FBI Weblinks Promote Ayers, Peltier – WorldNetDaily
The website for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, which is assigned to protect the United States and enforce its laws, links to sites that laud the work of unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers and promote freedom for convicted agent-killer Leonard Peltier.
The issue was highlighted by researcher and writer Phil Kent, who heads a communications company in a lengthy career that includes a stint as a press secretary to a U.S. senator, years of writing for the Augusta, Ga., Chronicle, the presidency of the American Research Foundation and serving as spokesman for Americans for Immigration Control.
His report was documented by WND, which confirmed that the FBI website page discussing hate crimes lists as a “resource” the Southern Poverty Law Center, a radically liberal organization that according to its own site “is dedicated to fighting hate and bigotry… using litigation, education and other forms of advocacy.”
A project of the SPLC, its “Tolerance” website, features a laudatory profile of Ayers from 1998 titled “An Unconditional Embrace.”
The website calls Ayers “a civil rights organizer, radical anti-Vietnam War activist, teacher and author.” Ayers was responsible for bombings of the New York City police headquarters in 1970, the U.S. Capitol in 1971 and the Pentagon in 1972 and later was quoted as saying he didn’t think he did enough.

The profile tells how Ayers co-founded the Small Schools Workshop to reform education systems “by restructuring large, factory-model schools into teacher-directed, intimate learning environments” and how he “helps aspiring teachers recognize and tap the potential of every child.”
As WND reported, the Workshop was founded by Mike Klonsky, who served with Ayers and Ayers’ wife, former Weathermen terrorist Bernardine Dohrn, in the Students for a Democratic Society group, a major leftist student organization in the 1960s that later splintered, withAyers and Dohrn leading a more activist approach with the Weathermen. Klonsky reportedly favored less aggressive tactics, promoting the philosophy that young workers possessed the potential to be a revolutionary force to overthrow capitalism.

U.S. Home Seizures Rise 38% To Record As Banks Process Backlog – Businessweek
A record 269,962 U.S. homes were seized from delinquent owners in the second quarter as lenders set a pace to claim more than 1 million properties by the end of 2010, according to RealtyTrac Inc.
Home seizures climbed 38 percent from a year earlier and 5 percent from the first quarter, the Irvine, California-based data company said today in a statement. More than 1.65M properties received a foreclosure filing.

Most Americans oppose President Barack Obama’s ban on deepwater oil drilling in response to BP’s Gulf of Mexico spill, even as they hold the company primarily responsible for the incident.
Almost three-fourths, or 73 percent, say a ban is unnecessary, calling the BP spill a “freak accident,” according to a Bloomberg poll. Barely more than a third say they support drilling less than they did a few months ago.

U.S. Government Spent $181,406 To Study How Cocaine Enhances Sex Drive Of Japanese Quail – CNS
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has awarded $181,406 this year to a researcher at the University of Kentucky to study how cocaine enhances the sex drive of Japanese quail.

Sailboat Crew Blocks, Moons Ferry – UPI
Police said a Washington state ferry had to take evasive maneuvers to avoid a sailboat containing four men who showed their backsides to the vessel’s crew.
Bainbridge Island Police said the ferry sounded its emergency horn several times to try to get the sailboat to move out of its path, but the captain was eventually forced to reverse engines just prior to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Cops: Woman Made Up Carjacking To Cover Up Sex – CBS News
Police say a New Jersey woman said her vehicle was carjacked to cover up a crash because she was having sex. Twenty-three-year-old Sara Blasse initially told police she got lost while driving in Chesilhurst on Sunday and asked a man for directions.
Police say the 5-foot-4, 300-pound woman said the man pulled her out of the car at gunpoint and threw her to the ground.

American Man Designs Toilet Car – Orange News
A family in Colorado will never again have to worry about toilet breaks on the road after designing a twin-bowl toilet car. It took four years and three prototypes for Dave Hersch to perfect his design.
It features a 6.5hp motor capable of driving two adults at 30mph and holds six toilet rolls and a magazine rack. “The first version was literally a toilet on top of a go cart,” Dave said.

