Obama EPA Illegally Hands Over Info On Livestock Producers To Extremist Animal Rights Groups (Video)

Obama EPA Illegally Hands Over Info On Livestock Producers To Extremist Animal Rights Groups – Gateway Pundit

When the Obama EPA is not spying on cattle and pork ranches with drones, they’re illegally releasing information on livestock producers to far left extremist groups.

The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association and the National Pork Producers are furious after the Obama Environmental Protection Agency illegally gave information on livestock farmers to extremist animal rights groups.

Farm Futures reported:

NCBA and the National Pork Producers Council are both furious with EPA for handing extremist groups illegally gathered data on farmers who operate confined animal feeding operations.

NCBA said early this week it was notified by the EPA that the agency had been collecting information from states on CAFOs. The information was requested by extremist groups, including Earth Justice, the Pew Charitable Trust and the Natural Resources Defense Council through a Freedom of Information Act request and was given to them.

The information released by EPA covers livestock operations in more than 30 states, including many family farmers who feed less than 1,000 head and are not subject to regulation under the Clean Water Act.

“When we reviewed the information submitted by the states and released by EPA, we were alarmed at the detail of the information provided on hard working family farmers and ranchers, family operations including my own,” said NCBA past president J.D. Alexander, a cattle feeder from Pilger, Nebraska.

“It is beyond comprehension to me that with threats to my family from harassment atop bio-security concerns, that EPA would gather this information only to release it to these groups. This information details my family’s home address and geographic coordinates. The only thing it doesn’t do is chauffeur these extremists to my house. For some operations, even telephone numbers and deceased relatives are listed.”

The problem had recent roots in January 2012 when EPA proposed the Clean Water Act Section 308 CAFO Reporting rule to collect information from CAFOs and make it publicly available and readily searchable through their website.

Rep. Rick Crawford (R-AR) released a statement and video condemning the EPA for their illegal acts.

.

.
Here’s the transcript:

In Arkansas, farming is a way of life. Agriculture is the number one industry in our First Congressional District and for many families it’s a rich tradition. As Arkansas’s only representative on the House Agriculture Committee, I fight each day to ensure farm families in our state can continue producing the safest, most abundant and reliable source of nutrition food on the planet.

Recently, I was informed the Environmental Protection Agency had released the personal information of livestock and poultry producers to extremist environmental groups. The information was released after the groups filed a request through the Freedom of Information Act.

The EPA turned over personal information like phone numbers, addresses and even geographic coordinates to environmentalists. An overwhelming majority of the information released appears to be from farms owned by families who may now face threats to their homes and businesses.

I have serious concerns over the EPA’s release of this information, particularly regarding individual privacy rights and possible bio-security threats to the nation’s food supply. Releasing this type of information makes producers potential targets of harassment, or even bio-terrorism. Unfortunately, this release of information is yet another example of the EPA’s overreach into the lives of hardworking individuals in rural America.

As Chairman of the Agriculture Subcommittee on Livestock, Rural Development, and Credit, I am leading a group of 40 House members in writing a letter to the acting director of the EPA expressing our concerns and asking the acting director to ensure the released information is not improperly used. In the letter, we demand answers on why the EPA obtained producers’ private information and, most important, what steps the agency will take to protect the affected producers while ensuring these actions will never happen again.

It is unacceptable for the EPA to do anything that could jeopardize our nation’s food security or threaten American farm operatins. The EPA must be held accountable for their actions and bureaucrats in Washington must consider the livelihoods of farm families and our nation’s food-security before they cower to extreme environmental groups.

Massachusetts Democrat files bill allowing hunters to be sued

2 Mar

Well, the trial lawyers, and animal rights dingbats would love this, normal people, with morals? Not so much

Via The Sportsmen’s Daily:

Massachusetts State Senator Mark Montigny (D-New Bedford) recently introduced a bill that would allow private individuals to file a lawsuit for the “protection and humane treatment of animals.” This is of great concern for all sportsmen, farmers, and dog owners.

