Code Pink, a lesson in hatefulness and moral retardation
Code Pink campaigns, or at least it claims to, for “social justice” and “peace”, but, like many Leftist groups, is really just a bunch of Marxists who loathe America,and our military. Big Peace brings us this tale of tolerance from Code Pink
We’ve all seen the nightly news with them being arrested time and time again throwing their leftist temper tantrums with their pink boa feathers wrapped around their necks as they kick and scream like a two-year-old throwing a tantrum to get attention. They have sent over $600,000.00 to the terrorists in Fallujah, or as they called them, “freedom fighting” heroes. You would think treasonous acts like this would have them locked in jail. Over and over they have attacked our military recruiting offices causing thousands of dollars of damage to the offices and threatening the recruiters. In 2008 they barricaded the recruiting office in Berkeley with the blessing of the Berkeley City Council. We at Move America Forward had all we could stomach when we heard them tell the Marines they were unwelcome, unwanted intruders, not in Iraq or Afghanistan but on American soil in Berkeley, California. Americans from across the nation joined us in Berkeley to counter-protest these anti-war hippies. Numerous times they told me they support the troops but not the war, yet over and over when I asked if they had sent care packages, phone cards, written letters, or helped the families left behind in anyway, they conveniently couldn’t remember anything they had done. Yet they had a successful fundraiser to send $600,000.00 to our enemies in Iraq? Yet Jodie Evans and her Code Pink degenerates taunted me and made light of my son’s sacrifice telling me, “Your son deserved to die in Iraq if he was stupid enough to go over there.” It took every ounce of reserve in my body to not level these idiots to the ground. These same people who call terrorists “freedom fighters” says that my son, who gave up his life for their freedoms, deserved death.
There is no tolerance, or sensitivity there, none at all. There is nothing but unbridled hatred and moral retardation. Code PInk loathes America, which has real freedom, and loves nations that brutalize their own people. Social Justice is nothing more than code for Communism. Never forget how evil Communism is, and never forget how evil the members of Code Pink are.

That Code Pink is a despicable, loathsome, group is not really up for debate. What should be discussed is how they have been empowered, enabled, assisted, and embraced by the Democratic Party on numerous occasions.

Morning, I wasn’t wanting to make my introduction here under the heading of “Useful Idiots” but why not jump in with both feet?
I blog here usually At The Point Of A Gun. If you ask, the name was inspired from the book, Atlas Shrugs.
Via Ace of Spades. He linked to this radio documentary about “Useful Idiots” about a week back but it’s worth checking out. It’s downloadable in two parts (Part I and Part II, both about twenty minutes long). Put them on a iPod and listen to them on the way into work. And tell people you’re listening to the BBC. It helps to make you sound classy and know more than they do (Not to mention giving you one up over those NPR listening snobs).
Listening about the death camps in Part I wasn’t shocking. What was shocking was how many people liked and approved of them. They were happy that some undesirables ‘Went away’. Stalin had the ability to take the brilliant piece ’Shut Up’ by Andrew Klavan to a very extreme level.
In trying to make the perfect system on Earth, utopia’s always end with death camps.
If you think that a perfect society isn’t what the modern Democrat Party is looking for, then listen to what Alan Grayson says here. If this doesn’t chill you to the bone, I’m not sure what would.
Newt Gingrich shows his true nature again
I am not a real big fan of Newt, for many reasons, in fact too many to list here, but suffice it to say that it is crap like this that has led to my distaste for Newt! RS McCain says that Newt is toast!

[A] spokesman for Gingrich, a possible 2012 presidential candidate, told The Hill that the former leader of the House had never confirmed his appearance. Instead, one of Gingrich’s staff had agreed to send a video message from him to be shown at the Sept. 11 rally.
That has since been canceled. . . .
[The spokesman] did not comment on why Gingrich was no longer planning to send a video message to the rally . . .Two words: Testicular atrophy.
In the space of five days, Gingrich has gone from comparing the mosque to a Nazi sign at the Holocaust Museum to quitting a protest against it.

