How long until we just admit that our President wants to destroy Israel?

Flag of Israel with the Mediterranean sea in t...

Image via Wikipedia

What else can we assume from actions like this?

(Guardian) — Barack Obama will seek a joint Middle East agreement with David Cameron, insisting that a Palestinian state should be based on pre-1967 borders — a proposal rejected by Israel’s prime minister as “unrealistic” and “indefensible”.

The issue will be raised in private talks between the two men during the state visit by Obama and his wife to London, only the third by a US president in 100 years. Afghanistan, Libya, relations with Pakistan and the global economy — as well as the vacancy for the top job at the IMF — will also make up the agenda.

Despite the outright rejection by the Israeli premier, Binyamin Netanyahu, of a Palestinian state based on the borders that existed before the Six Day War, when Israel captured and occupied the West Bank and Gaza, Obama has already secured the political backing of the United Nations, European Union and Russia who, with America, are collectively known as the “quartet”.

Signalling his determination to keep up pressure on Israel, Obama will be looking to enlist the public support of the UK prime minister. The aim is, in large part, to persuade the Palestinian leadership not to go to the UN in September seeking symbolic backing for an independent state.

The coming meeting between the two men follows evidence of a hardening of criticism of Israel by London. On the eve of the Obamas’ arrival, Middle East minister Alistair Burt accused Israel of “unhelpful and destabilising activity” in announcing the building of 1,500 new settlement units in East Jerusalem ahead of a speech by the president on the Middle East on Friday.

He is actively seeking to pressure Israel into withdraw to borders that are indefensible. Borders that will offer much greater opportunities for Israel’s enemies to launch greater attacks upon it. He demands greater concessions from Israel, a nation that seeks only peace, and to be let alone. And who does he demand these concessions be made to? Terrorists that have been trying to destroy Israel for decades upon decades now. TERRORISTS! Terrorists that butcher innocent Israeli civilians at every opportunity!

I am sorry folks, but I can see nothing in all of this but a desire by our president to destroy Israel. Nothing but the betrayal of an old friend. Nothing but a president that apparently seeks to throw Israel to the wolves. And no, it is not only Conservatives who are outraged at the president’s course of action

Some prominent Jewish Americans are rethinking their support for President Barack Obama’s 2012 re-election bid after he effectively called on Israel to give back territory it has occupied since 1967 to Palestinians.

The backlash after Obama’s keynote speech on the Middle East has Democratic Party operatives scrambling to mollify the Jewish community as the president prepares to seek a second term in the White House.

“He has in effect sought to reduce Israel’s negotiation power and I condemn him for that,” former New York Mayor Ed Koch told Reuters. .

“I believed that then-Senator Obama would be as good as John McCain based on his statements at the time and based on his support of Israel. It turns out I was wrong,” he said.

Exit polls from the 2008 election showed 78 percent of Jewish voters chose Obama over his Republican rival Senator McCain.

“I have spoken to a lot of people in the last couple of days — former supporters — who are very upset and feel alienated,” billionaire real estate developer and publisher Mortimer Zuckerman said.

“He’ll get less political support, fewer activists for his campaign, and I am sure that will extend to financial support as well.”

Zuckerman backed Obama during his 2008 presidential run and the newspaper he owns, the New York Daily News, endorsed the president.

Democratic lawmakers do not get it either

Rep. Steve Rothman (D-N.J.) delivered a similar message, arguing that reverting the borders would only embolden Hamas to launch more attacks.

“A two-state solution agreed upon by the Israelis and Palestinians should be negotiated through direct talks,” Rothman said Friday in a statement, “but it is important to remember that a full return to the 1967 borders will be indefensible for Israel and that talking with terrorists who want to destroy Israel is a non-starter.”

Rep. Eliot Engel (D-N.Y.) echoed that sentiment, saying the 1967 borders “were simply not defensible, and Israel must not be made to return to them.”

“The President is correct that land swaps built into a peace agreement could make Israel’s borders safe and secure, but make no mistake about it – such territorial adjustments would be very significant so that Israel would no longer be 9 miles wide at its narrowest point.”

