Quick Reminder: Obama Is Supporting Al-Qaeda Terrorists In Libya
Jihadis Who Killed Americans Get U.S. Support In Libya – Byron York
There’s no question that the rebels Americans are currently fighting for in Libya include in their ranks jihadis who in recent years traveled to Iraq and Afghanistan to kill Americans. The only question is whether that worries you or not.
Take Abdel-Hakim al-Hasidi, a leader of U.S.-supported rebels in the fighting for Adjabiya. His hometown, Darnah, has produced many jihadis, and after the Sept. 11 attacks al-Hasidi traveled to Afghanistan to fight the “foreign invasion” — that is, the U.S. military. According to a report in Britain’s Daily Telegraph, al-Hasidi says he was later captured in Pakistan, handed over to the U.S., then held in prison in Libya before being released in 2008.
In addition to fighting the U.S. in Afghanistan, al-Hasidi also says he recruited about two dozen men to fight the U.S. in Iraq.
Now al-Hasidi and his allies are moving toward Tripoli, which would not be possible without the military power of the United States. The men who devoted so much energy to killing Americans are now thankfully watching Americans kill for them.
………………
To some observers, that’s no big deal. “No one seems all that frightened by him,” the New York Times wrote of al-Hasidi after a visit to Darnah in early March. Al-Hasidi, the paper reported, “praises Osama bin Laden’s ‘good points’ but denounces the 9/11 attacks on the United States.” And besides, the Times reported, al-Hasidi finds it amusing that the government of Moammar Gadhafi considers him an al Qaeda terrorist. “He promised to lay down his arms once victory is won and return, he said, to teaching,” the Times reported.
Maybe you believe that. Maybe you don’t. The problem is, al-Hasidi is by no means alone. We know that from intelligence gained in the Iraq War.
During that war, American strategists became increasingly concerned by the number of foreign fighters who came to Iraq to take up arms against the U.S. In an October 2007 raid near Sinjar, Iraq, American forces captured a computer that had biographical information on about 700 foreign terrorists who had come to Iraq between August 2006 and August 2007. An analysis of the so-called “Sinjar documents” found that Libya sent more fighters to the Iraqi front than any other country except Saudi Arabia; Libyans accounted for nearly 20 percent of the foreign fighters in the Sinjar documents.
Some of those Libyans were from an al Qaeda-affiliated organization called the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group, whose membership reportedly included one Abdel-Hakim al-Hasidi. In 2004, then-CIA Director George Tenet named the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group part of the “next wave” of terrorism that could threaten U.S. security whether or not al Qaeda was destroyed.
So what should the United States do about Libyan fighters who went to Iraq to kill Americans? And Libyans who went to Afghanistan to kill Americans? And Libyans who recruited them and helped them with their travels? Should we be hunting those people down? Or should we be fighting on their behalf?
“It’s a real concern, there’s no ifs, ands or buts about it,” says Michael Rubin, a Middle East scholar at the conservative American Enterprise Institute. “The question for policymakers is, does that concern mean we should not be seeking change in those countries?” Rubin supports U.S. involvement in the Libyan war and believes the number of people like al-Hasidi is relatively small. “It’s not a reason not to support the rebels,” he says. “It is a reason not to arm them, or not to trust others to arm them.”
As for the jihadis who killed Americans in Iraq and Afghanistan, Rubin would like to see U.S. “hit teams” take care of them. But that, of course, would be way, way, way outside the United Nations Security Council Resolution that guides American actions in Libya. If the U.S.-led coalition prevails, it seems likely that some of the jihadis will choose not to return to lives as humble schoolteachers, as al-Hasidi claims, but instead become part of the new leadership of Libya.
There’s no way the U.S. can be involved in an action like the Libyan war without coming in contact with some pretty bad actors. That’s a good reason not to be involved in an action like the Libyan war. But even if involvement is an ugly necessity, do we have to give active support and protection to people who have devoted their lives to killing Americans?
Irony of the day, fat dictator launches anti-obesity campaign