Now Democrats Want Another $34 Billion To Bailout Teamsters Pension – First Things
When will Obama’s gifts to unions (at the expense of the taxpayers) ever end? On the heels of a $26.1 billion teacher union bailout, now Democrats are attempting to get Congress to give $34 billion of the taxpayer’s money to the Teamsters because that union has mishandled its pension funds.
Senator Robert Casey (D., Pa.) and Rep. Earl Pomeroy (D., N.D.) are now pushing the bill that will bailout the Teamsters pension fund by altering the U.S. Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp. which currently charges insurance rates to the funds it helps to solvency. Under new rules the help the PBGC offers troubled pension funds will now just end up coming out of federal funds.
As Kevin D. Williamson of National Review informs us, as the PBGC law stands now the obligations that PBGC takes on to help “orphan pensions” are not obligations of the U.S. government. “Casey-Pomeroy would reverse that,”
Williamson tells us, “mandating that ‘obligations of the corporation that are financed by the [fifth fund] shall be obligations of the United States.’” Yep, another gigantic bailout.
This new plan will make it easier to take further steps to directly begin bailing out both private unions and public employees unions which, combined, are trillions in the red.
And that is the truly worrisome part: Casey’s bill would allow for the transfer of money from the “fifth fund” to other PBGC funds. In other words, we could end up paying for the whole thing. “It takes a couple of leaps,” Vernuccio says, “but, long term, you can see this being a backdoor bailout of PBGC.”
There is no statutory limit on the amount of taxpayer money that could be committed to bailing out union pensions under the Casey bill. Taxpayers already have an unlimited commitment to bailing out Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac – do we really want to offer a bottomless well of public money to the Teamsters, too?
This is all of a piece with Obama’s constant payoffs to unions. Not only has the president been at the fore of handing unions billions in bailout money, he has also been a leading advocate for rolling back rules that were passed in order to bring transparency to union finances.

Van Gogh Painting Stolen From Cairo Museum – Monsters & Critics
One of Vincent Van Gogh’s most famous paintings, Poppy Flowers, has been stolen from a museum in Cairo, Egypt’s Ministry of Culture said on Saturday.
In was not immediately clear how the thieves managed to steal the painting from the Mahmoud Khalil museum, but Culture Minister Hosni ordered urgent measures to prevent it being taken out of the country.

Japan’s search for its centenarians has led to the discovery of the remains of a woman who was thought to be 104 stuffed into her son’s backpack for nearly a decade.

NV Judge Orders Drug Offender To Write A Paper On Pot – Seattle Post-Intelligencer
A Nevada judge has an unusual sentence for a 25-year-old Sacramento man who sold marijuana to a police informant in a casino parking lot at Lake Tahoe.
District Court Judge Dave Gamble ordered Matthew Palazzolo to write a report on what the judge called the “nonsensical character” of California’s medical marijuana law. Gamble gave Palazzolo 90 days to complete the paper.

Driver Fined $100 In VA For Having Goat In Trunk – Real Clear Politics
A driver has been convicted of animal cruelty and fined $100 after Virginia authorities found a goat stuffed in the trunk of her car. Bedford County sheriff’s deputies discovered the goat bound and in the trunk during a drunken driving checkpoint in June.
Fiona Ann Enderby of Washington, D.C., told police she bought the goat from a farmer to give to four passengers in her car.

Opposition to the center by prominent politicians and other public figures in the United States has been covered extensively by the news media in Muslim countries. At a time of concern about radicalization of young Muslims in the West, it risks adding new fuel to Al Qaeda’s claim that Islam is under attack by the West and must be defended with violence, some specialists on Islamic militancy say.
“I know people in this debate don’t intend it, but there are consequences for these kinds of remarks,” said Brian Fishman, who studies terrorism for the New America Foundation here.
He said that Anwar al-Awlaki, an American-born cleric hiding in Yemen who has been linked to several terrorist plots, has been arguing for months in Web speeches and in a new Qaeda magazine that American Muslims face a dark future of ever-worsening discrimination and vilification.
“When the rhetoric is so inflammatory that it serves the interests of a jihadi recruiter like Awlaki, politicians need to be called on it,” Mr. Fishman said.
Go read all of Douglas’s post, pay close attention to exactly who the Times considers “moderates” in the Muslim community. It seems that the Times, and their Leftist ilk, are so in need of their daily f ix of “tolerance”, that they refuse to do what the Times is supposed to do, and that is INVESTIGATE and REPORT on who is behind this mosque!

