Worker Suspended For Anti Obama Email

Worker Suspended For Anti Obama Email – Sweetness & Light

From a color blinded Associated Press:

A Louisiana State Senate employee has been formally reprimanded and suspended for a month without pay because she sent an e-mail to hundreds of government workers that appeared to try to show President Barack Obama as white.

Senate President Joel Chaisson announced the punishment Tuesday for Senate researcher Tammy Crain-Waldrop. She can return to work Jan. 3 and must send a written apology to Senate and House staff and lawmakers.

What a Christmas present for Ms. Crain-Waldrop.

She also will have to attend diversity training.

Natch.

Crain-Waldrop sent a message that included a doctored photo of Obama with light skin and says, “Do you like him any better now? No? Me neither… Then you’re not a racist.”

Chaisson called the message, which Crain-Waldrop sent by mistake to the Capitol e-mail post office box Nov. 30, “highly inappropriate.”

This ranks right up there with people being fired for using the word ‘reneged’ or Hallmark apologizing for its greeting cards about ‘black holes.’ This email is the polar opposite of racism. But never mind that.

Not even imaginary crimes against Mr. Obama can be tolerated. For any criticism of the great man is literally lèse-majesté – that is, ‘injured majesty.’

Still, you would think our first ‘post racial’ President would seize on this opportunity to intervene and discourage such a travesty of justice. (He could even issue a Christmas Winter Solstice pardon.)

But of course you would be wrong.

Florida School Board Shooter Posted Suicide Note Railing Against The Rich, Linking To Media Matters – The Blaze

Clay Duke, the man who opened fire on a Florida school board Tuesday, posted a “last testament” on Facebook decrying the wealthy and linking to a slew of progressive sites including theprogressivemind.info and MediaMatters.org.

The chilling Facebook statement, posted under the “About Clay” section, talks about being born poor and how the rich “take turns fleecing us”:

My Testament: Some people (the government sponsored media) will say I was evil, a monster (V)… no… I was just born poor in a country where the Wealthy manipulate, use, abuse, and economically enslave 95% of the population. Rich Republicans, Rich Democrats… same-same… rich… they take turns fleecing us… our few dollars… pyramiding the wealth for themselves. The 95%… the us, in US of A, are the neo slaves of the Global South. Our Masters, the Wealthy, do, as they like to us…

In addition to the note, Duke also includes a reference to class warfare:

“There’s class warfare, all right, but its my class, the rich class that’s making war and we’re winning” – Warren Buffet

And then issues a call to rise up, which seems to be from a poem titled “The Mask of Anarchy”:

Rise like lions after slumber
In unvanquishable number.
Shake your chains to earth like dew.
Which in sleep has fallen on you.
Ye are many – they are few.

Besides the writings, Duke also includes an exhaustive list of links under the quote “You want the truth? You can’t handle the truth!” The page includes a link dedicated to Wikileaks, another to a progressive 9/11 truther site, and even Media Matters:

The first link (metanoia-film) is to an independent film site, which includes a trailer for a movie called “Human Resources”:

A description of the video found online says it “explores the rise of mechanistic philosphy and the exploitation of human beings under modern hierarhical systems.”

Duke apparently has a history of violence. WMBB-TV reveals Duke’s past:

Clay Duke has quite a history. This video shows him in court over 10 years ago authorities allege he made threats and even shot out the back tires in a woman’s car. He was released in 2004.

On Wednesday morning, school Superintendent Bill Husfelt, who was shot at by Duke, recounts the ordeal and credits God for stopping the bullet meant to kill him:

Daily Benefactor News – GOP Blasts Democrats’ $1.1 Trillion Spending Bill Containing 39,000 Earmarks

————————————————————- TOP STORY ————————————————————-

GOP Blasts Democrats’ $1.1 Trillion Spending Bill Containing 39,000 Earmarks – Newsroom America

Republican leaders in the Senate blasted a $1.1 trillion spending bill rolled out Tuesday by Majority Leader Harry Reid as irresponsible and “inappropriate,” complaining that much of the 1,900-page legislation was written in secret.

