Is it that time of the year already?

It is time, once more, for the anti-Christmas nuts to crawl out from under their rocks and make the holidays hell! Silverfiddle ponders these miscreants, and their hatred of Santa

Would someone please explain to these dingbats that Santa Claus is not a religious figure?

“Because of our state affiliation, we decided not to have a Santa presence this year,” Hollings spokeswoman Vicky Agnew said. Hollings is a part of the Medical University of South Carolina.

Decorations will be “more secular and respectful to all beliefs,” Agnew said. “We don’t want to offend a volunteer with good intentions, but we need to think of the bigger picture. People who are Muslim or Jewish or have no religious beliefs come here for treatment,” she said. (Cancer Center’s Santa Gets the Boot)

First off, I really doubt any atheists, Jews or Muslims would be offended by the Jolly Old Elf, who is after all NOT A RELIGIOUS FIGURE!

And of course, even when the ACLU is not involved, it’s influence still hangs in the air like a noxious, flatulent cloud…

The director of the state chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union declined comment but pointed to the association’s national website. It said while “some limited governmental celebrations of Christmas are not per se unconstitutional … the burden for the government to show that its activities do not have the purpose or effect of endorsing a religious message is high.”

Frankly, I think their goal is to attack anything that is an American tradition, or that is part of American culture. These people, ultimately hate America as much as they hate God.

And never forget that nothing chaps the ass of a radical Atheist than the fact that America is based upon freedoms, INCLUDING the freedom of religion that come from, God. Yes, that is right, the liberty NOT to believe comes not from government, but from GOD! That drives some Atheists crazy!

WHOA!!!!!!!!!!!!

Via The Real Revo comes these four minutes of WHEEEEEEEEEEEE

About those “non-existent” death panels………….

Bunkerville, who is now on our blogroll has audio of Mark Levin talking to a neurosurgeon about this issue. CHILLING!

In one of the most chilling phone calls that Mark has ever had, last night was something else. A Neurosurgeon had just attended a meeting with Government representatives. They let the group of Neurosurgeons know what they were in for. After age 70, no Neurosurgery will be the effect of the new rules coming down. People are no longer called people. We are now called Units. Comfort care is what we get. All to de-humanize us.I was hoping someone had snagged this, and indeed someone did.

Comfort care? In other words, we will fluff your pillow and let you die if you are over 70 and need neurosurgical care. If this is true, then, well, I wonder what other measures for who gets care and who gets “comforted” will be applied to Americans, er units. of course, as Western Hero points out, some of us can “buy” our way out of ObamaCare I guess supporting the emperor can really save you life huh?

Michael Barone asks…

If Obamacare is so great, why do so many people want to get out from under it?

He goes on to make some excellent points about how passing a law and then selling exemptions to it is a fundamental violation of the Rule of Law. (Yes, I said sell. Organizations don’t give candidates and political parties campaign contributions just for the fun of it.)

Of course, for those who will shake their heads and say that there is no way our government would allow such barbarity, consider that our government heavily subsidizes Planned Parenthood, which makes a LOT of money by killing the inconvenient

(Life News) — Catherine Adair, a former Planned Parenthood staffer in Boston, has written a new column in the Washington Examiner about her experience and says the abortion business is really concerned about one thing: abortion.

Adair has begun to speak out recently about her experiences and, previously, credited Abby Johnson leaving her post as the director of a Texas-based Planned Parenthood abortion facility with inspiring her to share her own story of getting out of the abortion industry. [...]

“My time there was not spent providing prenatal care to pregnant women, providing counseling or basic health care services or educating women about reproductive health. Instead, I spent my days urging women to terminate their pregnancies. My superiors constantly reminded me of our abortion-centered business model: abortions first, everything else came second,” she writes. “I began to recognize their emphasis on performing abortions each time a woman would express concern or have second thoughts about having an abortion. When I notified management, though, they told me not to worry and encourage her decision to move ahead with the procedure.”

This is what ALWAYS happens when we subjugate individual liberties for the common good. Our Founders formed a nation based on individual rights. Natural rights Franklin called them, Rights that are part of our natural condition. Rights that no government can take away. George Mason, and Thomas Jefferson wrote of these rights, chief among them were LIFE, LIBERTY, and the PURSUIT of HAPPINESS!

