Words that sound nice together
Words like salt and pepper, fried and chicken, Jennifer Aniston and NAKED Lance elaborates.
Jennifer Aniston’s got a new perfume coming out. Yeah, I know, you don’t care. In the ad campaign, though, Aniston is going to be totally naked…under a towel.
Jennifer Aniston came up with the idea to pose naked for the advertising campaign behind her new Lolavie fragrance.
The actress, 41, was keen to get a ton of attention for her latest venture — and, of course, herself.
“Being naked was all Jennifer’s idea,” a source told PopEater. “She is a marketing genius.”
If scantily-clad women (or, in this case, allegedly naked women) are a genius-level marketing idea, then ladies and gentlemen: congratulations. You are all geniuses. Sex sells. Beauty sells. Combine the two, and you’ve got sales, squared.
Good call, Lance

Belgian Government Collapses After Party Quits – New York Times
Belgian Prime Minister Yves Leterme’s five-month-old government collapsed on Thursday after the Flemish liberal party pulled out of his coalition.
Leterme, 49, called an emergency meeting of his cabinet early on Thursday afternoon to inform ministers that his second term in office was at an end, and left for the royal palace to tender his government’s resignation to King Albert.
“Yves Leterme had no other choice than to inform us that he would go to the king immediately to tender the government’s resignation,” Health Minister Laurette Onkelinx told reporters.
Without the backing of the centre-right Open VLD, the remaining four parties in government still have 76 of the 150 seats in the lower house of parliament but it would be hard to govern with such a slim majority.

Open VLD said it had lost confidence in the government because of its failure to resolve a dispute between French- and Dutch-speaking parties over electoral boundaries around the capital, Brussels.
“We have not agreed on a negotiated solution and therefore Open VLD no longer has confidence in the government,” said Alexander De Croo, the party’s chairman.
Economists have expressed concern that political paralysis would harm the prospects of reducing Belgium’s budget deficit, which the government has forecast will be 4.8 percent of gross domestic product in 2010.
Belgian debt is expected to exceed 100 percent of GDP this year.
The premium investors demanded for holding Belgian debt increased on Thursday. The spread between 10-year Belgian bonds and German bunds had widened to 49 basis points from 43 at Wednesday’s close, although this was in line with a widening trend for other euro zone sovereign bonds.

Why the Hell is a Gay man so into Sarah Palin’s uterus anyway?
It seems that, I have diagnosed yet another Liberal disease, Dr. RS McCain has discovered the first known case of Uterus Obsession Syndrome, and, oddly enough, it seems that a Gay man, Andrew Sullivan, is the first victim.
I would also like to clarify that Alyssa Milano’s breasts were not involved, in any way, with the discovery of U.O.S.
The DaleyGator Quote of the Day
Comes from the Greg Gutfeld, in his post about Kim Kardashian and how she holds her cat. read the whole post, but the last line is a classic
And if you disagree with me, you’re a racist homophobe who heckles during sex.
And folks, heckling during sex is nothing to joke about it, in fact, it is why my last girlfriend and I parted ways. She could really get nasty.
Oh no! Phil has Rule 5 confusion
Trying to decide who is hotter! Christina Hendricks vs Adriana Lima vs Megan Fox!
What do you think of this development? In the ultimate Rule 5 goodness, Esquire magazine hands the Robot a reason to include these three beauties in a single post! Not that I really needed one, mind you.report, Esquire magazine’s latest poll of 10,000 -wait for it- women(!) ranked Christina Hendricks as the best looking female, knocking Megan Fox down to number three with model Adriana Lima coming in second.
Certainly none of them deserve the “sexiest” title, but hey, to each his own I guess By the way, my pick for sexiest woman? Cote de Pablo!
Well, Phil has quite the quandry doesn’t he? My vote, Fox #1
Hendricks #2
and Lima? Too skinny, give that gal some food!
If only the Tea Party was the Gay Tea Party…….
Obama might treat us differently
Touchy, touchy, touchy. Guess President Obama couldn’t tell the gay hecklers who interrupted his DNC fund-raising speech to sit down and shut up. Because that would be, you know, intolerant and hateful and all the things he accuses the Tea Party movement of every day.
Instead, the thin-skinned commander-in-chief snarked: “I’m sorry, do you want to come up here?”
The video is up at Real Clear Politics. The story is up at the Washington Times.
Will the White House press office team put on their civility badges and start lecturing gay activists about the need for calm discourse?
Well, I’ll be! I guess some political discourse is more equal than others.

Jim DeMint trying to cure John Cornyn of Stupiditis!
by GatorDoug
In the ongoing struggle to ween the GOP establishment off of RINO milk, Jim DeMint is fighting for common sense, while Texas senator John Cornyn seems loathe to put down the RINO bottle. This story, in the Wall Street Journal gives us a glimpse into the struggle the GOP are in to embrace Conservative candidates, like Marco Rubio, and kick the Dead Skunk Republicans, to the curb.
Sen. John Cornyn, who is spearheading the Republicans’ campaign to take back the Senate, is on a roll. The GOP snatched a seat in Massachusetts and polls favor Republicans in many key states. But the genial Texas lawyer is facing an unusual challenge—from one of his own colleagues. Firebrand conservative Sen. Jim DeMint of South Carolina, breaking with the Senate’s tradition of deference, is endorsing and funding conservative candidates to challenge the party establishment’s picks. Just last week, he backed a conservative insurgent in the Colorado Republican primary over a former lieutenant governor.
The Republican Party is in play, and the passage of President Barack Obama’s health plan has inflamed the intraparty wrangling.
On one side are pragmatists like Mr. Cornyn who insist that uncompromising conservatives aren’t good bets to win swing states. On the other are purists like Mr. DeMint who want to field as many conservatives as possible to recapture the public’s trust at a moment when faith in government is at low ebb.
History suggests Mr. Cornyn’s approach is a safer bet. But recent polls suggest that in a number of states this year, the purist conservative could defeat the Democrat in the general election.
Mr. DeMint is deploying his Senate Conservatives Fund as a counterweight to Mr. Cornyn’s National Republican Senatorial Committee, pushing antiestablishment GOP candidates in Florida, California and Colorado.
Look, I like John Cornyn, I have voted for him, and admire a lot about him. But, he is dead wrong in his approach to retaking the Senate. We all know how his support of Charlie Crist turned out in Florida. Cornyn, and the NRSC jumped on the “Crist is electable” bandwagon, and now, that Marco Rubio is far ahead of Crist in the polls, Mr. Electable RINO is looking at sticking a knife into Cornyn’s back by running as an independent. Try as he might, Cornyn seems addicted to diminished expectations for Republican candidates. His philosophy is to keep putting out the same old weak-spined, squishy Republicans in the hope of winning seats.
Come on Senator, why not run more Conservative candidates? Let voters decide in primaries, give those anti-establishment guys and gals a shot. If we are really going to retake Congress, why not do it with candidates who are fresh, and sincere to Conservative principles?
DeMint, unlike Cornyn, seems to grasp that we need not lower our expectations before we even try to support real Conservatives. DeMint, and most Republicans, I would guess, are in favor of at least trying, rather than giving up before we even begin to fight. Come on Senator Cornyn, get your expectations up. Conservatism beats Liberalism, get behind the candidates who actually espouse Conservatism.
Yes, we know, you have to win elections to get anywhere, but winning with “Republicans” who vote like Democrats is called losing Senator Cornyn. Or if you do not believe me, just check your back for that knife Crist has planted in it.

Michelle Malkin 100,000, NY Times columnist -100,000
DAMN! Michelle Malkin takes columnist Charles Blow, and other race baiting Liberal media types behind the woodshed! And she uses BIG stick!
This is Charles Blow. Blow is an African-American columnist for the New York Times. He flew down to the Dallas Tea Party to see what he could see. He saw what he wanted to see and he might as well have used the new smear term from Tea Party-bashers that I noted last week: “Tea Klanners.”
The title of his screed? “A mighty pale tea.”
Blow used his column from his hallowed perch at the Times to malign minority conservatives as minstrel tokens and puppets for the movement. How…original. He singled out my friend Alfonzo “Zo” Rachel — the young, delightfully talented conservative comedian — and essentially accused every non-white activist who opposes endless bailouts, massive new entitlements, and Obama’s culture of corruption of being incapable of thinking for himself/herself:
The juxtaposition was striking: an abundance of diversity on the stage and a dearth of it in the crowd, with the exception of a few minorities like the young black man who carried a sign that read “Quit calling me a racist.”
They saved the best for last, however: Alfonzo “Zo” Rachel. According to his Web site, Zo, who is black and performs skits as “Zo-bama,” allowed drugs to cost him “his graduation.” Before ripping into the president for unconstitutional behavior, he cautioned, “I don’t have the education that our president has, so if I misinterpret some things in the founding documents I kind of have an excuse.” That was the understatement of the evening.
I found the imagery surreal and a bit sad: the minorities trying desperately to prove that they were “one of the good ones”; the organizers trying desperately to resolve any racial guilt among the crowd. The message was clear: How could we be intolerant if these multicolored faces feel the same way we do?
It was a farce.
You want “farce?” I’ve pointed out many times over the years that the loudest preachers of skin-deep diversity work for media institutions that fail to practice their own social engineering sermons.
See, for example: The indelible whiteness of MSNBC.
Or: White anchor at indelibly white network decries “white tribalism”.
Or: Let’s make a holiday gift guide for New York Times executives.
In that last post, I poked fun at the Times for publishing a separate but equal gift guide for people “of color” — and pointed to the Fishwrap of Record’s own “practice diversity as we say, not as we do” philosophy as illustrated by its own board of directors:
I noted then that the NYTimes editorial board is similarly complected.
I love this, no wonder Michelle is A) My Blogging Role Model, and B) so,loathed by the Left! She has much more, go read it, it is priceless!
Linked at ColdFury, and Motor City Times thanks!
Charlie Crist walks into a bar with a dead skunk…………..
Top GOP officials in DC now believe it is a virtual certainty that FL Gov. Charlie Crist (R) will bolt the GOP and run instead as an independent, sources tell Hotline OnCall.Over the weekend, Crist pulled TV advertisements that had been running in key markets, slamming ex-FL House Speaker Marco Rubio (R). Those ads, on which Crist spent close to $1.5M so far, were aimed at moving poll numbers that showed Crist losing badly. In taking the ads down, top GOP officials have surmised both that Crist has made his decision to run as an independent, and that the attacks weren’t having an impact on the race.Privately, GOP officials have even tried to broach the idea that Crist drop out of the race. NRSC chair John Cornyn called Crist on Friday, intending to make it clear that Crist should drop out if he doesn’t believe he can win a party primary. Crist did not answer the phone, a source close to Cornyn said, and as of today Cornyn’s call hasn’t been returned
Remember who to thank for this debacle: John Cornyn and the treacherous bastards at the NRSC.
Amen!, it was the NRSC that decided, before Florida Republicans could have a chance to, that Crist was the golden child that “could win one for the GOP”. They dismissed Rubio, and annointed Crist, now look where that has gotten them. Will they ever learn?