Following the release of the 2,000-page Dodd-Frank financial regulation bill last Friday, fixed-income portfolio manager Christine McConnell told Businessweek: “Clarity is good. [Once financial institutions] understand the rules of the road they’ll be able to accommodate their business models.” There is only one problem: passage of the Dodd-Frank bill doesn’t provide any clarity. In fact, it does the exact opposite. The New York Times explains: “The bill, completed early Friday and expected to come up for a final vote this week, is basically a 2,000-page missive to federal agencies, instructing regulators to address subjects ranging from derivatives trading to document retention. But it is notably short on specifics, giving regulators significant power to determine its impact.”
In other words, this law is going to be continually rewritten by federal bureaucrats for years to come…
This much is clear: The law enshrines permanent bailouts, saves Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac’s hides forever, and would impose at least $20 billion in new tax hikes over the next decade.
Want an ugly look at how this bill was “legislated?” Via Brian Faughnan:
Early on Friday morning, a House-Senate conference committee finished work on a consensus version of HR 4173, the Dodd-Frank financial overhaul bill. The conference committee worked for 20 hours to draft this new bill, and completed the work shortly after 5:00AM.
When Congress meets in the dead of night to decide critical issues, it prompts serious questions about the quality of their work. Were important issues debated thoroughly? Were all Representatives and Senators part of the debate? Did all of them consider their votes carefully?
Not surprisingly, the answer is ‘no.’ On Thursday night, the conference committee debated the ‘Volcker Rule,’ restricting the power of banks to engage in trading. Some feel the rule is necessary, others feel it will kill jobs, and give foreign financial institutions an advantage over American banks. Not only was the debate on the Volcker Rule limited, but an amendment dealing with it was defeated on a vote of 6-10 – with Chairman Barney Frank casting 6 of the ‘no’ votes himself.
Just like ObamaCare no one has had a chance to read this no one knows what the Hell it will do, yet, the Democrats, with some RINO help, are close to screwing the people again!

No wonder the NAACP is silent on the New Black Panthers
It seems they are fairly friendly with the Panthers.
Their points are even more valid, though, because of a direct, rather than just analagous, tie between the NAACP and the Panther case. It was first reported here at the Washington Times that “Kristen Clarke, director of political participation at the NAACP Legal Defense Fund in Washington, however, confirmed to The Times that she talked about the case with lawyers at the Justice Department and shared copies of the complaint with several persons. She said, however, her organization was ‘not involved in the decision to dismiss the civil complaint.’”
Ms. Clarke testified to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights a few months back that that account was wrong. But J. Christian Adams, the main lawyer who built the case against the Black Panthers, contradicted her when he testified to the commission on July 6. Here is the exchange between Mr. Adams and commission general counsel David Blackwood:
Read the whole thing. This does not surprise me in the least. The NAACP’s leadeship has tilted farther and farther to the left as time has gone by. And I am glad more and more Black Americans have started to condemn the NACCP, as I did yesterday.
If the NAACP’s membership really wants to save their organization, they should adopt the Tea Party mantra of “Throw the Bums Out!” And throw their current leadership out!

The Ike Brown Case: Is The DOJ About To Fail Another Race-Based Test? – J. Christian Adams
Coming soon: an unavoidable decision about race-neutral enforcement of voting laws.
Last week, I testified under oath that pervasive and open hostility exists within the Justice Department towards race-neutral enforcement of voting rights laws. This week, we will all learn a great deal more about the Justice Department’s unwillingness to enforce voting laws equally and in a racially fair way.
To the many who know firsthand of the existence of this hostility, the Department’s current denials seem absurd, if not deceitful. I have urged the advocates of these positions – of which there are many inside and outside the DOJ – to come forward and openly engage in this debate so millions of Americans can hear their arguments for why all Americans should not be protected under the Voting Rights Act by the Justice Department. So far, silence. Even the NAACP registered a “no comment” to a Philadelphia Inquirer columnist last week. We know what that usually means.
But this week we should get some clarity. And I’ll wager that Americans aren’t going to like what they hear.
This story hails from rural east Mississippi: majority black Noxubee County is home to Ike Brown, one of the most lawless purveyors of racial discrimination the nation has seen in decades. (I have written in greater detail about the racially motivated lawlessness Brown used to victimize minority white voters in the county.)
Brown canceled ballots cast by white voters. He stuffed the ballot box with illegal ballots supporting his preferred black candidates. He deployed teams of notaries to roam the countryside and mark absentee ballots instead of voters. He allowed forced assistance in the voting booth, to the detriment of white voters. He threatened 174 white voters by declaring that if they tried to participate in an election, he might challenge them and not let them vote. He publicized the 174 names.
Brown ran the primary elections because he is the Democratic Party chairman. At the trial, a woman on Brown’s list testified that she was too afraid to vote because she thought she might be arrested.
The federal court found that the publication of the list of 174 names was an illegal form of intentional racial discrimination. The United States district court held:
The question is whether Brown’s action with respect to this list of 174 voters was actuated by these party loyalty concerns or whether this was pretext for a true purpose to discourage white voters from coming to the polls, or some combination of the two. The court has carefully weighed the evidence and finds that while party concerns were a factor in Brown’s actions, race played a role as well… In sum, the court is of the opinion that Brown had the names of these white voters published in part because of party loyalty concerns, but also as an attempt to discourage white voters from voting in the 2003 Democratic primary.
Brown’s overall behavior was so outrageous that the court stripped him of all authority to run elections until 2012, and gave the power to a former justice of the Mississippi Supreme Court as a special administrator. The remedy was unprecedented, but upheld on appeal because of the brazen lawlessness of Ike Brown.