Animal cruelty is already a crime in Massachusetts just as it is across the country. Animal cruelty laws are enforced by experienced law enforcement officers, including local police forces and animal control officers, who are trained on what is and is not animal cruelty under the law and how to spot it.

Senate Bill 767 would end this proven system and instead give private citizens the ability to sue animal owners over what they perceive to be “animal cruelty” under the law.

“Under this bill, animal rights activists would be able to sue anyone – including sportsmen, farmers, and dog owners – whenever and wherever they think animal cruelty is being committed,” said Evan Heusinkveld, USSA’s Director of Government Affairs. “This could force sportsmen and women who have done nothing wrong to spend thousands of dollars to defend themselves against animal rights zealots looking to take them to court.”

For example, if an animal rights activist thinks common dog training practices—such as using a shock collar or tethering—are inhumane, they would now be able to sue the sporting dog owner or trainer claiming animal cruelty. Likewise, an activist that disapproves of certain farming practices could sue farmers for the practices they consider cruel. Even if a judge ultimately throws out the case, the animal’s owner will likely have had to spend a good deal of money and time fighting the bogus lawsuit.

“Enforcement of animal cruelty laws should be left in the hands of trained law enforcement officers and not be given to animal rights activists to harass law-abiding animal owners and private citizens,” said Heusinkveld.

Another Democrat sponsoring a bill that would certainly have unintended consequences. Another Democrat pushing a bill when there are already sufficient laws on the books. What a loathsome party the Democrats have become

Meatless Mondays? Good Freaking grief! The things that small minds come up with. Maggies Notebook is as amazed at the stupidity as I am

Yes ladies and gentlemen all you have to do is “Pledge” to give up eating meat on Mondays.  Right now it is voluntary but give these assholes enough time and it will be mandatory with stiff fines.

From the City Council that declared war on trans-fats and fast-food restaurants comes the latest way to make residents feel, well, guilty about what they eat.

The Los Angeles council, in a 14-0 vote on Friday, adopted a resolution urging residents to adopt a personal pledge to have a “meatless Monday.”

While it does not have the force of law and police will not be checking what you brought to work for lunch, city officials said they hope it will start a trend, make residents healthier and reduce the impact on the environment.

“This follows the `good food’ agenda we recently adopted supporting local, sustainable food choices,” said Councilwoman Jan Perry, who has called for a ban on new fast-food restaurants in South Los Angeles to fight obesity.

“We can reduce saturated fats and reduce the risk of heart disease by 19 percent,” Perry said. “While this is a symbolic gesture, it is asking people to think about the food choices they make. Eating less meat can reverse some of our nation’s most common illnesses.”

Councilman Ed Reyes, who joined with Perry in proposing the resolution, said one of his sons has been diagnosed with diabetes.

“The issue is how does a local municipality engage in this and how do we create change,” Reyes said. “If we do it one plate at time, one meal, one day, we are ratcheting down the impact on our environment. We start with one day a week and then, who knows, maybe we can change our habits for a lifetime.”

The proposal was developed by the Food Policy Council, which has a goal of “creating more and better food jobs” and encouraging food companies and small food enterprises as part of a bigger agenda to encourage healthy foods in the city.

PETA makes a mockery of animal rights, again

2 Jun

Can you say over the top? PETA can! H’T I’m a Man

One such organization that behaves in this way is the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), which has such a long string of mind-bogglingly silly publicity stunts to its name that they could fill several books. From their biology-defying decision to try to market fish as “Sea Kittens,”to the numerous models they dress in nothing but leaves, to the embarrassing street theater that they engage in while dressed like overgrown Peep marshmallows, PETA will likely go down in history as the only freak show to ever successfully make its living as a nonprofit.