“It’s completely inappropriate; I’m vigorously in opposition to it,” Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said before vowing that Republicans would oppose the measure without significant changes.

“No one has seen it,” McConnell also said, accusing Democrats of writing the bill behind closed doors and without bipartisan input.

The measure increases spending by less than 2 percent over last year but contains thousands of earmarks which have become a focal point for congressional critics especially over the past few years as the recession deepened. In all, the bill contains an average of $575 million worth of spending per page, according to one analysis.

Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., a longtime critic of earmarks, took to the Senate floor Tuesday evening to lament the bill’s scope and focus.

“While we continue to uncover which earmarks the appropriators decided to fund – thanks to a new online database – we at least know what earmarks were requested by Members and how much those projects would cost the American people if they were all funded,” he said.

“According to the data they compiled – for fiscal year 2011 Members requested over 39,000 earmarks totaling over $130 billion. Absolutely disgraceful,” McCain said, adding that as of Tuesday evening his staff had identified “6,488 earmarks totaling nearly $8.3 billion.”

Democrats countered that a number of those earmarks were going to states of GOP critics, including projects in McConnell’s home state of Kentucky.

As for Reid, he has threatened to hold the Congress in Washington until Jan. 4, thereby extending the lame duck session through the holidays, to get the spending bill passed.

Some Democrats are supportive of GOP critics who want further austerity measures incorporated into any spending bill lawmakers ultimately back.

Sen. Claire McCaskill of Missouri said in a letter to Reid Tuesday she will not vote for the spending bill if it doesn’t include caps for the next three fiscal years.

“I think that’s an essential part of our decisions going forward as it relates to federal spending. And without that provision being included, I will not vote for the omnibus spending bill,” she said.

McCaskell and Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., an amendment to cap the growth of discretionary spending at an average of 1.5 percent each year through Fiscal Year 2013. McCaskell said the spending caps would not apply to the military and could be waived in cases of emergency, such as droughts, floods, or terrorist attacks, but only with 60 votes.

McCain said the massive bill is not what the American people were looking for out of Washington, as evidenced by the midterm election results.

“One thing is abundantly clear to me – that the majority has not learned the lessons of last month’s election,” he said. “The American people could not have been more clear. They are tired of wasteful spending. They are tired of big government. They are tired of sweetheart deals for special interests. They are tired of business as usual in Washington.

“And they are tired of massive bills – just like this one – put together behind closed doors, and rammed through the Congress at the last moment so that no one has the opportunity to read them and no one really knows what kind of waste is in them,” he said.

Charliev Rangel just overloaded the Hypocrisy Scale!

GOOD FREAKING GRIEF! Can you believe this asshat? H’T for the video to Bluegrass Pundit

The new and improved Race Card, now with no race baiting limit!

Race baiting is big business in America, and for the Left, business has been good for years now. Donald Douglas has the latest example of race baiting to win a political fight. In this case it is over illegal immigration. And, as usual, the Left accuses their opponents of activities they themselves practice!

Which clip will the MFM show? The one on top, where Professor Kent Wong, Director of UCLA’s Center for Labor Research and Education, lauds immigrant students for working hard toward their dream of education and opportunity in America, or the one at bottom, where he excoriates the racist “old white men” in the U.S. Senate, to wild cheers from the crowd. And note at the second clip all this talk about “displacing millions of Americans … in their jobs, seats in college, and elections.” That’s a classic summary statement on the neo-communist left’s reconquista revolutionary agenda:

“We will win the dream act soon — very soon,” he exclaimed. “When that day comes, we will celebrate with millions and millions of people of people across this country who are standing with you tonight. Who stand for justice, who stand for democracy and equal opportunities for all.”

“When that day happens, the young people of the DREAM Act movement, will go on to accomplish and do great things with your lives,” he said. “You will go on to become lawyers, teachers, doctors and members of the US congress to replace those old white men… You are the hope and future of this country. You are hope and future of your generation.”