How do you say “Let’s Move” in Spanish?
President Hugo Chavez urged Venezuelans on Sunday to cut their calories to avoid obesity — the latest lifestyle recommendation by the self-proclaimed socialist crusader.
Chavez has lobbied in recent weeks against what he calls the evils of capitalism, including alcoholism, breast implants and violent television programs.
“Be careful with weight gain!” warned Chavez on Sunday, speaking during his weekly television and radio program. “We are eating better, that’s been proven. We’re leaving malnutrition behind. It no longer exists in the country, but be careful with obesity.”
Chavez — who often dispenses advice to supporters during his marathon speeches — said he’d start a campaign to urge Venezuelans to consume less fatty foods and eat in a healthier fashion.
Update on Michelle Malkin’s cousin Marizela Perez

She is still missing, continue to pray for her and her family, the latest info from Michelle
It has now been 23 days since my cousin, 18-year-old University of Washington student Marizela Perez, disappeared in the Seattle area.
I wish I could tell you good news.
We have had a private investigator on the case the past week. Several leads have been followed. But Marizela is still missing. Our hearts ache for Emem and her parents, Edgar and Jasmin, who have not rested one moment in their efforts to find her. Marizela’s loved ones continue to spread the word and spread her spirit in her South Jersey hometown of Egg Harbor Township, NJ, in her home away from home in Seattle, WA, in her parents’ native homeland in the Philippines, and across our great country where so many friends and volunteers have kept Marizela’s case in the public eye.
Marizela’s friend Brianna Price went to school with her in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. Brianna teamed up with Elizabeth (Beth) Janansky and Lydia Chong to make and sell bracelets to support the search for Marizela. They are orange “for Marizela’s favorite color” and include the Tagalog phrase from her tattoo — “lahat ay magiging maayos.” (“All will be well” or “Everything’s going to be okay.”)
You can order bracelets for $5 each (all proceeds go to Marizela’s family for the search) from Brianna.
E-mail her at dragunsangel-@-aol.com and put “MARIZELA” in the subject line.
Brianna writes that Marizela’s South Jersey friends will also be holding a fund-raising event on April 8 at Egg Harbor Township High School’s lower cafeteria where the bracelets will be sold:
“I am working alongside the Egg Harbor Township High School’s Drama Club/Thespians Honor Society, Key Club, Art Club, Latin Club, Choir, Dance, and many teachers and graduates to put together a Coffee House performance night. This event is on Friday, April 8th. Doors open at 7:30. Admission is $5.00 and we will be selling wristbands there as well. The link to the event page on facebook is http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=306349&id=613401648&saved#!/event.php?eid=203738876322949.”

The EU, for wanting ban cars in European cities by 2050 to “save Mother Earth”!
(Telegraph) — Cars will be banned from London and all other cities across Europe under a draconian EU masterplan to cut CO2 emissions by 60 per cent over the next 40 years.
The European Commission on Monday unveiled a “single European transport area” aimed at enforcing “a profound shift in transport patterns for passengers” by 2050. . . .
Top of the EU’s list to cut climate change emissions is a target of “zero” for the number of petrol and diesel-driven cars and lorries in the EU’s future cities.
Siim Kallas, the EU transport commission, insisted that Brussels directives and new taxation of fuel would be used to force people out of their cars and onto “alternative” means of transport.
“That means no more conventionally fuelled cars in our city centres,” he said. “Action will follow, legislation, real action to change behaviour.”

