Celebrating touchdowns is bad now?
Apparently to the morons who make the rules for college football having fun is bad! William Teach is fired up over this!
Coffman, who played brilliantly in his last college game, led the (Kansas State) Wildcats into Syracuse territory and connected with Hilburn near the sideline about 10 yards down field. After winning a footrace to the end zone, he dropped the ball, did a quick salute and turned to celebrate with his teammates.
The flags came flying and the 2-point attempt turned into a desperation play.
That’s right, campers, K State was given a penalty for excessive celebration for…..throwing a quick salute (picture available at the link). In a time when we have troops fighting two wars, this is simply despicable. Tom Fornelli agrees
It was a terrible call, and at possibly the worst time it could have been made. Kansas State fans, and college football fans have every right to be angry with the official who made the call, and reportedly told Hilburn “wrong choice, buddy” as he threw the flag. Still, we can all be as angry with the official as we want to be, but I worry that we might be shooting the messenger here.
Who is ready for a wise man’s words?
That wise man is Walter Williams, and the video displays all the hallmarks of true wisdom. It is simple, straight forward, and absolutely correct! H/T Blazing cat Fur
Yet another reason to like Sarah Palin
Folks, face it, if douchebags like this are criticizing Palin, she must be a great lady!
What Not To Wear’ fashion guru Clinton Kelly has come out blazing against fellow TLC star Sarah Palin, saying he wasn’t thrilled when he heard that the ex-governor would be doing what he calls an “eight-hour info-commercial on my network.” Sources tell me Clinton isn’t the only star at TLC who wants nothing to do with the right-leaning politician.
“Kate Gosselin isn’t very fond of her either, especially after spending several days taping an episode” of her show, ‘Sarah Palin’s Alaska,’ sources tell me.
Like I said, when whiny, snot-nosed primadonas start criticizing you, you KNOW you are doing something right!
And why is it that all the “gurus” on what “not to wear” look like their mommy dressed them?

GOProud Chairman gets better of MSNBC Host | The Right Scoop
Via The Right Scoop Hilarious! The host from MSNBS actually does a lot to defeat his own argument here. Like saying that republicans HATE Gays becaause two Republican groups will boycott CPAC because GOProud will be there. OK yet, the fact that GOProud was invited, and the fact that most Conservatives have no problem with that belies his absurd point. My favorite part comes when Cenk scoffs that GOProud was only invited the last two years. Barron points out that the group has only existed for two years. Open mouth insert foot Cenk
Chris: Can The Jenn Sterger Sex Tape be far behind?
Chris at Wyblog ponders the images of Jenn Sterger, and the chances of more intimate details of her bedroom antics, and what role Bret Favre might play.
The NFL has thoroughly examined Jenn Sterger and her allegations of inappropriate sextual advances on the part of Brett Favre. And really, who wouldn’t want to thoroughly examine Jenn Sterger? Ms. Sterger, a former NY Jets game hostess, alleged that the future Hall of Fame quarterback sent her explicit text messages and photos, including a picture of a penis, during and after his tenure with the Jets.
But it wasn’t until Favre left the Jets for Minnesota that Sterger’s story got legs. The league immediately opened an investigation, which finally concluded today.
Brett Favre will be fined $50,000, not for any alleged misconduct, but for failing to “cooperate” with the NFL’s investigation.
Until such a taped appears enjoy these images of Ms. Sterger.
If they had a 12-step program for media idiots……….
Ezra Klein would be a charter member of Media Morons Anonymous! H/T to Yankee Phil. Watch this clip and consider that Klein not only writes for a major newspaper, but is on TV as some type of authority! Authority on what exactly? Historical illiteracy? This boob thinks the Constitution is just too confusing, and does not even have a clue how old it is! I think our Marxist Moron of the Day has arrived!
Whats cooking today at the DaleyGator?
Well, I just woke up, ready for three days off of work, and I have lots on my plate. I have to record my radio show for Monday night, watch lots of football, blog of course, blog some more, and some more. I also have to pick a Blog of the Month for January, and get to the bank at some point, and record some podcasts too. WHEW! I wonder what is for breakfast, whatever my personal chef cooks up I suppose, and sadly, my chef is me, and not this young lady.

What? you thought I would NOT do any Rule 5? Come on!

