How is Obamanomics like a Hoover upright?

Last year, while the Obama administration seized two of the nation’s three main domestic auto manufacturers, it also shut down thousands of dealerships across the country, supposedly to stabilize GM and Chrysler. A new report from Neil Barofsky, the Inspector General of the TARP program, calls into question that decision. In a sharp rebuke to the White House, Barofsky says that the action needlessly cost tens of thousands of jobs and extended an already-disastrous downturn in employment:
President Obama’s auto task force pressed General Motors and Chrysler to close scores of dealerships without adequately considering the jobs that would be lost or having a firm idea of the cost savings that would be achieved, an audit of the process has concluded.
The report by Neil M. Barofsky, the special inspector general for the Troubled Asset Relief Program of the Treasury Department, said both carmakers needed to shut down some underperforming dealerships. But it questioned whether the cuts should have been made so quickly, particularly during a recession. The report, released on Sunday, estimated that tens of thousands of jobs were lost as a result.
“It is not at all clear that the greatly accelerated pace of the dealership closings during one of the most severe economic downturns in our nation’s history was either necessary for the sake of the companies’ economic survival or prudent for the sake of the nation’s economic recovery,” the report said.

This doesn’t come as any great shock. Barack Obama put Steve Rattner in charge of running his auto bailout program, a man who had just as much experience in the auto industry as Obama did: he drove a few cars. Rattner had to make a quick exit after just a few months when it became known that he was the target of a federal probe into questionable activities regarding the New York pension fund — and his replacement had just as much experience in the auto industry as Rattner did.
I suppose Ed and I will be called raaaacist now, for pointing to further evidence that Obama is, an empty suit.

(Daily Mail) — Blind passengers are being ordered off buses or refused taxi rides because Muslim drivers or passengers object to their ‘unclean’ guide dogs.
One pensioner, a cancer sufferer, told how had twice been confronted by drivers and asked to get off the bus because of his guide dog, and had also faced hostility at a hospital and in a supermarket over the animal.
The problem to carry guide dogs on religious grounds has become so widespread that the matter was raised in the House of Lords last week, prompting transport minister Norman Baker to warn that a religious objection was not a reason to eject a passenger with a well-behaved guide dog.
While drivers can use their discretion to refuse to carry non-disabled passengers with dogs, they are compelled to accept guide dogs under disability discrimination law.
Yesterday both the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association and the National Federation of the Blind confirmed the problem was common, and, according to the latter organisation was ‘getting worse’.
The tension stems from a strand of Islamic teaching which warns against contact with dogs because the animal’s saliva was considered to be impure, the Muslim Council of Britain said.
It urged Muslims to show tolerance and common sense over the issue.
‘We need to be flexible on this,’ a spokesman said. ‘Muslim drivers should have no hesitation in allowing guide dogs into their bus or car.
‘If a dog does lick you, it’s not the end of the world. Just go home and wash yourself.’
George Herridge, 73, a retired hospital maintenance manager, told the Daily Mail he was ’stunned’ to be twice asked by bus drivers to leave their vehicles because of his guide dog Andy, a black Labrador.
Mr Herridge, who lives with wife Janet, 69, in Tilehurst, Reading, said that on the first occasion two years ago, he got off at the request of a Muslim driver because some Muslim children on board were ’screaming’ because of the dog.
Here is the deal, for all religions, you have to accept that no one else has to bend over backwards to accommodate YOUR faith and its rules. If a Muslim were to ask nicely that I not allow my dog to play with their kids, fine, no problem. But if they demand that I leave a public place, or a bus so as not to offend them? Hell no! Deal with it! Sometimes you get offended, it happens to us all, get over it! If your religion is so strict and rigid, then examine your faith, because the problem is with it, not everyone else. And BTW, I have said the VERY SAME thing to some Christians who were aghast that my city might legalize beer sales.
I wonder if the NAACP will condmen this?

White House Linked To Fraudulent Racist Tea Party Video – First Things
Bob Owens at Big Government reported yesterday that the far left Think Progress blog was using liberal-manufactured signs from Crash the Tea Party as evidence of tea party racism.
Do you remember the abortive “Crash the Tea Party” movement? It was the brainchild of a liberal that explicitly called for progressives to commit fraud in order to attempt to discredit the Tea Party protests.
At Pajamas Media we covered the abortive effort extensively, and made note of the very real bigotry the Crashers unwittingly revealed… in themselves.
This morning, I came across this video from Think Progress:
…Think Progress stitches together a series of posters they claim belong to Tea Party protesters. Really, Think Progress?
Did you not think we’d remember the amusing signs your fellow liberals created for their little abortive “Crash the Tea Party” stunt in Boston? Let’s just say that some were more amusing than others, and some just showed pathetic and angry progressives often are.
There is an old saying that you’re entitled to your own opinions, but not your own facts.
Right Klik points out that basically every scene in the Think Progress video was manufactured. The liberal blog even included video footage from 2006 – before there even was a tea party!
So why would a leftist website put out such an obviously doctored video in order to smear the tea party movement?
The Center for American Progress(CAP) is a George Soros-funded initiative. It was founded by former Clinton chief of staff John Podesta. Think Progress is one of the CAP’s blogs that “provides a forum that advances progressive ideas and policies.”
According to Discover the Networks, after Barack Obama was elected President in 2008, CAP served as perhaps the most influential organization advising the new administration. Among Obama s leading advisers were John Podesta and at least ten additional CAP experts.
Last week the NAACP announced that they would pass a resolution that calls upon “all people of good will to repudiate the racism of the Tea Parties, and to stand in opposition to its drive to push our country back to the pre-civil rights era.” Two days later Think Progress released its fraudulent “racist” tea party video.
It makes you think that these radical leftist groups might be coordinating their attacks on the tea party patriots… possibly from the White House. Now, wouldn’t that be shocking? No.

Leftist Lawyer/Terrorist Conspirator Lynne Stewart Receives New10-Year Sentence – NY1
A lawyer convicted in a terrorism case in 2005 was resentenced Thursday to 10 years and one month behind bars. Lynne Stewart, 70, was convicted of helping a terrorist communicate with his followers.
Her client, Sheik Omar Abdel Rahman, plotted to blow up city landmarks. Stewart was originally sentenced to 28 months, but a federal appeals court asked the judge to review the role of terrorism in her case.

Bachmann Founds And Chairs New House Tea Party Caucus – Minnesota Independent
Rep. Michele Bachmann filed paperwork on Thursday to create the House Tea Party Caucus, formalizing the movement within the federal government. The caucus will “promote American’s call for fiscal responsibility, adherence to the Constitution, and limited government.”
The caucus joins numerous others in the House including the Black Caucus, the Liberty Caucus and the LGBT Equality Caucus, for example.

BP Oil Cap May Have Spill Under Control – The Guardian
BP held out hope today that it had finally brought America’s worst oil spill under control, when a senior executive expressed optimism about a new cap that has stopped oil gushing from a deepwater well.

Oh, my God! It’s not that Matthews is a devious race-baiter when he calls conservatives and Republicans raaaaacist, it’s that he is “stupider” than a box of rocks! He really believes that conservatives oppose Obama because they are racists when in fact it is because they oppose Obama because he is a progressive, anti-American thug from Chicago who has been elevated well beyond his level of competence solely because he is black.
