FEC Ignores Constitution, Rules Naturalized Citizen Is Eligible To Run For President Of The United States

Washington Reinterprets Constitutional Eligibility – WorldNetDaily

A Guyana-born naturalized American citizen fits the Federal Elections Commission’s requirements to run for president, the FEC announced in a ruling.

The case involves New York lawyer Abdul Hassan, who was born in the South American country in 1974. Hassan argues it is discriminatory to not allow him to run for office.

Responding to criticism of possible dual-loyalty issues, Hassan said in a radio interview that a person’s place of birth should not determine his patriotism or presidential eligibility.

………………………………….

“I am an attorney,” he said. “When I undertake the representation of a client, I have to act in the best interests of my client,” Hassan stated on “Aaron Klein Investigative Radio” on New York’s WABC Radio.

Continued Hassan: “If I represent someone in my community … and I undertake your representation, I owe you 100 percent loyalty and my duty is solely to protect and to advance your interests.”

“It would be no different if I were to be president of the United States,” he contended. “If I believe that I cannot act in the best interests, I wouldn’t be doing this.”

Petitioned further by Klein about the Constitution’s concerns regarding those born overseas, Hassan argued many U.S. citizens have loyalty issues, as well.

“Look at all these fellows, these FBI agents, natural born Americans, who were spying for Russia,” he said.

“You have to judge each individual based on his own merits,” he added.

Click here to listen to Klein’s full interview with Hassan.

Hassan, meanwhile, petitioned the FEC to allow him to run for president, arguing the Federal Election Campaign Act does not bar naturalized citizens from running.

In its official response earlier this month, the FEC agreed with Hassan’s logic.

The FEC’s ruling, which did not receive any news media attention, concluded that a naturalized citizen is not prohibited by the Federal Election Campaign Act from becoming a “candidate” as defined under the act.

However, a naturalized citizen is not eligible to receive federal matching funds under the FEC’s Presidential Primary Matching Payment Account Act.

Stated the FEC ruling: “In regard to the definition of ‘person,’ the act defines that term as including ‘an individual, partnership, committee, association, corporation, labor organization, or any other organization or group of persons,’ excluding the federal government. There is no reference to natural born or naturalized citizens. As an individual, Mr. Hassan is a ‘person’ under the Act.”

While the FEC’s own rules now allow Hassan to run for high office, the attorney must still clear judicial hurdles before his eligibility could become official.

At issue is the constitutional stipulation that only a “natural born” citizen can be for president.

Article 2, Section 1, Clause 5 of the U.S. Constitution stipulates presidential eligibility, requiring the nation’s elected chief to be a “natural born citizen.”

The clause states: “No person except a natural born citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.”

The Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution specifically defines “citizen” but not “natural born citizen.”

A “citizen” is defined as: “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are Citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.”

However, no definition of “natural born citizen” – which is only used in the presidential requirement clause – was provided anywhere in the Constitution, and to this day the precise meaning of the term is still being debated.

In his legal argument, Hassan contended the constitutional eligibility clause discriminates against naturalized citizens.

He cites Supreme Court rulings that interpret the Constitution as providing “equal protection” to naturalized citizens. Other rulings cited by Hassan guarantee against the discrimination of naturalized citizens.

“The natural born requirement, that was adapted in the 1780s at a time when slavery was also a part of the constitution,” Hassan told Klein.

Hassan added the eligibility requirement should be reinterpreted in a way that would allow naturalized citizens to run for president.

Six Muslims Face Terror Charges In UK

Six Muslims Face Terror Charges In UK – NewsMeat

Six muslim men from Birmingham will appear in court on Monday accused of terror offences.

The men were charged late on Sunday after being arrested in a major operation by the West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit, West Midlands Police said.

Police crime scene investigators cover a car with a tarpaulin near a house in the Sparkbrook area of Birmingham, where the British police arrested seven people in a counterterrorism operation.

Four were charged with preparing for an act of terrorism in the UK, and two more with failing to disclose information. One of those two was also charged with terrorist fundraising.

Irfan Nasser, 30, Irfan Khalid, 26, Ashik Ali, 26, and Rahin Ahmed, 25, are all charged with engaging in conduct in preparation of terrorist acts, contrary to the Terrorism Act 2006.

It is alleged that between Christmas Day 2010 and September 19 this year, they were preparing, or helping others prepare, to commit acts of terrorism.