If Dream Act Amnesty passes, millions of Americans will be DISPLACED and REPLACED in their jobs, seats in college, and elections.

Here are the two videos Douglas referenced, I got sick watching this prick, doing his damnedest to sell out American sovereignty. First we see, and hear the playing of the Race Card

Now listen to who the REAL racists are!

Do these fools ever seriously consider that perhaps they should try to take the example of America and try to change THEIR NATIONS? Instead they break in to our nation, and demand hand outs? If they wish to come here LEGALLY, then God bless them! But I am fed up with these miscreants who want to tear down American sovereignty.

Dave Ramsey lays it on the line!

H/T to American and proud for this post!

After you watch that check out the fine work Robert has done on class warfare Here is a sample

I couldn’t give a rats ass if someone makes a trillion dollars a year as long as they are doing it legally,  and I don’t give a damn if they don’t give to charity, or church or even spend it on their family. It’s their business.

I hold the rich American in high regard, I figure the vast majority of today’s wealthy Americans earned it by working hard and making the right decisions. I also know there are several Black, Latino and Asian wealthy, which means it’s possible for everyone.

I am in my late 40′s now and unless something miraculous happens I don’t plan on having an estate worth taxing after my death. I don’t expect to pay 70% of my income in federal taxes to pay for touchy feely programs our elected officials dream up. So the dog in this fight is not mine.

I would love to ask the Democrats who exactly are they fighting for?

Well, they are fighting for more money to buy votes with frankly. Democrats learned long ago that they can win elections, and be re-elected if they successfully divide Americans. Be it by gender, race, sexual orientation, religion or income. They love top pit one American against another, creating division and resentment to convince this group or that group that the are “fighting for them”. Sadly, many Americans have fallen for this trick. Of course, the modern-day Democrats are much more closely tied ideologically to Marx and Engels than they are to Madison or Jefferson. They believe not in our founding principles like Robert does.

Oh no, not those wacky, crazy, largely non-existent Moderates again!

The media LOVES then some Moderates. Moderates, of course, are folks who possess neither the brain nor the spine to really stand for anything, Stacy McCain notes the latest “Moderates rising” non-sense from the media.

Few things are more predictable than this: Whenever Republicans are on the upswing — whenever conservatives are on fire with enthusiasm, proclaiming their core principles and clearly on the winning side of important issues — the mainstream media will devote enormous coverage to an alleged groundswell of discontented moderates whose demands for “bipartisanship” and “civility” are accompanied by condemnation of “divisiveness” and complaints that “extremists” are ignoring the vast majority of independent “centrist” voters.

Let the reader note that we never heard any such complaints about “divisiveness” and “extremism” after Obama was elected and Democrats were ramming their partisan agenda through Congress.

How very true it sort of like the “Republican party is not a BIG TENT PARTY” BS the Meghan McCain wing of the party spews. And now, from that wing of the party comes the latest in stupidity!

All of this is to explain what notorious candy-ass Allahpundit calls the RINO/DINO Alliance, an alleged “movement” with a manifesto co-authored by David Frum:

On Dec. 13, more than 1,000 citizens from the 50 states will convene in New York to change the odds. They are founding a movement – No Labels. Among them will be Democrats, Republicans and independents who are proud of their political affiliations and have no intention of abandoning them. A single concern brings them together: the hyper-polarization of our politics that thwarts an adult conversation about our common future. A single goal unites them: to expand the space within which citizens and elected officials can conduct that conversation without fear of social or political retribution.

