Sen. Inhofe: EPA Wasting Tax Money All Over World (Video)

Sen. Inhofe: EPA Wasting Tax Money All Over World – News Max

The top Republican Senate voice on the environment blasted a $718,000 U.S. grant to China to set up environmental standards there as “inconceivable” at a time of financial crisis.

Sen. Jim Inhofe told Newsmax.TV in an exclusive interview, “Right in the middle of this financial crisis, we want the public to know that the Obama administration, through the EPA, is sending millions of dollars to countries like China and India and places where we don’t really have those interests.”

The money was part of $27 million sent overseas by the EPA. Beijing got it to help China research methane in coal mines and reduce carbon emissions, but Inhofe, the chairman of the Senate’s Environment and Public Works Committee says the world’s most populous nation has plenty of its own money to do such things.

.

.
Other money that was identified by the House Energy and Commerce Committee included $700,000 to Thailand to recover methane from pig farms, $15,000 to Indonesia for a “Breathe Easy, Jakarta” publicity campaign, $1.2 million to the United Nations to promote clean fuels and $150,000 to Interpol to fight fraud in carbon trading programs.

“This shows you want they’re trying to do,” said Inhofe. “When they were unable to pass cap and trade here in the United States… Obama and his EPA decided ‘well if they’re not going to pass the legislation, we’ll do it through regulation.’

“They’re also sending money all over the world, Thailand and every place else including China, to encourage them to pass legislation they couldn’t get passed here.”

The Oklahoma senator said he is also monitoring EPA grants in this country, saying money is going to liberal lobbying groups. He said the groups have “shields or front organizations” that get the money and then pass it on to be used for political purposes.

He claimed it went back to the days of the Clinton administration when there was “a heavy involvement of bureaucrats within the EPA using that money to promote a liberal agenda.”

“We stopped that, or slowed it down during the Bush years, now it’s back again.”

Inhofe said there is little that can be done to rein in the EPA as such moves would fail in the Democratic-controlled Senate, but he predicted the Upper House would be won back by the GOP in 2012. Defeating Barack Obama would then become even more important as a Republican president would be less likely to veto such moves.

He said he sometimes has to ask himself if Obama isn’t deliberately trying to harm the U.S. by refusing to allow more drilling.

“The United States of America has the largest recoverable reserves of coal, oil and gas of any place in the world. We could be completely self-sufficient just in this hemisphere, except for Obama and the Democrats who won’t let us drill. If we could open up the Gulf, the east coast, the west coast and the North Slope and our public land, we wouldn’t have to import one barrel of oil from the Middle East.”

And he said Republicans should have made it clearer at last year’s midterm elections that moratoria on drilling was not a bipartisan issue. “It’s 100 percent partisan. The Democrats will not allow us to develop our own resources.

“We have all of this supply. We have all of this demand. We can meet our demands locally with our own resources, but the liberal politicians, in this case the Democrats, won’t let us do it.”

More Concrete Evidence That Barack Obama Is Mentally Incompetent (Video)

Obama: FDR Was ‘Fiscally Conservative’ – CNS

President Barack Obama said that Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR) – the president best known for establishing a welfare and regulatory state in America – was “fiscally conservative,” in response to a question about how to keep the economy going.

Obama was referring to spending-cut measures Roosevelt took in the middle of the New Deal that lasted from 1933 to 1940.

“FDR comes in, he tries all these things with the New Deal; but FDR, contrary to myth, was pretty fiscally conservative,” the president said Friday during a town hall meeting on the campus of the University of Maryland.

“And so after the initial efforts of the New Deal and it looked like the economy was growing again, FDR then presented a very severe austerity budget,” Obama continued. “And suddenly, in 1937, the economy started going down again. And, ultimately, what really pulled America out of the Great Depression was World War II.”

Obama used this to illustrate why the political leaders should tread carefully in cutting the deficit.

.

.
“Some have said, I think rightly, that we’ve got to be careful that any efforts we have to reduce the deficit don’t hamper economic recovery, because the worst thing we can do for the deficit is continue to have really bad growth or another recession,” Obama said.