For Nasser, from Sparkhill, Khalid, from Sparkbrook, and Ali, from Balsall Heath, this is alleged to have included planning a bombing campaign; stating an intention to be a suicide bomber; collecting money for terrorism; making or helping make a homemade bomb for terrorism; and recruiting people for terrorism.

Nasser and Khalid are also accused of travelling to Pakistan for training in terrorism including bomb making, weapons and poison making, as well as making a ‘martyrdom’ film.

Ahmed, from Moseley, is accused of helping others travel to Pakistan for terrorism training, collecting money for terrorism and investing and managing money for terrorist acts.

Ashik Ali’s brother Bahader Ali, 28, and Mohammed Rizwan, 32, both from Sparkbrook, are both charged with failing to disclose information about acts of terrorism.

It is alleged that between July 29 and September 19 this year, both had information which they knew may help prevent the commission of an act of terrorism but did not disclose the information. Bahader Ali is also charged with terrorist fundraising.

All six men will appear at West London Magistrates’ Court on Monday afternoon.

A seventh man, aged 20 and also from Birmingham, is still being questioned and officers have until Thursday to charge, release or apply for a further warrant of detention.

Thousands Run Through The Streets Of Salt Lake City In Their Underwear To Protest Against Utah ‘Being So Uptight’

Thousands Run Through The Streets Of Salt Lake City In Their Underwear To Protest Against Utah ‘Being So Uptight’ – Daily Mail

When thousands of people took to the streets of Salt Lake City in their underwear, they were not just hoping to break records.

Wearing just boxers, panties and bras, are the crowds of people said they were there to break stereotypes.

Salt Lake City is the home of the Mormon church, which is a vocal opponent of gay marriage and a bastion of conservatism.

‘My goal is to change Utah. To make this state lighten up once and for all,’ run organiser Nate Porter told Fox 13.

‘I’m trying to draw people in that are jaded by politics.’

The annual event, called the ‘Utah Undie Run’ encouraged people to paint their naked torsos with messages about gay rights and other causes.

‘We’ve all heard it for years, Utah is boring, Utahans are uptight… well it’s time to change all that, at least for a night,’ the group wrote on its website.

Organisers said that they wanted the state, which tightened up its liquor laws earlier this month, to loosen up.

The group is set to enter the Guinness Book of Records if the run is verified.

Organisers estimate that 3,000 people turned up in their underwear, beating the previous record of 55.

Georgia Middle School Assignment Depicts ‘Positive’ Aspects Of Shariah Law – The Blaze

A Georgia middle school adjusted its lessons after a father complained that his daughter’s homework assignment promoted Shariah law.

……………………….

According to the Marietta Daily Journal, the assignment was supposed to teach students at Campbell Middle School about the pros and cons of school uniforms. It featured a letter from a woman who said she is “proud and happy” to be Muslim and to completely cover herself in public – and also that her husband could take another wife rather than divorce her if their marriage gets rocky:

“My name is Ahlima and I live in Saudi Arabia… Perhaps two differences Westerners would notice are that women here do not drive cars and they wear abuyah. An abuyah is a loose-fitting black cloth that covers a woman from head to toe. I like wearing the abuyah since it is very comfortable, and I am protected from blowing sand… I have seen pictures of women in the West and find their dress to be horribly immodest… Women in the West do not have the protection of the Sharia as we do here. If our marriage has problems, my husband can take another wife rather than divorce me, and I would still be cared for… I feel very fortunate that we have the Sharia.”

“I thought this was absurd,” parent Hal Medlin said. “[The teacher] was trying to compare Islamic rules of dress and how they compared to school uniforms, which I thought was a stretch. The principal and the [superintendent] agreed with me… but they wouldn’t agree with my premise that it put Islam in a positive light because of the [statements].”

.

.
Medlin, who described himself as conservative, found the statements on polygamy particularly egregious: “I understand that some Westerners condemn our practice of polygamy, but I also know they are wrong,” the assignment said.

“It’s promoting or positively depicting their belief that polygamy is fine, if that’s what they believe,” he told WSB-TV. “But I don’t know how you could possibly state that and not have any kind of disclaimer that this is what these people think, but not necessarily what all of us believe.”

Another part of the assignment lists the requirements for women’s clothing according to Islam, including that it cannot resemble the clothing of non-believing women and must protect women from the lustful gaze of men.

It states, “Islam liberated woman over 1,400 years ago. Is it better to dress according to man or God?”