But now PETA has decided to take on a new target – celebrity chefs – and have done so with a video that is simultaneously so ghoulishly hilarious and so unimaginably offensive that we have no choice but to report it. The Braiser reports:

The animal rights group recently launched its Silent Scream campaign targeting Fox, Gordon Ramsay, and Hell’s Kitchen. Apparently, they’d like Fox to air their latest PSA featuring “groundbreaking new fish empathy” propaganda during Hell’s Kitchen commercial breaks, in an effort to parallel the silent screams of all those dying fishies to the distinctly audible screams of Gordon Ramsay. Huh?

How disturbed are these people? To compare such horrible acts of violence against people to cooking a fish? Really? Can you say moral retardation?

Indoctrination sucks

30 Apr

One day I am going to post a list of my steadfast rules of life. On that list, will be Indoctrination Sucks. Note, I do not mind education, I certainly do not mind having anyone taught different ideas. I, in other words, welcome education, but indoctrination is the nemesis of education. Indoctrination seeks to prevent thinking, and you need look no further than this video via American Power, for proof of how deplorable, and dangerous indoctrination is.

There really is nothing to add is there? Except to be sure that this young mind is being taught this at SCHOOL! On our dime!

I am reminded of a chat I had about four years ago. I vacation in Estes park, Colorado every September. I love hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park, a place I fell in love with in 2001, and Estes Park borders the park.

In 2008, I decided to take a tour, via a six-wheeler, into the back country. The woman who drove us talked about the history, the wildlife, etc. She explained during the tour that the elk, which are plentiful in the area, were actually brought in, decades ago from another area of the West, California I think it was. She explained further that this was made necessary because the elf population was wiped out in the area by evil man. Now, I agree that it was tragic, and criminal frankly, that people did such a thing. What did strike me as odd, however, was that she never gave any credit to the people who FIXED the problem, by re-introducing elk to the area.

She was perfectly willing to paint people as bad, but very loathe to credit those that repaired, as best they could, the damage. Odd that Liberals are often that way isn’t it? Which, I think, proves another great rule of life I have, Liberalism is an ideology of pessimism. But that is another post!

Why do we pick on the French?

14 Apr

Well, because it is easy, I mean they wear Berets and talk funny. Also, it is safe, because no one from France will kick your butt for doing it, I mean they wear Berets! Lastly, it is fun, I mean they wear Berets!! Just ask Chris at Wyblog who is more afraid of literate baboons, because they do NOT wear Berets.

Can Dan the baboon R-E-A-D?

Dan the baboon sits in front of a computer screen. The letters BRRU pop up. With a quick and almost dismissive tap, the monkey signals it’s not a word. Correct. Next comes, ITCS. Again, not a word. Finally KITE comes up.

He pauses and hits a green oval to show it’s a word. In the space of just a few seconds, Dan has demonstrated a mastery of what some experts say is a form of pre-reading and walks away rewarded with a treat of dried wheat.

Dan is part of new research that shows baboons are able to pick up the first step in reading — identifying recurring patterns and determining which four-letter combinations are words and which are just gobbledygook.

The study shows that reading’s early steps are far more instinctive than scientists first thought and it also indicates that non-human primates may be smarter than we give them credit for.

“They’ve got the hang of this thing,” said Jonathan Grainger, a French scientist and lead author of the research.

Sure, this week they give him some dried wheat. Next week? Next week he gets a rifle. The French immediately surrender. Then we find out Dan’s real name is Dr. Zaius.

Where’s Charlton Heston when you need him?

Yeah, go ahead, laugh now, but when we are fighting monkeys in the streets, we will know who to blame won’t we? Yeah, those beret-wearing Frenchmen!

Berets? Oh Hell no!

How long until Al Gore and his followers are killing those damned uncooperative Polar Bears?

6 Apr

Folks, Gore and his followers at The Church of Climate Change fanaticism might be doing a better job of convincing everyone their claims of global warming are true, if only the Polar Bears they insist are going extinct would freaking die already!

The longer we look at the Global Cooling Global Warming Global Climate Disruption scam, the more and more it starts to fall apart. One of the iconic images of the scam is this, featuring the poor polar bears…

Well, that’s not quite the case, according to our friends to the great white north…

The debate about climate change and its impact on polar bears has intensified with the release of a survey that shows the bear population in a key part of northern Canada is far larger than many scientists thought, and might be growing.