Oh no, not a DINO/RINO hookup, what sort of bastard child would a coupling of those two bring forth? One with no principles, no spine, no fortitude, and no clue. Im\n other words a beast quite similar to one David Brooks! Stacy explains

The purpose of No Labels, of course, is to give the most irredeemably stupid “independent” voters an excuse to keep voting for Democrats. The mere fact that “No Labels” gets an 808-word free advertisement on the op-ed page of the Washington Post should tell you all you need to know about this alleged movement: It’s a ginned-up Establishment scam with no real activist constituency. Erick Erickson summarizes yesterday’s No Label summit:

Only in a place like New York, where a man can set off a bomb in Times Square and have the mayor blame opponents of Obamacare, could an unserious circle of smug, self-righteous political exiles get together and demand that they be treated seriously — so long as we give them no labels.

Stacy also gives us a peek at whom is involved in the No Labels Principles orgy of moral cowardice!

All you need to do to understand what No Labels is about is to look at the list of speakers for yesterday’s big coming-out party. An organization whose manifesto was co-authored by David Frum, and which manages to get both David Brooks and David Gergen at its inaugural event — well, suffice it to say this probably isn’t the kind of “Army of Davids” Professor Reynolds had in mind. This isn’t a “movement.” That would require not only an identifiable activist constituency but also some clear sense of where it is they intend to “move.”

No, this is inertia. This is status quo-ism, a panic reaction to a populist insurgency, a desperate bid for relevance by an establishmentarian elite flying a false flag of bipartisanship, since their bogus “movement” is actually bipartisan in name only:

[T]he only Republicans present at Columbia University’s modern, square Alfred Lerner Hall seemed to be those who had recently lost primary races, such as South Carolina Rep. Bob Inglis and Delaware Rep. Mike Castle, or former Republicans like Florida Gov. Charlie Crist and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg. No other senior elected Republican officials were in attendance, though a range of Democrats were present, some of them seeming a bit mystified by the bipartisan cast of the event . . .

MUCH, much more at the link. Stacy McCain dissects this “movement” and finds, well, head over and find out what abomination lies behind this scam that only a used car salesman or a televangelist could love!

More class warfare from our president

Wolf Files offers the key commentary here! Note the president says “I believed that the best way to help the economy, and working families, was to keep middle class tax rates low, and cut taxes for working parents, college students, and small businesses.” To which Milton Wolf responds

Mr. President, college students don’t pay taxes. What’s next, tax cuts on motherhood and apple pie?

The Left mocks Palin, yet they revere this guy’s intellect?…

H/T to Yankee Phil Odd, Obama is hailed as a super genius, yet he refuses to learn from history, or to learn even from his own mistakes. He is hailed as a “Constitutional scholar” yet, he seems to be completely detached from the founding principles. He seems to have no ability to speak without his teleprompter, yet he is hailed as a brilliant orator? YIKES! The things that pass for intelligence on the Left

Bob Belvedere: Hey, lets just turn Congress into a BBQ joint and be done with it!

Given our politicians addiction to pork, it just might work. They can stop legislating and start BBQing, think of the money they would NOT be spending, except on wood, spices, sauces, and meats of course. And they could sell their BBQ and raise oodles of money to support revenues. And, to boot, the American people would have plenty of money to buy the BBQ. I mean, since Congress would be BBQing instead of spending our money before we could even make it.

Yesterday the Senate voted 83-15 on cloture for the Obama-McConnell-Boehner Tax-Pork Bill. The GOP Leadership got snookered once again, apparently telling Obama in the meeting which led to this folly: ‘Please sir, may I have another’. Barry and his Socialist pals were happy to oblige and they gave it good and hard.

Stacy McCain:

How did they get 80+ votes for cloture? Pork. This bill contains more pork than a Carolina barbecue shack….

So high is the pork content of this monstrosity that the Democrats who vote for it are all in Walter Reed Hospital this morning having their arteries cleaned out.

Five Republicans voted against it, including Jim DeMint, the man who I am now convinced, more than ever, should be leading the GOP in the Senate. Granny Mitch should be sent to the Dog Track along with Crying John ‘Boner’ Boehner [who can bring his Kleenex along].

Of course, if Michelle Obama finds out about the whole BBQ idea, well……….