The 24-year-old Rima Fakih, is the first Muslim winner of the Miss USA contest and is preparing for the Miss Universe Pageant, scheduled for Monday in Las Vegas.
“I totally agree with President Obama with the statement on Constitutional rights of freedom of religion,” Fakih told “Inside Edition” in an interview that will air tonight.
“I also agree that it shouldn’t be so close to the World Trade Center. We should be more concerned with the tragedy than religion.”

Congress Failed To Fund Detention Space For Illegals From Terror-Sponsoring Countries – CNS
Even as Congress increased overall federal spending from a then-record $2.6 trillion in fiscal 2006 to $3.6 trillion in fiscal 2010, it only appropriated enough funds for the Department of Homeland Security to provide a fraction of the additional 40,000 detention spaces for illegal aliens that had been authorized by an immigration law approved in 2004.
Because it lacked adequate detention space, DHS says it was forced over the last three years to release hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens it had caught and were being processed for deportation. Among these, as CNSNews.com recently reported, were 481 illegal aliens from state sponsors of terror and other “countries of interest” that DHS caught and released in fiscal years 2007-2009 and who are now fugitives whose wherabouts is unknown.
These 481 caught-and-released fugitive illegal aliens from terror sponsors and “countries of interest” include 97 citizens of Nigeria, the country from which Northwest Flight 253 hijacker Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab hailed. They also include 8 citizens of Yemen, the country where Abdulmutallab was recruited by al Qaeda, as well as 87 Pakistanis, 34 Lebanese, 29 Iranians, 22 Somalians, 14 Sudanese, 13 Syrians, 8 Algerians, 4 Afghans, and 2 Saudia Arabians.
Syria, Iran and Sudan (along with Cuba) are designated by the U.S. State Department as sponsors of terrorism. Nationals of the other countries were singled out by DHS for enhanced security scrutiny when boarding U.S.-bound flights after the attempted Christmas Day bombing of Northwest Flight 253.
Yet in recent years when nationals of these countries were found to be illegally in the United States, they were not automatically detained while undergoing the deportation process – allowing some of them to become fugitives.
Congress has been uncharacteristically frugal in funding detention spaces for illegal aliens despite a 2004 law that specifically authorized and directed DHS to increase the number of detention beds by 8,000 per year – for a total of 40,000 – in the fiscal years from 2006 to 2010. Had the 2004 authorization been followed up with the necessary annual appropriations, it would have increased the number of detention beds available for illegal aliens from roughly 20,000 to 60,000.
Congress, however, did not make all the necessary appropriations.
In 2006, Congress did provide a special appropriation of $3 billion to DHS to enhance border security. This included a provision for increasing the detention beds to 45,000, but those beds were not added. Currently, there are only 33,400 beds available for detaining illegal aliens – and some critics charge not all of those are being used.
As reported earlier by CNSNews.com, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), a division of DHS, cited the lack of bed space as the reason it released the 481 illegal aliens in fiscal years 2007-09 from state sponsors of terroris and countries of interest who went on to become fugitives. CNSNews.com was able to determine that these aliens became fugitives by filing a Freedom of Information Act request for DHS data on aliens apprehended by DHS in fiscal years 2007-2009.

Roadside Crosses For Fallen Utah Police Unconstitutional, Court Rules – Daily Caller
A federal appeals court on Wednesday ruled that roadside crosses erected to memorialize fallen Utah Highway Patrol officers violate the prohibition of government endorsement of religion.
The Denver-based 10th US Circuit Court of Appeals said that the 12-foot-high crosses bearing the name and badge number of deceased officers sent an unconstitutional religious message to motorists.

