Noted Douchebag makes his pitch for a gig on MSNBS

The douchebag, of course, being Jon Huntsman, who I have predicted will ride his abysmal bid for the White House all the way to a part time job giving Chris Matthews legs a thrill

“You know what I want to say to you? Thank you for your service. Thank you for your service, for being the same man in the Republican Party. It reminds us there’s actually someone who has their feet on the ground.”

Maybe these two need to get a room

A sneek peak at Ed’s Halloween costume

Y’all might not know that Ed Daley, my blogging partner, is REALLY into Halloween. This year, I offer up a glimpse of his costume, somehow Weasel Zippers got it

O.K., actually that is not Ed, but, I do have good news, The Queen of the Food Police has granted us all permission to eat candy the Halloween.

(The Stir) — Forget the cost of candy and the spooky costumes. The scariest part of Halloween for Mom comes at the end of the night, when that heaping helping of sugar is dumped on the living room floor and the kids dive in. Who better to help you handle the holiday without being a candy-skipping grinch than First Lady Michelle Obama?

She is, after all, the mom behind the national childhood obesity-fighting initiative Let’s Move. We’ve seen her hula hooping on the White House lawn to make exercise fun. So here at The Stir, we wanted to know what the president’s wife thinks of the sugar-fueled frenzy that is October 31. What she told our very own Tracy Odell during a session at the White House might surprise you.

Sasha and Malia Obama get their candy fix on Halloween just like the rest of the kids in America! And our First Lady thinks that’s the way it ought to be:

Our philosophy is if you live right every day — and I shouldn’t say “right,” but if you make good choices every day — I tell this to my girls all the time — that when it’s time for the holidays and the fun stuff and the birthday party, that you don’t have to worry about it because you’re doing what you’re supposed to do every single day. So we really talk about daily choices that they’re making, and balance. Right? Because I don’t want them to have to worry about how much candy they eat on Halloween.

Is this RAAAAACIST?

Naw! Of course not, But imagine if this were Fox questioning President Obama’s intellect. Just imagine………..

And by the way, this is not RAAAAACIST either!

This, however is clearly RAAAAACIST!

Do the Democrats really care about the “working American”?

Well, as Milton Wolf points out, using Harry Reid’s own words, that depends. whether or not you work for the government. You private sector workers? Not so much!

“It’s very clear that private-sector jobs have been doing just fine; it’s the public-sector jobs where we’ve lost huge numbers, and that’s what this legislation is all about.”

Harry Reid (D-NV), United States Senator from ...

Screw the private sector

Not Again: Stimulus Money Went To Car Company… In Finland

Not Again: Stimulus Money Went To Car Company… In Finland – Townhall

Good news! Over half a million dollars in stimulus funding has gone towards building an electric car company and producing hundreds of manufacturing jobs!

Only problem? It’s in Finland.

……………………….

Ouch.

In a stunningly wasteful move, apparently made with no research, the Obama administration approved a loan to Fisker Karma, makers of sporty electric vehicles… that can’t even be produced in the US.

Vice President Joseph Biden heralded the Energy Department’s $529 million loan to the start-up electric car company called Fisker as a bright new path to thousands of American manufacturing jobs. But two years after the loan was announced, the job of assembling the flashy electric Fisker Karma sports car has been outsourced to Finland.

“There was no contract manufacturer in the U.S. that could actually produce our vehicle,” the car company’s founder and namesake told ABC News. “They don’t exist here.”

And what would yet another botched Obama green-jobs-stimulus measure be without cronyism… starring Mr. Green Fallacies himself:

The loan to Fisker is part of a $1 billion bet the Energy Department has made in two politically connected California-based electric carmakers producing sporty – and pricey – cutting-edge autos. Fisker Automotive, backed by a powerhouse venture capital firm whose partners include former Vice President Al Gore, predicts it will eventually be churning out tens of thousands of electric sports sedans at the shuttered GM factory it bought in Delaware. And Tesla Motors, whose prime backers include PayPal mogul Elon Musk and Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, says it will do the same in a massive facility tooling up in Silicon Valley.

Company executives insist they’re not another Solyndra, and that they’ve take great pains to avoid squandering funds as the failed solar panel manufacturer did:

In a lengthy interview, Fisker said he apprised the Department of Energy of his decision to assemble the high-priced Karma in Finland after he could not find an American facility that could handle the work. They signed off, he said, so long as he did not spend the federal loan money in Finland – something he says the company has taken care to avoid.

OK, great. The company didn’t spend its money in Finland. But that doesn’t change the fact that the point of the exercise was, ostensibly, to create jobs in America. If the factory itself is in Finland, then clearly the Obama administration still failed, and doled out a bad loan.

