I added Bitter Americans to the blogroll this morning, and I offer you a bit of the first post I read over there
For those of you who don’t already know, I’m a Mexican. Yes, that’s right, an ultra conservative Mexican who grew up in a low-income home with a father who was the president of his local chapter of the AFL-CIO. It might not be the typical outcome for someone with that history, but I think there are far more of us than the media likes to admit. We are the people that make up the Tea Party; hardworking Americans from a diverse background fighting to get our county back.
I’m sure many people will label me a racist for what I am going to talk about in this article, but that’s a tough argument when my family has the background we have.
The second side to the immigration issue is not a legal problem, it is an attitude problem. You are coming to the United States to be a taxpaying, English-speaking American, not a Mexican American. I don’t care what country you come from. This applies to immigrants from other countries as well. We will not speak your language. You are free to be proud of your heritage, but you are in the United States now. If you don’t like the United States enough to call yourself and American, that why did you come here in the first place?
I find myself bewildered by the liberal view on this issue. Is there not a legal way to come into this country? Didn’t most of your families go through the process themselves? Why aren’t the people crossing our borders illegally today expected to do the same? I don’t understand why we are supposed to turn a blind eye to this crime. Barack Obama was on television today, (6/29) blabbering on about how we need to raise taxes on the rich to raise revenue. Why don’t we start by addressing an entire segment of the population who takes full advantage of American schools, infrastructure, and health care, yet fails to contribute any tax dollars?
I’m not a Racist! If you don’t pay taxes and you don’t love America, I don’t like you. Michelle Obama said at Barack’s inauguration it was the first time she was ever proud of her country. I don’t like her because of statements like that. I don’t care what color she is or what anyone else is for that matter. The people who are constantly pointing out racism are the real racists. Believe me, if you are white and emigrating to our country illegally, I don’t like you either.
Please read the whole thing, I think it speaks for the vast majority of Americans
Gatordoug, I really appreciate you sharing this. I haven’t come across your blog in my short time as a blogger. I will be sure to add you to my blog list.
