New Yorkers Wage Jihad Vs. WTC Mosque – New York Post
Angry relatives of 9/11 victims last night clashed with supporters of a planned mosque near Ground Zero at a raucous community-board hearing in Manhattan.
After four hours of public debate, members of Community Board 1 finally voted 29-1 in support of the project. Nine members abstained, arguing that they wanted to table the issue and vote at a later date.
The board has no official say over whether the estimated $100 million mosque and community center gets built. But the panel’s support, or lack of it, is considered important in influencing public opinion.
Holding up photos of loved ones killed in the Twin Towers and carrying signs such as, “Honor 3,000, 9/11 – No mosque!” opponents of the proposed Cordoba House on Park Place called the plan an insult to the terror-attack victims.
“That is a burial ground,” said retired FDNY Deputy Chief Al Santora, referring to the fact that victims’ remains were scattered for blocks.
Santora’s 23-year-old son, Christopher, was the youngest firefighter to die that day.

“I do have a problem with having a mosque on top of the site where [terrorists] can gloat about what they did,” said Santora, with his wife, Maureen, by his side.
About 150 people attended the emotional Greenwich Street meeting, were some shouted down others as they took their turns.
Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, the head of the Cordoba Institute, which is in charge of the project, insisted that the site would help “bridge the great divide” between Muslims and the rest of America.
“We are Americans, we are Muslim Americans,” Rauf said. “Many of us were born in the United States. We have no higher aspirations than to bring up our children in peace and harmony in this country.”
But the crowd got ugly when he added, “Freedom of assembly is the right of all Americans.”
Amid boos, one woman shouted, “Not at the World Trade Center!”
Rauf’s wife, Daisy Khan, followed him to the microphone to pitched the planned community facility as “much needed party space and much needed venue space” for the area. She was roundly booed.

Audacity, thy name is Mexico
Get a load of this from Michelle. And beware, your head just might explode!
Update: Mexico tells us how to police our border:
Regarding the Administration’s decision to send 1,200 National Guard servicemen to the US Southern border, the Government of Mexico trusts that this decision will help to channel additional US resources to enhance efforts to prevent the illegal flows of weapons and bulk cash into Mexico, which provide organized crime with its firepower and its ability to corrupt.
Additionally, the Government of Mexico expects that National Guard personnel will strengthen US operations in the fight against transnational organized crime that operates on both sides of our common border and that it will not, in accordance to its legal obligations, conduct activities directly linked to the enforcement of immigration laws.
Folks, I cannot add to this right now, there are not enough curse words to sufficiently express my outrage.
OK kids, time for another game
How about we play Spot the Drunken Anti-American? Left coast Rebel, rips into Patrick Kennedy, and provides a great picture for our game. So, take a peek and see if you can Spot the Drunken Anti-American.
Did you pick? It was a trick question though. Both of these douchebags are drunks, well, one used to be I guess, and both are anti-American. Thanks for playing.
2014 Super Bowl to be played where?
In freakin’ Joisy? Are they freakin’ kiddin’ me or what? I hope it freakin’ sleets, snows, and freezes. That is what the NFL deserves for this idiotic move. I mean an outdoor stadium, in the Northeast, in February? What could possibly happen? There could be a freakin’ blizzard, that is what could freakin’ happen.
OK now I have the desire to use the word freakin’ out of my system, I will say that this could prove to be a terrible choice for a venue.
I intend to sue Sister Toldjah for pain and suffering caused by….
This video she posted on her blog, knowing innocent bloggers would visit and, be caught in this bear trap. Dear God my eyes!
Of course, I have too big a crush on Sister Toldjah to ever sue her, and after washing my eyes out several times, although those mental images will scar me for years, I figured out that she had actually done me a favor. I was looking for a Marxist Moron of the Day, and well, Code Pink looks good for that. Goodness knows I will never have another chance to use “looks good” and Code Pink” in the same sentence again.
So, thanks Sis, you rock.
Today in Carol’s Closet………..
Carol’s head is ready to explode.
The final nail in the coffin may come in the form of stealing $165 billion additional dollars from taxpayers to fund union pensions that were mismanaged and misappropriated by the bosses who support Democrats in good times and bad.
