Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting Hogs

Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting Hogs – Weekly Vice

Andrew Lee Nash, a 52-year-old Greenwood man was jailed on charges that he sexually assaulted several hogs, giving four of them vaginal infections.

According to Greenwood police, the owner of several show hogs had the animals examined by a veterinarian on a routine basis. On one visit, the veterinarian noted that four of the hogs had a vaginal infection, believed to be caused by a sexual assault.

Investigators set up surveillance around the hog pen and caught Nash as he was sneaking into the pen for an alleged rendezvous with the hogs.

Nash was booked into the Leflore County jail and charged with 12 counts of unnatural intercourse. His bond was initially set at $600,000, but later reduced to $60,000.

He is scheduled for court next month. If he is found guilty, he could face up to 120 years incarceration.

Errant Text Message Accidentally Detonates Suicide Bomber, Saving Hundreds – The Blaze

The next time you get an annoying mass text message, you might want to think twice before getting upset. It could save your life. At least that’s what happened recently in Russia.

Security sources tell the London Telegraph that a Russian Islamic terrorist plan was foiled on New Year’s Eve when a “Happy New Year” text detonated the terrorist’s suicide bomb prematurely:

Security sources believe a spam message from her mobile phone operator wishing her a happy new year received just hours before the planned attack triggered her suicide belt, killing her but nobody else.

The phones are usually kept switched off until the very last minute but in this case, Russian security sources believe, the terrorists were careless.

She was at her Moscow safe house at the time getting ready with two accomplices, both of whom survived and were seen fleeing the scene.

The Telegraph explains that cell phones and text messages are a favorite tool of Islamic terrorists in Russia. “The bomber’s handler, who is usually watching their charge, sends the bomber a text message in order to set off his or her explosive belt at the moment when it is thought they can inflict maximum casualties,” the paper writes. It adds that the bombing could have killed hundreds.

The would-be bomber has not been identified, however police believe she is connected to the group that orchestrated a deadly suicide bombing at Moscow’s Domodedovo airport earlier this week that killed 35.

Makes you want to go out and get an unlimited text plan, doesn’t it?

Egypt Erupts In Chaotic Riots – The Sun

Violent riots have exploded on the streets of Egypt as tens of thousands of stone-throwing protesters confronted police.

Cops fired back at the anti-government campaigners with rubber bullets, tear gas and water cannons.

Protester Mohammed Atef, 22, was killed instantly after being brutally shot in the head by police in the town of Sheikh Zoweid in northern Sinai.

Dozens of other people are reported to have been wounded, but it is not clear how many of these are civilians or police.

The protesters want President Hosni Mubarak, who has ruled for 30 years, to stand down.

The ugly scenes came hours after Mubarak pulled the plug on Egypt’s phone and internet system in a bid to stop activists from planning further street demonstrations.

At 5.20am this morning masses of internet traffic to and from the country simultaneously disappeared as the web was disconnected.

Protesters have been relying on social networking sites including Twitter and Facebook to organise marches.

But despite the hard-line action the protests went ahead after noon prayers in the city.

One of the country’s leading pro-democracy advocates Mohamed ElBaradei and his supporters were among those fired at with water cannons.

Police used batons to beat some of ElBaradei’s supporters. He was trapped inside a mosque while hundreds of riot police fired tear gas in the streets.

The tear gas canisters set several cars ablaze outside the mosque and people fainted and suffered burns.

Thousands of protesters gathered at at least six venues in Cairo, a city of about 18 million people, and began marching toward major squares.

They are demanding Mubarak be removed and venting their rage at years of government neglect of rampant poverty, unemployment and rising food prices.

There were smaller protests in Assiut south of Cairo and al-Arish in the Sinai Peninsula.

Clashes between thousands of demonstrators and police in the Mediterranean port city of Alexandria and Minya south of Cairo have also taken place.

In the upscale Mohandiseen district of Cairo, at least 10,000 people were marching toward the city centre, chanting: “Down, down with Mubarak.”

Thousands of Jordanian opposition supporters have also taken to the streets against Prime Minister Samir Rifai.

Pat Austin: Bi-partisanship bites!

Or words to that general affect anyway

Did you watch the SOTU?  I didn’t.  Just couldn’t do it.  I’ve seen that man read off a Teleprompter for two years now and I don’t believe anything he says, anyway, so why suffer?  I especially could not stomach the “date night” seating arrangements, which as I hear, had the desired Democratic effect of muffling the partisan applause.