Is the NAACP branching out into the “Islamophobia” fear-mongering racket?
Well, we know the NAACP has mastered the Race Card scam market, so why not expand their race pimping into Islamphobe pimping now? Here is the story
MANSFIELD — A Mansfield North Central Ohio Tea Party Association event featuring a speaker on radical Islam will go on at 7 p.m. today as planned, but in a different location.
Usama Dakdok will speak at Premier Office Complex, 1456 Park Avenue West, Suite J. Attendees are advised to bring lawn chairs.
The group had planned to meet at its usual location at the high school until this morning, when Mansfield City Schools Superintendent Dan Freund, citing safety concerns, withdrew permission for the group to meet there.
Speaking at a 10:30 a.m. press conference at the school’s central office, 856 W. Cook Road, Freund said that, after consulting with Mansfield City Police, the school decided it could not guarantee public safety at a Mansfield North Central Ohio Tea Party Association event scheduled for 7 p.m.
In his comments, Freund said the district’s decision was prompted by safety concerns and not by the presumed content of the scheduled speaker’s message.
The Mansfield Branch of NAACP followed with a press conference of their own at 11 a.m.
Shortly after 7:30 a.m. today, the NAACP announced it would hold a joint press conference at 11 a.m. to ask the Mansfield City Schools Board of Education and superintendent to withdraw permission for the tea party meeting tonight. Around 10 a.m., the superintendent’s office annnounced a press conference for 10:30 a.m.
According to a press release issued this morning, NAACP will be joined at the 11 a.m. press conference by representatives from the Council on American-Islamic Relations, Mansfield Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance and other civic community leaders.
The NAACP press release states: “We must stand together as a community and realize there exists many, diverse cultures in America. We as Americans have a right to choose whatever religion we wish to follow. It is our country’s diversity which has made us a nation rich in cultural experience and our children have a right to know that whatever faith they choose to follow, that they will not be judged by their color or religion, but by the content of their character.”
Note the NAACP plays the “Diversity Card” yet tries to silence certain speech it deems unfit for inclusion in their game of “diversity”! The NAACP has devolved into afar Left group, and that they would whore themselves out to CAIR, an UNINDICTED CO-CONSPIRATOR in a Hamas funding case is not surprising
Along with the Islamic Society of North America and the North American Islamic Trust.
At last the truth is coming out about CAIR. Maybe now the mainstream media will stop treating it as a moderate group, although the FBI seems determined to keep its blinkers on.
“Islamic Groups Named in Hamas Funding Case,” by Josh Gerstein of the New York Sun:
Federal prosecutors have named three prominent Islamic organizations in America as participants in an alleged criminal conspiracy to support a Palestinian Arab terrorist group, Hamas.
Prosecutors applied the label of “unindicted co-conspirator” to the Council on American-Islamic Relations, the Islamic Society of North America, and the North American Islamic Trust in connection with a trial planned in Texas next month for five officials of a defunct charity, the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development.
While the foundation was charged in the case, which was filed in 2004, none of the other groups was. However, the co-conspirator designation could be a blow to the credibility of the national Islamic organizations, which often work hand-in-hand with government officials engaged in outreach to the Muslim community.
A court filing by the government last week listed the three prominent groups among about 300 individuals or entities named as co-conspirators. The document gave scant details, but prosecutors described CAIR as a present or past member of “the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood’s Palestine Committee and/or its organizations.” The government listed the Islamic Society of North America and the North American Islamic Trust as “entities who are and/or were members of the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood.”
The secretary-general of the Islamic Society of North America, Muneer Fareed, said his group was surprised to be named in the Texas case. “I can tell you categorically that the current administration of ISNA, as well as its stakeholders, they have no connection to my knowledge with any Holy Land foundations,” he said.
Mr. Fareed denied his group has any ties to Hamas, though he said it is difficult to police all 300 mosques under his umbrella. “We might have a kid whose dad was president of Hamas for all I know,” he said. “How do you verify these things?”
AS I said, the NAACP has now whored itself out to a group that has ties to terrorist groups? That is indeed how far the NAACP has fallen.
Globalist Obama Now Allowing US Military To Be “Volunteered By Others” For International Work
This ought to make the hair stand up on the back of your neck…
Barack Obama is now allowing the US military to be “voluteered by others” to do dangerous service work for the international community.
It’s not clear where in the US Constitution he found this.
Ed Driscoll posted this from an Obama interview in El Salvador:
And that’s why building this international coalition has been so important because it means that the United States is not bearing all the cost. It means that we have confidence that we are not going in alone, and it is our military that is being volunteered by others to carry out missions that are important not only to us, but are important internationally. And we will accomplish that in a relatively short period of time.
Ace added this on today’s stunning admission by our new age Commander in Chief:
Obama seems to be such a believer in the extra-constitutional, or, more accurately, anti-constitutional view that it is the “international community,” whatever that is, that confers constitutional legality in matters of war rather than the body of Americans actually granted such power in the great national charter that he feels no need to pay even token, false lip service to the contrary position.
If Obama merely meant “We seek no empire, and come to this fight reluctantly, only at the request of foreign allies,” well, he could have said that.
Implicit in the words this rara avis literary genius actually chose is the idea that foreign citizens have a more important role in determining America’s status of “at peace” or “at war” than American citizens.
“Just words”? Obama himself gave many speeches, written for him by David Axelrod and previously used by Axelrod-client and Obama proof-of-concept prototype Devall Patrick, that words are not “just words” but full of crucial meaning.