However, Jim Powell, author of the 2003 book, FDR’s Folly, How Roosevelt and His New Deal Prolonged the Great Depression said spending cuts to close the deficit had little to do with economic downturn of 1938.

“It’s a misleading analysis. The budget deficit during the Great Depression was such a tiny percent of the GDP, and because it was so small, it’s a hard case to make that these cuts cause the depression of 1938,” Powell, an adjunct fellow with the libertarian Cato Institute, told CNSNews.com.

No one grew the size of government, taxation and spending in peacetime the way Roosevelt did, Powell said.

“FDR tripled taxes and spending more than doubled from 1933 to 1940,” Powell said. “That was the biggest increase in peacetime spending in American history. Before that, the biggest increases in spending came during wars.”

Further, the New Deal did not bring the economy back and prolonged recovery, Powell said, as unemployment was still at 17 percent by 1940, before war spending began to pull the country out of the depression.

“There were a number of New Deal policies that make it harder and more expensive to hire people,” Powell continued. “Compulsory unionism made it more costly to hire people. The more expensive something is the less you get of it. The more you subsidize something, the more you have of it.”

Despite the $500 billion spent under FDR through various programs, the unemployment rate in the United States did not significantly decrease until after the U.S. officially entered World War II in 1941, according to Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) records from 1929 through 1944.

From BLS records, the rates of unemployment in the United States were as follows:

1929 … 3.2 percent

1930 … 8.7 percent

1931 … 15.9 percent

1932 … 23.6 percent

1933 … 24.9 percent

1934 … 21.7 percent

1935 … 20.1 percent

1936 … 16.9 percent

1937 … 14.3 percent

1938 … 19.0 percent

1939 … 17.2 percent

1940 … 14.6 percent

1941 … 9.9 percent

1942 … 4.7 percent

1943 … 1.9 percent

1944 … 1.2 percent

Military To Be Disenfranchised So Meth Dealer’s Friend Can Keep Senate Seat?

Military To Be Disenfranchised So Meth Dealer’s Friend Can Keep Senate Seat? – Hawaii Free Press

Is the effort to disenfranchise military personnel motivated by the political ambitions of appointed District 1 Senator Malama Solomon?

In her July 18 Star-Advertiser commentary, Solomon calls military personnel “non-residents” and straight facedly claims: “I have nothing to gain or lose with the addition of a fourth Senate seat for Hawaii Island.” But in comments also published on the 18th, former District 1 Senator Lorraine Inouye says she is “90 per cent sure” she will run to re-take her old State Senate seat. The prospect of facing Inouye again should be daunting to Solomon who surely remembers the 1998 District 1 Senate race in which Inouye trounced the then-incumbent Solomon. Solomon – after 15 years in the State Senate – was so reviled by her constituents that she garnered only 26.6% of the Democratic Primary vote that year.

Since the last reapportionment ten years ago, the neighbor islands have been grossly overrepresented in the House and Senate. In February, 2011 Stateline.com pointed out that Hawaii has the most “deviant” Senate districts in the nation with population discrepancies of 38.9%, entirely favoring the neighbor islands. In other states deviance is limited to 5% or 10%. Contrary to Solomon’s July 18 claim, having three Senators after reapportionment for the Big Island will result in much less deviant districts with about 60,000 human beings in each district statewide.

There is no clear definition of “non-resident” and no database which could be used to determine who these alleged non-residents are, but military personnel are very active in the community – especially in education. Military personnel and their dependents – who Solomon also does not want to count – are active in building one of Hawaii’s most successful Charter Schools, the Hawaii Technology Academy in Waipahu. Through the National Guard Challenge Academies at Kalaeloa/Barbers Point and on the Big Island at Kulani, military personnel every year save hundreds of the children failed by the DoE.

To be fair, Malama Solomon is active in the community as well. On March 5, 2007–just four months after her 2006 Lt Governor run gave Hawaii Democrats their worst gubernatorial defeat since Statehood – Solomon led about 100 people to sit in at the the Federal District Courtroom of Judge Michael Seabright to support her friend, Shawn Aguiar – the Big Island’s largest methamphetamines dealer.

