Your DaleyGator Inspirational Quote Of The Week

“You are being called upon as sovereign citizens of the United States to rectify, guide and improve your servant government in Washington, and you will. And when you do, twenty years from now the next generation of free Americans will thank you, and they will remember the words of the poet, Rupert Brooke, who said: Now, God be thanked who has matched us with His hour, and caught our youth, and wakened us from sleeping.” – Congressman Thaddeus McCotter

Violence In London As 500,000 Leftists Protest Against Government Cuts – Sky News

Violent leftists smashed windows, lit fires and attempted to occupy shops in central London – as hundreds of thousands of people marched against government cuts.

Anti-capitalists and anarchists attacked branches of HSBC, Lloyds and Santander banks as well as McDonalds, Topshop and Dorothy Perkins.

The windows of the Ritz hotel and an Ann Summers store in Soho were smashed and more 75 people were arrested.

Light bulbs filled with ammonia and paint bombs were thrown in Oxford Street, police said.Scuffles broke out as riot police attempted to section off the protesters.

Meanwhile, a group calling itself UK Uncut occupied the department store Fortnum and Mason over what it described as its parent comany’s ” 40m tax dodge.”

The protesters were eventually led from the store one by one, in handcuffs, by police officers.

In Picadilly protesters continued to smash the fronts of banks, wrecking cashpoints as night fell. Police began charging protesters after fires were started in the streets.

However, the majority of the demonstration – dubbed the “March for the Alternative” – was peaceful with organisers claiming up to 500,000 people had taken part.

Police commander Bob Broadhurst said about 500 “criminals”, who had nothing to do with the march organised by the Trade Union Congress, were responsible for the violence.

The Met Police added that four police officers had been injured, one of whom had been taken to hospital, and that 75 arrests had been made for criminal damage and public order offences.

Policing minister Nick Herbert said the main TUC rally had been a “testament to the British model of policing” but condemned the violence as “completely unacceptable.”

Sky’s Mark White in Oxford Street said: “There are a lot of protesters here who have come from different areas of central London where they have been taking part in fairly radical and sporadic action outside various stores.

“Its all about trying to stay one step of the police, give them the run around and try and cause as much mayhem as possible.

“There are certainly enough police officers in the side streets should the situation develop but remember there are lots of members of the public around here as well.”

Sally Mason, a UK Uncut supporter from Manchester who took part in occupying Fortnum & Mason said the group had chosen “civil disobedient action” because they were not “just going to march from A to B and be ignored.”

“We are not all in this together – the government, big business such as ABF, banking sector and the wealthy who shop here are in it together and are choosing to make everyone else pay the price for the banks greed and wreckless gambling.”

The march – the biggest union-organised event for more than 20 years and the largest in the country since the anti-Iraq war march in 2003 – set off early from Embankment because of the huge number of protesters.

“This is an absolutely incredible turnout and display of anger which the Government will have to take notice of,” Len McCluskey, the general secretary of the Unite union, said.

The protesters brought central London to a standstill, waving banners and blowing vuvuzelas. Steel bands, choirs, performers and dancers performed during the march.

TUC head of economic affairs Nicola smith said the marchers were “trade union members, but also public sector workers, pensioners, people from a whole range of community groups, people with their families, all joining together to send a message to the Government that there is an alternative.”

“The alternative is a deficit reduction strategy that focuses on growth and the role that tax can play in making sure our public finances are put on a sustainable footing.”

Labour leader Ed Miliband told a rally in Hyde Park: “Our struggle is to fight to preserve, protect and defend the things we value.

“The Government will say this is a march of the minority. They are so wrong. David Cameron you want to create a Big Society, this is the Big Society. The Big Society united against what your government is doing to our society.”

More than 600 coaches and dozens of trains brought people to the capital, with many more unable to get to London because of the massive demand for transport.

Unite’s Len McCluskey said those taking part in the march were the “tip of the iceberg” because millions were opposed to the Government’s cuts in public spending.

“There is growing anger, which will build and build as the impact of the cuts take effect,” said Mr McCluskey, who warned of more demonstrations and possible co-ordinated strikes in the coming months.

An opinion poll suggested that most people sympathise with the TUC’s stance. Asked by YouGov whether they supported or opposed today’s march, 52% said they supported it, 31% opposed it, while 17% said they did not know. Perhaps surprisingly, 19% of Conservative voters said they supported the march.

Cabinet Office minister Francis Maude told Sky News that the Government was already “actively engaging” with the TUC over many of the issues being highlighted at the march.

