So, this post got me thinking

SilverFiddle posts about Herman Cain and what he admires about the man.

Herman Cain is a serious man, but I wanted to investigate further.  Anytime someone comes out of the blue and sounds really good, you just know there’s something cringe-worthy or worse in their background.  It’s all going great and then the candidate casually mentions how the government is spying on you through your toaster, or something kooky like that.  So I’ve done some investigating, and I have yet to find anything damning. I also watch the YouTube videos. It’s easy for people to start pandering to their crowd and end up doing or saying something irresponsible. Herman Cain has not indulged in any of that.

I’m not a big YouTube pusher, but I invite you to watch this, or any Herman Cain video and judge for yourself. He says the right things, not because someone coached him, but because he has life experiences that are relevant to the office of president.

So, I started thinking about how I might rank the candidates, or possible candidates. So, here are my top four potential GOP nominees

1 Herman Cain. I have already endorsed him repeatedly, and he remains my first choice. There are doubts amongst the “smart pundits” that he can be viable, but, life is too short to listen to those folks. I think this election will be different, I do think that a non-establishment candidate can win, and right now, Cain is the closest thing to a perfect candidate for me.

2 Rick Perry. My governor has not entered the fray yet, but those “sources” are saying he most assuredly will. Perry combines a great economic record, small government and states rights common sense, a strong pro-life record, and a stellar record on defending the right to keep and bear arms. He also has the necessary charisma, and broad party appeal that will be very hard to beat.

3 Jim DeMint. He also has not entered, and frankly I do not see him running, but this list is not about that. DeMint is a strong Conservative, and will be a strong contender should he jump in. DeMint is everything that Obama isn’t. He strongly supports offshore drilling, and has proposed some common sense solutions for health care that put us in control of our health care rather than government. He also, like all the other candidates, looks far more interested in reviving our economy than “fundamentally changing America?

4 Tim Pawlenty. Yes he is “boring” so what? I do not need or want a cheerleader in the White House. I like Pawlenty, his economic policies, his opposition to Obmacare, and again, like all the other candidates his strong support of Isreal.

Others I would gladly support you ask?

Michelle Bachman, although her association with Ed Rollins disturbs me

Sarah Palin, how much long term damage have the miscreants in the media done her?

Mitt Romney. Well, I would fully support him. He is eons better than Obama on the economy. His only weak suit, and it is a WHOPPER, Romneycare!

And no, I did not mention Marco Rubio, Allen West or Paul Ryan because they have denied any interest in running, although I think they ARE the bright future of the GOP.

I like your list, and thanks for the bump!

Rick Perry would probably be my #1 if he entered.