A Democratic senator is introducing legislation for a bailout of troubled union pension funds. If passed, the bill could put another $165 billion in liabilities on the shoulders of American taxpayers. The bill, which would put the Pension Benefit Guarantee Corporation behind struggling pensions for union workers, is being introduced by Senator Bob Casey, (D-Pa.), who says it will save jobs and help people.
As FOX Business Network’s Gerri Willis reported Monday, these pensions are in bad shape; as of 2006, well before the market dropped and recession began, only 6% of these funds were doing well.
Although right now taxpayers could possibly be on the hook for $165 billion, the liability could essentially be unlimited because these pensions have to be paid out until the workers die. (emphasis added)
I think this can be summed up pretty easily:
1. You and I go to work
2. Uncle Obama confiscates a portion of our paychecks
3. Uncle Obama uses the money we earned to bailout the unions
4. The unions contribute and vote for Uncle Obama
5. Repeat as necessary
Oh, but don’t DARE call this Socialism, or Communism, or “Conservatives” like Michael Medved, will get the vapors, and whine about how we are sounding loony. Sorry Michael, but telling the truth is not a bad thing, being afraid of telling it however…….
An award for giving an Award?
It seems that I have been honored by Bob Belevedere for naming Patrick Kennedy my Daley Douchebag winner yesterday. Bob takes Patches to task for his asinine assertions about the Arizona immigration law.
Representative Patrick ‘Patches’ Kennedy [D-Cretin]:
CNSNews.com: What is your reaction to the [Mexican] president criticizing the Arizona law?
Patrick Kennedy: Well he’s right on. I mean, it violates the spirit of our own Constitution. So, you know, we had a tragic history in this country. The most shameful parts of our history were when we had our slave trade, when we, when we, the Trail of Tears — what we did to our Native Americans. And, you know, the proudest moments in our history are when we had the Civil Rights Act, when we moved forward on integration and expanding the opportunities for all of our citizens. So, this idea of, you know, racial profiling, takes us backwards and really goes to the worst character of our nation and it’s, it’s demeaning to our country that we would move in that direction. It’s beneath us as a people.
Bob beats up on Kennedy pretty badly, and it is well deserved. Kennedy is either a complete moron, or he is simply engaging in the long-held Liberal tradition of race baiting. Of course, in Kennedy’s case it could well be both.
Anyway, thanks Bob!
Hey kids lets play spot the lying weasel
American Glob has been red hot lately, and today, he asks us to pick the liar. Is it Joe Sestak? or the White House?
Joe Sestak claimed months ago that he was offered a job by the White House if he would drop out of the Pennsylvania Democratic primary to make way for Obama approved loser, Arlen Specter.
Now everyone is trying to change the story.
Someone is lying.
If Stestak is telling the truth then a felony was committed. A felony as in
The charges, if true, are an impeachable offense.
Yes, if true these charges could have a massive impact. But, I will predict that nothing much will come out of this. Maybe Sestak will “remember” that he “misremembered” something along those lines.
Well, well, now we know what really caused the BP oil disaster
Wouldn’t you know it was PORN? Robert Stacy McCain fills us in.
Instead of, y’know, making sure we didn’t have an oil rig disaster:
Staff members at an agency that oversees offshore drilling accepted tickets to sports events, lunches and other gifts from oil and gas companies and used government computers to view pornography, according to an Interior Department report alleging a culture of cronyism between regulators and the industry.
In at least one case, an inspector for the Minerals Management Service admitted using crystal methamphetamine and said he might have been under the influence of the drug the next day at work, according to the report by the acting inspector general of the Interior Department.
The report cites a variety of violations of federal regulations and ethics rules at the agency’s Louisiana office. Previous inspector general investigations have focused on inappropriate behavior by the royalty-collection staff in the agency’s Denver office.
See kids, porn, drugs and oil just do not mix. Or actually, to put it more concisely, ANYTHING and government bureaucracy do not mix.