While methamphetamines ravage the Big Island, Solomon urged the judge to minimize Aguiar’s sentence because his imprisonment might reduce the profitability of Solomon’s 1000-acre Honoka`a cattle ranch.

According to the March 6, 2007 Honolulu Advertiser, Solomon said, in a letter submitted to U.S. District Judge Michael Seabright, that Aguiar “is ‘of critical importance’ to the continued survival of cattle shipper American Pacific International Inc.”

Solomon explained to the Judge that she was eager for Aguiar to be returned to the exact circumstances under which he committed his crimes writing, “With my knowledge of AmPac’s operations and personnel I do not feel that they can survive very long without Shawn’s involvement.” Solomon also was apparently not shy about publicly acknowledging that she was on a first-name basis with one of the largest drug importers in the history of Hawai`i and has “knowledge” of “operations and personnel.”

Prosecutors believe as much as 150 lbs of methamphetamines was imported to the Big Island by Aguiar’s ring. Solomon, in her letter to the court, did not speculate on the “survival” of young people hooked on methamphetamines.

The average meth “rock” is 1/5 of a gram. One hundred fifty pounds of methamphetamines is enough for over 340,000 ‘rocks’ – or two rocks for ever man woman and baby on the Big Island – or 13 ‘rocks’ for every Big Island public school student from kindergarten to grade 12.

In the face of Solomon’s pressure, Seabright sentenced the meth kingpin to only seven years. According to AmPac’s website, Aguiar is now back at work importing and exporting cattle shipments to and from the Big Island.

During her failed Lt Governor campaign, Solomon was a featured speaker at an August 27, 2006 campaign rally held at the Honokaa ranch home of Larry Mehau. Mehau was a key figure in the 1990s “Broken Trust” scandal at Kamehameha Schools. His “Hawaiian Protective Association” collected $40,000 a month for “security” at the Kamehameha campus and more for the “protection” of Big Island Kamehameha lands purchased by the Trust from Hamakua Sugar. According to the book, Broken Trust (p71), a 1997 article in the Maui Valley Isle newspaper accused Mehau of being the “Godfather” of organized crime in Hawaii.

Mehau supported Neil Abercrombie for Governor in 2010 and Abercrombie appointed Malama Solomon to the Senate seat she had lost 12 years earlier.

Solomon is a leader of the effort to organize a State-recognized politically exclusive rump Akaka Tribe of political cronies–excluding the vast majority of native Hawaiians because they are not “Qualified.” The push for the Akaka Tribe and create a tribal jurisdiction around it emerged directly from the Broken Trust scandal. It is an attempt to put criminals beyond the reach of the law so they can steal the Hawaiian patrimony with even greater impunity than they now enjoy. Placing the Bishop Estate under a tribal jurisdiction was first suggested in a 1995 study conducted for the Broken Trustees by ex-Gov John Waihee.

Given these affinities, it should come as no surprise that, in the recent Legislative session, Solomon was a leading advocate for casino gambling in Waikiki and for a state lottery.

The choice to count military personnel is a choice between equal representation for those who build up our communities or excessive representation for those who tear them down.

Tea Party Bill Would Force Obama To Pay Creditors, Social Security And Military If Debt Limit Negotiations Fail – The Hill

Tea Party conservatives hope to make a push on the House floor to force President Obama to avoid a national default if Congress fails to raise the debt limit.

Members of the Senate Tea Party Caucus have met with House freshmen to discuss a plan to pressure House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) to bring the Full Faith and Credit Act to the floor.

The legislation would direct Obama to prioritize federal payments to the nation’s creditors, Social Security recipients and soldiers serving in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The bill has been revised since it was introduced earlier this year. The previous version simply required the Treasury Department to pay the principal and interest on the debt held by the public over other obligations incurred by the federal government.

The challenge for conservatives is to persuade Boehner to bring it up for a vote in the ten days remaining before the Aug. 2 deadline.