“There are six million public sector workers and a lot of them will obviously be worried about the effect of cuts,” he said.

“What we are doing is trying to protect jobs as best we can, putting in place lots of controls, we’re taking out the overhead costs of government, we’re squeezing suppliers, we’re coming out of property.”

The police operation will be closely scrutinised after criticism of the handling of previous demonstrations.

When student protests turned violent before Christmas, the policy of “kettling” – or containing protesters in a confined space to stop trouble spreading – was called into question.

Director of policy Isabella Sankey told Sky News: “We are going to be observing what police are doing and then we are going to be calling it as we see it.

“The police have all sorts of powers at there disposal… and we’ve seen that peaceful protest has been undermined by misuse and abuse of those powers.”

The march comes three days after the Budget, in which the Chancellor underlined the Government’s determination to tackle the deficit.

Geraldine Ferraro RIP

Sad news today, the first woman to be nominated for VP has died at 75.

Geraldine A. Ferraro, who earned a place in history in 1984 as the first woman to run on a major party national ticket for vice president, has died.  She was 75-years-old.

Ferraro, who was born in Newburgh, New York, passed away today at Massachusetts General Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones, a statement from her family read.

The cause of death was complications from multiple myeloma, a blood cancer that she had battled for twelve years, her family said.

Geraldine Anne Ferraro Zaccaro earned a place in history as the first woman and first Italian-American to run on a major party national ticket, serving as Walter Mondale’s Vice Presidential running mate in 1984 on the Democratic Party ticket.

Holder Ignores Demands For NAACP-Influence Data

Holder Ignores Demands For NAACP-Influence Data – WorldNetDaily

A lawsuit has been filed against President Obama’s Justice Department for refusing to release details about how agency officials decided to abandon a voter intimidation case that staff members had brought – and won – against members of the New Black Panther Party.

The lawsuit was filed by Judicial Watch, the public interest organization that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, over a refusal by the federal agency to provide information about the decision.

At issue in the case is whether the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People “improperly influenced” the Justice Department, the nation’s highest law enforcement agency, “to drop a lawsuit against members of the Black Panthers who allegedly threatened and intimidated white voters outside a polling station during the 2008 election.”

Because Kristen Clark, of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, reportedly met with Justice Department officials to discuss the case just before the agency announced plans to dismiss the action, questions arose about the influence that may have been exerted.

Judicial Watch in November 2010 filed a Freedom of Information Act request seeking records of communications between the agency’s Civil Rights Division and the NAACP. Under federal requirements, Attorney General Eric Holder’s agency was supposed to have responded by Dec. 3, 2010.

“However, to date, no documents have been produced,” the Judicial Watch announcement said.

“Who is running the Justice Department? That is what we’re trying to find out with this lawsuit. I find it outrageous that leftist special interest groups seem to be directing the activities of the nation’s top law enforcement agency,” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said in a prepared statement about the case.

“The Obama Justice Department has made a mess of the Black Panther lawsuit. We already know the Justice Department’s decision to drop the case was tainted by politics and racism. There is something amiss in the Holder Justice Department. And its casual violations of the freedom of information law highlight this administration’s contempt for transparency and the rule of law.”

According to the lawsuit, “As of the date of this complaint, defendant has failed to produce any records responsive to the request or demonstrate that responsive records are exempt from production. Nor has it indicated whether or when any responsive records will be produced. In fact, defendant has failed to respond to the request in any manner.”

WND previously reported on the Philadelphia case, which was documented on video.

.

.
The Justice Department originally brought the case against the organization and several individuals who witnesses say derided voters with catcalls of “white devil” and “cracker” and told voters they should prepare to be “ruled by the black man.”

One poll watcher called police after he reportedly saw one of the men brandishing a nightstick to threaten voters.

“As I walked up, they closed ranks, next to each other,” the witness told Fox News at the time. “So I walked directly in between them, went inside and found the poll watchers. They said they’d been here for about an hour. And they told us not to come outside because a black man is going to win this election no matter what.”

He said the man with a nightstick told him, “‘We’re tired of white supremacy,’ and he starts tapping the nightstick in his hand. At which point I said, ‘OK, we’re not going to get in a fistfight right here,’ and I called the police.”

Subsequently, former DOJ attorney J. Christian Adams testified before the U.S. Civil Rights Commission that the Voting Section of Holder’s organization is dominated by a “culture of hostility” toward bringing cases against blacks and other minorities who violate voting-rights laws.