74% Of Americans Either Support AZ Immigration Law Or Don’t Think It Goes Far Enough – First Things
Public support for Arizona’s new immigration law has increased slightly, a new CBS News poll shows, with 57 percent of Americans characterizing the law as “about right”.
Another 17 percent of Americans said it doesn’t go far enough, while twenty-three percent think the law goes too far. That’s down five points from the 28 percent who said in May that the measure goes too far.

NASA Muslim Outreach Program Confirmed Despite White House Denial – Fox News
President Obama is disavowing a plan to have NASA conduct outreach to Muslim countries, but a congressman who talked to NASA Administrator Charles Bolden about that plan last month said the initiative was very real until somebody slammed the brakes on it.
Rep. Pete Olson said that Bolden described the outreach program as part of the administration’s space plan during a conversation in June.

26 Killed, 38 Missing As Typhoon Hits Philippines – Washington Times
The first typhoon to lash the Philippines this year flooded parts of the capital, toppled power lines and killed at least 26 people Wednesday, many of them trying to scramble to safety.
Thirty-eight people were missing, mostly fishermen who were caught by the storm’s fury at sea. More than half of the main northern island of Luzon, which includes Manila, was without electricity.

it’s the Tea Party that the NAACP are about to condemn:
The National Association for the Advancement of Colored Casuists [Edited for clarity*] People will vote as early as Tuesday on whether to adopt a resolution condemning the tea party as “racist.”
The Kansas City Star first reported that the organization is weighing a resolution calling on “all people of good will to repudiate the racism of the Tea Parties” at its annual ongoing conference in Kansas City.
The resolution charges that the tea party has engaged in “explicitly racist behavior” and demands that supporters of the NAACP “stand in opposition to [the tea party's] drive to push our country back to the pre-civil rights era.”
Additionally, the tea party is accused of having verbally and physically abused black members of Congress and having used racial epithets in their opposition to President Barack Obama’s agenda.
A spokesman for the nationwide Tea Party Express did not return a request for comment.
The NAACP is nothing but a far-Left hate group frankly. They have no credibility, and no moral standing! They care nothing about helping anyone but themselves! And as far as fighting racism goes, they do more manufacturing of fake racism than fighting against real racism. They know where their bread is buttered, and it is with race baiting!

Let’s also lay a few facts out: I am a white male of European descent. I am the patriarch of a mixed-race family, one I am deeply proud of. Our multi-ethnic children are God’s greatest gift; individually and collectively some of the finest men and women I’ve ever known. This family is racially aware, and has seen racism first hand – but there is not a racist bone in their, nor my, body. There is no factual assertion to dispute this.

300 Arrests In Organized Crime Sweep In Italy – New York Times
Italian police launched one of their biggest operations ever against the powerful ‘ndrangheta crime syndicate on Tuesday, arresting 300 people including top bosses and seizing millions worth of property in pre-dawn raids.
The man believed to be the ‘ndrangheta’s top boss, Domenico Oppedisano, was picked up in Rosarno, a small coastal town in Calabria, the southern region where the organization is based, police said.
The largest police operation took place in the Milan region of Lombardy, where 160 people were reportedly arrested. They included Pino Neri, whom police said was in charge of the gang’s businesses in Milan, where the ‘ndrangheta (en-DRAN-geh-tah) has been making major inroads.
Also arrested were Lombardy businessmen and the director of state medical services in the city of Pavia.
Investigators described the operation as one of the biggest blows ever to an organization that is now considered to be more powerful than the Sicilian Mafia. The raids involved 3,000 police across the country and the charges against those arrested ranged from murder and extortion to arms and drug trafficking and criminal association.
Interior Minister Roberto Maroni said the sweep struck at the heart of the ‘ndrangheta’s organization and finances.
Applause reportedly broke out in the Italian Senate upon hearing the news.
The sweep dismantled some of the most powerful families in the organization, Italian news agencies said. It also shed light on the ‘ndrangheta’s power hierarchy, exposing a more centralized and pyramid-like organization than previously thought.
Anti-mafia prosecutors say Milan has become the economic center for the organization, which migrated to the north in the 1970s and 1980s. Nearly all of the mafia clans are present in Lombardy.
Oppedisano received his nomination as top boss during the wedding of the children of two local bosses in 2009, according to the ANSA news agency. Neri, the alleged Milan boss, was promoted during a dinner with local bosses, it reported.
The last big operation against the Calabrian mob dates to the 1990s. Since then – mainly through its grip on drug trafficking – the ‘ndrangheta has expanded its power, not only in Italy but in such countries as Germany and as far away as Australia.