Man Jailed After Sneaking Into High School Locker Room, Masturbating On Boys’ Underwear
John Gallagher, a 19-year-old Missouri man was jailed after he allegedly broke into his former high school and then masturbated on underwear he had taken from several boys’ gym lockers.
According to police, an investigation was launched after two students reported chasing a suspicious person from the boys’ locker room in the early morning hours before the school day began.
One student told police he found a used condom tied to a shoe in his locker, but didn’t report it because he thought the incident was probably just a harmless prank.

After checking the school’s surveillance video system, investigators learned that an authorized person entered the school 11 times between Jan. 27 and March 23 wearing a FedEx uniform. Gallagher was eventually identified as the suspect seen in the video.
Investigators say Gallagher entered the school through an unlocked window and then proceeded into both the boys’ and girls’ locker rooms. He then allegedly removed underwear from the boys’ lockers, placed them on the floor and proceeded to masturbate on them. The underwear was then placed back into an unused locker.
During a police interview, Gallagher reportedly admitted to sneaking into the school through a concession stand window. He told police he knew about the window because he had previously attended the school. He admitted to masturbating on underwear from the boys’ locker room, but stated that he had no intention of hurting anyone.
He also reportedly told police that he committed the acts in retaliation because he had been bullied while attending the school as a student.
Gallagher was booked into the Platte County Jail and charged with second-degree burglary. His bond was set at $5,000.

High-Level Radiation Detected In Trench Outside No. 2 Reactor Building – Japan Today
High levels of radiation exceeding 1,000 millisieverts per hour were found in water in a trench outside the No. 2 reactor’s turbine building at the troubled nuclear power plant in Fukushima on Sunday afternoon, Tokyo Electric Power Co (TEPCO) said Monday.

One end of the tunnel-like trench is located about 55 meters from the shore, with the surface of the water staying about 1 meter below its ground-level hole. But no trace has been confirmed of the contaminated water having flowed into the sea, an official of the company said.
Similarly high levels of radioactivity have been found in a pool of water in the basement of the turbine building for the No. 2 reactor at the Fukushima Daiichi complex, raising concerns that radioactive substances may have seeped into the environment, including the sea nearby.
The level of radiation at a similar trench for the No. 1 reactor was 0.4 millisievert per hour, the utility company said, adding that radiation could not be measured at a similar location for the No. 3 unit due to difficulty getting there.
On Monday, workers resumed the laborious yet urgent task of pumping out the hundreds of tons of radioactive water inside several buildings at the six-unit plant. The water must be removed and safely stored before work can continue to power up the plant’s regular cooling system, nuclear safety officials said.
Contaminated water in No. 2 reactor tested at radiation levels some 100,000 times normal amounts, plant operator Tokyo Electric Power Co (TEPCO) said.
As officials scrambled to determine the source of the radioactive water, chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano said Monday that the contaminated water in No. 2 appeared to be due to a partial meltdown of the reactor core.
A TEPCO spokesman said the presence of radioactive chemicals such as iodine and cesium point to damaged fuel rods as the source. However, pressure inside the containers holding the reactors was stable, indicating any meltdown was only partial, spokesman Kaoru Yoshida said.
New readings show contamination in the ocean has spread about 1.6 kilometers farther north of the nuclear site than before. Radioactive iodine-131 was discovered just offshore from Nos. 5 and 6 reactors at a level 1,150 times higher than normal, Hidehiko Nishiyama, a spokesman for the Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency, told reporters.
He had said earlier there was no link between the radioactive water leaking inside the plant and the radiation in the sea. On Monday, though, Nishiyama said he suspects radioactive water from the plant is leaking into the ocean.
Closer to the plant, radioactivity in seawater tested about 1,250 times higher than normal last week and climbed to 1,850 times normal over the weekend. Nishiyama said the increase was a concern but the area was not a source of seafood.
TEPCO officials said Sunday that radiation in leaking water in the Unit 2 reactor was 10 million times above normal – an apparent spike that sent employees fleeing the unit. The day ended with officials saying the huge figure had been miscalculated and offering apologies.
“The number is not credible,” TEPCO spokesman Takashi Kurita said hours later. “We are very sorry.”
Then, TEPCO Vice President Sakae Muto said a new test had found radiation levels 100,000 times above normal – far better than the first results, though still very high.

