A convenience store owner in Utah says he has kept a pistol handy for five years for protection.
The first time he had to reach for it was on Monday when a knife wielding man walked into the store and demanded money.
The owner drew his pistol and said, “I pulled out my gun and I said, ‘Just leave your knife here and leave the store.’ And he left.”
The suspect was arrested at a nearby Kentucky Fried Chicken shortly after the attempted robbery.
Yet another example of a defensive gun use that will not be included in most statistics or studies because no shots were fired and no one was killed.

Exactly. If he had fired, the only place you’d read about it is the American Rifleman, maybe the local paper. If the roles had been reversed, it would have been everywhere.