The number of bears along the western shore of Hudson Bay, believed to be among the most threatened bear subpopulations, stands at 1,013 and could be even higher, according to the results of an aerial survey released Wednesday by the Government of Nunavut. That’s 66 per cent higher than estimates by other researchers who forecasted the numbers would fall to as low as 610 because of warming temperatures that melt ice faster and ruin bears’ ability to hunt. The Hudson Bay region, which straddles Nunavut and Manitoba, is critical because it’s considered a bellwether for how polar bears are doing elsewhere in the Arctic.

66% higher population!  Well, that really pokes a hole in the alarmist’s claims, does it not?

The study shows that “the bear population is not in crisis as people believed,” said Drikus Gissing, Nunavut’s director of wildlife management. “There is no doom and gloom.”

Man, if this type of news keeps coming out, Al Gore and his flunkies might have to start working on  another scam.

Your fun scientific news of the day

Replica del Tiranosaurio Rex

Image via Wikipedia

Via A View From The Beach comes this news. The T-Rex was a very bad beast

Scientists say they have proof that the Tyrannosaurus rex, the dinosaur adored by children and makers of plastic toys, had the most powerful bite of any creature that lived on land.

The bite of a grown T-rex was up to 10 times that of a Mississippi alligator, exerting a force of nearly six tonnes – the weight of an elephant – on a single tooth, according to a study published on Wednesday.

The estimate comes from a 3-D computer simulation of a T-rex head, with reconstructions of its bones, jaw movement and muscle power, say University of Liverpool palaeontologists led by Karl Bates.

“Models predict that adult T-rex generated sustained bite forces of 35,000-57,000 Newtons at a single posterior tooth, by far the highest bite forces estimated for any terrestrial animal,” says the paper.

By comparison, humans exert only 70 to 100 kilos of force on a single tooth.

Animal Rights Lunatic Jailed After Attempting To Hire Hit Man To Kill Random Person Caught Wearing Fur

Animal Rights Lunatic Jailed After Attempting To Hire Hit Man To Kill Random Person Caught Wearing Fur – Weekly Vice

Meredith Lowell, a 27-year-old Ohio woman was jailed after she allegedly tried to hire a hit man to kill any random person found to be wearing animal fur.

According to FBI agents, Lowell spent months trying to solicit a hit man through Facebook, with the intention of killing a random person who was caught wearing fur clothing.

……………………………………

Undercover officers began communicating with Lowell through Facebook In November after being alerted to the alleged plot.

Investigators say Lowell posted a request on Facebook which stated “I would like to create an online community on facebook which would allow me to find someone who is willing to kill someone wearing fur toward the end of October 2011 or early November 2011 or possibly in January 2012 or February 2012 at the latest.”

Lowell, using the alias Anne Lowery, allegedly wrote that she would be willing to pay up to $850 to anyone willing to carry out the deed. She referred to the act as a “hit, a demonstration and a protest.”

During email exchanges between Lowell and FBI agents, Lowell reportedly stated that she wanted to be present when the murder occurred, so that she could begin handing out animal rights “papers” at the scene. She also stated that murdering a 12 year old child would be “fine” but that she would prefer the victim to be at least 14 if possible.

Lowell offered the undercover agent $730 in jewelry to complete the “hit” while providing detailed explanations about how she wanted murder to be performed.

“You need to bring a gun that has a silencer on it and that can be easily concealed in your pants pocket or coat. If you do not want to risk the possibility of getting caught with a gun before the job, bring a sharp knife that is (at least) 4-inches long, it should be sharp enough to stab someone and/or slit their throat to kill them. I want the person to be dead in less than two minutes,” stated Lowell during another email exchange.

Lowell was booked into jail and charged with solicitation to commit murder.