TEPCO Says Damage Possible To Reactor Pressure Containers – Asahi Shimbun
Tokyo Electric Power Co. acknowledged for the first time possible damage to core pressure containers at the crippled Fukushima nuclear plant–the last line of defense in preventing radioactive materials from spewing out.
.
.
TEPCO officials told reporters Monday morning that despite the continuous pumping in of water to cool down the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 reactor cores, water levels were not rising as expected, meaning the pressure containers may not be completely sealed off.
The water, which is believed to be mixing with radioactive materials from the fuel rods within, is likely leaking from the pressure containers, they said.
The tsunami that hit the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant after the March 11 Great East Japan Earthquake knocked out the emergency generators at the three reactors. The systems that circulate water within the pressure containers to cool the fuel rods also stopped working.
Workers have been pumping in water through pipes to the pressure container to submerge the fuel rods and directly cool the decay heat that continues to be emitted even after the reactors were stopped.
But the water level meters for the three reactors have not risen as expected.
TEPCO officials said a possible reason the water levels were not rising sufficiently were breaches in the lower part of the pressure containers. They said they did not know what caused the possible damage.
A pressure container holds nuclear fuel pellets placed in metal rods that have been bundled together. A containment vessel, located within the building housing the reactor, surrounds the pressure container.
The pressure containers at the Fukushima plant are made of steel 16 centimeters thick. The lower part of the containers have openings for measuring and other equipment. Water may be leaking from around those parts, the officials said.
TEPCO has cited the possibility that fuel rods may have been damaged due to overheating after being exposed above the water’s surface in the core.
According to experts, if the fuel rods are damaged and crumble, the melted fuel could fall and accumulate into a lump at the bottom of the pressure container. In that scenario, it would be more difficult to cool because of the fuel’s larger surface area. The experts also said damaged fuel rods could have reached high temperatures that melted the walls of the pressure container.
However, TEPCO officials said major structural damage was unlikely and the soundness of the pressure container has probably been maintained because the pressure within the container remains at higher levels than the outside atmosphere.

Radioactive water found in the turbine buildings of two of the reactors at the quake- and tsunami-hit Fukushima No. 1 Nuclear Power Plant cannot be drained off because their condensers are already filled with water, it has emerged.

Water containing high levels of radiation has been found in the turbine buildings of the plant’s No. 1 to 3 reactors.
The plant’s operator, Tokyo Electric Power Co. (TEPCO), had intended to drain the radioactive water into their condensers. However, the condensers of the No. 2 and 3 reactors are almost filled to capacity with water, company sources said.
Therefore, TEPCO is considering moving the water in the condensers to other locations to make room for the radioactive water.
To that end, however, temporary pumps need to be installed on the condensers, causing further delay in the ongoing work to restore power sources to cool down the reactors.
Condensers use seawater to cool down the steam used to drive the turbines. The condenser of the No. 1 reactor can contain 1,600 tons of water while those of the No. 2 and 3 reactors can hold 3,000 tons each.
Since there was enough room in the No. 1 reactor’s condenser, TEPCO began on March 25 to drain radioactive water into it using its sole pump. The company installed two additional pumps to the condenser on March 27 in a bid to speed up the process.
As for the reasons why the condensers of the No. 2 and 3 reactors are filled with water, TEPCO explains that power supply was cut off to the pump used to drain water from the condensers after the reactors came to a sudden halt.
TEPCO officials are now considering draining the radioactive water into the reactors’ condensation tanks, each with a capacity of over 2,000 tons, which are separate from the condensers.
In a related development, the spent nuclear fuel pools of two of the reactors appear to have been filled with water, TEPCO officials said.
The company confirmed that the levels of the additional tanks attached to the pools of No. 2 and 4 reactors rose on March 25 and 27, respectively, to full capacity.
Additional tanks are attached to the spent fuel pools to hold any spilled water. Since batteries in the central control room of the plant were restored, the company can now measure the amounts of water in the tanks. TEPCO had been injecting water into the pools of the No. 2 and 4 reactors.
All fuel including spent fuel is in the pool of the No. 4 reactor and no fuel is in the reactor’s main unit since it was undergoing a regular checkup at the time of the temblor.
“If the additional tank of the No. 4 reactor is confirmed to be full, the reactor will be safe for now,” a TEPCO official said.