Funny thing about that clip, the First Lady says that kids spend so much time in school, that the government should at least make sure the kids are eating right. So, perhaps the kids are simply spending too much time in school? We could shorten their days, skip lunches altogether, and save tremendous amounts of money. Of course, then schools would have to focus on teaching, rather than indoctrinating. The teachers union would freak out too. Of course, if the teachers union hates the idea, then you know it would benefit the kids. Since we all know the teachers union are all about themselves and not about educating children.

Daily Benefactor News – ‘No Labels’? Try ‘No Originality’ Or ‘No Integrity’ Instead

‘No Labels’? Try ‘No Originality’ Or ‘No Integrity’ Instead – Gothamist

Today Mayor Bloomberg, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) and some other boldfaced political names got together to launch “No Labels,” an organization calling for a new era of non-partisan political change. The non-profit, according to Politics Daily, plans to “endorse and perhaps help finance candidates in party primaries but not in national elections.” Their slogan is “No Labels. Not Left. Not Right. Forward.” But considering how closely the group’s logo/design (Twitter!) resembles the work of graphic designer Thomas Porostocky, they might want to change the name to No Copyright.

Update: The No Labels designer says it’s just a coincidence that he and Porostocky must have used the same clip art file… but Porostocky tells us his animals are original. More below.

Update 2: Now the No Labels designer admits the animals are too similar!

Porostocky’s artwork, which also happens to be about expanding the two-party system, was chosen by Milton Glaser for a 2005 exhibit called “Design of Dissent,” which was later published in book form. It was also featured in Good magazine, and is used by More Party Animals, an “apolitically-political idea born out of a heartfelt disenchantment with the status quo.” As you can see, the designs look pretty similar, and Porostocky tells us he was never contacted about No Labels:

I just found about this a few minutes ago, so to be honest, I’m still a little stunned at the blatant plagiarism. I hadn’t been aware of No Labels prior to today, so needless to say they have definitely not reached out in any way. Considering the names they have on their speaker list (Bloomberg, Gillibrand et al), this clearly isn’t just a simple mom and pop operation, so there really is no excuse for this. There are plenty of politically aware artists out there who they could’ve reached out to in a legitimate (and well, legal) fashion to create something original. There was no need to make a trip down to the Canal Street of ideas.

And let’s be clear, they aren’t just suspiciously similar, they’re directly using elements from work that I created. For the most blatant example, reference this and this.

Update: Dave Warren, the designer who created the work for No Labels, sent us a statement (same as the one he gave Politico) and he chalks it up to a clip art coincidence:

FLY Communications created the animals for No Labels, we did not steal them. But we did start, like almost every ad agency these days, with clip art. In this case royalty free clip art available to anyone with a computer and Internet connection. Then we altered, colored, changed and molded the shapes into ones we liked. We did not see, use, or steal any other work. Since so many other firms have access to these same public files – and their are millions of these files – they can do the same thing we did. So if there are similar treatments as ours it only means they were dipping in the same file. Our original intention was to parody the classic red, white and blue donkey and elephant party designs that have been around for decades. So we really thought about how cool it would be to have a similarly colored buffalo, or snail, or pelican. It seems our thought process was similar to this other designer. And it is very apparent that we arrived at the same place conceptually as well as technically. In our designs, we show the animals both separately and together. Another crazy similarity. Ugh.

However, Porostocky tells us he did not use clip art – his animals were original. It’s also remarkable coincidence that many of the animals are in the exact same place – we took the No Labels t-shirt and overlaid Porostocky’s Party Animals over it – check it out yourself. We asked Warren if he could direct us to the clip art he used; he said his team was in the process of locating it.

Warren also spoke to City Room, “I do my own thinking, man. Feel free to come to one of my classes at Parsons… I have a long and storied history on Madison Avenue. I’m not stupid enough to steal anybody’s work; I have too much faith to come up with my own ideas,” and said of Porostocky, “Tell the other guy to Google my name.”