Anchor bitten on face by rescued Argentine mastiff dog Gladiator Maximus on TV segment

9 Feb

The video of the attack has apparently gone viral, you can click the link if you choose, I prefer not to see the attack. Here is the story

An 85-pound Argentine mastiff dog dramatically rescued a day earlier from an icy lake was impounded Wednesday after viciously biting a Denver television news anchor on her face during a live in-studio segment. WATCH THE ICE RESCUE VIDEO HERE: http://bit.ly/z04oVW

Kyle Dyer was conducting an interview on the rescue of Gladiator Maximus, also known as Max, after the dog fell into a frigid Lakewood lake Tuesday while chasing a coyote. The live segment was aimed at reuniting firefighter Tyler Sugaski, who rescued the animal, and Michael Robinson, the dog’s owner.

According to KUSA-TV , firefighters, paramedics and animal control were called to the station after the attack.

I hope the woman is OK, she put her face right in the dog’s, never a good idea if you are not familiar with the dog for sure.

What will the Nanny Staters try to ban next?

16 Jun

Try goldfish!

Just think. Someone, somewhere, thought that this would be a good idea.

First kittens, then puppies and hamsters and now goldfish?

San Francisco’s Animal Control and Welfare Commission is recommending that the City ban the sale of goldfish, tropical fish and guppies in its borders, according to Matier and Ross.

The recommendation to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors is part of the commission’s ongoing efforts to discourage “impulse buys” of animals.

The commission’s ban would cover pet stores and breeders in the City. It comes after more than a year of study and findings that aquarium fish are often mass bred under inhumane conditions or stripped from the wild.

However, the ban is only a recommendation and not likely to be passed by the full board of supervisors to become law.

Only a recommendation, for now that is. Seriously, politicians, at all levels of government spend way too much time in session, and this is one of the things that lead to these inane laws.

Federal Judge Rules Liberal Fish Study That Forced Officials To Cut Off California Water Was Based On Junk Science – Gateway Pundit

Oops!… Sorry about that mass unemployment and drought.

In December 2008, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service issued what is known as a “biological opinion” imposing water reductions on the San Joaquin Valley and environs to safeguard the federally protected hypomesus transpacificus, a.k.a., the delta smelt.

As a result, tens of billions of gallons of water from mountains east and north of Sacramento was channelled away from farmers and into the ocean, leaving hundreds of thousands of acres of arable land fallow or scorched.

Democrats created a dust bowl based on junk science.

A federal judge ruled on Tuesday that the liberal study that forced California officials to cutback on water to the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta was based on faulty science. SFGate reported:

A federal judge has ruled that a landmark 2008 environmental study laying the groundwork for controversial water cutbacks from the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta relied on faulty science.

In his much-anticipated decision released Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Oliver Wanger ordered the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to re-examine and rewrite its plan for the threatened delta smelt.

The agency’s solution for shoring up the collapsing species – namely cutting water exports to California cities and farms – is “arbitrary” and “capricious,” the Fresno judge wrote in his 225-page decision…

…Wanger’s ruling upheld the evidence showing that the delta pumps do indeed trap and kill many delta smelt – a consolation for environmental groups that had fought for pumping cutbacks. However, the judge found fundamental flaws in the scientific analysis on the benefits of trimming water supplies to urban and rural areas and said the federal agency failed to examine the economic impacts of such a policy.

Agricultural water districts, plaintiffs in the case and the most vocal critic of the 2008 Fish and Wildlife Service report – officially termed a “biological opinion” – were delighted with Tuesday’s decision.

“With the economy struggling and unemployment still soaring, it is welcome to see a judge refusing to rubber-stamp extreme, destructive and unjustified environmental regulations,” said Damien Schiff, attorney for the Pacific Legal Foundation, which backed several farmers in a lawsuit against the federal government. “Bottom line: The people win; junk science loses.”

Another Hollywood Lefty drug addict is apalled that Sarah palin hunts

8 Dec
Aaron Sorkin speaking at the Oxford Union

Image via Wikipedia

Aaron Sorkin, well-known screen writer, and ass hat is apparently deeply aggrieved over Sarah Palin shooting a caribou. Writing at Huffington Post, where being an asshat is cool apparently, Sorkin shows no class,or tolerance,I mean who IS he to judge Sarah Palin after all. Instead Sorkin goes to the gutter level, and stays there.