And the “International Community” is not all in agreement either

(Globe and Mail) — The Harper government is refusing to join the United States in calling for a return to 1967 borders as a starting point for Mideast peace, a position that has drawn sharp criticism from Canada’s staunch ally Israel.

At a briefing ahead of the upcoming G8 summit in France, federal officials said the basis for the negotiations must be mutually agreed upon.

Israel quickly rejected U.S. President Barack Obama’s proposal for the talks to be guided by the 1967 borders, with mutually agreed land swaps.

“What the government of Canada supports is basically a two-state solution that is negotiated,” a senior federal official said. “If it’s border, if it’s others issues, it has to be negotiated, it cannot be unilateral action.”

Pressed by reporters, federal officials said both the Israelis and the Palestinians have to decide on their bottom lines, which the Israelis have said will not include a return to the 1967 border.

So, what else is there left for us to assume. AGAIN, just like with our economy, we are confronted with this question. Is Obama really this stupid, or does he realize what he is doing? Alan Dershowitz has a definite opinion

As does Gene Simmons

No fucking clue indeed Mr. President!

Mavs hold off Thunder rally take series lead

My Dallas Mavericks jumped all over Oklahoma City Saturday night, building a 23-point lead then stifled a gallant comeback to grab a 2-1 series lead in the NBA Western Conference Finals

- Even when he is off his game, Dirk Nowitzki can still get the job done as the Dallas Mavericks’ closer.

Nowitzki shrugged off a rough start and made a few key jumpers in the fourth quarter, helping the Mavericks hold off the Oklahoma City Thunder for a 93-87 victory Saturday night and a 2-1 lead in the Western Conference finals.

The big German had missed 10 of his first 14 shots, but Dallas kept going to him with the Thunder trying to become the second team to rally from a 23-point deficit to beat the Mavericks in these playoffs.

“He’s our guy. In the fourth quarters, he’s going to touch the ball as frequently as we can get it to him,” coach Rick Carlisle said. “If he misses a few shots, he’s not going to get deterred, he’s not going to get discouraged. He’s got the kind of will, he’s going to keep going at it.”

This is what I hate about the media coverage. They talk only about the star of the team, and gloss over players like Shawn Marion of the Mavs, who scored 18 points and great defense against Kevin Durant. Also, Tyson Chandler grabbed 15 boards, six on the offensive end, and Jason Kidd played a fine game as well.

Lightning rallies past Bruins 5-3

My Tampa Bay Lightning evened their Stanley Cup Playoffs Eastern Conference series at two games apiece today, rallying from a 3-0 first period deficit with five unanswered goals

- Mike Smith was perfect in relief of goalie Dwayne Roloson, and Simon Gagne snapped a tie in the third period for the Tampa Bay Lightning, who erased an early three-goal deficit and evened the Eastern Conference finals with a 5-3 win in Game 4 over the Boston Bruins on Saturday.Roloson was pulled in the first period after he allowed three goals on nine shots. Smith came on and made 21 saves as the Lightning avoided dropping into a big hole against the surging Bruins. Boston will host Game 5 on Monday

Great comeback!

Sometimes I like Charles Krauthammer………….

But other times, he comes across as a stuffed shirt, an elitist, and well, this is one of those times

The “establishment” types, just do not get it do they? This election could well be very different. Th American people are not looking for an established politician, they are looking for integrity, straight talk, and someone who has not spent their life in the Beltway.

Now, Krauthammer may be right about Cain, but, he ought to look past his elitist streak long enough to let the candidates show what they can do. BTW, Krauthammer will also poo poo Michelle Bachman and Sarah Palin if and when they jump in, again, they are not “establishment” enough I suppose.

Video- Herman Cain gets it! Also, Ronald McDonald vs a Food Nazi

If only President Bambi had the wisdom that Herman Cain does

Video via Adrienne, who happily notes what a bad day our president had Friday! Not just from Herman Cain, or Netanyahu, but from Ronald McDonald as well.