Update: We just spoke to Warren, who now feels “terrible.” He agrees that More Party Animals and No Labels’ animals are “too close” in design. Warren, who is the creative director at Fly, explained that after they worked on the concept of alternate animals in red and blue, another designer was tasked to work on it and came up with the above.

The designer came back with what we see above. Cut to today: When Warren asked him where he got the animals, the designer said it was clip art. One possibility is that Porostocky’s More Party Animals’ art was appropriated by a clip art source without credit, and that’s how No Labels’ design team came across it. Warren does now believe that the original source art was Porostocky’s but thinks his designer used clip art outlines. Warren added that the similarities were troubling and the last thing he wants to do is to be stealing art – or stealing from something that was stolen. So the mystery continues, until the clip art emerges.

‘No Labels’: Political Correctness By A Different Name – Jonah Goldberg
I’ve been having a bit of fun on Twitter mocking this whole No Labels thing. For instance:

“Pupils formerly known as bullies celebrate label-liberation as they beat pupils formerly known as nerds into bloody stumps.”

“Animal formerly known as ‘cat’ still refuses to fetch, even though liberated from the ‘cat’ label.”

And after the Virginia court decision:

“Fear not liberals, ‘unconstitutional’ is only a label.”

And so on. But I would hate for my jocularity to mislead people. I’m deadly serious about how stupid and pernicious I think this whole thing is.

I think Stan Kurtz had it right. No Labels claims it wants to make it easier to talk about politics by making it more difficult for people it dislikes to talk about politics. It’s political correctness by a different name (and we all know how there are no labels in political correctness!).

I’ve been tuning in and out of the livecast of the NoLabelpalooza and it is so transparently obvious that this is a Trojan horse for a bunch of defeated liberal and moderate politicians to find some new rationale for their continued political relevance.

Is there “extreme” rhetoric on the Right and Left? Sure. But, there’s extremist rhetoric in the center, too. Centrists routinely demonize the people they think are extreme. Like everyone else, sometimes they make fair points, sometimes they don’t. But what the avowed centrists want to do is declare themselves the sole arbiters of reasonableness.

One of the myriad problems with this project is the idea that somehow the “center” is a more reasonable location than the Right or the Left, when all the center is—most of the time—is an average of the Left and Right’s positions. If you think the extreme Right is crazy and the extreme Left is crazy, why should it follow that splitting difference between the two is wise? It may be on some issues, but it just as easily may not be.

Oh, and the political spectrum is not binary. Libertarians reject statism in all its forms (or at least the good libertarians do!). Sometimes the Left agrees with the libertarians, sometimes the Right does. That’s why some libertarians have been trying to create a “libertarian center” with little success. You can get a glimpse into why that effort doesn’t work by simply contemplating the fact that the libertarian center and the David Gergen center look nothing alike.

Indeed, the irony is that what has passed for the center in one generation often seems extremist in the next. Official but “polite” racism was the mainstream centrist position not too long ago. Forced sterilizations, slavery, population control, Japanese internment, male-only suffrage, censorship, corporal punishment in schools, severe divorce laws, anti-sodomy laws, etc.—all of these things were for a time centrist but are now considered extreme or even unthinkable.

I can think of any number of things that are today considered extreme which I hope will one day be centrist and any number of things that are now centrist that I hope will one day be considered extreme. I am sure that pretty much every person who thinks seriously about politics and morality can do likewise, even if our lists may be different. What the No Labels crowd seeks to do is lock-in their definitions of reasonableness, to reify the bundle of establishment assumptions about the status quo into an inherently superior and moral worldview. To which we should all respond, Feh.

Some of the people involved in No Labels are very smart and very decent people who, as far as I can tell, have a deep patriotic love for America. What they seem to lack is sufficient respect for Americans and their ability to sort out these issues. They seem to think they are the Chosen People of politics with a unique insight into what is a legitimate point and what is an illegitimate one. They have contempt for the idea that there are sincere philosophical and political disagreements and so they try to belittle and dismiss those disagreements by waving them away as “labels” or name-calling (remember Barack Obama at the healthcare summit dismissing every inconvenient point as a “talking point”?).