Further, two other former U.S. Department of Justice attorneys later corroborated key elements of the explosive allegations by Adams.

One of Adams’ DOJ colleagues, former Voting Section trial attorney Hans A. von Spakovsky, told WND he saw Adams was being attacked in the media for lack of corroboration. He said he knew Adams was telling the truth, so he decided on his own to step forward.

It was Adams who had been ordered by his superiors to drop a case prosecutors already had won against the New Black Panthers. When they were ordered to stop prosecution, Adams and the team of DOJ lawyers had already won the case by default because the New Black Panthers declined to defend themselves in court. At that point in the proceedings, the DOJ team was simply waiting for the judge to assign penalties against the New Black Panthers.

The latest FOIA action is part of Judicial Watch’s comprehensive investigation of the New Black Panther Party scandal. It previously found information that top political appointees played key roles in the decision to dismiss the case.

That information “directly contradict[s] sworn testimony by Thomas Perez, assistant attorney general for the Civil Rights Division, who testified before the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights that no political leadership was involved in the decision,” Judicial Watch said.

Leftist Democrats Driving Caterpillar Out Of Illinois

Leftist Democrats Driving Caterpillar Out Of Illinois – Pantagraph

The chairman and CEO of Peoria-based Caterpillar Inc. is raising the specter of moving the heavy equipment maker out of Illinois.

In a letter sent March 21 to Gov. Pat Quinn, Caterpillar chief executive officer Doug Oberhelman said officials in at least four other states have approached the company about relocating since Illinois raised its income tax in January.

“I want to stay here. But as the leader of this business, I have to do what’s right for Caterpillar when making decisions about where to invest,” Oberhelman wrote in the letter obtained Friday by the Lee Enterprises Springfield bureau. “The direction that this state is headed in is not favorable to business and I’d like to work with you to change that.”

Oberhelman said he’s being actively courted to move.

“I have been called, ‘cornered’ in meetings and ‘wined and dined’ — the heat is on,” Oberhelman wrote. “Before, I never really considered living anywhere else and certainly never considered the possibility of Caterpillar relocating. But I have to admit, the policymakers in Springfield seem to make it harder by the day.”

Cat spokesman Jim Dugan said the letter was designed to show Quinn that Oberhelman wants to be involved in finding solutions that benefit the company, which employs 23,000 people in Illinois.

“I view it as an olive branch to offer our help,” Dugan said.

Quinn plans on discussing the letter with Oberhelman April 5 when the two meet at a conference in Peoria. The governor also plans on touring Caterpillar facilities at that time, spokeswoman Brie Callahan said Friday.

“The governor welcomes frank and open exchanges between the business community and government, and we are always open to new ideas that can help our businesses grow, innovate and create jobs,” Callahan said.

Oberhelman didn’t single out any specific problem with the state’s policies in his one-page letter, but Dugan said the recent income tax increase — signed into law by Quinn in January — played a significant role in triggering the note.

The tax hike has led to attempts by other states, including Wisconsin, Indiana and New Jersey, to try and poach companies that don’t want to stay in the Land of Lincoln.

Oberhelman also sent along correspondence Cat has received from other states.

“I stand ready to help convince you to relocate or expand in the fiscally conservative, low-tax Lone Star State,” wrote Texas Gov. Rick Perry in a Jan. 24 letter.

“I encourage you to consider South Dakota as a place for your business to grow and prosper,” noted J. Pat Costello, secretary of the South Dakota governor’s economic development office.

Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman wrote in February to say, “In Nebraska, we balance our budget by controlling spending, not by raising taxes.”

Republican leaders, who unsuccessfully fought Quinn on the tax hike, say the letter confirms why they were opposed to the increase.

“These are the kinds of letters we fear,” said Patty Schuh, spokeswoman for Senate Minority Leader Christine Radogno, R-Lemont. “Even more worrisome are the hundreds of businesses being wooed that we don’t know about.”

Schuh said the tax hike and the state’s worker compensation costs on businesses “make Illinois a hostile environment, prime for the picking.”

Your WTF moment of the day!

You are not gonna believe THIS!

The countdown to 500,000 is on!

The DaleyGator just passed 499,000 hits, and now, the final march top 500,000 is on! So, come on kids, help get the word out!

DaleyGator DaleyBabe

I actually featured Natasha Yi not long ago, but I found these videos, WOW!

Rumors confirmed! Formerly relevant blogger IS still on the Internet!