Marx, and his followers, and you are right to count Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Waxman and other Liberal politicians among them, do not believe as our Founders did. They believe the individual has certain rights, but these rights are conditional. They are conditional as long as the government, acting in the name of the common good, allow these rights to remain.

For the Marxist, there is no higher power than government, and all rights come from government. And the fact is, what government “gives” be it the right to speak, assemble, own firearms, or the “right” to health care, the same government can restrict, limit, or also take away entirely.

God help us.

I think Chris Wysocki and I watched the same debate

Chris sums up last night’s debate pretty well.

I know I’m gonna take some heat, but good God man, what was Ron Paul thinking?

The Taliban only wants to fight us “over there?” Well sure dude, if you don’t count those 4 hijacked airplanes and two demolished buildings. Other than that there’s, oh I don’t know, only a coupla dozen Islamic nutjobs who’ve brought jihad to within pissing distance of my front porch. That’s “over there,” if you’re Ron Paul.

To the sane though, it’s out there, which is where he belongs. Compared to Ron Paul even Jon Huntsman looks credible.

SPOT ON!! Paul has let his idealism override his common sense. He sounds like a typical liberal when he talks foreign policy.

When Newt came out for Amnesty Mitt didn’t say “boo.” Jump on Rick Perry, Mitt did, for the same stance, but Newtie gets a pass?

I caught this too, maybe Mitt has some personal issue with Perry, or, maybe it is all strategy, who knows

I actually thought that Perry had the best response to the illegal alien issue. Secure the border, then decide who stays and who goes. An unsecure border is an incentive, and it sends the wrong message.

I agree, securing the border FIRST is the only way to even start. Nothing matters as long as the border is unsecure.

This last part, I also agree with. Chris advises Bachmann, Santorum, and that the MSNBS fave, Huntsman would pull out. Frankly, I would, sadly, add Cain to that list as well. He has NOTHING in the area of foreign policy, foreign policy is kind of a big deal for presidents.

Also, with those four out, we can avoid splitting all those Conservative votes. Those votes being split will help Romney get nominated. Sorry, but it is time for some of these Conservatives to admit that, for the good of the party…………..

Two More Slimeballs Added To List Of Georgia Democrats Indicted For Voter Fraud

Two More Slimeballs Added To List Of Georgia Democrats Indicted For Voter Fraud – WALB

Two additional people have been indicted in the Brooks County Board of Education election case.

Brenda Monds and Debra Dennard have been added to ten other defendants in the case, who were arrested in Dec. of 2010. The “Quitman Ten,” as they have come to be known in the community, face multiple counts related to possible voter fraud.

In addition, all of the original ten defendants who were arrested have been indicted for additional charges as indicated by documents received from the Brooks County Courthouse:

— Angela Bryant, 50, a current member of the Brooks County Board of Education, is charged with four counts of unlawful possession of ballots and three counts of violation of procedure for voting by absentee ballots.

— April Proctor, 31, is charged with eight counts of unlawful possession of ballots and two counts of violation of procedure for voting by absentee ballots.

— Brenda Monds is charged with three counts of unlawful possession of ballots.

— Debra Dennard is charged with two counts of unlawful possession of ballots and two counts of violation of procedure for voting by absentee ballots.

— Lula Smart, 49, is charged with 25 counts of unlawful possession of ballots and seven counts of violation of procedure for voting by absentee ballots.

— Kechia Harrison, 38, is charged with 11 counts of unlawful possession of ballots and six counts of violation of procedure for voting by absentee ballots.

— Robert Dennard, 37, is charged with nine counts of unlawful possession of ballots and two counts of violation of procedure for voting by absentee ballots.

— Sandra Cody, 47, is charged with two counts of unlawful possession of ballots and two counts of violation of procedure for voting by absentee ballots.

— Elizabeth Thomas, 52, is charged with five counts of unlawful possession of ballots and three counts of violation of procedure for voting by absentee ballots.

— Linda Troutman, 57, is charged with five counts of unlawful possession of ballots and two counts of violation of procedure for voting by absentee ballots.

— Latashia Head, 36, is charged with three counts of unlawful possession of ballots and two counts of violation of procedure for voting by absentee ballots.

— Nancy Dennard, 50, is charged with eight counts of unlawful possession of ballots and three counts of violation of procedure for voting by absentee ballots.

None of the defendants returned calls from the Times.