“It represents Islam in a positive manner. That doesn’t offend me as much as the fact that it represents no other religions,” Medlin said. “To me, this material is being used the way it’s used is like tearing a page out of text book and saying here’s the whole story.”

But Sharon Coletti, the founder of InspirEd Educators and the creator of the material, said she does not understand Medlin’s objection.

“This particular sequence is a two-day social studies lesson. They read this letter and then examine stereotyping. The next lesson is a compare and contrast on the role of women in the Middle East,” she told the Daily Journal. “Yes, the Muslim girl stereotypes Western women, but are there ways we stereotype Muslims? I have no idea what the objection is.”

“It’s important for kids to have some empathy for other people in the world. Some people think we’re trying to teach their children to be Muslims, and that could not be more ridiculous,” she said.

According to the Daily Journal, the teacher has since adjusted the material for the lesson. Dale Gaddis, a district area superintendent, acknowledged that it could have been taught in a better way but did not entirely discount the material.

“Teachers may select materials that aren’t always the best, which is not necessary in this case, but within the adopted materials, they have choices that they can make with how they present certain items,” Gaddis said. “It was in range of the teacher and the course, which had to do with the eastern cultures.”

Herman Cain Needs A Bumper Sticker (Picture)

Click on the image above to visit the Official Herman Cain For President website.

Yep! That sounds like the UN to me

Israeli Prime Minister Bejamin Netanyahu sums up the uselessness of the United Nations

Ladies and gentlemen, in Israel our hope for peace never wanes. Our scientists, doctors, innovators, apply their genius to improve the world of tomorrow. Our artists, our writers, enrich the heritage of humanity. Now, I know that this is not exactly the image of Israel that is often portrayed in this hall. After all, it was here in 1975 that the age-old yearning of my people to restore our national life in our ancient biblical homeland — it was then that this was braided — branded, rather — shamefully, as racism. And it was here in 1980, right here, that the historic peace agreement between Israel and Egypt wasn’t praised; it was denounced! And it’s here year after year that Israel is unjustly singled out for condemnation. It’s singled out for condemnation more often than all the nations of the world combined. Twenty-one out of the 27 General Assembly resolutions condemn Israel — the one true democracy in the Middle East.

Well, this is an unfortunate part of the U.N. institution. It’s the — the theater of the absurd. It doesn’t only cast Israel as the villain; it often casts real villains in leading roles: Gadhafi’s Libya chaired the U.N. Commission on Human Rights; Saddam’s Iraq headed the U.N. Committee on Disarmament.

You might say: That’s the past. Well, here’s what’s happening now — right now, today. Hezbollah-controlled Lebanon now presides over the U.N. Security Council. This means, in effect, that a terror organization presides over the body entrusted with guaranteeing the world’s security.

You couldn’t make this thing up.

Full video at the link. Sadly the absurdity of the UN makes the world less stable, less safe, and enables terrorists and dictators.

Video- Herman Cain reacts to Straw Poll win

Very encouraging. Cain, to me, has been getting less attention from the media, and in the debates than he warrants. It is great to see him getting some respectable pub. It is also good, at least to me, that Romney finished third in this straw poll. And Bachmann? Dead last!

And I echo Stacy McCain’s advice to Bill Kristol, SHUT YOUR MOUTH!

Seriously, you’re starting to piss me off here, with your . . . idiotic assertion that the 37 percent of Florida straw-poll delegates who voted for Herman Cain were voting for “none of the above.”

Did you notice that little . . . pause, Bill?

Kind of a hint, buddy. Because any liberal would have said “racist assertion” instead of “idiotic assertion,” and I’m giving you the benefit of the doubt, knowing that your college roommate was Alan Keyes.

Trust me when I say that I understand perfectly well why the Beltway commentariat has a problem taking Herman seriously. To start with the obvious: His campaign is unprecedented. The man has never been elected to anything, and the last guy we elected president with no previous political experience was Ike.

Being Supreme Allied Commander is probably better preparation for the presidency than being CEO of Godfather’s Pizza. I get that.

I’ve called Herman Cain “Steve Forbes with charisma,” and I think maybe part of the problem you pundit types have with Herman is that you don’t trust charisma. This is why you were willing to say polite things about that hopeless dud Pawlenty and have such warm praise for the charisma-deficient Mitch Daniels yet constantly low-rate Cain.

