    Hey guys,
Today’s Nic Kristoff column is ridiculous. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/12/18/opinion/18kristof.html?ref=opinion
Here’s the quote that gets me: “One of industry’s objections is that soft drinks aren’t the only problem. That’s true, and I’d love to see a “Twinkie tax” as well.”
The nanny staters keep using over-hyped health or environmental concerns as an excuse to climb inside our kitchen cabinets and tax everything in there. Equating soda pop with cigarettes? Sure, and potato chips equal cocaine.

    Hey Doug and Ed,

Just wanted to give you the heads-up about a new blog started by the American Beverage Association (they’re the non-alcoholic beverage group) at http://www.ameribev.org/blog/

It just got started, but look for it to be very outspoken on a lot of tax and health issues.

    Best,

    Bevgal