H/T Gateway Pundit

McDonald’s Corp. CEO Jim Skinner:

“We believe in the democratic process and our government officials believe in the democratic process,” he said to applause from the audience of McDonald’s shareholders. “This is about choice, this is about personal, individual right to choose in the society we live in. That’s where we play, that’s where you play, and we have every right to do so.” more at Hot Air

Here is a video from the Hot Air link, Cavuto trying to talk some sense to John Banzhaf a full on Nanny Stater. Listen to this wacko, and imagine that he ever wield real power over your life, shudder at that though. Of course for this Nanny Stater, it is all about the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Banzhaf was one of the first trial lawyers to propose health-related litigation against tobacco companies. As executive director of Action on Smoking and Health (ASH), Banzhaf pays himself over $200,000 per year in salary and benefits. That’s in addition to his professor’s salary. While he claims he “won’t see a dime” from food lawsuits, he said the same about tobacco torts many years ago. ASH sells tobacco “lawsuit kits” for $25 each.

While he’s still collecting hefty checks from ASH, Banzhaf now receives more attention for his frivolous scheme to bleed restaurants dry. First attacking fast-food in July 2002, Banzhaf served as an adviser to a lawsuit filed by New York attorney Samuel Hirsch on behalf of Caesar Barber — a morbidly obese man whose health suffered because of his poor diet and lack of exercise. Barber’s suit claimed McDonald’s was to blame because he ate too much.

After the Barber suit was laughed out of the court of public opinion, Hirsch and Banzhaf went back to the drawing board for their second multi-billion-dollar fishing expedition. This one used children as the bait. The trial judge dismissed the case, writing: “If a person knows or should know that eating copious orders of super-sized McDonald’s products is unhealthy and may result in weight gain, it is not the place of the law to protect them from their own excesses.”

Banzhaf has lost every obesity-related case he’s been involved in, but that hasn’t stopped him from falsely claiming “victory.” In order to mislead the public into thinking obesity lawsuits are sensible and mainstream, he’s bragged about several so-called “wins” in these cases. One of his self-proclaimed “victories” (over mislabeled ice cream containers in Florida) resulted in customers being offered two free desserts for every one they had purchased. In another case, brought against McDonald’s for not listing beef tallow as a French-fry ingredient, Banzhaf himself admitted that it wasn’t really an obesity suit: “Now, notice,” he told a 2003 food policy conference in Washington, DC, “This is not, first of all, an obesity case. I mean, this wasn’t the problem. We couldn’t prove that anybody got fat, or that anybody got sick.” His other obesity “victories” are just as flimsy.

Banzhaf threatens so many obesity-related lawsuits against food companies that it can be hard to keep track. In June 2003 he sent letters to six fast-food chains demanding that they display “warning” notices about the allegedly “addictive” nature of fatty foods. He even claimed that fast food “can act on the brain the same way as nicotine or heroin.” One month later, Banzhaf teamed up with the Center for Science in the Public Interest to warn six ice cream chains that lawsuits could result from their refusal to immediately “list the calorie (and, ideally, saturated fat) content of each item” on their menus and menu boards.

He even threatened to sue the Seattle School Board — and individual school board members — for making soft drinks available to teenagers in school. Banzhaf has also discussed going after milk producers because the famous “Got Milk?” ads don’t mention the benefits of skim milk. Just as cream rises to the top, John Banzhaf can always be counted on to sink as low as possible.

Media Matters shows it’s anti-Semitic side

Media Matters, or as I call them, Media Marxists need to confront their inner bigotry Via Big Journalism

Media Matters Senior Foreign Policy Fellow MJ Rosenberg unleashed a stream of anti-Israel vitriol today, calling Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a “terrorist” and accusing pro-Israel activists of being un-American.

As Netanyahu gave a stern but statesmanlike response to President Barack Obama’s speech yesterday, Rosenberg could not restrain his hatred. It was the latest, and the worst, anti-Israel attack by Media Matters’s foreign affairs head.