AMEN! The problem, or at least one of the problems with people like Kristol is that they think they have to comment on every thing political. Bill, sometimes, things ARE what they appear to be. Cain won because, unlike you, those voting in that straw poll liked him best. See, Bill, just remember that old bit of advice about Keep It Simple Stupid the next time you have that in credible urge to share your “expertise” with us.

Leftists continue to piss on our Constitution

An unbelievable story out of Tennessee via Gateway Pundit

Now they’re telling us that we can’t bow our heads.
Football coaches in Sumner County, Tennessee, are in trouble for bowing their heads during a student-led prayer.
Via Poor Richard’s News:

Teachers and coaches cannot appear like they are endorsing prayer.
WSMVreported:

Some football coaches are in trouble for something they did with their players. They said a prayer.

That has the school district taking action.

And the policy, while it may be the law, has plenty of people up in arms.

Every school district has a responsibility to follow the law, and separate private faith from public school. It can be a fine line at times. One crossed in Sumner County, it seems, when the coaches didn’t say a word during a student-led prayer, but they did bow their heads.

In a town like Westmoreland, faith and football seem to matter.

“We’re just respectful, God-fearing people up here,” resident Tony Bentle said.

Bentle called games for Westmoreland High School for 42 years.

“A lot of history. A lot of changes. A lot of football,” he said.

So when he, like a lot of people, heard what happened after a recent game at the middle school.

“It actually blew my mind, that we had come to that point,” he said. “Nobody in this town is offended if you pray. Nobody.”

During a student-originated, student-led prayer, four coaches bowed their heads. They didn’t say a word.

Outrageous? Yes, and steeped in the worst traditions of Marxism. There is no way that such a rule is constitutional, the government telling you when you may bow your head? Telling you not to appear as if you are praying? This is what we have reaped because we have catered to the malcontents, and placated the whiners and the intolerant Leftists in America.

80-Year-Old Woman Busted For Selling Crack

80-Year-Old Woman Busted For Selling Crack – The Examiner

An 80-year-old Alabama woman was arrested this week, on charges claiming that she is a crack dealer.

Prichard Police took Ola Mae Robinson into custody after a search warrant served on her house turned up “quite a bit of crack cocaine and pills.”

……………………….

While we are not sure what a “quite a bit” is, it must be a lot to arrest an 80-year-old woman that uses a walker.

According to the report, Ola Mae was arrested in June for possession and distribution.

Police questioned Robinson over the drug they found in her house, and asked her if she knew how the drugs ended up in her home.

“Who? No! I don’t have time for no crack cocaine,” said Robinson. “Wish I was, ‘Cause then I’d have money.”

Chief Jimmie Gardner told Fox News 10 that there was a lot of traffic at the elderly woman’s house.

“The traffic there just never changed,” Gardner said. “Blacks and whites, males, females, even older individuals coming in and out, driving up for a very short periods and come back out.”

“Also, she’s been dealing in pills. She did have prescription drugs. She was selling Morphine. We have gotten Lortabs before, but yesterday we got Morphine,” said Gardner.

Previously Robinson was arrested after officers found cocaine stashed in a green tin “marked sugar free mints.”

She is being held in the Metro Jail.

Herman Cain Rolls Over Competition In Florida Straw Poll

Herman Cain Wins Florida Straw Poll – The Blaze

Under the radar Republican Presidential candidate and former Godfather’s Pizza CEO Herman Cain won an early test vote in Florida, capturing 37.1 percent of the vote at Saturday’s Presidency 5 straw poll in Orlando, with Texas Gov. Rick Perry coming in second with 15.4 percent. Mitt Romney came in third with 14 percent and Rick Santorum followed with 10.88 percent. Michele Bachmann, who scored a high-profile straw vote victory in Iowa last month, finished last, with less than 2%.

……………

“Let’s send Washington a message: We the people are still in charge of this country. Not we, the bureaucrats. Not we, the government,” Georgia businessman Herman Cain told the conference.

While all declared candidates were on the ballot, the first-tier candidates aside from Perry did not compete. Perry bought hundreds of activists’ breakfasts on the sidelines before heading to Michigan. Romney skipped and didn’t send representatives to the forum.

Earlier in the day, Texas Gov. Rick Perry worked to convince Florida Republicans that he is the strongest contender for the GOP nomination despite a shaky debate performance earlier this week that has sparked jitters about his bid.