Of course, the No Labelers are guilty of naked hypocrisy, employing labels (eek!) and hurling mean names (eek! Eek!) with abandon at the unreasonable unwashed, because they think that is their right and their calling.

Well, it’s not.

Bret Favre sits, streak ends at 297

Well, lots of folks will be joyous over this. All I can say is it was fun to watch.

The Minnesota Vikings quarterback finally gave in Monday to sports mortality, ending his consecutive starts streak at 297 games. He eluded the Four Horsemen for 19 years, steering through Death, Pestilence, Famine and War before they cornered him.

Favre, 41, will miss a game for the first time since Sept. 6, 1992, felled by a sprained SC joint near his right shoulder. The injury left him with numbness in his right hand all week and unable to throw with anything close to his normal velocity.

Virginia judge declares unconstitutional bill, unconstitutional!

Yes, it is a small step, but a step nonetheless folks~! Here are what my favorite bloggers are saying!

Doug Powers

Nancy Pelosi said “we’ll have to pass it to find out what’s in it.” Many in Congress are just now finding out what’s in the mammoth sham they rammed through (unintended consequences and all), and at least one federal judge with an eye on the US Constitution has read it as well.

Donald Douglas has his take

Bluegrass Pundit notes that Speaker Face Lift was hardest hit by the judge’s ruling.

Fire Andrea Mitchell is gloating! And quotes the judge!

An individual’s personal decision to purchase — or decline purchase — (of) health insurance from a private provider is beyond the historical reach” of the U.S. Constitution,” Hudson wrote. “No specifically constitutional authority exists to mandate the purchase of health insurance.”

Gateway Pundit has the obligatory response from Obama’s Spokestool

Hot Air has a huge round up including this quote from the judge

Hudson hits the nail on the head with this:

Hudson rejected the government’s argument that it has the power under the Constitution to require individuals to buy health insurance, a provision that was set to take effect in 2014.

“Of course, the same reasoning could apply to transportation, housing or nutritional decisions,” Hudson wrote. “This broad definition of the economic activity subject to congressional regulation lacks logical limitation” and is unsupported by previous legal cases around the Commerce Clause of the Constitution.

Hudson — perhaps not inadvertently — just described the progressive agenda in a single sentence, and why the Constitution forbids it.

Hudson also is repeating the exact things I have said about this. if the government can make you buy health insurance……………..

JWF: Oh sure NOW the Left hates activist judges!

Michelle Malkin is ALL OVER THIS!

Hey, remember when conservatives objected to the Obamacare federal individual mandate on constitutional grounds and the liberal establishment laughed.

Flashback October 2009 – Pelosi scoffs at constitutional concerns. Listen:

Flashback October 2009 – Sen. Leahy scoffs at constitutional concerns. Remember:

CNSNews.com: “Where, in your opinion, does the Constitution give specific authority for Congress to give an individual mandate for health insurance?”

Sen. Leahy: “We have plenty of authority. Are you saying there is no authority?”

CNSNews.com: “I’m asking–”

Sen. Leahy: “Why would you say there is no authority? I mean, there’s no question there’s authority. Nobody questions that.”

Who’s laughing now?

Political Junkie Mom notes that the Libs are kinda, well, PISSY!

Jill, gives round one to the good guys!

Via William Jacobson, the judge finds that Congress went too far:

The unchecked expansion of congressional power to the limits suggested by the Minimum Essential Coverage Provision would invite unbridled exercise of federal police powers. At its core, this dispute is not simply about regulating the business of insurance-or crafting a scheme of universal health insurance coverage-it’s about an individual’s right to choose to participate. Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution confers upon Congress only discrete enumerated governmental powers. The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people. See U.S. Const. amend. X; Printz v. United States, 521 U.S. 898, 919, 117 S. Ct. 2365, 2376-77 (1997).  [at p. 37]

On careful review, this Court must conclude that Section 1501 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act-specifically the Minimum Essential Coverage Provision-exceeds the constitutional boundaries of congressional power. [at p. 38]

The judge validated what conservatives have been shouting from the rooftops since this saga began:

Ruby Slippers weighs in

Stacy uses the R-word!