58 Pilot Whales Die In New Zealand Beach Stranding – NewsMeat
Fifty-eight pilot whales died after they washed onto an isolated beach in northern New Zealand and rescue volunteers’ initial efforts to refloat 15 others that survived failed Friday.

Last U.S. Combat Brigade Leaves Iraq Amid Plan To Double Civilian Security Force – Fox News
While the last brigade of American combat troops began to leave Iraq Thursday, the Obama administration planned to more than double the number of private security guards it has in the country to fill the void.
About 50,000 noncombat U.S. troops are expected to remain to advise and assist Iraqi forces. The combat forces’ exit comes ahead of the Aug. 31 deadline set by President Obama.
When the last U.S. troops leave at the end of 2011, the Obama administration plans to more than double the number of private security guards it has in Iraq – up to 7,000 – The New York Times reported Wednesday, citing unnamed administration officials.
The State Department move is aimed at protecting civilians still exposed to Al Qaeda-linked insurgents and Iranian-backed militias.
Contractors employed by the State Department will train the Iraqi police and U.S. diplomats in two new $100 million outposts will be left to defuse sectarian tensions in northern Iraq.
The security contractors, defending five fortified compounds around the country, will operate radars to warn of enemy rocket attacks, search for roadside bombs, fly reconnaissance drones and staff quick reaction forces to help civilians in distress, the officials told the Times.
As the exit of combat troops was shown live on TV in the U.S. Wednesday, U.S. State Department spokesman Philip Crowley described the end of combat operations as a “historic moment,” but vowed that America’s long-term commitment was unwavering.
Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman said combat operations will officially end Aug. 31, and on that date the mission will change from Operation Iraqi Freedom, to Operation New Dawn.
The troops of the 4th Stryker Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, after passing into Kuwait, will then return to the United States over the next few days.
As the 4th Stryker Brigade’s convoy reached the barbed wire at the border crossing out of Iraq on Wednesday, the soldiers whooped and cheered. Then they scrambled out of their stifling hot armored vehicles, unfurled an American flag and posed for group photos.

Employers appear to be laying off workers again as the economic recovery weakens. The number of people applying for unemployment benefits reached the half-million mark last week.

Northern California Home Sales Drop 23 Percent In July – NewsMeat
Home sales in the San Francisco Bay Area plummeted 22.8 percent last month from the previous year to reach their lowest level in 15 years, a tracking firm reported Thursday.
San Diego-based MDA DataQuick said the drop from 8,771 homes in July 2009 to 6,773 homes last month came as the market adjusted to the end of federal tax credits for first-time buyers.

Manholes Explode For 3 Days In N.J. City – First Coast News
Officials believe electrical shorts might be causing manhole explosions in New Jersey. Manhole covers in Atlantic City blew in the air for the third straight day Tuesday.
No one has been injured. Firefighters say the 5 manholes that have exploded contained electrical equipment. Fire Chief Dennis Brooks tells The Press of Atlantic City he saw a 200-pound cover shoot 10 feet in the air.

BBC Weatherman Gives The Finger On Air – Newslite
BBC weatherman Tomasz Schafernaker has been caught out giving the finger to a fellow BBC news host… on live TV.
Schafernaker had been preparing for his bit on BBC News at 10.54 this morning, when host Simon McCoy joked that his “Of course 100% accurate” weather forecast would be on shortly. But apparently taking offence to the comment Schafernaker stuck his middle finger up.

