Meyer’s Gators Suck Slightly Less Than Paterno’s Lions, Win Largely Pointless Outback Bowl – KTXL

It took three field goals, five interceptions, three quarterbacks and a blocked punt, but Florida sent coach Urban Meyer out with a win.

Playing in Meyer’s final game, the Gators beat Penn State 37-24 in the Outback Bowl at Raymond James Stadium on Saturday.

The defense and special teams spent much of the game making up for the shortcomings of the offense.

The Gators had three interceptions and blocked a punt that was returned for a touchdown to help out.

Florida (8-5) got field goals from 20, 30 and 47 yards from punter Chas Henry.

The Gators trailed Penn State (7-6) for much of the game until getting a touchdown from Mike Gillislee and a FG from Henry to make it 30-24. They got a late interception return for a touchdown from Ahmad Black to bring the game to its final score.

The game is the last for Meyer, who resigned on Dec. 8.

Lots of mistakes on both sides–but glad the Gators prevailed!

Yep, we showed heart, Meyer will be missed, but I am confident Muschamp will do well