After seven months of waiting to see if the federal government would be pursuing the case, on Aug. 1, Lowndes County District Attorney David Miller wrote a letter to the Georgia Attorney General’s

Office disqualifying his office from the prosecution.

“I felt that since Brad (Shealy) is my Chief Assistant and was removed as Chairman of the Board of Education on Jan. 1, it was prudent to recuse our office so as to avoid any allegation of a ‘political prosecution’ by our office,” said Miller in an e-mail to the Times. “I also told the AG’s office that since we had not been given an answer from the Feds, whoever was assigned the case might want to consider whether it was in the best interests of the people of Brooks County to go ahead and proceed with a state prosecution.”

While no court date has been set for the trial, South Georgia Circuit District Attorney Joe Mulholland has been appointed by the Attorney General’s Office to serve as the special prosecutor.

Two-term Brooks County Board of Education member Frank Thomas believed the indicted board members were good and honest.

“I’m not saying they couldn’t have made a mistake registering people or spelling a name wrong, or what have you, but to go as far as going out of the way and cheating – I don’t believe that,” said Thomas.

The election marked the first time in history that minorities held the most seats on the Brooks County School Board. Thomas said that things have gotten easier and certain personnel issues have been addressed because of this change.

George Boston Rhynes of Valdosta has been following the case and has heard stories from the community about GBI (Georgia Bureau of Investigation) intimidation. Thomas said he had heard the same stories.

“We are a majority, but we are a fair majority,” said Thomas. “All of us are current educators or retired educators. These are top-notch people in the community that are highly respected.”

Pelosi Whines About Catholics Having “This Conscience Thing”

Pelosi Whines About Catholics Having “This Conscience Thing” – Hot Air

Maybe she’s just jealous they have something she doesn’t…

According to LifeNews.com, Nancy Pelosi is upset that the U.S. Catholic bishops wouldn’t approve if the Obama administration did, in fact, decide to force insurance companies to cover birth control, contraception and drugs that could cause abortions. The bishops say that, under such a decision, some religious groups might have to provide the insurance against their moral and religious views.

……………………….

Given the Catholic Church’s ban on contraception, the bishops’ position shouldn’t come as a surprise to Ms. Pelosi – but she still manages to be baffled by their concern for conscience protections for health insurers who might not want to have to cover birth control just to be able to provide other types of health insurance.

Similarly, she was skeptical earlier this year that Republicans would fight for conscience protections for health care providers out of any noble motive. Republicans must want women to “die on the floor,” she said, just because they don’t want to compel health care providers to assist with abortions.

She still thinks that – only more so, if that could possibly be.

“[Those who disagree] may not like the language,’’ she told The Washington Post, “but the truth is what I said. I’m a devout Catholic and I honor my faith and love it… but they have this conscience thing [that puts women at risk.]”

Shame on us! How dare we have a conscience!

Another little anecdote Pelosi told WaPo suggests the former speaker is also put out whenever a Catholic gives the pope’s positions on life more credence than they do hers. Nancy Pelosi knows the personal experience of motherhood as the pope never could – but that doesn’t mean she can reject his authority and credibly call herself Catholic. It means more to be Catholic than to just attend a Catholic Church. The authority of the magisterium is arguably the linchpin on which all other Catholic apologetics hang – and Pelosi’s repeated disregard for it makes me cringe when I read a quote from her to the effect that she loves and honors her faith. I’m not saying she has to be Catholic – just saying she should be honest with herself (and us!) about whether she is.

It Figures… Atheists Want Cross Removed From Marine Base

Atheists Want Cross Removed From Marine Base – Daily Caller

An atheist group is demanding a 13-foot cross, erected at Camp Pendleton by an independent group of Iraq War veterans and two Marine widows, be removed out of concerns that it makes non-Christians in the military feel like “second class citizens.”

Jason Torpy of Military Association of Atheists and Freethinkers (MAAF), the group which has been at the forefront of a fight against the cross, told The Daily Caller that MAAF is trying to protect the separation of church and state and ensure the military is inclusive of all beliefs.

……………

“It’s an important message that we certainly respect veterans because we are veterans and we have active duty personnel,” Torpy said. “They can have a war memorial – that is fine. But if it is a Christian memorial, it needs to be on private land. That is the long and the short of it.”