Previous straw polls have predicted the GOP nominee.

Ronald Reagan won in 1979, George H.W. Bush in 1987 and Kansas Sen. Bob Dole in 1995. The Republican Party of Florida, however, has not organized the test vote in recent years.

Perry, a late entrant into the Republican primary who quickly led national polls, stumbled in recent weeks.

His defense of in-state tuition rates for illegal immigrants put him on the wrong side of the GOP’s conservative base. His rivals worked to exploit his opposition to a fence along the U.S.-Mexican border and his support of a mandatory vaccine for girls against a sexually transmitted disease.

80 Arrested As Financial District Protest Moves North – New York Times

The police made scores of arrests on Saturday as hundreds of people, many of whom had been encamped in the financial district as part of a lengthy protest, marched north to Union Square. As darkness fell, large numbers of officers were deployed on streets near the encampment in Zuccotti Park, at Broadway and Liberty Street, where hundreds more people had gathered.

……………………….

Paul J. Browne, the Police Department’s chief spokesman, said in a statement, “There were approximately 80 arrests, mainly for disorderly conduct by individuals who blocked vehicular and pedestrian traffic, but also for resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration and, in one instance, for assault on a police officer.”

Protest organizers estimated that about 85 people were arrested and that about five were struck with pepper spray. Among those was Chelsea Elliott, 25, who said that she was sprayed after shouting “Why are you doing that?” as an officer arrested a protester at East 12th Street.

“I was on the ground sobbing and couldn’t breathe,” she said. The continuing protests, against a financial system that participants say favors the rich and powerful over ordinary citizens, started last Saturday and were coordinated by a New York group called the General Assembly.

Many of those taking part have slept in Zuccotti Park, which is private, using it as a base. In the early afternoon hundreds of people left the park and moved north toward Union Square. Witnesses said that for much of the route, protesters spilled from sidewalks onto streets and added that the police used long orange nets at Fifth Avenue and 14th Street in an apparent attempt to block the march from proceeding.

Many marchers, however, detoured and entered Union Square before eventually turning south again. Video showed a confusing scene as protesters went south on University Place, where motor vehicles run north.

……………………….

At 12th Street the orange nets again were used, this time to box in protesters between University Place and Fifth Avenue. About 3 p.m., more than two dozen people sat, handcuffed, on the sidewalk.

Nearby, two other protesters standing handcuffed on Fifth Avenue told a reporter that they had both been arrested on sidewalks and were not aware of having broken any law.

“They put up orange nets and tried to kettle us and we started running and they started tackling random people and handcuffing them,” said Kelly Brannon, 27, of Ridgewood, Queens. “They were herding us like cattle.”

Next to her, David Smith, from Maine, said that he had been chanting “Let them go” as people were handcuffed, and was then arrested by a senior officer who told him that he was being charged with obstructing governmental administration.

Many demonstrators made their way back down to Zuccotti Park, where they were joined by new arrivals. “Right now we are more determined than ever that what we are doing is necessary and correct,” said Patrick Bruner, a spokesman for the protesters.

New rules posted in the park on Saturday seemed aimed at the protesters. In addition to bicycle riding, camping gear and sleeping bags were now also banned.

Am I wrong here?

Watching the video of another Leftist bully, Stephen Hanks, act like a common thug verbally attack Bristol Palin, I found myself  wishing that someone would walk up, and bust this ass hat in his smug face. Or at the very least I would like to see a man get in this punks face. I do not like violence, really I do not. I do however think that jerks like this clown truly deserve an ass whipping. Seriously, a grown man cursing at a kid? calling her mother, and her vile names? And for no other reason than he disagrees with their politics?

There is a point, I guess, where I feel that someone has to confront a bully, and I see too little of that these days. I have done so a few times and no fight ever ensued. I doubt this clown would start throwing punches either. So, am I wrong to want bullies and thugs confronted?

How sad that a great talent is so obsessed with skin color

I am a big fan of Morgan Freeman, I love his acting, and it is really sad to hear him spew the BS the race pimps at the DNC and NAACP dish out. I really thought he was smarter than this. video via Doug Powers who gives Morgan some reality

News flash for Freeman: In every presidential election, the opposing party is trying to “do everything they can to get that other guy outta there.” Even the white ones.

Freeman might also want to have a chat with many former Obama supporters who are white, but who have somehow, by Freeman’s definition, suffered Sudden Racism Syndrome.