As someone said to me last night, “Don’t those Republicans get it?  Didn’t they learn anything in November?!  We don’t WANT them to go up there and hold hands and everyone get along.  We WANT things to be different!”  I understand this point.  Bickering is not necessarily productive, but bi-partisanship is over rated.

As reported by the Indianapolis Star, Pence has circulated a letter to supporters announcing the decision.

Fair enough, and best of luck to Mr. Pence

Sen. Barrasso To Introduce Legislation Blocking Environmental Protection Agency

Sen. Barrasso To Introduce Legislation Blocking Environmental Protection Agency – Daily Caller

Republican Sen. John Barrasso of Wyoming plans to introduce legislation Monday to preempt the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) plan to regulate carbon emissions, The Daily Caller has learned. It is the latest move by congressional Republicans who view the agency’s rules as a backdoor attempt to implement a cap and trade system.

“Barrasso’s bill stops this backdoor attempt to enact Obama’s cap-and-trade agenda through EPA and the rest of the federal bureaucracy,” said Barrasso spokesperson Emily Lawrimore. “The Barrasso bill restates and reaffirms the will of Congress as the sole authority over federal climate change policy.”

The bill, however, will go beyond just blocking the EPA. It will stop all federal agencies from implementing new energy taxes that could have a negative effect on employment and energy costs.

Barrasso’s bill builds off an amendment introduced last spring by then-Ohio Republican Sen. George Voinovich that would have blocked the EPA and individual U.S. states from regulating greenhouse gases.

While Voinovich’s amendment and the climate bill it was attached to never passed, Barrasso has used the Voinovich amendment as a template for his standalone bill. According to Lawrimore, the specifics of the bill are still being worked out.

Oklahoma Sen. James Inhofe, ranking member on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, is also working on crafting legislation to stop the EPA. According to Inhofe spokesperson Matt Dempsey, the senator is working closely with Michigan Rep. Fred Upton, chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, to coordinate a strategy.

While the Republican-controlled House could easily pass a full preemption bill, things will be harder in the Senate. Any success in passing a bill in the Senate will likely come down to persuading moderate Democrats to support it.

Daily Benefactor Columnists – Hope, Change, And ‘Invest’ (Ann Coulter) – More Op-Eds

——————————————————- FEATURED OP-ED ——————————————————-

Hope, Change, And ‘Invest’ – Ann Coulter

I missed the middle section of Obama’s State of the Union address when I took a break to read “War and Peace,” but I gather he never got around to what I was hoping he’d say, which is: “What was I thinking?”

The national debt is $14 trillion, the Democrats won’t stop spending, and President Nero gave us a long gaseous speech about his Stradivarius.

I feel so Southern whenever I watch a Democrat give a State of the Union address – and not just because it makes me want to secede. Consternating the rest of the family, my Kentucky mother always talked back to the TV. I do it only when a Democrat is giving a speech.

And if liberals didn’t like Samuel Alito mouthing the words “not true,” they should be really happy I wasn’t in the House chamber Tuesday night.

All I kept hearing was, “Ann pays more.” That’s all I ever I hear when Democrats start in with all that “investing.”

Apparently the government will be “investing” in education, “investing” in technology, “investing” in roads and “investing” in lots and lots of government workers. Ann pays more, Ann pays more, Ann pays more.

Obama compared “investing” in education to our sending a man to the moon after the Russians launched Sputnik. Say, who was the president who recently gutted spending on NASA? Oh yes, that was Obama.

So he reminded us of the glory days of the space program, but now he’s taking that money and funneling it to public school teachers. As the Democrats say: “If we can put a man on the moon, why can’t we hire another 10,000 public school teachers?”

Also, solar panels. Obama said the government was already “investing” in solar panels! That’s a total relief. This must be how the president who brought us “Recovery Summer” is going to dig us out of the second Great Depression.

But I do wonder why no private lender considered solar panels a wise investment, forcing solar panel manufacturers to turn to the government for loans, followed by endless tax credits just to break even.

I guess people who work for the government are just smarter. We’re so lucky to have them “investing” our money for us! Boy, egg must be on Warren Buffett’s face!

Remember how massive government “investments” gave rise to the telephone, the light bulb, the automobile, the airplane, the personal computer… OK, none of those.

But massive government expenditures did give us Amtrak and the TSA!

