Your Range Report for a Christmas Eve

What to do on Christmas Eve?  Well, like millions of others I had to do some final shopping, so I did hit Wal Mart, which was not as crowded as I thought it might be, except for the toy department, which, or course, is where I needed to shop. Anyway, before the shopping, I decided to take an opportunity to visit the gun range, and I am glad I did. I decided to shoot the usual 100 rounds with my Sig p250, and shot further than the last time, when I went between 7-11 yards. I spread my shots from 9-15 yards, with over half from 12 yards or beyond, except for my last magazine, which I just fired as rapidly as I could from about 6 yards. Anyway, like last week, I went for as much speed as possible, gun up, on target, fire. I am really used to the double action trigger now, I have the reset point down, and it showed in my shooting.

Out of 100 rounds, I had 96 in the 8-10, not quite as good as my 98 out of 100 last time, but I put 87 of those in the 9-10 rings, better than last trip’s 75, and I had about 40 of those in the 10 circle, it is hard to tell exactly since a good portion of the 10 ring was gone. So, overall my best day of shooting. I was darned proud of myself. Then I came home and watched this guy, Max Michel  who captains the Sig Sauer shooting team

At age 31, Max Michel is a legend within the world of competitive shooting. A three-time World Speed Shooting Champion, six-time USPSA National Champion, and three-time US National Steel Champion, Max is a dominant force in pistol shooting sports. Born and raised in New Orleans, LA Max began shooting when he was just 5 years old. In 1999 Max joined the famed USAMU’s Action Pistol Team and served in the U.S. Army for 10 years as an Army shooter and trainer. Max is also the current captain of the Team SIG SAUER shooting team. Today, Max is recognized worldwide as a top tier athlete and instructor.

18 shots, and two reloads in under 5 seconds? DAMN!

Here is the best advice for a new shooter