NYC Sanitation Department’s Slow Snow Cleanup Was A Union Budget Protest – New York Post
Selfish Sanitation Department bosses from the snow-slammed outer boroughs ordered their drivers to snarl the blizzard cleanup to protest budget cuts – a disastrous move that turned streets into a minefield for emergency-services vehicles, The Post has learned.
Miles of roads stretching from as north as Whitestone, Queens, to the south shore of Staten Island still remained treacherously unplowed last night because of the shameless job action, several sources and a city lawmaker said, which was over a raft of demotions, attrition and budget cuts.
“They sent a message to the rest of the city that these particular labor issues are more important,” said City Councilman Dan Halloran (R-Queens), who was visited yesterday by a group of guilt-ridden sanitation workers who confessed the shameless plot.
Halloran said he met with three plow workers from the Sanitation Department – and two Department of Transportation supervisors who were on loan – at his office after he was flooded with irate calls from constituents.
The snitches “didn’t want to be identified because they were afraid of retaliation,” Halloran said. “They were told [by supervisors] to take off routes [and] not do the plowing of some of the major arteries in a timely manner. They were told to make the mayor pay for the layoffs, the reductions in rank for the supervisors, shrinking the rolls of the rank-and-file.”
New York’s Strongest used a variety of tactics to drag out the plowing process – and pad overtime checks – which included keeping plows slightly higher than the roadways and skipping over streets along their routes, the sources said.
The snow-removal snitches said they were told to keep their plows off most streets and to wait for orders before attacking the accumulating piles of snow.
They said crews normally would have been more aggressive in com bating a fierce, fast-moving bliz zard like the one that barreled in on Sunday and blew out the next morning.
The workers said the work slowdown was the result of growing hostility between the mayor and the workers responsible for clearing the snow.
In the last two years, the agency’s workforce has been slashed by 400 trash haulers and supervisors – down from 6,300 – because of the city’s budget crisis. And, effective tomorrow, 100 department supervisors are to be demoted and their salaries slashed as an added cost-saving move.
Sources said budget cuts were also at the heart of poor planning for the blizzard last weekend. The city broke from its usual routine and did not call in a full complement on Saturday for snow preparations in order to save on added overtime that would have had to be paid for them to work on Christmas Day.
The result was an absolute collapse of New York’s once-vaunted systems of clearing the streets and keeping mass transit moving under the weight of 20 inches of snow.
The Sanitation Department last night denied there was a concerted effort to slow snow removal.
“There are no organized or wildcat actions being taken by the sanitation workers or the supervisors,” said spokesman Matthew Lipani.
Joseph Mannion, president of the union that represents agency supervisors, said talk of a slowdown “is hogwash.” But he admitted there is “resentment out there” toward Mayor Bloomberg and his administration because of budget cuts.
His counterpart at the rank-and-file’s union, Harry Nespoli, has also denied there is a job action, though he admitted his guys are working lucrative 14-hour shifts.
Bloomberg spokesman Stu Loeser said only: “We would hope this is not the case.”
But multiple Sanitation Department sources told The Post yesterday that angry plow drivers have only been clearing streets assigned to them even if that means they have to drive through snowed-in roads with their plows raised.
And they are keeping their plow blades unusually high, making it necessary for them to have to run extra passes, adding time and extra pay.
One mechanic said some drivers are purposely smashing plows and salt spreaders to further stall the cleanup effort.
“That is a disgrace. I had to walk three miles because the buses can’t move,” said salesman Yuri Vesslin, 38, of Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn.
Meanwhile, Bloomberg – quickly becoming the public face of failure this week – spent a second consecutive day yesterday defending himself to critics of his administration’s handling of the storm.

So, who were the Biggest Nanny Staters in 2010?
Well, according to the Blogging Role Model the biggest busy bodies were…………
It was a nefarious year for nettlesome nosy-bodies employed by the Nanny State. Here are the top power-grabbers of 2010 who just can’t leave us alone:
– New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Two feet of snow paralyzed trains, buses, plows and emergency vehicles in the Big Apple this week. Perhaps if Bloomberg — the nation’s top self-appointed municipal food cop — spent more of his time on core government duties instead of waging incessant war on taxpayers’ salt, soda, trans-fat and sugar intakes, his battered bailiwick would have been better equipped to weather the storm.
– Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood. He proposed meddling mileage taxes, mused about a system to track drivers’ routes, lobbied for high-speed rail boondoggles and promoted a “livability initiative” to limit suburban growth and force dwellers into public transportation. Then America’s driving czar floated a plan earlier this fall to disable cell phones through some kind of centralized government mechanism. LaHood backed off that creepy crusade, but he is still intent on waging war against drivers who choose to use cell phones, entertainment systems and GPS devices on the road. Just last week, the unstoppable control freak proposed a new rule banning truck and bus drivers from any use of cell phones while driving — including emergency calls on hands-free devices. His anti-car agenda is stuck in overdrive.
– The city of Cleveland. The green police in this Midwestern metropolis made headlines in February with an intrusive plan to roll out electronic snooping trash cans — “smart” rubbish bins bugged with radio frequency identification chips and bar codes to monitor residents’ recycling habits. Violators can be fined $100. Federal stimulus money has gone to fund similar programs in Dayton, Ohio. The technology originated in Germany, was adopted by eco-authoritarians in England (where at least 500,000 trash cans are now embedded with snitch chips) and has spread across Europe. Welcome to the age of Bin Brother.
Lots more Nanny Nonsense, go read the whole thing
Your justified outrage of the day
Sometimes we should lose our temper a bit, and tell it like it is. Not always, but here is an example of justified outrage~!
Oh no! Not another boycott from the self-appointed morality wing of the GOP!
A couple of groups are vowing to boycott CPAC this year because the group GOPProud, a Gay Republican group was invited. Hmmm, why would they take a “I will take my ball and go home” attitude? Why not act like adults, and go, have some discourse, find out where they agree/disagree with GOPProud? Perhaps there is more in common between these groups than not?
Frankly, if I attend CPAC, which I would like to, or not depends on work, not on who is attending. Frankly, I have problems with some of the Nanny Statism I hear from the groups that have their panties in a bunch. So what? Does not mean I would not go just because they were going to be there. Likewise with GOPProud. I might not like everything that group stands for either. Again SO WHAT?
Frankly, the Concerned Women for America and the Family Research Council ought to be bigger than they are being about this. Their boycott is nothing but a childish stunt in my view.
Two of the nation’s premier moral issues organizations, the Family Research Council and Concerned Women for America, are refusing to attend the Conservative Political Action Conference in February because a homosexual activist group, GOProud, has been invited.
“We’ve been very involved in CPAC for over a decade and have managed a couple of popular sessions. However, we will no longer be involved with CPAC because of the organization’s financial mismanagement and movement away from conservative principles,” said Tom McClusky, senior vice president for FRC Action.
“CWA has decided not to participate in part because of GOProud,” CWA President Penny Nance told WND.
FRC and CWA join the American Principles Project, American Values, Capital Research Center, the Center for Military Readiness, Liberty Counsel, and the National Organization for Marriage in withdrawing from CPAC. In November, APP organized a boycott of CPAC over the participation of GOProud.
There is also a good deal of dismay over the growing Libertarian attitude among many Republicans. Frankly, the GOP should embrace more of the Libertarian ideals, not all necessarily, but many of them. The fact is the more we can remove government from our lives, ALL areas of our lives, the better! Some “Social Conservatives” are all for embracing small government, until something offends them. Then they want the FCC to crack down on TV, then they start carping about “public airwaves” and “community standards” to beat the band. Of course, now their mantra about5 public airwaves is being used by Liberals like Al Sharpton to try and use the FCC to control Conservative talkers like Rush Limbaugh.
The sad fact is this, once you invite the government into your home to control your TV, or your community standards, so you will not be offended, that same government will soon be in every room of your house. That same government will soon be controlling everything you do. The Social Conservatives ought to learn this lesson, and learn how to use the remote control as well. trust me it is pretty easy.
Again, boycotting CPAC just makes these groups look less Conservative and more like Liberals to me. If I were to advise them, I would say grow up and show up.
Another case of zero-tolerance absurdity
Combine zero-tolerance with zero common sense and you get…………….
Ashley Smithwick said she had never gotten in trouble before and was surprised when the principal opened her lunchbox and found the knife.
The teen was initially given a 10-day suspension, then received notice that she was suspended the rest of the school year.
The knife in question? A very small knife, one you might use to peel an apple. So, one stupid, gutless principal might ruin this girl’s life, and her chance at college over this? Take common sense out of the equation, and judgment out as well, and this is the type of thing you end up with. A good kid treated like a common thug.