The only thing Obama vowed to cut were “earmarks.” Yippee! The guy with the ears is against earmarks. Yes, the same president who quadrupled our deficit by giving money away to his UAW pals, Wall Street cronies and government workers is now lecturing us about earmarks. This is a bit like being scolded by Charlie Sheen for ordering a second wine cooler.

You knew it was bad when John McCain leapt up and enthusiastically applauded. The last time I saw McCain applaud Obama like that was when he debated him.

Obama said, “We are the nation that put cars in driveways and computers in offices; the nation of Edison and the Wright brothers; of Google and Facebook.”

And then the government outlawed Edison’s great invention, made the Wright brothers’ air travel insufferable, filed anti-trust charges against Microsoft and made cars too expensive to drive by prohibiting oil exploration, and right now – at this very minute – is desperately trying to regulate the Internet.

On the bright side, President Al Gore would have actually outlawed the cars in those driveways.

I especially enjoyed his pitch for high-speed trains where you “don’t have to receive pat-downs.” At least until one of those Muslims who is “part of our American family” blows one up – at which point they’ll be staffed with armies of genital-fondling, unionized TSA agents on the public dime.

Still, I can’t wait for Obama’s America. An America where I can use lightning-fast, high-speed Internet to file electronically for my unemployment benefits. Or better yet, I can ditch my old “oil-powered” car and take a “sunlight and water”-powered high-speed train to the unemployment office for a change.

And I hear CalTech is working on biofuels to power “Recovery Summer 2011.”

The big laugh line was when Nero said mockingly, “I heard rumors that a few of you still have concerns about the health care law.” That’s called “60 percent of the American public.” It’s not a joke, and it’s not funny.

Here’s one: Hey, Obama! Guy walks into a bar in the Gaza Strip. The bartender says, “What’ll you have?” But the guy is killed instantly when an Iranian-made CT-28 missile strikes the bar, also killing a woman and small child next door. Get it, Obama? HA HA!

Synthesizing Karl Marx and Ronald Reagan, Obama said the government will soon be taking over every aspect of our lives, and Republicans can’t stop him – but gosh, isn’t America a great country! Teachers are great, we need to innovate, children are our future, we need paved roads, kids should do their homework, Labrador puppies are cute, I like apple pie, I (heart) Justin Bieber, and how about them Yankees! Now, here’s your 2011 tax bill – how would you like to pay for that?

Actually, I was glad to hear him say that “there isn’t a person here” – which presumably included Democrats – who would live anyplace else.

Then why are they always trying to turn us into Western Europe?

Oh No, Not Another Unbiased BBC Documentary About ‘Climate Change’… – James Delingpole

The new president of the Royal Society, Sir Paul Nurse has been crowing to the Guardian’s environment pages about how he bested me in a documentary for the BBC on Climate Change. This isn’t how I remember it.

Nurse came to interview me at my home last summer, ostensibly – so his producer assured me – as a disinterested seeker-after-truth on a mission to discover why the public is losing its faith in scientists. “Not scientists,” I replied. “Just ‘climate scientists.’” But as is clear from the Horizon documentary Nurse had already made up his mind.

My State Of The Union Address – John Stossel

President Obama fulfilled his constitutional duty and gave his report on the state of the union last night. Here’s mine: We’re in deep trouble. You know why. Our debt has passed $14 trillion, and yet our current spending plans will make that worse. The U.S. debt will reach Greek levels in just 10 years.

But do not despair. If we make reasonable cuts to what government spends, our economy can grow us out of our debt. Cutting doesn’t just make economic sense, it is also the moral thing to do.

His latest article, “The Hot Spotters,” focuses on what Gawande claims is a revolutionary approach to health care.

In Camden, N.J. – hardly a garden spot in the Garden State – just 1 percent of the people who used the city’s medical facilities accounted for 30 percent of the costs. One patient had 324 hospital admissions in five years. Another single-handedly cost insurers $3.5 million.

Can Our Nation Be Saved? – Walter Williams

National debt is over $14 trillion, the federal budget deficit is $1.4 trillion and, depending on whose estimates are used, the unfunded liability or indebtedness of the federal government (mostly in the form of obligations for Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and prescription drugs) is estimated to be between $60 and $100 trillion.

Those entitlements along with others account for nearly 60 percent of federal spending. They are what Congress calls mandatory or non-discretionary spending. Then there’s discretionary spending, half of which is for national defense.

