Duane Lester points to yet another disastrously stupid move by Team Obama

As Jim Hoft notes at Gateway Pundit, this last November, our pals the Soviets Russians (same difference) announced they were going to maybe, I don’t know, target U.S. missile defense sites:

Russia threatened on Wednesday to deploy missiles to target the U.S. missile shield in Europe if Washington fails to assuage Moscow’s concerns about its plans, a harsh warning that reflected deep cracks in U.S.-Russian ties despite President Barack Obama’s efforts to “reset” relations with the Kremlin.

President Dmitry Medvedev said he still hopes for a deal with the U.S. on missile defense, but he strongly accused Washington and its NATO allies of ignoring Russia’s worries. He said Russia will have to take military countermeasures if the U.S. continues to build the shield without legal guarantees that it will not be aimed against Russia.

In response, President Obama decided it would be best if America simply shared secrets about the missile tech so the Russians would see it’s limitations, as long as they promise not to go sharing those secrets with anyone.

Officials from the State Department and Missile Defense Agency have discussed the idea of providing the SM-3 data to the Russians as part of the so-far fruitless missile-defense talks with Moscow, headed in part of by Undersecretary of State Ellen Tauscher, who defense officials say is a critic of U.S. missile defenses.

Their thinking is that if the Russians know the technical data, it will help allay Moscow’s fears that the planned missile defenses in Europe would be used against Russian ICBMs. Officials said current SM-3s are not fast enough to catch long-range Russian missiles, but a future variant may have some anti-ICBM capabilities.

The president also must certify to Congress that Russia will not share the secrets with other states and that it will not help Russia “to develop countermeasures” to U.S. defenses.

Good grief! If, and it is a HUGE if, our “leader” had any balls at all his response to Russia would have been simple. Yes, we are putting those missile shields up, and no, we do not give a rats ass if you like it or not! Instead, Obama bowed like a coward and weakened our nation. That seems to be the common theme with Obama doesn’t it? Weaken our economy, our relationships with our allies our military, our standing in the world. I think you get the picture.