Surprise surprise, another incident exposing the far left nuttiness of Media Marxists. The Left is infatuated with a perverse desire to see Israel destroyed by its enemies. These bastards cheer for terrorists, although they will never openly admit that Hamas, Hezbollah, and the rest of Israel’s enemies are terrorists. They condemn Israel for merely defending itself.

The more I know about the Left, the more clear it becomes. They are truly evil, whether it be because of their absolute blindness to reality, their abject refusal to admit that some cultures ARE better than others, or their affection for the religion of Marx, I cannot say. But, rest assured they are evil.

RIP Randy Macho Man Savage

Sad news out of Clearwater Florida

The professional wrestler known as Randy “Macho Man” Savage has died in a car crash in Florida.

The Florida Highway Patrol says in a crash report that the 58-year-old former wrestler—whose legal name is Randy Mario Poffo—was driving a Jeep Wrangler when he lost control in Pinellas County around 9:25 a.m. The Jeep veered over the raised concrete median divider, crossed over the eastbound lanes and collided head-on with a tree.

Police say he may have suffered a “medical event” before the accident, but the report did not elaborate, and it said officials would need to perform an autopsy to know for sure.

Atlanta and Hockey just do not mix. Years ago, Atlanta got an NHL team, the Flames, which moved to Calgary after a few seasons. Now the Thrashers are apparently set to depart Atlanta for Winnipeg.

Winnipeg’s mayor says it’s just “a matter of time” before a deal to move the Atlanta Thrashers to his city is finalized and announced.

Mayor Sam Katz says Friday the deal to bring an NHL team back to Winnipeg is going to happen, though nothing is signed and sealed yet.

Katz says he’s been in touch with Winnipeg’s True North Sports and Entertainment, the company negotiating the sale, and has been told there is nothing official — yet.

Winnipeg was once home to the Jets, but they left for Pheonix and were renamed the Coyotes in 1996.

Looks like ObamaCare is already working

A human infant sleeps in his incubator at a ne...

And man those side effects are a real bitch says Dr. Milton Wolf

If there’s one constant message I’ve tried to convey here at TWF (and every television or radio interview I give, every opinion column I write, every speech I give and everywhere else when I can) it is that the free market works and health care is not immune from basic economic laws.

Price controls and regulatory burden are stock-in-trade for big-government types and they always fail spectacularly. Promises of lower prices is the siren’s song but usually sooner rather than later the supply chain dries up. Why? People aren’t stupid. If the government makes it unprofitable to supply a product or a service, people will not supply them. File that one under ‘Duh’. Big-government types then attempt to impose control over the suppliers and force them into service. Case in point: ObamaCare took over student loans to exert more control over doctors entering the field. A free doctor won’t be forced into servitude but one owned by the government in the form of crushing debt will do as he or she is told.

Pharmaceutical companies are not immune from the devastating effects of price controls and regulatory burden either. Add the ever-present lawsuits from ambulance chasing lawyers and it becomes increasing difficult to keep your company’s doors open.

What? You mean profits are not evil. Instead they are the lifeblood of businesses, ALL businesses? Who could have known? Well, anyone with an ounce of logic would know this of course, as would this pharmacist

Michael O’Neal is a pharmacist. He purchases drugs for Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He often deals with drug shortages, but this one is bad. O’Neal is concerned about the availability of electrolytes. They are critical to a babies in neonatal intensive care and seriously ill adults.

Electrolytes are administered to a critically ill patient for nutritional support intravenously. They are given to patients who cannot get their nutrition any other way.O’Neal said he’s concerned that as supplies shrink, measures will have to be taken.”We are dangerously close, we believe, when we will have to ration care to the critically ill. I would say within days or weeks,” said O’Neal.Vanessa Kumpf has her doctorate in pharmacy. She’s also a clinical specialist. She supervises patient nutritional support at Vanderbilt. She knows how important the correct cocktail of electrolyte drugs are to a patient.”If one of the drugs is missing, it can be a very potentially life threatening situation. Your heart, your muscles, your lungs, every organ system has to have the right component of electrolytes,” said Kumpf. There are so few makers of electrolytes that when one drug company, American Regent, stopped production because of quality issues, it sent supplies in a tail spin nationwide.