“We have a bill that directs by law the president to pay the interest on the debt, pay social security checks and pay soldiers’ salaries. We’ve been talking with the House freshmen to see if they will force a vote on that next week,” said Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), a member of the Senate Tea Party Caucus.

“There are at least 100 members of the caucus that are in favor of it, they have to just convince their leadership it’s a good idea,” he said of the House Republican conference.

A House GOP aide confirmed that conservatives in the lower chamber are mulling the move.

“We’re certainly looking at the option of moving forward on that front,” said Brian Straessle, communications director of the House Republican Study Committee.

Obama has warned seniors that the federal government may not be able to disburse Social Security payments on Aug. 3 if Congress cannot agree to raise the debt limit.

“I cannot guarantee that those checks go out on August 3 if we haven’t resolved this issue. Because there may simply not be the money in the coffers to do it,” Obama said earlier this month.

Republican strategists worry this could quickly turn public opinion against the GOP.

“Democrats have the leverage if we have to pay the Saudi royal family the money we owe them and granny doesn’t get her check,” a Senate Republican aide told The Hill earlier this month.

Even though public polling shows that a majority of people oppose raising the debt limit, Republican Senate leaders fear Democrats would quickly gain leverage in the event of a national default.

Conservatives want to pre-empt that reverse by forcing Obama to continue payments to seniors and soldiers. They worry if those two constituencies were harmed by a default, it would prove disastrous politically.

“The next step is that the president should take default off the table. He should tell the American people that he’ll pay the interest on the debt no matter whether there’s a deal by Aug. 2 or not,” Paul said.

“He should also quit threatening the seniors, tell the seniors they will get their checks,” he said of Obama.

Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) has argued, however, that if Congress does not raise the debt limit and the administration continues to pay interest on the debt, Social Security recipients and military forces overseas, most other government services would come to a halt. He said this would leave Federal Aviation Administration towers, FBI offices and border control checkpoints unmanned.

Senate conservatives are also pushing their Tea Party-affiliated colleagues in the House to make a new push on the “cut, cap and balance” legislation that was defeated in the Senate Friday.

Senators voted 51 to 46 to table the legislation, which would have required Congress to pass a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution, before raising the debt limit.

Senate Tea Party members want to reconsider it and believe they would have a better chance of getting another vote if the House passed the Senate’s version of the cut, cap and balance bill, according to a GOP aide.

These conservative senators believe their leadership should have made more of a concerted effort to push the bill, which would have cut $111 billion from the federal budget in fiscal year 2012 and caped spending at 19.9 percent of gross domestic product by 2021.

GOP leadership aides, however, argue that Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) pushed for three days of debate on the bill, which Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) then cut short.

McConnell said the debate showed Senate Republicans strongly supported a balanced budget amendment.

“I want to thank every American who’s spoken out in favor of the cut, cap, and balance plan,” he said on the floor Friday. “Today the American people will now know where we stand.”

Armed Crook Loses Life In Tangle With Marine Vet

Armed Crook Loses Life In Tangle With Marine Vet – Houston Chronicle

Kenneth Kobobel Sr., a 72-year-old Marine veteran, had yet to put on his eyeglasses when he heard a knock at the door of his office in a northwest Houston strip mall around 9:45 a.m. on Friday.

The great-grandfather was chatting with his brother inside the office, making plans for the day, and figured the towering man waiting outside was one of his workers coming to collect his Friday paycheck.

But when Kobobel opened the door, a man he had never seen before forced his way inside and put a 9mm handgun to his forehead.

“You’re dead!” he said the man screamed. “Give me the money! You’re dead!”

But the next few, frantic minutes actually would turn out to be the robber’s last.

.

.
He forced Kobobel to his knees, his brother to the ground. He emptied the brother’s wallet, and Kobobel gave him $20. But the robber kept looking, Kobobel said, and patted down one of his pockets, finding a tight wad of bills totaling more than $800.

“You lied to me!” the man screamed. “You’re dead!”

