite the list of charges against him, the U.S. government transferred Hafiz to his home country in December. And now, a senior U.S. official tells Fox News, he is back on the battlefield. According to a published report, Hafiz has been appointed by Mullah Omar to oversee ransom demands for kidnapping victims and to coordinate with nongovernment-aid organizations operating in the Taliban’s areas of influence.
That makes Hafiz just the latest addition to an increasingly long list of former Guantanamo detainees suspected to have returned to terror. The Pentagon, in an estimate issued in January, now believes that roughly 20 percent of the 560 detainees who were released from Guantanamo are back on the terror front lines.
The figure, which was echoed in a Feb. 1 letter from President Obama’s chief counterterrorism adviser, John Brennan, to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, is a nearly 50 percent increase from the Pentagon’s estimate of 14 percent last April, and nearly double the 11 percent estimate issued in January 2009.
And though the current estimate is higher than ever, it’s still a “low-ball” one, says Lt. Col. Jeff Addicott, a former Green Beret and judge advocate general and director of the Center for Terrorism Law at St. Mary’s University. “I’d say the figure is probably closer to 30 to 40 percent,” Addicott told FoxNews.com. “A lot of these folks go underground, they change their name, they hide out a little bit, they pop back up.”

300 Companies Push To Repeal Obamacare Provision – New York Times
An association representing 300 large corporations urged President Obama and Congress on Monday to repeal a provision of the health care overhaul that prompted AT&T and other companies to announce substantial charges for the current quarter.
The American Benefits Council said the provision – which limits tax deductions for companies with drug coverage for their retired employees – would deal a significant blow to corporate profits and discourage companies from hiring more workers.

Lawyers for the father of Marine Lance Cpl. Matthew Snyder, who died in Iraq and whose funeral was picketed by anti-gay protesters, say a court has ordered him to pay the protesters’ appeal costs.
On Friday, the Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit ordered that Albert Snyder of York, Pa., pay costs associated with Fred Phelps’ appeal. Phelps is the leader of the Westboro Baptist Church, which conducted protests at the funeral of Snyder’s son.

Dying Hospital Patient Phoned Switchboard Begging For Water After Nurses Said ‘No’ – Daily Mail
A patient desperate for a drink of water had to telephone the switchboard of the hospital he was being treated in to beg to see a doctor. Derek Sauter, 60, used his mobile phone to request medical attention after his pleas for help were ignored.
But when the doctor arrived he was turned away by ward nurse Caroline Lowe, who said Mr Sauter was ‘over-reacting’ and threatened to confiscate his phone. Eight hours later the grandfather-of-three, who was suffering with a chest infection, was dead.

CNN Poll: Big Shift On Closing Guantanamo Bay Facility – CNN
Support for closing the facility has dropped 12 points over the past 14 months, a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey indicates. Shortly before Obama’s inauguration, 51 percent of Americans said they thought the facility in Cuba should be closed.
Now that number is down to 39 percent, and six in ten believe the United States should continue to operate Guantanamo. The poll, released Sunday, suggests independent voters are contributing to the 12 point overall drop.

Toilet Timers Fitted At Government Agency Office – SWNS
Civil servants are furious after bosses fitted timers to stop them spending longer than ten minutes – on the loo. Dozens of workers have been caught short since the cost-cutting measures were introduced at the Government Office for the West Midlands (GOWM).
A hidden sensor switches off the toilet light after ten minutes, forcing people to finish what they are doing and leave – in the dark. Furious staff have slammed the GOWM, which introduced the plans to save millions of pounds.

Police: Man Makes Bomb Threat To Get Day Off – WKMG
A Florida man is accused of calling in a bomb threat at a hotel so he could get the day off of work, Miami television station WPLG reported. Coral Gables police said they received a 911 call at 4:51 a.m. According to police the caller said, “There is a bomb at the Biltmore Hotel… and death to all Jews,” then hung up the phone.
Officers went to the hotel and determined the bomb threat was not credible. Police traced the call to the executive chef’s office at the hotel. Authorities said they used surveillance videos to determine 62-year-old Thomas Hudnall had been in the area at the time of the call.

Poodle Adopts Orphaned Squirrels – WTSP
Three orphaned baby squirrels in Hicksboro, North Carolina, have found a new mama: a poodle named Pixie. The Daily Dispatch of Henderson says the squirrels lived in a tree that was cut down. Pixie’s owner, Gail Latta, tried to feed the squirrels with milk for newborn puppies and kittens, but that didn’t work.
Pixie had given birth to a litter of puppies a few months ago, so she jumped right in to clean and feed the squirrels herself. The squirrels are now five weeks old and have been taken to a federal animal rehabilitation specialist, who will eventually release them into the wild.

Feds: Woman Posed As FBI Agent, ‘Hired’ Neighbors – Yahoo News
Authorities say a Virginia woman pretended to be an FBI agent and conned her neighbors into taking jobs as her assistants. Twenty-nine-year-old Brenna Reilly of Arlington was indicted by a federal grand jury in Alexandria last week on a charge of impersonating an FBI agent.
According to a court affidavit, Reilly told neighbors in her apartment complex that she was the FBI’s director of forensics. Two of those neighbors say they agreed to work as Reilly’s assistant and put personal information such as their social security numbers on phony job applications.
Anti-Semitic nutcase who threatened Eric Cantor arrested

Just obtained this from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Philadelphia:
Today, a two-count complaint and warrant was filed charging Norman Leboon with threatening to kill United States Congressman Eric Cantor and his family, and threatening to kill Congressman Eric Cantor, who is an official of the United States, announced United States Attorney Michael L. Levy and FBI Special Agent in Charge Jan Fedarcyk. As set forth in the affidavit to the complaint and warrant, in or about late March, 2010, Leboon created and then transmitted a YouTube video to Google over the internet, in which he threatened to kill Congressman Cantor and his family. No harm came to the Congressman or his family as a result of Leboon’s threats.
“The Department of Justice takes threats against government officials seriously, especially threats to kill or injure others,” said Levy. “Whether the reason for the threat is personal or political, threats are not protected by the First Amendment and are crimes.”
By the way, since the media is SOOOOOOO intent on telling everyone how dangerous that “Republican Rhetoric” is, I ask them if the fact that this loon was an Obama donor means that Obama’s “rhetoric” led to this? Just wondering.