“Unless you’ve never worn leather shoes, sat upon a leather chair or eaten meat, save your condemnation.”

You’re right, Sarah, we’ll all just go fuck ourselves now.

The snotty quote was posted by Sarah Palin on (like all the great frontier women who’ve come before her) her Facebook page to respond to the criticism she knew and hoped would be coming after she hunted, killed and carved up a Caribou during a segment of her truly awful reality show, Sarah Palin’s Alaska, broadcast on The-Now-Hilariously-Titled Learning Channel.

Like 95% of the people I know, I don’t have a visceral (look it up) problem eating meat or wearing a belt. But like absolutely everybody I know, I don’t relish the idea of torturing animals. I don’t enjoy the fact that they’re dead and I certainly don’t want to volunteer to be the one to kill them and if I were picked to be the one to kill them in some kind of Lottery-from-Hell, I wouldn’t do a little dance of joy while I was slicing the animal apart.

I’m able to make a distinction between you and me without feeling the least bit hypocritical. I don’t watch snuff films and you make them. You weren’t killing that animal for food or shelter or even fashion, you were killing it for fun. You enjoy killing animals. I can make the distinction between the two of us but I’ve tried and tried and for the life of me, I can’t make a distinction between what you get paid to do and what Michael Vick went to prison for doing. I’m able to make the distinction with no pangs of hypocrisy even though I get happy every time one of you faux-macho shitheads accidentally shoots another one of you in the face.

Snuff films Aaron? Really? And comparing cruelty to animals,to hunting? Again, give us all a break Aaron. Hunters do more, FAR FAR MORE, towards conservation than pinhead animal rights wackos, or opinionated druggies like you do Aaron.

Face it Aaron, if you were not a hypocrite, people might, just might take you seriously. But, it is hard to take someone who, by their own admission eats meat, and uses leather products, seriously when the condemn hunters as “murderers”! It is about credibility Aaron, and by the way, you are fresh out of that!

When I say someone is Bat-Shit Crazy, I mean people like this guy

Your Marxist Moron of the Day, and Daley Douchebag comes to us via Warner Todd Huston

In the warped moral thinking of the extreme left, all creatures are better off never having existed for their “suffering.” This is, for instance, how in-human leftists excuse abortion. If a child was never born, they contend, he will never suffer. Well, at least one professor has taken this extreme precept to its ultimate end. In a recent rambling New York Times piece Rutgers philosophy professor Jeff McMahan has proposed that we kill off every meat eating animal (including humans presumably) on earth to stop the “suffering” of their prey.

He proposes that we can do this either by just killing them all, or by some sort of genetic manipulation to breed out their carnivorous propensities. Why should we do this? Because it is the nice, Christian thing to do, of course. Why, think of it, we’d be ending “suffering” on earth he says.

Suppose that we could arrange the gradual extinction of carnivorous species, replacing them with new herbivorous ones. Or suppose that we could intervene genetically, so that currently carnivorous species would gradually evolve into herbivorous ones, thereby fulfilling Isaiah’s prophecy. If we could bring about the end of predation by one or the other of these means at little cost to ourselves, ought we to do it?

Perhaps one of the more benign scenarios is that action to reduce predation would create a Malthusian dystopia in the animal world, with higher birth rates among herbivores, overcrowding, and insufficient resources to sustain the larger populations. Instead of being killed quickly by predators, the members of species that once were prey would die slowly, painfully, and in greater numbers from starvation and disease.

Yet our relentless efforts to increase individual wealth and power are already causing massive, precipitate changes in the natural world.

Read the whole thing as WTH exposes this dimwit as just another Neo-Marxist educated well beyond his hat size. Personally I think we ought to lock this asshat in a cage with a hungry Grizzly Bear and let them “hash it out”