He said the robber struck him on the head with the barrel of the 9mm and tossed the desk and credenza looking for more money. The robber finally seemed satisfied they had no more cash and said to “count to 100 before you even think of walking to that door.”

At the count of 20, Kobobel called 911. Then the senior citizen was out the door, asking neighbors if they saw which way the robber went. He climbed into his 1997 Lexus sedan just as his son, 47-year-old Kenneth Kobobel Jr., pulled up outside.

The son watched his father speed off in pursuit of the robber, not surprised in the least.

“He’s an ex-Marine,” the son said. “He doesn’t put up with a whole lot of nothing.”

His father remembers the next few minutes through the haze of an adrenaline rush. He said he spotted the robber in a parking lot of a strip mall on Northline and headed toward him.

“He turned and saw me and pointed the gun at me,” Kobobel said.

He said the man fired at him at least once.

Kobobel rammed him with his car, but the robber jumped right back up and recocked his gun, he said.

“I hit him again,” he said. “I hit him pretty good that time.”

Police said Kobobel rammed the man against a metal fence in the parking lot of a strip mall near 7313 Northline, about half a block away from his business. Details about the incident then become sketchy, police said. Investigators said they are trying to determine if another vehicle besides Kobobel’s also hit the robber.

Kobobel got out of his car and looked around and didn’t see the man, asking residents of the nearby apartment complex if they’d seen him run by. They pointed to the robber lying nearby in the parking lot.

Kobobel, a former lawyer who lives in Spring, walked over and removed the gun from the man’s reach, and saw that he was seriously injured.

“I thought it was good that I caught this jerk who’d robbed me,” Kobobel said, “but what I didn’t like was that this man was laying there and his life was ebbing away. I’m a Christian, and I wouldn’t want to see anybody die.”

Police have yet to release the robber’s identity.

Kobobel, who owns the small strip mall on Little York that houses his business office, a church and driving school, said he’s “emotionally tore up” about the man’s death.

“I would have given him the $800 if he’d still be alive,” he said. “I didn’t want anybody to die on my account.”

Your Marxist Moron of the Day

A classic example of someone educated beyond their hat size Cornell West, who believes Obama is not Marxist enough!

It was a cry from the heart. What happened was that greed at the top has squeezed so much of the juices of the body politic. Poor people and working people have not been a fundamental focus of the Obama administration. That for me is not just a disappointment but a kind of betrayal.

NYT: You have 30 seconds of private time with the president — what do you say to him?

Cornel West: I would say: “Look at that bust of Martin Luther King Jr. in the Oval Office and recognize that tears are flowing when you let Geithner and others shape your economic policy, when you refuse to focus on poor and working people or when you drop the drone bombs that kill innocent civilians. Tim Geithner does not represent the legacy of Martin King.”

NYT: How can Obama be the president you want him to be when he’s facing this Republican Congress?

Cornell West: I’ll put it this way, brother: You’ve got to be a thermostat rather than a thermometer. A thermostat shapes the climate of opinion; a thermometer just reflects it. If you’re just going to reflect it and run by the polls, then you’re not going to be a transformative president. Lincoln was a thermostat. Johnson and F.D.R., too.

Note that West wants Obama to be transformative. Like FDR, and LBJ who moved us far down the road towards Socialism by growing government well beyond its Constitutional guidelines the Founders set. And more like Lincoln, who  destroyed another basis for our Founding, small federal government and state sovereignty. I suppose West has missed that Obama is a far Left as those presidents ever were.

Daily Benefactor News – Leaked: U.S. Defense Officials Deliberately Skewed Survey Results To Sway ‘Don’t Ask’ Repeal

Leaked: U.S. Defense Officials Deliberately Skewed Survey Results To Sway ‘Don’t Ask’ Repeal – LiteSiteNews

An explosive document from the U.S. military’s top investigative office has revealed evidence that a Pentagon survey pivotal to the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” repeal was engineered months prior to its release, and deliberately skewed in later media leaks, to sway Congress towards repeal despite opposition from combat troops.

