*VIDEO* America: Freedom To Fascism – Aaron Russo

.
Former music promoter, manager, filmmaker and political activist Aaron Russo sets out to discover the truth behind the Internal Revenue Service in an eye-opening documentary intended to discover if there is any existing law that requires American citizens to pay an income tax. What Russo claims to uncover in his nonpartisan investigation is a systematic erosion of civil liberties implemented by wealthy bankers in the early 19th century and subsequently proliferated by a government more interested in ruling the people than serving them.

Studio Behind ‘Carrie’ Remake Freaks Out Coffee Shop Patrons With Telekinesis Prank (Video)

Sony Spooks West Village Coffee Shop With ‘Carrie’ Mind Control Stunt – New York Daily News

.

The studio behind the new horror remake “Carrie” played mind games with customers at a West Village coffee shop with a hidden-camera stunt showing a woman suffering a supernatural flip out.

Video of the stunt hit YouTube Monday and amassed more than 3 million views by noon Tuesday.

“People did freak out,” Nora Petroliunas, 29, a manager at ‘sNice cafe on 8th Ave., told the Daily News. “It was funny to watch them react.”

.

Shot over two days in late August, the bit involved about a half-dozen actors posing as customers inside the laid-back vegetarian hangout.

As unsuspecting patrons walked in for a java fix, one of the plants, stuntman Travis Graves, spilled coffee on a woman ticking away on a laptop, sending her into a telekinetic rage.

.

Channeling Stephen King’s tortured heroine, actress Andrea Morales slammed Graves against a wall and then sent tables and chairs skidding across the floor.

Morales capped the scene with a piercing scream that would have made Sissy Spacek proud, as paperbacks flipped off nearby shelves.

.

“We got some awesome reactions. Some people got really into it,” Morales, 27, told The News. “A constructor worker actually came toward me to calm me down, saying everything was going to be okay.”

To pull off the stunt, viral marketing firm ThinkModo had crews build a fake wall and tethered Graves to a pulley system.

.

The tables were on remote control tracks, while the books were rigged to tumble at the push of a button.

ThinkModo co-founder James Percelay, who hung out behind the dummy wall, said customers were clearly spooked until the moment he yelled “cut,” signaling actors and servers to applaud.

“There was not one person there whose eyes didn’t pop,” Percelay said. “You see everything in New York, but you don’t see someone flying up a wall. I think the most jaded New Yorker was surprised.”

.
…………………

“I was pretty hoarse,” said Morales, who lives in Hoboken. “But we had free coffee all day. It was so much fun.”

The revamped “Carrie,” which stars Chloë Moretz in the title role, hits theaters Oct. 18.

Did You Know Hollywood Made A Movie About Ben Carson? Watch The Highlights Here

Did You Know Hollywood Made A Movie About Ben Carson? Watch The Highlights Here – The Blaze

Dr. Ben Carson has been hot with conservatives since his well-publicized speech at the National Prayer Breakfast, where he criticized President Obama’s policies while the president sat all of 5 feet away, not to mention his CPAC address this past weekend. But what you might not know is that before he became a hero on the right, Carson was already a minor celebrity, and even got a TV movie made about his life. The movie, titled “Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story,” is titled after Carson’s own autobiography, and follows the life of Carson (played as an adult by Cuba Gooding, Jr.) from his difficult early life through his college years at Yale to his career as a world-renowned neurosurgeon. It originally aired on TNT in February of 2009.

…………………

Apparently, unlike many would-be inspirational flicks that get released on TV, “Gifted Hands” is actually good, at least according to most critics. The Hollywood Reporter wrote an especially glowing review, calling the film “Emmy-worthy” and in a stroke of retroactive irony, the Orlando Sentinel called the film “the perfect movie for a country challenged by its new president to do better.”

Curious if you want to watch the film? YouTube user “pianonator” already put together a highlight reel of several scenes. You can watch it below:
