The despicability of the tragedy pimps

23 Mar

One of the most sickening things I can think of is how some people, usually Leftists, will try to use anything, even a tragedy, for some political gain. Take for example, the death of Travon Martin. Donald Douglas blogged about this today, and he echoes many of my feelings

Actually, I’m not criticizing the outrage over this shooting. What I am criticizing is the left’s politicization of it. See Gateway Pundit, “It Begins… Far Left Media Ties Trayvon Martin Killing to Rush Limbaugh (Video).” Follow the link there to MSNBC analyst and Democratic strategist Karen Finney, who makes an aggressive attempt link the GOP presidential candidates to the death of Trayvon Martin.

Newsbustersreported:

MSNBC analyst and Democratic strategist Karen Finney disgustingly smeared Rush Limbaugh and several Republican presidential candidates on Thursday, charging that the racist hate of these conservatives had “lethal consequences” in the case of Trayvon Martin, an African American teen shot in Florida.

After decrying “bigotry and stereotypes tak[ing] over our better judgment,” Finney sneeringly insisted that when “Rush Limbaugh calls a presidential candidate, Senator Barack Obama, a magic negro…In the case of Trayvon, those festering stereotypes had lethal consequences.”

How low are these miscreants willing to go? Karen Finney ought to be ashamed of herself. She does not give a flip about Travon Martin, or his grieving parents. Frankly, I do not see how a person like her sleeps at night. Back to Donald Douglas’s piece though

It’s sick and disgusting and really has no place in the discussion. (And don’t even get me started on this: Farrakhan Tweets: ‘Where There Is No Justice, There Will Be No Peace…Law of Retaliation May…Be Applied’.”)

Farrakhan and his followers are boils on the ass of this nation. Sorry, but that is the hard truth. Of course, the Left or their willing lapdogs in the media will never call Farrakhan on his outright call to violence will they?

And while it’s elevated, the discussion from last night’s PBS NewsHour isn’t that much better. I’m interested especially in the commentary from The Altantic‘s racial-grivance columnist Ta-Nehisi Coates, who is interviewed. Listening to the guy he’s clearly less impressive an intellectual when one actually hears his patter on television. He sounds not much more than a homie with a suit. Worse though is this Donna Britt lady, who says “Thank God” Treyvon Martin “looks like a kid … he looks like someone who is young and vulnerable and who matters. And that’s part of the reason why people have responded so much…” That’s really cold and offensive — it wouldn’t matter if the victim was a genuine black thug? — and it’s a way for black intellectuals to completely discount — even hide — the real pathologies in the black community. For example, I’m no fan of Geraldo Rivero, but I think he’s right to point out that the way the boy was dressed could have been a factor in his killing. So notice the discrepancy here: A black intellectual confesses that we should thank God that the boy wasn’t an invulnerable hardened criminal, and that’s “part of the reason people have responded so much,” but when Geraldo Rivera speaks out on gangsta attire that’s victim blaming.” Honestly, only on the left do you see these kinds of disgusting double standards.

Once more, the heartlessness of the Left is exposed. Rather than mourning a young life tragically lost, they only seem to care about how they can pimp that tragedy for their own gain. What a sorry bunch of bastards!

The mere fact that Al Sharpton and Louis Farrakhan are calling for the prosecution of George Zimmerman is enough reason for me to strongly suspect he did nothing illegal.