An unredacted version of the April 2011 report by the Defense department’s Inspector General was leaked to the conservative Center for Military Readiness, and a slightly redacted version was confirmed as authentic by a Defense spokesperson to LifeSiteNews.com.

The authors found that Jeh Johnson, a co-chair of the commission handling the survey, had breached the document’s non-disclosure agreements by discussing an early draft of the document with “a former news anchor” and “close personal friend” on or around July 4, 2010. The purpose of the meeting, almost six months before the survey’s official end, was to obtain “suggestions for persuasive writing” in addition to syntax and sentence structure, according to investigators.

When the former news anchor was confronted, the IG reports that the individual said he/she was “pleased that finally the United States was getting around to this idea [repeal of 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell,'] and I was struck by how many members of the United States Armed Services thought this was just fine.” The individual said that he/she reached the conclusion about troops favoring repeal based on a sentence in the document she saw in July.

However, according to the survey itself, the survey’s 103 questions were not transmitted to troops until July 7, and were available online through August 15.

Further evidence of tampering emerged while investigating a source who breached non-disclosure agreements by leaking survey results to the media weeks before its release. Investigators concluded that, in addition to violating protocol, the source was “not a ‘disinterested party’” and deliberately skewed the information to favor a repeal of DADT.

“[E]vidence showed the source carefully disclosed specific survey data to support a pro-repeal agenda… to gain momentum in support of a legislative change during the ‘lame duck’ session of Congress,” write the authors.

Investigators even say the source, who had access to the near-final survey draft, acted in spite of presumed opposition from military servicemen themselves.

“Early evidence suggested that the primary source of the information was someone who had a strong emotional attachment to the issue of furthering a repeal of ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,’ and probably had ‘assumptions going in’ that the [Comprehensive Review Working Group]‘s findings would ultimately reveal a repeal would not be supported by a majority of Service members,” states the report.

The document notes that “96 of the 101 individuals” with access to the draft report’s data “each denied under oath” that they were the source, leaving too little evidence to reveal the source’s identity. The remaining five, all White House officials whom Johnson briefed on the survey on November 9, appear not to have been questioned.

Two prominent recipients of the leaked information, the authors of a November 11 Washington Post article, claimed that 70 percent of military respondents said the effect of a DADT repeal would “positive, mixed, or nonexistent” and that the results had “led the report’s authors to conclude that objections to openly gay colleagues would drop once troops were able to live and serve alongside them.”

But investigators note that the Post’s enormously influential figure could have been re-phrased for the exact opposite effect, hinging upon use of the “mixed effect” statistic.

“If [Post authors] Mr. O’Keefe’s and Mr. Jaffe’s sources had desired to further an anti-repeal bias for the article, he/she could likewise have combined four results categories from that same survey question to conclude that ’82 percent of respondents said the effect of repealing the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy would be negative, mixed or no effect,’” wrote officials.

Taken apart from the “mixed effect” statistic, the survey’s findings show evidence of strong opposition to repeal, particularly among troops with on-the-ground experience. Among respondents with combat deployment experience since September 11, 2011, four times as many troops said that a repeal would have a negative or very negative impact in a field environment than those who anticipated a positive/very positive impact – 44 percent to 11 percent.

In addition, over twelve times as many Marine combat troops said repeal would impact unit readiness negatively as those who responded positively, while Army combat troops were six times more likely to be negative than positive.

The skewed representation, however, eventually became a sturdy talking point for both media and policymakers in the months after the November 30 release.

Defense Secretary Robert Gates defended repeal in December by asserting that “a strong majority of those who answered the survey – more than two-thirds – do not object” to repeal. In an AP report Friday on Obama’s scheduled repeal announcement, the survey was similarly represented as finding that “two thirds of troops did not care if the ban ended.”

NFL owners, players reach deal!

The new NFL logo went into use at the 2008 draft.

Image via Wikipedia

Yep, looks like the 2011 NFL season will proceed as it should

The NFL Players Association and the league’s owners have reached agreement on the remaining points needed in their 10-year labor deal, sources from both sides said.