Stacy McCain and I are lucky guys
By Gatordoug
Earlier my blogging partner in crime Edward Daley, he is the DALEY in the DaleyGator, posted a video featuring a ballgirl upstaging an outfielder. A few minutes after this, Smitty, The ‘blogging sidekick” for The Other McCain, posted this.
DG may be slipping in his dotage:
Isn’t it obvious that the baseball is any national or international event, the girl with the (base) balls is Sarah Palin, and the shmuck is a Barely Halfwit Outfielder?
An excellent metaphor indeed and, kudos to Smitty for catching it, and for linking Ed and I, he has excellent taste in blogs. This also reminded me of just how similar Stacy McCain and I are. We are both handsome devils even though my taste in hats is better than his. We both do our best to defeat Liberalism every day. We are both proud Southerners who do not hesitate to defend our ancestors to the hilt, and are both huge SEC football fans.
There is another thing we share, we both have two of the sharpest blogging partners to rely on. General Lee had Stonewall Jackson, JEB Stuart, and James Longstreet. Stacy and I have Ed and Smitty! Put it this way, if the blogosphere was a dark alley, late at night, neither Stacy nor I would hesitate to enter, for we would have Ed and Smitty. And those two are enough to thwart any Leftist thugs, in any dark alley, any night!
Doug’s thought of the day
Today is the 235th anniversary of Lexington and Concorde, more commonly known as “Patriots Day“. Wizbang has a brief history. Here is a snippet
It was on this day 235 years ago that the British army set out to arrest two key patriots, Samuel Adams and John Hancock. They also wanted to capture a stockpile of Colonial ammunition stored at Concord.
As the British advanced, Paul Revere, William Dawes and Samuel Prescott rode out to warn the surrounding towns, signaling the Minutemen to ready themselves for possible confrontation.
Now, here is my thought. If MSNBS, and CNN, and the rest of the main stream media were around that day, how would they have painted those patriots and minutemen? Wanna bet they would be coloring them as radicals, dangerous, and, OF COURSE, extremists? Just think about it.

Top Al-Qaeda Leaders Slain In Iraq – USA Today
The top two leaders of al-Qaeda in Iraq were killed in a joint U.S.-Iraqi military operation, U.S. and Iraqi officials said Monday.
Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said Abu Omar al-Baghdadi and Abu Ayyub al-Masri were killed Sunday when U.S. and Iraqi forces rocketed a home where they were hiding out. The U.S. military confirmed the two top leaders were killed in the attack, just a few miles outside of the northern city of Tikrit, the hometown of former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein.
“The death of these terrorists is potentially the most significant blow to al-Qaeda in Iraq since the beginning of the insurgency,” Gen. Ray Odierno, the top U.S. commander in Iraq, said in a statement. “The government of Iraq, intelligence services and security forces supported by U.S. intelligence and special operations forces have over the last several months continued to degrade AQI. There is still work to do, but this is a significant step forward in ridding Iraq of terrorists.”
Al-Masri, also known as Abu Hamzah al-Muhajir, was the military leader of al-Qaeda in Iraq, which has run a well-organized and lethal insurgency aimed at ousting the U.S. military and toppling the Iraqi government. Al-Qaeda in Iraq is responsible for killing thousands of civilians as well as U.S. and Iraqi troops.

Al-Masri replaced Abu Musab al-Zarqawi after the former al-Qaeda in Iraq leader was killed in June 2006 in a U.S.-led raid on his hiding place near the north-central city of Baqouba.
Al-Qaeda in Iraq has been greatly diminished since the worst days of the insurgency of the 2006-07, but the militant group still has proved the ability to make its mark with spectacular attacks.
In recent months, the terrorist organization has claimed responsibility for a series of suicide bombings on government buildings and hotels popular with Westerners that have left hundreds dead.
Al-Baghdadi, also known as Hamid Dawud Muhammad Khalil al Zawi, was also killed in the attack. He served al-Qaeda in Iraq as the leader of the proclaimed Islamic State of Iraq and held the title “Prince of the Faithful.”
Maliki announced the killings at a news conference in Baghdad and showed reporters photographs of their bloody corpses.
The Iraqi army arrested 16 additional suspects who were wanted on criminal warrants, according to a U.S. military statement.
One U.S. soldier was killed in the operation when the helicopter the soldier was flying in crashed, the U.S. military said.