N. Korea Accuses South Of Trespassing, Threatens Military Action – AFP
North Korea accused South Korea’s navy Tuesday of trespassing in its waters and threatened military action, further raising tensions sparked by the sinking of one of Seoul’s warships in March.
The South has announced a series of reprisals including a trade ban after a multinational investigation concluded last week that a North Korean submarine had torpedoed the Cheonan on March 26.
The communist North denies involvement in the sinking, which claimed 46 lives and brought it widespread international condemnation. It threatens full-scale war if there is any attempt to punish it.
The North’s military made its complaint Tuesday in a message to the South’s armed forces, Pyongyang’s official Korean Central News Agency reported.
Over 10 days ending Monday, it said, dozens of the South’s naval ships had intruded into the North’s waters.
“This is a deliberate provocation aimed to spark off another military conflict in the West (Yellow) Sea of Korea and thus push to a war phase the present North-South relations that reached the lowest ebb,” KCNA quoted the message as saying.
If the intrusions continued, the North “will put into force practical military measures to defend its waters… and the South side will be held fully accountable for all the ensuing consequences”.
The defence ministry denied any of its ships had crossed the border known as the Northern Limit Line, which the North refuses to accept.
The flashpoint frontier was the scene of deadly naval clashes in 1999 and 2002 and of a firefight last November that left a North Korean patrol boat in flames. Seoul military chiefs believe the Cheonan was sunk in revenge.
The South has ruled out a military counter-attack but is seeking diplomatic support to refer the sinking to the United Nations Security Council.
In an apparent show of strength, the defence ministry said the South’s navy would stage an anti-submarine drill in the Yellow Sea Thursday. A spokesman would not confirm a Yonhap news agency report that 10 ships would be involved.
The military also said a destroyer is stationed in the Jeju Strait off the south coast to stop the North’s cargo ships using it. The South shut its sea lanes to the North as part of reprisals announced Monday.

New York Leftists Concoct Legislation Preventing Cops From Shooting To Kill Bad Guys – Gothamist
Cops are furious over a new bill that would require them to shoot suspects in the arm or leg rather than shooting to kill – even in life-or-death shootouts with armed criminals.
The newly introduced “minimum force” bill would edit the justification clause, requiring cops to shoot “with the intent to stop, rather than kill” instead of giving the officer the right to kill if they feel their life is in danger.

Happy blogiversary to Wyblog
Chris has been at it three years now. Keep it up.
May 24, 2007 — Samuel David Cheney, the sixth grandchild of Vice President Dick Cheney, was born at Sibley Hospital in Washington; The Yankees beat the Red Sox 8-3; Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, the third movie in the popular Disney series, starring Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom, made its silver screen debut; Tommy Chong celebrated his 69th birthday; 17-year-old Jordan Sparks won American Idol; and…
An obscure middle-aged software engineer cobbled together some Perl scripts on a Vaxstation 4000-60 and WyBlog went live at 4:56 PM.
You know, that reminds me that this blog is about to turn two, next month. And Ed and I are cruising towards 300,000 hits. Hey, a bit of back patting is OK.
Your Daley Douchebag of the Day
Is one Patrick Kennedy, who compares the Arizona immigration law to the Trail of Tears, Slavery, and maybe even the Hindenburg tragedy too. Perhaps, since this award is being bestowed upon Patrick Kennedy, I should call it the Druken Douchebag of the Day?
Video via Hot Air, where there is a must see bonus video.
What can lax border security lead to?
Michelle has details of what can happen when we refuse, as a nation, to enforce our immigration laws.
In 2007, a gang of MS-13-tied illegal aliens ambushed a group of young college students in Newark and murdered them execution-style in a schoolyard. A refresher course before we get to the jury decision that came down this morning:
I covered the story — and the open-borders failures that paved the way for the murderers — extensively (see here, here, here, here, here, here, and here. A reminder of the brutal crime:
The four students were hanging out behind Mount Vernon School on Aug. 4, 2007, when they were confronted by their attackers with a handgun and a machete. Three of the victims — Terrance Aeriel, 18, Dashon Harvey, 20, and Iofemi Hightower, 20 — were killed when they were lined up against the wall and shot in the back of the head. Terrance’s sister, Natasha Aeriel, survived after being shot in the face and left for dead.