Radioactive Water Keeps Workers Out – Japan Times
Reactor turbine basements flooded with highly radioactive materials kept a desperate effort to stabilize the Fukushima No. 1 power plant at bay on Monday, as fresh data showed that nearby seawater was being contaminated further by leaks from the facility.
.
.
Efforts by Tokyo Electric Power Co. to restore the cooling systems for reactors No. 1 through 4, as well as their spent-fuel storage pools, continue to be halted by the highly radioactive flooding of the reactors’ turbine building basements.
Experts now say it is hard to predict how long it will take to end the nuclear crisis.
Michiaki Furukawa, a board member of the nonprofit organization Citizens’ Nuclear Information Center, said it may take even a month to pump out the toxic water, restore damaged cooling facilities and bring the nuclear reactors under control to end the crisis, which started with the March 11 earthquake and tsunami.
Eventually, the plant may need to be encased in concrete, like Chernobyl was, he said.
“Under that high amount of radiation, workers can probably work only up to 10 minutes at a time,” said Furukawa, a professor emeritus on nuclear energy at Nagoya University.
But even if the radiation-polluted water is pumped out, its storage and disposal will remain a problem, he said.
“Water, or liquid, with high radiation can leak or spill. It’s unstable,” he said. “It’s better to solidify it, but even then it is still problematic.”
At a news conference early Monday, Tepco said “the pipes of the pressure vessel and other components” might have been damaged and developed holes from which the water presumably exited the pressure vessel.
The National and Industrial Safety Agency, however, said later in the day it believes “the possibility is very low that there are some holes in the pressure vessel” itself.
Although it is unknown how much water has accumulated in each basement, Tepco said the maximum depth was 40 cm in the No. 1 reactor turbine building, 1 meter in that of reactor No. 2, 20 cm to 1.5 meters in No. 3, and 80 cm in No. 4.
Tepco needs to pump the toxic water into a container on the ground floor before it can resume repair work. But since that container is full, the utility has to route it to a separate tank.
Afterward, workers hope to scrub the basement to lower the radiation.
Although water in the No. 1 turbine building has been pumped into a condenser tank, Tepco has not yet come up with ways to remove the flooding at the other three turbine buildings.

How bout some love for VCU?
The Rams just keep on winning, and winning, and now they are in the Final Four. And their next opponent Butler, is in for a fight. Odd that Butler has become famous for being the Cinderella team, and now, they will be the established power facing a Cinderella team.
SAN ANTONIO — Move over, Butler. Virginia Commonwealth is crashing the Final Four.
The 11th-seeded Rams, who didn’t even bother watching the NCAA tournament selection show, are heading to Houston, and final No. 1 seed Kansas is heading home after a spectacular collapse.Jamie Skeen scored 26 points as the Rams delivered the biggest upset of the NCAA tournament, shocking the Jayhawks 71-61 on Sunday to become just the third 11th seed to ever make the Final Four.So doubtful were the Rams of even making the tournament that they watched the Cartoon Network and went out for fast food instead of watching the selection show two weeks ago. Now, they’re Houston-bound after an incredible takedown of the last No. 1 seed.”Those people (the doubters) don’t matter,” VCU coach Shaka Smart said. “The only people that matter is the 14 guys on our team, and they never stopped believing.”
I usually pull for the underdogs in the tourney, and I am impressed with VCU, they are for real, and since Butler knocked off my Gators, or, to be more honest, my Gators choked just enough to lose to Butler, I hope VCU wins the war of the underdogs! In fact I hope they win the whole damn thing!
GO RAMS!