That former relevant blogger, now just another Leftist douchebag with an over-inflated sense of self-importance is Charles Johnson. Stacy McCain wanted to remind us that Johnson IS, indeed STILL on the net, and that he is STILL, a fool!

Excuse me for reminding you that Charles Johnson is still on the Internet. He hasn’t done anything useful in so long, you might not realize he used to be somebody important.

Here is what Chuckles posted about Michelle Bachman, who he hates because she is smarter, and far more relevant than he is

Your Liberal mocking fun for a Friday!

Oh those tricky Libs! Their ideology is one of convenience, as Verum Serum notes with this cool video!

VIDEO* Steven Crowder on good violence!

Yes I said GOOD VIOLENCE! Crowder explains!

Is Syria next Mr. President?

The Real Revo poses the obvious question about the vaunted Obama Doctrine!

Attacking Arab dictators who kill their own people is the Obama Doctrine, right?

Witnesses say Syrian troops have opened fire on anti-government protesters in Daraa Friday as thousands take to the streets demanding reforms and mourning dozens of protesters who were killed during a violent, weeklong crackdown.

Well Mr. President?

Your Blog of the Day is

Cold Fury, because of awesome posts like this one.

Myself, I’m an advocate of what I’ll call the Beck Doctrine, since it was Billy who first codified it: pulverize any nation that foments, supports, trains, equips, or finances terrorists and points them our way, with or without international “support” and useless coalitions of the unwilling. Then have the last American soldier leaving the smoking debris field put up a big sign amidst the rubble: Don’t make us come back here again.

To hell with nation-building for ingrate savages who lack the ability to understand what freedom really is; who actually oppose it with every fiber of their being; and are going to hate us no matter what we do, because we have no intention of embracing their hateful totalitarian system masquerading as a “religion.” And to hell with starry-eyed Western adolescents whose hopeful delusions about a phony “Arab Spring” preclude them from seeing the Islamist monster standing behind the protests and rebellion in the Middle East, ready to rip any attempt at real modernization of their dysfunctional, atavistic societies to bloody tatters.

Like I have said before, my foreign policy would be “Speak softly, have the biggest stick, and when you use the stick, use it with such devastating force that no nation would ever even wish to contemplate screwing with America or our allies!!

Ah, the aftershock of Liberal government!

One of the most destructive forces known to man is unchecked liberalism, just check out what it did for to Detroit! Check out what Mike Brownfield found.

What happens when a city buys the liberal dream hook, line and sinker? Just take a look at the City of Detroit. The once-great city lost 237,493 residents over the last decade according to the 2010 Census, bringing it to 713,777 – a population plunge of 25%. That’s its lowest population since 1910, and it marks the city’s fall from a 1950s peak of two million, over 60%. And that’s just the people who can afford to leave.

Detroit, once known as “the great arsenal of democracy,” has made headlines of late for its notorious fall from grace. The “Big Three” automakers are no longer the biggest, falling behind their overseas rivals, and the Michigan economy lost 450,000 manufacturing jobs over the past 10 years all while Detroit lost population. And while the Motor City suffers unemployment from a decimated automotive industry, it suffers crime, high taxes, poor city services, plummeting home values, and a public education system in shambles with a $327 million budget deficit and a 19 percent dropout rate. Is it any wonder people are leaving in droves?

But to understand why folks are really leaving Detroit, it’s worth looking where they’re headed. As Detroit suffered a population loss, its neighboring suburban counties with lower crime, better schools and an improving economic outlook saw their population increase. One former Detroiter told The Detroit News, “Detroit just got too messy for me … I was not getting the benefits of those tax dollars. The city services are poor and I could not use the school system. And you look at the cost of living and the corruption, we had to leave.” In other words, bad government drove her out, and she’s seeking greener pastures elsewhere.

For the record, Detroit has been under liberal leadership for decades. And the city’s big problem today is that its road forward is blocked by the very same political machine that helped deliver it to its state of ruin. Case in point: the state’s powerful teachers unions. In 2003, a philanthropist pledged $200 million for the creation of 15 charter schools in the city. Despite the city’s tragic public school system, the plan failed and the offer was withdrawn following protests by the Detroit Federation of Teachers. Little has changed, eight years later. A state-appointed emergency financial manager has proposed sweeping changes to the city’s public school system, including a plan to convert 41 of the city’s schools to charter schools. Guess who’s opposed to the reforms? That very same union.

Yes, and for further evidence of just how devastating Liberalism can be, when allowed to take root, look at what Milton Wolfe found, pictures really ARE worth a thousand words, at least!
