The Leftists are like Ideological Crack Dealers

This piece by The Lonely Conservative got me thinking. She points out, rightly, that the Cloward-Piven strategy worked in last week’s French and Greek elections.

Most people who believe in freedom and free markets are probably wondering how on Earth France could have voted in an openly socialist president, and the Greeks voted Neo-Nazis into power. Don’t these people realize how perilous their situation is? Why would they vote this way, rather than vote for politicians who will cut spending, cut government debt and put their countries on a path to solvency and economic prosperity?

The answer is simple. They are voting for politicians who have promised to keep the gravy train rolling, consequences be damned. It’s the Cloward-Piven strategy in action – get enough people on the government dole and they will vote to keep the benefits they’ve grown used to.

BINGO! I have believed for a while now that this is the NUMBER ONE aim of the Democrats here in America. Like a crack dealer they seek to make as man of us as dependent upon government as possible. They know, that once hooked, the people will be very loathe to break the cycle of dependence. Now, consider how Obama and the Democrats have increased  government jobs the last three plus years. Think of how much they have hammered the class warfare rhetoric. And it will not end in 2017 if Obama is reelected either. This is a long-term strategy to keep Liberals in power for decades.

Once the government provides jobs, or benefits for a majority of Americans, then there will likely be no turning back. As government dependence grows, people will feel an increased pressure to continue to vote Democrat. And need I say where that road eventually leads?