According to Camp Pendleton, legal authorities are currently investigating the situation, and upon completion of the review, will send their findings up the chain of command.

“As Marines, we are proud to honor our fallen brothers, and are also proud of our extended Marine Corps family,” Pendleton wrote in a statement to TheDC. “However, it is important to follow procedure and use appropriate processes for doing this in a correct manner to protect the sentiment from question as well as be good stewards of our taxpayer dollars.”

The cross, put up on Veterans Day, replaced a cross erected in 2003 that burned in a base wildfire years later. The new cross is made of fire-retardant material in the hope that it will not meet its predecessor’s fate.

“We wanted them all to know that they’ll always be in our hearts, that they’ll never be forgotten,” Staff Sgt. Justin Rettenberger, one of the Marines who put up the cross on Veterans Day, told the LA Times.

According to Rettenberger, the cross is dedicated to the memory of Maj. Douglas Zembiec, Maj. Ray Mendoza, Lance Cpl. Aaron Austin and Lance Cpl. Robert Zurheide – “all great warriors” killed in Iraq.

While Pendleton is deliberating the legality of the cross – noting that the individual who put up the cross were not active duty, but private citizens – MAAF is demanding that the cross be taken down immediately.

“Those commanders are not there to promote Christianity, they are there to carry out the Marine mission,” Torpy, a West Point graduate who spent ten years in the Army, including tours of duty in Iraq and Kuwait, said.

Despite the complaints, which according to the base’s public affairs office has amounted to two emails of displeasure, no lawsuits have been reported.

Torpy told TheDC that while his group’s focus is not legal action, there are groups who could potentially take up a legal complaint against Pendleton. He would not, however, speculate as to who that might be.

The conservative American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) has written a letter to Camp Pendleton’s commanding officer, Col. Nicholas F. Marano, in support of the cross. ACLJ argued that the crosses are a “universal symbol of remembrance” and cited historical precedent for this type of display not violating the Establishment Clause.

“[T]he Constitution does not prohibit honoring fallen troops through the use of an historic symbol merely because that symbol also carries religious significance,” wrote ACLJ. “Given the memorial’s history and context, it is clear that it is not intended to proselytize for any faith. It is meant to honor and commemorate the sacrifice of those who have given the ultimate sacrifice,” the letter concluded.

Randall Hamud, a civil rights activist and San Diego lawyer, took a different view in an opinion article published this week, writing that the cross is indubitably a violation of the Establish Clause due to its placement on federal land.

“Had this scenario unfolded on private land, nobody could question its propriety. However, their project was carried out on public property – Camp Pendleton is a military base owned by the federal government,” Hamud wrote. “When they erected their cross on that hilltop, they violated the Establishment Clause of the U.S. Constitution – the very Constitution for which those four fallen Marines – and all of our fallen military personnel in all of our wars – sacrificed their lives.”

As Pendleton continues to deliberate, the cross’s fate is uncertain.

“It cannot be determined at this time if the cross will be allowed to stay,” Pendleton’s Office of Public Affairs wrote in a statement provided to TheDC. “Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton is aware of the memorial cross emplacement and the activity is currently being reviewed by legal staff. Upon completion of the review, findings will be forwarded up the appropriate chain of command.”

Oh, Al Gore is NOT going to take this well at all

Gore’s head explodes in 3,2,1……..

The Telegraph blogger James Delingpole reports, a case of deja vu is happening as a second round of emails has been leaked, featuring some of the same scientists including Michael Mann, Phil Jones, Ben Santer, Tom Wigley, Kevin Trenberth and Keith Briffa. The British university whose leaked emails caused a global climate science controversy in 2009 says it has discovered a potentially much larger data breach and confirms that the emails are real but they are old. Scientists involved are again saying that they are being taken out of context.

The Telegraph has more:

[...] what these emails confirm is that the great man-made global warming scare is not about science but about political activism. This, it seems, is what motivated the whistleblower ‘FOIA 2011’ (or “thief”, as the usual suspects at RealClimate will no doubt prefer to tar him or her) to go public.

FOIA 2011, whomever that is, says he has more than 220,000 emails and here are just a few choice ones pulled together by The Telegraph:

Here is a gloriously revealing string of emails in which activists and global warming research groups discuss how best to manipulate reality so that climate change looks more scary and dangerous than it really is:

Fakers!