Cash For Education Clunkers – Michelle Malkin

New Heroes Vs. Old – Thomas Sowell

When I mention that my family used kerosene lamps when I was a small child in the South during the 1930s, that is usually taken as a sign of our poverty, though I never thought of us as poor at the time.

What is ironic is that kerosene lamps were a luxury of the rich in the 19th century, before John D. Rockefeller came along. With the high price of kerosene at that time, an ordinary working man could not afford to stay up at night, burning this expensive fuel for hours at a time.

Reporter Evans Suddenly Flips 180 Degrees Over Abercrombie Claim – TrueBlueNZ

FOX News is reporting that radio broadcaster Mike Evans who two days ago claimed that Governor Abercrombie of Hawaii had categorically admitted that there was no record of Obama’s birth in Hawaii, now claims he has not spoken to the Governor on the issue at all. In fact he says he has not spoken to Neil Abercrombie since he was elected Governor.

Mike Evans told FoxNews.com on Wednesday he was remorseful and embarrassed that he appeared to have given the impression that he had discussed the search for Obama’s birth certificate with Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie.

“Appeared to have given the impression??” He stated it clearly and unequivocally. You can hear the recording in this post I made a few days ago.

FOX reports further:

“Only this I can you tell you is 100 percent fact: that Neil never told me there was no birth certificate,” Evans told Fox News. “I never talked to him.”

So obviously Evans was either lying in his first radio broadcast or he’s lying now. There is no way he “misspoke” over something as critical as this. Evan’s narrative was that he was an old friend of Abercrombie and the Governor had been especially frank with him because of this friendship. He did not “mispeak”.

Something has caused him to retract his story and publicly humiliate himself as a liar. Wonder what caused this sudden reversal? I reckon the cops should check his phone records and see if there are any calls from known criminal elements in Chicago.

It should be noted that Evans does not change the essence of his claims, only the source. He still claims he was told the birth certificate does not exist and there is no proof that Obama was born in Hawaii. He has merely changed the source of this information from the Governor to “the Governor’s office”.

Waiver Mania!

Again I ask, If ObamaCare is so freaking great…………..

While the Democrats continued to extol Obamacare and the president defended the behemoth law during the Date of the Union, HHS was quietly presiding over a massive Obamacare Waiver-mania explosion.

When last we examined the growing list, privileged escapees topped 222.

Now: The list now at 729 — plus 4 states (Massachusetts, New Jersey, Ohio, and Tennesse).

Among the many new union refugees are 4 new SEIU locals :

-SEIU Health and Welfare fund, 2000 with 161 enrollees

-Service Employees 32BJ North Health Benefit Fund* representing 7,020 enrollees

-SEIU Local 300, Civil Service Forum Employees Welfare Fund representing 2,000 enrollees

-SEIU Health & Welfare Fund representing 1,620

This is in addition to the three other previous SEIU waiver winners: Local 25 SEIU in Chicago with 31,000 enrollees; Local 1199 SEIU Greater New York Benefit Fund with 4,544 enrollees; and SEIU Local 1 Cleveland Welfare Fund with 520 enrollees.

Which brings the total number of Obamacare-promoting SEIU Obamacare escapees to an estimated 45,000 workers represented by seven SEIU locals.

HHS puts the total number of union waiver recipients at 182:

A radical imam was captured in San Diego after he tried to sneak into the country in the trunk of a car.
LA Times Blog
reported:

U.S. border authorities have arrested a controversial Muslim cleric who was deported from Canada to Tunisia three years ago and was caught earlier this month trying to sneak into California inside the trunk of a BMW, according to court documents.

Said Jaziri, the former Imam of a Muslim congregation in Montreal, was hidden inside a car driven by a San Diego-area man who was pulled over by U.S. Border Patrol agents near an Indian casino east of San Diego. Jaziri allegedly paid a Tijuana-based smuggling group $5,000 to get him across the border near Tecate, saying he wanted to be taken to a “safe place anywhere in the U.S.”

The arrest marks the unexpected resurfacing of the 43-year-old cleric, whose protracted legal battle to avoid deportation drew headlines in Canada. A Tunisian immigrant, Jaziri was deported for failing to disclose a criminal conviction in France while applying for refugee status in the mid-1990s.

But Jaziri’s supporters said he was targeted for his fundamentalist views: Jaziri backed Sharia law for Canadian Muslims and led protests over the publication of the prophet Muhammad cartoons in a Danish newspaper in 2006.