Despite the fact the new agreement will require a majority vote from the players, that part of the deal between the two sides is considered a formality, according to sources.

The NFLPA is making plans for a major press conference Monday. But first the player reps’ executive committee is scheduled to fly to Washington, D.C., on Sunday so they can vote Monday.

Just as the NFL would not have called a vote Thursday in Atlanta without knowing it would pass in the way it did — 31-0 with one abstention — the NFLPA would also not be going forward without that assurance.

SWAT team took 40 minutes to answer call in Norway?

American Pundit has the story, and again, remember that Norway has strict gun control laws, which the Left insists will keep us safe. Of course they also tell us that we do not “need” guns we have police. Yeah, right

The psychopath who shot up Utoya island was the only one with a gun. See, Norway allows civilians to have certain guns, but usually for hunting and sport shooting. In fact, possession of a handgun apparently has to be justified by some sort of sporting hobby.

To own a gun in Norway, one must document a use for the gun. By far, the most common grounds for civilian ownership are hunting and sports shooting, in that order. Other needs can include special guard duties or self defense, but the first is rare and the second is practically never accepted as a reason for gun ownership.

So once again the only people truly armed are the criminals. Law-abiding citizens who would use weapons to defend themselves and/or others are stopped from doing so.

But who cares, right? There’s always the police, right? About that:

The most recent news accounts indicate that the gunman shot up Utoya Island for an hour and a half before he was finally stopped. The SWAT team that wounded and captured him arrived at the island 40 minutes after they were called.

The police team had to be dispatched from Oslo. Then they had to gear up. Then they had to get a boat. Then they had to make their way to the island. Then they had to find the guy.

All while the suspect was shooting-up the island, leaving dead children in his wake.

And still, you know the Left will try to pimp this tragedy don’t you? There will now be calls for “tighter” gun laws. You just know it. That is as sure to happen as is the Left tying this maniac to Conservatives.

You just knew this was coming…
Disturbed Oslo mass murderer Anders Behring Breivik was known to be a fan of Winston Churchill so the media is having a heyday.

In their article on the massacre Reuters used the terms “right-wing” or “far-right” 25 times.

And the far left is already linking the killer to Sarah Palin and tea party.

Truly sickening. Robert lays it out

As the death toll continues to rise in Norway’s apparently related bombing and shooting attacks, a few truths are once again revealed for any who would see:

  • Unarmed victims are defenseless and easy prey for any evil lunatic bent on slaughtering them at will. The adults at the youth camp were utterly unprepared to protect themselves, let alone their charges.
  • People instinctively don’t question an armed man if he appears to be a police officer. Many of the same people react with horror at the sight of an armed citizen.
  • The best defense against an active shooter is others with guns—it was not the unarmed who took the suspect into custody.
  • Once more, “gun control” has proven useless. Many reports, if accurate, say the gunman used “automatic weapons,” which, except for some tightly regulated collector exemptions, are banned from civilian ownership in Norway.
  • Once more, the race is on to tar an entire demographic for the actions of a deranged and monstrous individual, and to conflate “conservatives” with violent extremists.

And once more, expect to hear renewed calls for more citizen disarmament, that is, an expansion of the potential victim pool for those who count on such measures to make their diabolical tasks all the more easily executed.

The fact is if you disarm the public, you must protect that public or slaughter the public. This is what happens time and time again and the same people come out screaming about the gun he used, rather than the laws that prevented OTHER guns to be a deterrent.

As I said yesterday, the Left will try to squeeze every last drop of propaganda out of this, because to Leftists, the end they seek  justifies every means.

Dem Rep. Wu Caught In Sex Scandal With Young Daughter Of Longtime Friend

Dem Rep. Wu Caught In Sex Scandal With Young Daughter Of Longtime Friend – Gateway Pundit

Freak.

Earlier this year Wu shocked his staffers by sending them pictures of himself posing in a tiger costume. (NY Daily)

An upset young woman called Congressman David Wu (D-OR) at his office this spring and accused him of an unwanted sexual encounter.