Furthermore, there is widespread speculation that the start-up car companies won’t meet preset production quotas – meaning taxpayers money will have, yet again, been wasted:

Yet an audit this year by the Government Accountability Office, the investigative arm of Congress, criticized the Energy Department for not keeping close enough tabs on its fleet of auto loans – including those to Fisker and Tesla – to ensure they meet benchmarks. The funding was issued under the $25 billion Advanced Technology Vehicles Manufacturing loan program, one piece of a giant umbrella of DOE loans and loan guarantees going out the door.

“DOE cannot be assured that the projects are on track to deliver the vehicles as agreed,” said the GAO report examining the department’s ATVM program. “It also means that U.S. taxpayers do not know whether they are getting what they paid for through the loans.”

Yikes. If this is Obama’s idea of a good investment, I hestitate to ask what his stock portfolios look like.

Obama Job Approval Average Slides To New Low In 11th Quarter

Obama Job Approval Average Slides To New Low In 11th Quarter – Gallup

President Barack Obama’s 11th quarter in office was the worst of his administration, based on his quarterly average job approval ratings. His 41% approval average is down six percentage points from his 10th quarter in office, and is nearly four points below his previous low of 45% during his seventh quarter.

These results are based on Gallup Daily tracking from July 20-Oct. 19, 2011. During this time, Obama’s approval rating ranged narrowly between 38% and 43% for all but a few days of the quarter. The 38% approval ratings, registered on several occasions, are the lowest of his presidency to date.

The most notable event in Obama’s 11th quarter was probably the negotiations to raise the federal debt ceiling in late July and early August. Shortly after the agreement was reached, the stock market plummeted after Standard and Poor’s downgraded the U.S. credit rating. Later, the government’s jobs report showed no new net jobs were created in August, a sign the economy was still a long way from recovery.

Report: Michele Bachmann’s Entire New Hampshire Staff Quits

Report: Michele Bachmann’s Entire New Hampshire Staff Quits – The Blaze

Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann’s entire New Hampshire paid staff has quit, local station WMUR-TV reported Friday.

……………………….

According to Reuters, the six staffers said their resignations aren’t due to a lack of support for the Minnesota congresswoman, but rather due to her campaign’s perceived lack of focus and commitment in the state ahead of its primary.

One staff member is said to have already come aboard Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s presidential campaign, Fox News reported.

Hours after the report emerged, Bachmann told Iowa Radio it wasn’t true.

“That is a shocking story to me,” she said. “I don’t know where that came from. We have called staff in New Hampshire to find out where that came from and the staff have said that isn’t true, so I don’t know if this is just a bad story that’s being fed by a different candidate or campaign. I have no idea where this came from, but we’ve made calls and it’s certainly not true.”

Despite Bachmann’s words to the contrary, various media reports surfaced Friday that the resignations had been confirmed.

Jeff Chidester, who was Bachmann’s New Hampshire campaign director, told the National Journal the staff was planning to release a joint statement formally announcing their departures.

“We are more than a team, we have all bonded over the past few months,” Chidester said. “This is one of the finest group of people I have every had the pleasure of working with. Each one of them is smart, dedicated, and committed to each other. We have not had an opportunity to talk to each other since the story broke, but once we do, we will release a joint statement.”

Just two weeks ago, Bachmann shuttered her Virginia campaign office, due to what her spokeswoman said was an inconvenient location.

She most recently saw her campaign manager, deputy campaign manager and pollster quit in September and early October.

Bachmann has focused much of her campaign efforts in Iowa, where she won the Ames straw poll in August. She has since fallen behind her fellow candidates in national polls, garnering just 4 percent support among Republicans in an Associated Press/GfK poll released Thursday.

She raised $4.1 million between July and September, far behind Perry and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney’s $17.2 million and $14.2 million, respectively.

Then they came for your Halloween decorations

Chris offers up the latest intrusion on basic liberty by the Nanny Statists.

A Brooklyn homeowner hung a scarecrow by a rope from a tree in his yard. A local councilman decided it was “racist,” mainly because it reminded him of “lynching.” Maybe it was, maybe it wasn’t — several neighbors said the homeowner really gets into Halloween and meant no harm.

But in Brooklyn there is a Right To Not Be Offended.

“It’s unacceptable,” said Charles Barron (D-Brooklyn). “You ain’t speaking for this whole community because some people on this block came by and said it was offensive. They came and said it was offensive. It’s not a cool decoration.”

Police settled the dispute by removing the scarecrow figure from the tree.

Got that? It’s “offensive” so NYPD confiscated it. From private property. Without Due Process.

That my friends is the very definition of fascism.

Chris is right. Sure some folks might say, “come on, they are just decorations, no one’s rights are being violated”  but think of the principles at stake here. Those principles are highlighted in red above.

