I hope everyone of those misguided fools who think enforcing immigration laws and securing our borders are unimportant pay close attention. Because, when a dirty bomb that was smuggled into or country across our border goes off, they are as much in danger as anyone is.

In a recent Senate floor speech, Democratic Leader Harry Reid likened Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan to another woman who sat on the court, Sandra Day O’Connor.
“One of my favorite Supreme Court Justices in recent years has been Sandra Day O’Connor, not because she’s a Republican, but because she was a good judge. I think one reason she was a good judge is she had no judicial experience,” Reid said on May 11, 2010.
Ah, but Harry, Senator sir, ummm……
In 1975, O’Connor was elected a judge of the Maricopa County Superior Court, where she served until 1979, when she was appointed to the Arizona Court of Appeals, according to her biography on the U.S. Supreme Court Web site. In 1981, President Ronald Reagan nominated O’Connor to be an associate justice of the Supreme Court.
We asked Reid’s spokesman, Jim Manley, if we were missing something, and he wrote that Reid had simply misspoken.
Misspoken huh? Not quite, the fact is Reid, like many politicians, lives under the delusion that they can say whatever they want, and no one will ever fact check them.

Mary Sue points to a chilling new bill, that would, well, put you know who in charge of tracking how fat we are. Of course this is “for the children”
The BMI of children 12-18 seems to be the highest priority of Congress now that they have taken charge of health care. Perish the thought they might come up with a balanced budget or do something constructive for jobs. Tracking how fat little Susie got this year is now as important as tracking terorists:
A bill introduced this month in Congress would put the federal and state governments in the business of tracking how fat, or skinny, American children are.
States receiving federal grants provided for in the bill would be required to annually track the Body Mass Index of all children ages 2 through 18. The grant-receiving states would be required to mandate that all health care providers in the state determine the Body Mass Index of all their patients in the 2-to-18 age bracket and then report that information to the state government. The state government, in turn, would be required to report the information to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for analysis.
Of course the BMI index is questionable at best, as some pro athletes have been measured as fat by its standards. But, really this is not for thechildren, or for our own god, this is about CONTROL! What if a child is deemed obese? What is the next step? How far does this go? How much will the government intervene? How quickly will they trample parental rights? As I mentioned, the BMI index is likely not the best measure of health, but, then again, if the Left can push draconian measures for questionable science on climate change………

Bob Belevedere, and Stogie are having problems with Debbie Schlussel, who would run over her own dog if it meant some publicity. You can read all the goings on, and wonder what the Hell is wrong with Debbie Schlussel. I like Stogie’s comment that she is Charles Johnson in drag, but for me, it is simple, Schlussel is a bitter, angry, used to be that never really was anything to begin with. Just another phony, an empty suit, Tammy Faye Baker with worse make up advice.
Schlussel must be overly impressed with herself, and no, I am not going to post the “copyrighted” picture of her that has got her threatening bloggers with lawsuits over. US actors and liberal intellectuals joined a list to be published Friday of nearly 2,000 people accusing President Barack Obama of allowing human rights violations and war crimes. “Crimes are crimes, no matter who does them,” the statement reads over pictures of Obama and his predecessor George W. Bush due to appear in the New York Review of Books.
The statement, published as a paid advertisement, accuses Obama, who was elected in 2008 with the enthusiastic support of US liberals, of continuing Bush’s controversial approach to human rights in Iraq and Afghanistan, and in domestic security.
It takes aim especially at Obama’s decision — reported by US officials — to authorize the killing of a radical Islamic cleric and US citizen Anwar al-Awlaki, who is accused of ties to Al-Qaeda in Yemen.
“In some respects this is worse than Bush,” the statement says. “First, because Obama has claimed the right to assassinate American citizens whom he suspects of ‘terrorism,’ merely on the grounds of his own suspicion or that of the CIA, something Bush never claimed publicly.”
Among the signatories are linguist Noam Chomsky, “L.A. Confidential” actor James Cromwell, actor Mark Ruffalo and prominent Bush-era anti-war protestor Cindy Sheehan. By midday Thursday there were 1,804 signatures.
Like I said, a consistent Liberal is a rare find in deed. Their ideology is largely one of convenience, what they say Monday might change by Wednesday, depending on what party is in power and, of course the feelings of the Liberal, because it is all about feelings with them.
Why is this swine even allowed in America?
Donald Douglas has is covering UCI Muslim Student Union’s ‘Israeli Apartheid Week’ and has video of an open supporter of Hamas, terrorist scum, and Hezbollah, more terrorist scum, spewing his evil message. Douglas does a great job exposing the evil here, and his post is a must read. I cannot add much except to ask one simple question.
Why is a terrorist supporter allowed to be here? He is the ENEMY! He should never be allowed to enter America. Again, why is this piece of trash here? And I wonder about those students who support him, and by extension terrorism. Are they citizens? Here on visas? If they are here on visas, they ought to have those visas revoked frankly. Let them take their 7th century mentality back to their countries. We should never welcome our enemies here. NEVER!
Chris Christie speaks, but is the GOP leadership listening?
New Jersey governor Chris Christie spoke the truth, and put a snide reporter in his place yesterday, as Ed reported, But, I wonder if the honest, direct tone Christy used, which was absolutely perfect, is lost on too many Republicans.
Sadly, it seems that Republicans are still stuck on the idea that they must speak in spinese never being direct, or cutting straight to the point. When dealing with the media, Republican after Republican fails to do as Christie did, or as Fred Thompson does, or as many Conservative bloggers and writers do, they fail to cut through the BS. Rather than standing up, and delivering unvarnished, straight from the heart Conservative ideals, they get caught in weasel words mode. Fearful of being taken out of context, or appearing, God forbid, ”confrontational” they opt for a softer tone. In other words, they do exactly as Democrats want them to do.
Democrats have one fear when Republicans speak. That fear is that Republicans will speak from conviction. Democrats, and the media have a much harder time painting Republicans as racist, backwards, unfeeling, and out of touch when Republicans stop using weasel words and start speaking with resolve. sadly, in today’s spun, PR-driven, atmosphere, too many Republicans feel that “toning it down”, and being “bi-partisan” is the only way to survive in politics. The fear of saying the wrong thing is killing us frankly.
Now, I am not saying that every Republican ought to just shoot from the hip, and go into Joe Biden, foot in mouth mode. I am saying however, that Republicans do their best when they throw away the carefully scripted, don’t you dare offend anyone weasel words, and speak directly from Conservative ideals. In other words, stop trying to be touchy feely, it does not work for Republicans. Being honest, on the other hand does work. Stop assuming that the American people cannot understand you. Stop trying to talk down to them. We are smart folks, we can handle straight talk, and I mean genuine straight talk, not that watered down, mavericky McCain talk.
Face it, Democrats want us to talk in circles, because our message is not delivered when we do so. That does not mean we have to be nasty, or rude, or that we need to behave like James Carville or Paul Begala, or your average MSNBS host. No my friends, we have something on our side that Democrats do not. We have the truth. We have better principles, and ideals that stand on their own, without spin, or emotionalism.
Leave the weasel words to Democrats, and their advisors. Let the truth out, do not fear confrontation, welcome it. Confrontation IS the nature of what politicians do isn’t it? Aren’t they elected to fight for certain principles? And history shows that Republicans that stand for those principles, win elections. And here is one more piece of advice to Republicans. Do not wait until our backs are to the wall to stand up. Do it every time you speak, never back down, never put bipartisanship above your ideals. Follow Governor Christie’s example.
