The more we know about the Joe Soptic ad, the worse President Obama looks

Here’s the Obama campaign ad featuring laid off steelworker Joe Soptic, the guy who’s wife died of cancer. This ran about May 15th. Notice how he’s wearing the same sweater as the one he’s wearing in libelous Priorities USA ad now dominating the headlines:

AS many now know, Team Obama knew ALL about Soptic, they used him in the ad above! Yet they denied they knew anything about Soptic, until enough lights were shone on the truth. Now, they have decided, finally, to be honest

Obama campaign spokeswoman Jen Psaki acknowledged Thursday that the campaign was no longer pleading ignorance about the story of a man who has appeared in both a super PAC ad and a campaign ad.

“No one is denying he was in one of our campaign ads. He was on a conference call telling his story,” Psaki told reporters on Air Force One.

Missouri steelworker Joe Soptic starred in an Obama campaign ad and participated in a conference call with the campaign in May, as POLITICO reported Wednesday. He resurfaced this week in a Priorities USA Action super PAC ad, charging that his wife died of cancer after Mitt Romney‘s former private equity firm laid him off.

Distancing themselves from the controversial ad, Obama campaign staffers initially denied knowledge of Soptic’s story — despite the fact that he was in an Obama campaign ad.

Adviser Robert Gibbs said he didn’t know “specifics,” while deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter said on CNN: “I don’t know the facts about when Mr. Soptic’s wife got sick or the facts about his health insurance.”

And yesterday on Air Force One, Psaki said, “we don’t have any knowledge of the story of the family.”

According to Bill Burton, Priorities USA – the SuperPAC he runs along with long-time Democratic smear artist, Paul Begala (they call him a “senior advisor”) – shot the footage which appeared in their disgusting ad back in February. For some reason, Burton’s group decided to wait until August to finally air the ad. Here you have what they clearly considered blockbuster footage sitting on a shelf doing nothing.

Were they hurting for funds? Possibly. Were they going around telling people they had this blockbuster footage and needed money to run an anti-Romney campaign with it? Let’s see. February. What else happened in February that made the news? Oh, yes. Bill Maher came out of nowhere and stroked a nice fat $1,000,000 check to Priorities USA. But there’s more in that story to digest. Particularly:

Earlier this month, the Obama campaign announced a more friendly posture toward the group, allowing administration and campaign officials to appear at the super PAC’s fundraising events.

Oh? What could possibly have led the Obama administration to feel that Priorities USA needed some help with fundraising? Could it be that Priorities USA had some blockbuster footage sitting on a shelf?

This was February when the Republican primaries were still being contested and Team Obama was gearing up for the eventual nominee. Romney was the front-runner. Pro-Obama forces were already attacking Romney, but it would make sense they would keep the powder relatively dry until he became the presumptive nominee.

Much more at the link. This story must be told folks, Team Obama has thrown Hope and Change under the bus. I, and others predicted this election would be nasty, I mean vile, disgusting, and deplorable. And, Obama and his allies are proving all of us correct. They will seemingly tell any lie, sink to any smear, to win in November. Of course, given the Obama record, what else can they do? Odd, it is the left that accuses Conservatives of “divisiveness” yet, the left is always waist deep in divisive rhetoric. 

I have asked this question before, allow me to pose it again. If you are a Democrat, why? Why would you support such a political party? Why would you donate to, or vote for, any member of that party? What is the appeal? The nasty, hate-filled rhetoric? The lies? The false accusations? The smug disregard the Democrats have for the American people? The contempt with which they view our Constitution? Maybe it is all the failed policies? The wasteful spending? Perhaps it is the constant campaign to divide Americans along lines of race, gender, sexual orientation, or class?

I really would like one Democrat to answer some of these queries. Frankly, I cannot fathom any American actually supporting liars, thieves, miscreants, and bigots, which is what the Democratic party has devolved into.