Republican Allen West is the Tea Party candidate for House in Florida’s 22nd district, a seat currently held by Rep. Ron Klein (D). West is an extremely successful fundraiser — he raked in the most money of any GOP challenger in the second fundraising quarter of 2010 — and has become a favorite among conservatives, earning the endorsement of Sarah Palin and receiving over two million hits on YouTube for a speech he delivered to a Florida Tea Party gathering.
Last week, video surfaced of West making a series of inflammatory statements about Islam during a March 8 pubic forum. He began by criticizing the ubiquitous “Coexist” bumper stickers, which display the symbols of Christianity, Judaism, Islam and other religions. West said:
“[A]s I was driving up here today, I saw that bumper sticker that absolutely incenses me. It’s not the Obama bumper sticker. But it’s the bumper sticker that says, ‘Co-exist.’ And it has all the little religious symbols on it. And the reason why I get upset, and every time I see one of those bumper stickers, I look at the person inside that is driving. Because that person represents something that would give away our country. Would give away who we are, our rights and freedoms and liberties because they are afraid to stand up and confront that which is the antithesis, anathema of who we are. The liberties that we want to enjoy.”
I don’t see a problem with West’s remarks on the ‘Co-exist’ bumper sticker. Islam isn’t compatible with the freedoms that we hold dear. Does the ‘co-exist’ crowd believe that Muslim taxi drivers have the right to refuse rides to disabled people with service dogs? And if so, do they equally support ER nurses who refuse to participate in abortions because of their religious convictions or do they sniff that the nurses should find another profession while insisting that the religious beliefs of the taxi drivers should be respected? What is the ‘co-exist’ position on gay marriage? Do they think that Christians who believe that marriage is between a man and a woman are homophobic bigots while ignoring that homosexuality is punishable by death under Islam?
coexistence is only possible if all sides respect each other’s beliefs. I don’t respect a religion that calls for the mutilation of little girls, honor killing or stoning. None of those things is compatible with American ideals of liberty or justice. The co-exist crowd believes in selective capitulation. That, as far as I am concerned, is moral cowardliness.

A ‘man of 21 with learning disabilities has been granted taxpayers’ money to fly to Amsterdam and have sex with a prostitute.
His social worker says sex is a ‘human right’ for the unnamed individual – described as a frustrated virgin.
His trip to a brothel in the Dutch capital’s red light district next month is being funded through a £520million scheme introduced by the last government to empower those with disabilities.
They are given a personal budget and can choose what services this is spent on.
The man’s social worker, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said his client was an ‘angry, frustrated and anxious young man’ who had a need for sex.
That sounds like a description of every teenage boy in the world to me. But, really now, how far is the Left going to take this “everything is a human right” nonsense. I mean, sure, this story is funny, because of the absurdity of it. But, being absurd is what the Left does best, and their absurdity has been costing all of us for decades now.
Where will it end? A human right to eat out every night? A human right to go to the movies? A human right to Playstations? You see, once we start granting “human right” status to things people WANT, there is no end.
I guess this means that Halle Berry has been violating my human rights doesn’t it? And OH yes, I demand my human right to have her bring the cat suit AND the whip!

Via The Other McCain comes this awful video, and by awful I mean worse than Natural Born Killers, the very worst movie I ever saw.
So, basically, the entire video is dedicated to women, dressed in corny bear costumes telling “bear-faced” lies about what Sarah Palin stands for. Accusing Palin of wanting to do away with unemployment benefits, control who people have sex with, and also of wanting to STOP anyone from getting health care!
They do manage to get Plain’s opposition to abortion correct. apparently “Mama Grizzlies” want their daughters to be able to kill their grandchildren in the womb. Truly sick. Robert Stacy McCain offers an excellent take on that
Isn’t that kind of creepy? Basically, you’re saying that the abortion of your own grandchild is such a grand idea as to assume paramount importance in your political worldview.
Yeah, I know: She’s talking about the “right to choose,” but the abstract right to abortion can’t be separated from the concrete reality of abortion, and that reality is a gruesome, blood-chilling thing to consider. Philosophical theorizing about “rights” can’t elude that reality. And neither can bear costumes.
Yep, because to feminuts, killing babies IS the very definition of not only womanhood, but liberty as well!

So, here’s the question: On matters of national politics and policy, whom do you take more seriously? A Sarah Palin talking with gravity about empowering women to deal responsibly with the problems facing the nation, or a bunch of women dressed like … a dating service for furries?