Oregon Live reported:

A distraught young woman called U.S. Rep. David Wu’s Portland office this spring, accusing him of an unwanted sexual encounter, according to multiple sources.

When confronted, the Oregon Democrat acknowledged a sexual encounter to his senior aides but insisted it was consensual, the sources said.

The woman is the daughter of a longtime friend and campaign donor. She apparently did not contact police at the time.

One person who heard the voice mail described the woman as upset, breathing heavily and “distraught.”

In the voice mail, the young woman accused Wu of aggressive and unwanted sexual behavior, according to sources with direct knowledge of the message and its contents.

Reporters could not verify the young woman’s age. Notes on Facebook over the past 18 months indicate she graduated from high school in 2010. California records show she registered to vote in August.

Wu, 56, did not respond to repeated questions from The Oregonian over the past four days.

The woman accuser is the daughter of a longtime friend.

That look on Bill Maher’s face is priceless

Nick Gillespie NAILS Bill Maher

Ah yes, the Green warrior himself, Bill Maher, is astounded when someone asks him if he is willing to “share the sacrifice” and walk the walk. Here is the transcript from Real Time

BILL MAHER, HOST: It seems like, you know, the idea of socialism and sacrifice and we’re all in it together, which is socialism is a very bad word in this country, but we had last weekend out here in something called Carmageddon where they closed the 405 and we thought it was going be horrible. But you know what? They educated the public, they asked them to help and participate, and they did, and it made me think maybe this could, crazy idea, maybe the idea of asking people to sacrifice and actually, you know, bringing them into the situation they would respond.

DONNA BRAZILE, DEMOCRAT STRATEGIST: Shared sacrifice.

NICK GILLESPIE, REASON TV: But what’s the sacrifice? I mean, just don’t use the 405 for a weekend.

MAHER: That’s true. It wasn’t a big sacrifice.

DONNA BRAZILE: But really, stay off the roads, walk, talk to your neighbor, you know, get around.

MAHER: Some of these things are not that difficult. I read in USA TODAY this week that if every American just gave up eating meat and cheese one day of the week, it would be the equivalent of saving 91 billion driving miles in a year.

GILLESPIE: It’s always great when somebody else is going to sacrifice because how many cars do you own?

MAHER: I own two.

GILLESPIE: Okay, so would you give up both of them?

MAHER: Both cars?

GILLESPIE: Yeah.

MAHER: Why would I have to give up both cars?

GILLESPIE: Would you give up your TV show? What’s the carbon footprint of this show? Maybe, can the world do without it?

Noel Sheppard offers a classic commentary on hypocrites like Maher, who, by the way NEVER answered that question.

Indeed. The carbon footprint associated with powering and producing a weekly television show must be huge.

It’s a metaphysical certitude that between Maher’s cars, his show, his air travel, and his palatial home in Los Angeles, he has a far greater carbon footprint than the overwhelming majority of people on this planet.

Yet, when asked to “sacrifice” for the greater good, he looked at Gillespie like the Libertarian was trying to steal his wallet.

This of course was the point of Peter Schweizer’s 2005 book “Do As I Say (Not As I Do)”: liberals like Maher are all for “shared sacrifice” as long as it doesn’t include them.

How inconvenient for the holier-than-thou “Real Time” host to have it so marvelously demonstrated on his own program for all the world to see.

Your daily dose of MSNBS “journalism”

Newsbusters has the latest in naked bias at the Tree of Low Hanging-Blogging Fruit that IS MSNBS!

Following the media’s relentless coverage of the Bachmann clinic and their semi-humorous insinuations that Marcus Bachmann might be gay, MSNBC’s Thomas Roberts, who is himself openly gay, told viewers today the Republican presidential contender would try to wipe out gays and lesbians.

“But you will replace [Obama] with a person who would extinguish you,” Roberts protested Friday morning to Jimmy LaSalvia, executive director of GOProud, a gay conservative organization opposing Obama’s reelection.

Watch the video, and listen to Roberts. He SO badly wants to say that Bachman wants to deny Gays the right to exist, absolutely pathetic!

Such an awful waste

This is just sad