Without the individual mandate, the projected “savings” calculations don’t work, and so you might as well repeal the whole damn thing. Big first-round win for Virginia attorney general Ken Cuccinelli (who is my favorite GOP candidate to challenge Jim Webb in 2012, FWIW).

Daniel Greenfield asks the question on the century

Who WILL teach tolerance to Muslims? HMMMMMMMMMMMM

Every time a Muslim terrorist is caught trying to kill Americans in the name of Islam, the media and the politicians immediately go on full alert over the threat of an “Islamophobic backlash” against Muslims. Right away city mayors, district attorneys, law enforcement officials, sensitivity trainers, school board members, television executives and editorial writers go sliding down the TolerancePole(TM) on an urgent mission to head off the inevitable orgy of violence by ordinary Americans who are always presumed to be 5 minutes away from shouldering a battering ram and heading off to the nearest mosque– by teaching tolerance toward Islam. That means embedding Islam even deeper into the school curriculum, adding a “positive depiction” of a Muslim to every TV show on the air, and arresting anyone who even looks funny at a Koran

With all the energy expended on teaching Americans to be tolerant of Islam, you would think the streets of every major city were covered in the bodies of Muslims murdered by mobs of ignorant Americans who had never been exposed to the wonders of Islam. But 9 years after Muslims murdered thousands of Americans, there has yet to be such a case. The mobs have not materialized. Even the already inflated number of hate crimes targeting Muslims are a blip on the radar compared to how many such crimes target Jews and Blacks. The Islamophobic backlash that was on the verge of drowning Dearborn or Jersey City in a postmodern pogrom has never actually materialized.

So far Muslims have murdered thousands of Americans. And a single American filmmaker killed his Muslim partner when the latter expressed support for Al Qaeda right after 9/11. That was 9 years ago.

As of now the domestic murder scoreboard reads, “Muslims 3,000 – Americans 1″. Anyone trained in the arcane arts of basic addition and subtraction can’t help but look at that score and wonder if it’s perhaps the people who have a kill count in the thousands who need to be taught tolerance, more than the schlubs who were just barely tolerant enough to score a 1.

Go read the whole thing, it is well written, thought provoking, and frankly, ought to be read BY THE LEFT in this nation. Lord knows the media needs to heed this.

Da Tech Guy: Will the Left ever give up their Palin Derangement Syndrome?

Well, buddy, they will never give it up! They are Stuck on Stoopit!

You know there is a point when you just have to hang it up

The Associated Press transmitted a photo from Haiti of Palin captioned, “Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, center, has her hair done during a visit to a cholera treatment center set up by the NGO Samaritan’s Purse in Cabaret, Haiti, Saturday Dec. 11, 2010. Palin arrived Saturday in Haiti as part of a brief humanitarian mission. Dieu Nalio Chery / AP”

That photo and caption set off rabid attacks on Palin from the Huffington Post, the U.K.’s Daily Mail and, of course, Palingates.

The photo does indeed show Sarah Palin standing with her husband Todd as a woman whose face is obscured uses two hands to fix the hair on the right side of Palin’s head.

However, one can observe that the woman is white, with her brown hair pulled back in a ponytail, wearing a white shirt with a bulky scarf and dark pants.

In other photos from Saturday, Todd and Sarah Palin’s white, brunette, eldest daughter Bristol, who accompanied her parents on the trip to Haiti, is wearing the exact same clothing and ponytail as the “hair stylist” in the AP photo.

That’s right, what the Palin-hating AP and others fail to report is that the “hair stylist” is Bristol Palin.