All of the victims were robbed, and Aeriel and the group’s other female, Iofemi Hightower, were sexually molested and cut with machetes and knives, according to a lawsuit recently filed against the city school system and the alleged killers.
And another graphic reminder:
The thugs who shot four college students in Newark reportedly preceded their sick attack by trying to sexually assault their two female victims.
The group of six assailants – who shot two men and a woman dead and wounded another woman – failed in their attempt at a sexual attack, and then decided to kill their victims, according to 1010 WINS radio.
Six suspects have now been charged in the Aug. 4 atrocity, in which the victims were blasted execution-style.
Yesterday, a family member of one of the slain victims, Iofemi Hightower, described the level of savagery of the attack. He said the thugs used a machete to hack their victims.
“They cut my niece’s face off,” said John McClain, who is Hightower’s great-uncle, and the chaplain of the Newark Police Department. “They cut her from cheek to cheek. They left her head hanging.”
McClain said the mortician told him he had to work for three days to put his grand-niece’s face back together.
“Most people couldn’t tell, when he was done, but the family could tell,” he said.
There is another lesson here, and it involves the importance of being able to defend yourself. What might have happened had those students been armed to defend themselves? Certainly, their fate would have been no worse, and they might be here today. Of course, I wonder what the gun laws are like in Newark? Oh yes, guns are “banned” in city parks, and schools, this attack took place at a schoolyard, and schools are ”gun free zones”. Yep, that gun control really did its job there.
Dear Mr. President, this is what leadeship looks like
Because, apparently, our president needs a lesson in how to stand up to a crisis, Michelle offers up Governor Jindal
Here is the Emergency.Louisiana.gov page with extensive updates and resources on the state’s emergency response to the crisis, dating back to April 22.
Via NECN:
Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) said the state will not waiting for federal approval to begin building sand barriers to protect the coastline from the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.
Oil has pushed at least 12 miles into Louisiana’s marshes, with two major pelican rookeries awash in crude.
Gov. Jindal was critical of the amount of boom his state received to ward off the oil seeping toward the coastline. But his major gripe comes at the expense of the Army Corps of Engineers, who have yet to give the go-ahead for the building of sand booms to protect the Louisiana wetlands. He used photographic evidence of oil breaking through hard booms, soft booms and another layer of protection, before being finally being corralled by a sand boom built by the National Guard.
“It is so much better for us. We don’t want oil on one inch of Louisiana’s coastline, but we’d much rather fight this oil off of a hard coast, off of an island, off of an island, off of a sandy beach on our coastal islands, rather than having to fight it inside in these wetlands,” Gov. Jindal said, making the case for sand booms.
The governor said he has been forced to protect Louisiana without the approval of the Army Corps of Engineers, which is weighing the ecological impact of the construction of more sand booms.
“We are not waiting for them. We are going to build it,” Jindal said.
There, you see Mr. President, it can be done, you can do it to, maybe a catchy slogan would help you out? Hmmm, how about this, just keep teling yourself “yes we can”. Yeah! I like that!
The Yankees again?
Stacy McCain reports the sighting of a Yankee in Atlanta. And we know what that kind of thing can lead to don’t we? Now the Yankee, or one of “those people” as General Lee called them, is a good guy, a fine blogger, his funny taste in hats notwithstanding. Da Tech Guy is OK with me, and he is doing some good work in Georgia.
Of course, the mention of Yankees running loose in and around Georgia brings Martin C. Mewburn, my Great-Great-Grandfather to mind. You see Martin was enlisted in Co. I 63rd Georgia regiment and fought Sherman’s Yankees at Kennesaw Mountain, where he reveived a minnie ball in his shoulder on June 27, 1864. The Yankees, by the way were whipped in that fight.
So, if Martin Mewburn is reading this blog in Heaven, I offer a salute to him. And to Da Tech Guy, keep up the good work, and just remember, don’t say Geneal Sherman too loud while in Georgia, I still have lots of family up there, and well, you know, they might get nervous at the mention of General Firestorm.