Another important point is that Charles Barron is a vile racist himself, just Goggle him, see what you find. It is always the Leftists like Barron who are trampling basic liberties for their own gain.

President Asshat Pulls All References To Islam From Terror Training Materials – Daily Caller

Deputy U.S. Attorney General James Cole confirmed on Wednesday that President Asshat was pulling back all training materials used for the law enforcement and national security communities, in order to eliminate all references to Islam that some Muslim groups have claimed are offensive.

……………………….

“I recently directed all components of the Department of Justice to re-evaluate their training efforts in a range of areas, from community outreach to national security,” Cole told a panel at the George Washington University law school.

The move comes after complaints from the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) and others identified as Muslim Brotherhood front groups in the 2004 Holy Land Foundation terror fundraising trial.

In a Wednesday Los Angeles Times op-ed, Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) president Salam al-Marayati threatened the FBI with a total cutoff of cooperation between American Muslims and law enforcement if the agency failed to revise its law enforcement training materials.

Maintaining the training materials in their current state “will undermine the relationship between law enforcement and the Muslim American community,” al-Marayati wrote.

Multiple online sources detail MPAC’s close alignment with CAIR.

In his op-ed, Al-Marayati demanded that the Justice Department and the FBI “issue a clear and unequivocal apology to the Muslim American community” and “establish a thorough and transparent vetting process in selecting its trainers and materials.”

Specifically, al-Marayati called for a new “interagency task force” to review the training materials – a task force including representatives of the Islamist organizations the FBI is tasked with monitoring.

Some believe President Asshat’s Justice Department will go even further.

“The Attorney General has announced what sounds like reprogramming if they find people who have actually received training” that Islamist groups find objectionable, Center for Security Policy president Frank Gaffney told The Daily Caller. Gaffney is co-author of a report, published by the Center, titled “Sharia: The Threat to America.”

Dwight C. Holton, the U.S. Attorney in Oregon said he had spoken with Holder directly about the issue of the terror training materials. Holton is the federal prosecutor who announced the arrest of so-called “Christmas tree bomber” Mohamed Osman Mohamud in 2010. That announcement made no mention of Mohamud’s Muslim faith.

“I want to be perfectly clear about this: training materials that portray Islam as a religion of violence or with a tendency towards violence are wrong, they are offensive, and they are contrary to everything that this president, this attorney general and Department of Justice stands for,” Holton said Wednesday. “They will not be tolerated.”

Such training materials “pose a significant threat to national security, because they play into the false narrative propagated by terrorists that the United States is at war with Islam,” he added.

In a Sept. 12 letter to White House counterterrorism chief John Brennan in September, Democratic Senate Homeland Security committee chair Joe Lieberman and ranking Republican member Susan Collins called for “meaningful standards” to govern counterterrorism training materials.

“Proper training about violent Islamist extremism is absolutely essential for our law enforcement personnel in order to empower them to identify and understand this grave threat, and then protect the American people from it,” the senators wrote. “Part of this training must be an understanding of the clear and profound difference between Islamist extremism, which is a totalitarian political ideology that is at war with us, and Islam, which is a religion practiced by more than a billion people around the world, including millions of law-abiding and loyal Americans.”

FBI analyst William Gawthrup is one of several experts on Islam whose training materials arouse the ire of the Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated groups. At the beginning of a videotaped presentation showing one of his training modules, Gawthrup makes exactly the same distinction demanded by Sen. Lieberman. The video was published online in June.

“Understand that what we are going to be doing is looking at Islam as an ideology, not as a religion,” Gawthrup says in the video.

“What’s the difference? Religion is man’s relationship to his deity. In the United States, we protect it under the first amendment. We’re going to set it aside. We are not going to discuss religion. We are going to discuss Islam as an ideology – man’s relationship to other men.”

“We’re going to be discussing that component of Islam that is nonreligious,” Gawthrup adds. “That component comprises about 83 percent of the ideology. Islam is only about 17 percent religious. The other 83 percent discusses the relationship [of Muslims] with the non-Islamic world.”

Now President Asshat is establishing an advisory panel to vet terror-training materials for law enforcement and the intelligence community “that is comprised of people from the same organizations that are cited as unindicted co-conspirators in the Holy Land Foundation terror fund-raising trial,” according to Gaffney.

Reviewing these decisions at a forum about Sharia on Thursday, former Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew C. McCarthy said the effort to include such groups as reviewers of training materials would have a “paralyzing” effect on law enforcement.

“What you’re doing is empowering the worst elements of the American Islamic community, which are the leadership elements linked to the Muslim Brotherhood, and you’re selling out the rank and file of American Muslims,” McCarthy said.
